Quick Radio/Custom Rom Question. - G1 Android Development

Hey all,
I just recently installed the JF 1.51 rom so I could take advantage of having root access..
From what i've experienced it's workin' great.
The only problem I seem to have is my bluetooth connections, like my headset.. I've tried two, (both worked perfectly before I installed the rom); they seem to pair and connect without flaw, but I can't hear anything through it and the person on the other line can't hear me. I'm also experiencing issues with my speaker phone performance. (I might just be imagining the speaker phone issues, but still I would like to get this sorted out). My 3g signal seems to have been decreased as of late, and my GPS takes a little longer to locate my position. During the rom installation process, I installed an updated radio from the stock RC27 (or 29 I forget exactly)
So currently here are my specs:
Firmware version: 1.5
Base band (Last 4 entries): 1.22.14.11
Kernal version: 2.6.27-00392-g8312baf [email protected] #2
Build Number: CRB43
I tried downloading the radio image from HTC (See attached file: Screen shot 2009-09-07 at 3.46.30 PM.jpg )
And the steps I took in doing that were compressing the file, naming it "update.zip", and trying to install it
So pretty much I'm just asking what you guys think I need to do.
Do I have the correct radio version already, and my problems are just with Jf's Rom?
Is there a certain way I'm supposed to boot the HTC radio image?
Is there another radio version I'm supposed to download?
Should I just install the official 1.5 because I'm a total noob?
Thanks for all your help, I really appreciate it. I've searched the forums, and could not find specific instructions on how to solve my problem.

Apache Radio Rom 1.43 for better signal

http://rapidshare.com/files/101857345/Apache_Radio_v1.43_Repack.rar
Is there a newer one than 1.43 ?
Thanks, I've been looking all over for this!
I went from 1.27 to 1.41 and then to 1.43 and never noticed any change at
I actually found that using 1.43 caused some stability problems. I also lost the ability to enter SPC codes.
I don't know for sure that it was the cause of these issues, but when I went back to 1.41, they went away.
Can someone point me to where I can download a 1.27? I am at 1.12, but the 1.43 doesn't work. I've got a 1.00 bootloader
reload the factory rom (comes with 1.27) and then update again to whatever upgraded rom you were using.
One guy posted a link to download it via rapidshare. But unless you pay, you will have to wait, can only download one thing at a time, and it is slow and it sucks. I have a link to it using drop.io. It is just like rapidshare meaning you have 100MB for a free account. No registration and you can make as many drops as you want and link them together. An endless supply of drops.
I had Raidio 1.26 and when I upgraded to 6.1 using the BuildOS, my radio wouldn't work most the time. And I couldn't bluetooth or beam anything. But now beam and bluetooth work perfect!
Here is the link. Fast downloads, no waiting. And short URL. http://drop.io/apache143
i had no idea it came with it, i for some reason have 1.00 running on mind and am afraid to change it because i had one bad flash and now it downst get recognized as a apache i have to use the apache noid RUU to flash things but it also when flashes goes to 99% then "fails" but had actually flashed it and the boot pic is the only thing that disaperes i want to flash the radio but dont know if its a good idea and which one to go, does any one know which is better in signal? if it helps i am running my own custom made 6.1 21015 SYS rom
Hi, I have Radio 1.17, I have a HTC Apache and I have two questions.
1. Can I put this version 1.43 to my phone?
2. Do I need to make a hard reset to the phone after the upgrade?, I dont want to loose my information and programs.
3. Actually I have problems with the bluetooth of my phone, I can't use the obex ftp service, do you think the problem will be solved installing this upgrade?
Sorry for my english
Best Regards

Troubleshooting a ROM flash on the Verizon Vogue

Hi, I hope this is a good place to put this question, I would put this in the Vogue forum but it looks kind of slow-moving, so I figured I might as well turn it over to the experts. I encountered a problem on my first real ROM flash and now I'm kind of worried to try it again. So:
I'm using a Verizon XV6900/Vogue/TouchCDMA. I flashed to the leaked Verizon 6.1 upgrade, which worked flawlessly, and enabled Win 6.1, EV-DO Rev. A., and GPS with the Valhalla CAB. Then I decided to try some custom ROMs.
I unlocked without a problem, and confirmed that I achieved 2.31 coke. I then lauched the ROM update utility on a WDM ROM I got from here. It got hung up 69% through, the RUU tried to help me but failed at 69% again. It gave me an error 262 connection error, but couldn't give any more details.
I thought I had bricked my phone, but while stuck on the three-color screen I flashed back to the leaked Verizon ROM and authenticated, now I'm fine.
I'm guessing that the Verizon radio (3.37) wasn't new enough, since most other ROMs require the new Bell 3.42.
The actual question part: Should I update my radio and try WDM's again, or should I give something else a shot? I'm looking for something stable that includes M2D, and some of that new Opal stuff (title bar, Youtube, etc.) OMJ's also looks promising.
P.S. What exactly is User customization, and will flashing a non-carrier-specific ROM like this one affect my ability to connect to Verizon?
it isn't a problem of being "new enough" it has to do with radio compatibility.
That page specifically says flash version 3.42
I imagine user cusomization is refering to "uc" compliant roms that allow you to automatically install cabs from your storage card after a flash
Hmm, I really don't see a mention of it on the page, I guess I'm just supposed to assume 3.42 because it says simply, "update radio." Thanks though.
EDIT: Well I used a ROM that's compatible with 3.37 compatible, and it works great. I guess this thread is over now.

Looking to move from Fatality Hero rom to a stable semi-stock donut rom

I got my phone July of this year (ROGERS 32A) and immediately researched and successfully applied fatality's hero ROM... (rooted phone as well)
Recently my personal phone has turned into my work phone, and I've now added a 3G data plan (was previously only using wifi). Since I've been using 3G data, I've really noticed the short comings of this ROM (SLOW), and am now looking for a ROM that's basically:
A stock version of Donut with perhaps some small tweaks (multi-touch support?)
I've looked around the forum for a bit, both browsing and using search. Apparently I'm not as technologically savvy as I thought I was, as I just ended up getting fairly confused.
One of my problems is not remembering what I exactly did to get the ROM on my phone in the first place.
To put it simply my few questions are as follows:
1. If I don't remember what I did to the phone in the past (I do remember that the radio is still stock), will I be able to do something in the future that will mess up the phone?
2. I currently have sdk 1.5 installed. Do I need to upgrade to 2.0?
3. What's the best way to backup my call logs and sms messages? (hopefully a free version). Will this backup method work when going from a hero ROM to a near stock version of donut? (this is important as I have a lot of sms messages that I need to save)
4. Can someone recommend a near stock version of 1.6 that is de-branded and stable? (with all standard features fully working... maybe with multi-touch as well?)
5. Is there a good newbie guide for accomplishing this task? I seemed to find a few stickies, but I remember when I flashed this phone to begin with, there was one thread that was seemingly written for the mentally challenged (which really helped me accomplish the flashing task and made me comfortable with taking the leap)
Thanks for your help!
I've always used AmonRa's 1.6.2 with no issues.

1. Yes. I'm pretty sure you won't have any problems. I didn't (stock 32A from HTC).
2. No. But it won't hurt either. Just do it.
3. Search the market. I use Mybackup Pro ($2, methinks). There are some apps which do backup just the call log and another for SMSes.
4. Cyanogenmod ported for 32A. 2.4.9.1. Find the thread describing how to upgrade. You need another update (the 32A port which grants you working wifi).
5. I would try cyanogenmod.com - look for the wiki. And look through the two threads I mentioned.
Per.

yea.. amon's ion is great. u shud try it.
Amon_ras or the cyanogenmod ported for 32a. I prefer cyanogenmod.
I have never touched my radio but I have an engineering spl. that is not required though. To use the.32a port of cyanogenmod you need to have a recovery that can flash any zip, not just those named update.zip
Thanks for the suggestions... I really appreciate it.

Follow the guide on atools 1.0.4 (download it from my sig) go to help and follow all steps.
The "system" releases are device indipendent so you can take it from Vogue/Polaris/Kaiser thread.
Only nbh or default.txt need to be modified (with atools)
You can use 2.6.25 or 2.6.32.
only 2.6.25 has working camera.
Also flash 1.58.xx.xx radio (look in cruise rom develop)
an with this you tell me that i will solve all problems and can use ANDROID on my poalris?
will be great
i will test it and inform you.
thanks

[Q] Stable ROM? Baseband problems?

First of all, hello! Since it's my first post here, and I am new to Android, I am sorry if I fail to provide all the needed information. Let's cut to the chase then!
I have an LG Optimus 3D (p920) and I am struggling to find a good ROM.
The one I have now works, but it is very slow (I only have about 60 mb RAM left, I have to keep killing processes, but they come right back).
The details are:
Model Number:
LG-P920
Android version:
2.3.5
Baseband version:
L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel version:
2.6.35.7+
Build Number:
GRJ90
Software Version:
LGP920-V21e-Apr-19-2012
I have been lurking around the forums in search for other ROMs, and I tried some of them, but most got me to the same problem.
I tried CyanogenMod and a couple of other ROMs and this is what happens:
Using CyanogenMod I get a connection to the provider but it goes out randomly and, although it still shows me I got a signal, I am unable to make or receive calls.
With other ROMs, the problem persists, I am unable to connect to my mobile network, this time being represented just by the crossed signal bars.
I have just tried ThiaiZO3DV2.7,1GB, which lead to no connection.
Also, I tried JellyBam, but I am unable to complete even the first configuration (After completing it, the phone asks for a reboot - if I manage to get that far) and then keeps restarting every time it boots.
I've read around that this might be a baseband problem, I downloaded GetRil on all the softwares I tried. I allow it to have superuser privileges, I download and install the recommended baseband, reboot, still no network connection.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your time!
Regards, BrreaKer.
Later Edit: The ROM I am using now is a custom one, but I can't seem to remember where I got it. When I first bought the phone, it had Android 3.1.3
Also, I haven't got the slightest idea what's with Kernels ( I know what a kernel is, as a base idea, but nothing in detail )
I have a lot of things to learn about Android, and I figured this would be the best place to seek guidance.
