after I have crashed my old 750, I got a 750 from a friend. It has wm5 and worked fine.
After I have installed a backup, the screen won't turn on. After a soft reset, the treo works fine, but when I turn off the treo, same problem!!!
I think it is a software problem. I have updated to wm6, but problem is still the same.
Is there a possibility to formate the main memory?

I upgraded our first SPVM1000 (xda2 from orange) with WM5 and it all seemed to work fine.
I then up upgraded the second and it went fine. The second one is still workign completely fine with no problems. We noticed that the first one could not get reception. If you put its sim card in the other phone then it works. Now I tried with with Orange and Vodafone sims. They work in PDA 2 but in PDA 1 there is no reception (it was working yesterday).
Then it kept coming up with an error saying that it was sorry for the inconvenience but there was an error with cprog.exe.
After a reset (power button and soft reset button) that stopped happening but then I found that I could not active sync PDA1. It cant connect and so connects as "guest". After what used to be a hard reset, everything is still as though I just did a soft reset with WM5 - not sure why.
Then I tries to backdate it to the old rom. If I use OSImage tool it wants it to be active synced which doesn't work (v3.8 or v4.0). I also tried to reupgrade with WM5 again (a fresh installation) but althoght it will go into boot mode with Serial 1.03 and then USB 1.03 appearing on the screen, the upgrade fails. It says there is a communication error.
Everything is working with PDA 2 so it cant be a connection fault. I think I did something and now I got myself in quite a pickle.
Can anyone help please?
I'd be happy to reset / reboot right back to the beginning again though I'd like to keep WM5.

Solution (how to hard reset in wimdows mobile 5)
Hard resetting WM5 has fixed all of these problems including the phone reception. To hard reset (sometimes called clear reset in the forums) you have to press the tape and camera buttons and then the soft reset with the stylus. This is on an XDA2 (SPVM1000) and is different since upgrading to WM5 (prev power button and the soft reset did the trick). I found lots of websites giving different instructions on how to do this but for the XDA2 type this works.

3 months a go I got the phone from t mobile is been came whit the windows mobile5 and I install the windows mobile 6 but I am having turabul whit it and I when to go back to windows mobile5 now I call the T-Mobile customer service they cudont help me and refer me to manufacture to solve the problem.
I tray to install the window mobile5 but is giving me turabull code 224 devise is not responding I tray to dart resetting is well but instil is running on window mobile 6.
Can you pls help me to install the window mobile5, or have to delete the rom update.

I know I can't really shutdown the Treo 750.
But is there an application or something else that can completely shutdown the device?
At night I do not use the Treo and I switch on my Nokia but the battery of the Treo isnt that great so I would like to shut it down completely to save some battery...

It's not a perfect solution but you can always take out the PDA. Since the device has persistent storage, everything should work fine in the morning when you put it back...

i have been using treo 750v for about 3 weeks, I updated it with the wm6 rom provided by vodafone on the first day I got the device, it works at first quite smooth, in the first week I haven't had any crashes. Then as I installed more programs, it beginns to sporadically crash (or freezing), so I did a hard reset.
Then I installed less softwares (15-20) than I did before, at first it seems ok, but a few days later it beginn to crash again, mostly when on cradle, when I leaved it on cradle for a while and check again, the system has already been freezed, cant do a thing with it but reset. sometimes it crashes after I removed it from the cradle. yesterday I tried to open a lot of programs to fill the ram, as I want to see how many programms it can run before it gets slow, and it freezed when it had about 13Mb ram left after I opened a application. Another occasion as i remember is when I took it out of the pocket and was about to unlock it, it does not react, reset again...
Well I konw it is problably the 3rd party softwares that cause the system unsteady, but I bought this smartphone for the purpose of installing softwares on it and If I only use those preinstalled software, than what's the point of buying a smart phone. I have previously also used a HTC Wizard for about 2 month, I also had a lot of softwares on it but as I remember it does not crash as offen as this treo 750.
I just want to ask the other treo 750 users out there, are u experiencing the same problem? or is it possible my device or this wm6 version I installed is not steady? what I can do?
Well I know there is one thing I can do, exchange it to a treo 680, but I really like the 750.....
That such since I want to comment that I spend(pass) the same thing to my myself, does one love that this haci in ocaciones this one well and in others the screen freezes.
And villain qes that not if it(he,she) was for that me key or other one is that he(she) installs the skin swiht of spbmobileshell very well certainly but since then freezes also I did to him(her) hard reset and equal this one and not that to do...

I have the same problem, today im gone to send back the phone to the store, i made 2 hard resets, but the problem persist, i have problem with the phone calls too, i just recive a missed call notification or rings 1 time, i hate this phone really!!!
In an attempt to turn on Name Display on my Rogers Treo 750 (which I upgraded to WM 6.1).
So I downloaded the Rogers.zip file and ran it. (The link is in in the thread for 750 name display). I did a 'card update' and everything was fine. I re-set my Treo and nothing....
So I downloaded the ROM from Palm site for Rogers. And did a 'cd card install' using the Rogers Treo ROM from Palm. Everything went well. On the screen I saw the 'ok' appear beside the various tests. At the end I saw 'update successful'.
So I re-set the Treo - nothing. Simply a dark screen.
So apparantly I've bricked my Treo
Any ideas? Any way to 'unbrick' it? I would have thought using the ROM from PalmOne would have clear everything and start fresh.

I have done the exact samething and did a hard reset and still a black screen....what do I do next?
I got 'Update Complete / Update sucess'

I updated my palm treo 750 from WM 5 something to WM 6.5 a few days ago. at first it was glitching out but now it is just stuck at the windows mobile screen.
i tried soft rest i tried hard reset. i cant do anything through the computer because it does not load enough. any help would be appropriated.

I don't know what you mean by doesn't load enough, but try flashing back to an OEM rom.
(you can use the bootloader menu to do that) (there's a guide on how to do that in my signature in the GUIDES thread)
Try to remove both sim and memory card...

try to take out both sim card and memory card and do a soft reset.. will help sometimes
