Unbranded HTC rom on Dash3G? - Dash 3G, Snap ROM Development

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the unbranded HTC rom onto the Dash 3G? I like the simple look of the unbranded rom and would like to put it on the D3G. Where can I even get it? I already did the same for my Touch Pro2 and it works like a champ! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It's all in the forum. No need to post a new thread. The ROMS are here and the process is as well. HardSPL is required to install ANY cooked ROM on any Maple, even a Dash3G.

How can I check if my touch pro is unlocked for installing custom roms?

Hi all,
I'm wondering how I can check if my HTC Touch Pro is unlocked for installing custom roms. I bought it without a carrier with no simlock.
Don't know if that matters?
Hope that someone can tell me how to check this...
Thanks

If you did not buy it from a carrier, then it should be SIM unlocked, which means you can install anyone's SIM card and the device should work. NOTE - use of a SIM card implies you have a GSM-based Raphael. There are also CDMA Raphael's out there (for North American carriers) which don't use a SIM card.
In either case, if the device is unlocked, then you can go ahead and install any of the Raphael ROMS being developed in the Raphael ROM forum. Be careful, if you have a CDMA Raphael, go to the CDMA forum.
Security Unlocked is something else, and this is only required if you want to flash the RADIO from another device, such as the Blackstone or Quartz models. This, you have to get done by someone else. There is a sticky thread in the Raphael ROM forum where you can get more information.
Personally, I just stick with SIM unlock, since the Raphael-based radios are working just fine for me.
you should probably put hard spl on there just in case to be safe
Ok thanks than I am going to install a custom rom tonight.
Hope it works!
You need to flash hard spl before doing anything.
Oke, does any one know where this is explained?
So just a short explanation about what to do in what order to install custom roms etc...
Thanks a lot already!
Uh, try the noob flashing thread and the hard spl thread in the rom forum, and the flashing thread at fuzemobility.

HTC TyTN II ROM - Please help

Hi,
I have the HTC TyTN II smart phone with the orange rom on it, im trying to find out how to get rid of this and put the orig rom instead so I can use the phone with another network. The phone is already unlocked but theres so many roms out there I have no idea which one I should be using. Can anyone please advise me on which one i should be downloading.
Many Thanks
If the phone is unlocked then it doesn't matter what ROM you use, just pick a one off the first page and flash it.
None of the ROMs are network specific, ATT based ROMs work better on the Tilt handsets and HTC based ROMs work better on TyTN 2 handsets. Most ROMs are HTC based nowadays.
If you need any help with the flashing process or have any more questions, please post them in this thread.
Thanks
Dave

Wrong thread, should post in ROM section.
You have a branded phone, these are official ROMS for unbranded phones, wayt till TM provides theire new ROM based on an official HTC ROM.
Or HSPL your phone (void warranty) and flash away
Had the same problem and flashed the latest ROM using SSPL. It was quite painless and the HD2 works fine. Do a search for SSPL or HSPL in this forum and all will be explained.
good luck
Why is it necessary to download the new rpm. I have the same problem. Just curious. My phone seems to be working nicely.
Use the below link to get the ROM and then grab a Goldcard and put the ROM on. Or you can follow the HSPL route instead if you prefer.
Will probably invalidate any TMo warranty you may have so be aware.

New Desire... Orange ROM! Generic WWE HTC ROM anyone?

Hi folks,
I've just come over from WinMo, so I'm pretty familiar with the concept of flashing, but not on an Android phone.
If anyone has any advice as to how I can get a generic/standard HTC Desire ROM to replace the Orange ROM that's come installed on my nice new phone, please let me know. At the moment, I've no root access, Goldcard or anything like that.
If the general concensus is that it's a bit too soon to start flashing then please let me know.
Many thanks in advance!
rich.
hi. at present whilst the desire has been successfully rooted, the process is not complete. therefore flashing a new rom is not an option at present. cheers Andy
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Sorry, but that's wrong. There should be no issues flashing a generic rom over the branded ones..

seems people are doin it to get rid of the t-mobile branding, so should work the same for orange.
(need root for custom roms)

sorry, a bit quick. You do need a goldcard, but reckon you can follow one of the guides to get one here in the forums

here's your goldcard guide:
android.modaco.com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/305746/updating-to-1-15-405-4-genericifying-your-t-mo-handset/
Create goldcard, flash generic rom. Done.
You guys are awesome. Never ceased to be amazed by this place.
Cheers!
If I have the bottle to go through with it and risk bricking my brand new phone I shall let you know how I get on!
I would create a backup of the orange ROM in case something goes wrong and you need Orange to replace it. Although I had flashed my SE C905 with generic fw and orange didnt say anything when they replaced it but best be safe then sorry.
n00b question, but do you make the Goldcard on the PC with the phone plugged in? the instructions aren't clear...have come flashing cooking WinMo ROMs on the HD2 to Android
Not sure what instructions you used but have a look at this:

I'm going to re-flash my Orange Desire this weekend; how would I go about creating a backup of the Orange ROM?
You can't yet. Not until the device is rooted. Then Nandroid will work on it!
Ah OK, cheers for the clarification. From everything I've read (both on here and over at MoDaCo) the flash process seems pretty safe/straight-forward, so fingers crossed I'll be OK! The Orange junk on my phone needs to go! I want GTalk back!
It's very straight forward. Go for it!
Successfully flashed my new Desire with Generic rom using Goldcard. Phone was on Orange UK, I bought an unlock code, applied it, it said Device Successfully Unlocked but it was still locked to Orange. After flashing the phone, reapplied unlock code and now I have an unlocked HTC Desire. The only thing that reminds me of Orange is the label on the back cover of the phone, but I can live with that until I can find one on ebay or somewhere.
why not try the sugar cube trick, ie use the cube like an abrasive pad

Does that really work?
sugar cube worked on my old HTC Magician a few years ago..but then the paint was on metal.
I had no idea the desire has been rooted! what is the procedure???
Will this work on A8183 versions of the Desire? ie. The Telstra delivered Australian model with 850Mhz?
Update: Yep it sure does work! Quietly brilliant....

Hmmm I'm not willing to give this one a go until I know I can get a replacement case if it goes wrong.

It's not been rooted. The only thing you can do at the moment is flash a generic unbranded rom. No custom roms or operator-specific roms are available yet.
