Go to Microsoft downloads/mobile phone and look for the e-mail hotfix for 6.x I had the same prob a few days ago--just randomly lost the ability to send e-mails--got them fine but could not send...the cab fixes this.

Hmmm the patch is not available for my phone. Thanks for the advice though. Keep the ideas coming.

I looked up thedocgroup.com DNS records and see that mail.thedocgroup.com resolves to an IP via entryhost, I looked up the settings at entry host and found this:
I went to entryhost.com (seemingly looks like your email host/web host) and here is their incoming directions : http://www.entryhost.com/knowledgebase/read_article.bml?kbid=3728
Here is the outgoing : http://www.entryhost.com/knowledgebase/read_article.bml?kbid=1610

Calendar appointments from Lotus Notes - Citrix :(

Hi Guys
i'm trying to get my work Lotus Notes appointments in to my WM6 device. Sadly this is not as easy as it should be as its Citrix environment and locked down tighter than a nuns chastity belt.
So, I thought I had an idea! I added my personal email address as an Invite to a meeting and hey presto... the phone received it. The email had the attachment:
C085635.ics
The file even had the little calendar icon ... "result!" i thought... until i clicked it and got the following message:
"Failed to save". Received data may be incomplete"
I've tried this with a couple of appointments but i get the same message. I think the error is misleading as all other attachments come through fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
same problems as you
Hello,
I have the same problems as you. Have you found a solution?
Thank you for your reply.
I've found a solution. Just enable "Include file attachments". You can found the setting in the Active Sync options, by the Email Settings. Hope it worked for you too.
I didn't find a solution to that specific problem but when I changed ROMS to a diferent one, it started working fine.
For me, it wasn't as Sussex said as
I think the error is misleading as all other attachments come through fine.

Did anyone ever figure this out? I have the exact same issue on my HTC Tilt 2.
bumping up in hopes of a solution...
Bumping this up....ics from lotusnotes not working on my htc HD2 running Touch X-treme rom (OS-6.5.3). I fwded this same email to my BB9700 and it works fine on that device.
Any solution yet?

Pop3 email problem

First off I'm pretty new to all this and I did a search looking for a solution to this problem. I did my first rom flash to the At&t WM6 release and it works great. After setting up my email account I can receive email I just can't send it. This is the message I get every time.
"Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device, make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct"
I'm sure someone will know the answer to this.

Your outgoing mail server may require authentication. Check it under options and try sending again.

Html-mail -- Internet pictures blocked

Hello all,
Is there a way to automatically download pictures in html-mail? Now my device says: "To protect your privacy, pictures from the Internet are not automatically downloaded." Very annoying ...
I have a HTC P3300 with windows mobile 6 (Meschle's ROM)
Thanks
Automatic pic download?????
I was thinking the same thing....Im trying to find out now
...this has got to be THE most annoying thing EVER...
I've been looking for a solution to this one too...
I want my html email to be ACTUAL html WITH pictures by default...whats the point of blocking the pictures? You might as wel just use text email instead...!
PLEASE post the solution to this if you find it...
afaik if you get a spam mail with images, and these are downloaded, they recognize it and then you will get TONS of spam.
so the first spam mail is just a test for that e-mail address.

This I understand. But with respect, that still has nothing to do with wanting the option of turning the images on or off of my own volition.
Not to mention in MY case, I have rules set up that move email from my contact address book to a folder called "sync" - and thats the only folder that I am syncing to my mobile. were talking friends and business clients...NOT anything else...so in my case, that rule fails...what...3x a year...if that.
Again, anyone know how to turn OFF the automatic picture blocking of html email on wm6?
Drat! Had hoped I'd find a solution to this problem, but it looks like I'll have to keep searching, like everyone else? Doesn't make sense that there wouldn't be an options setting or registry flag to control this behavior since it is so annoying to some of us...
anyone ever find a way to do this? I see lots of threads about it but no answers.
There is still No Answer on this Forum or any other that I have found. I moved to Qmail and Am very happy, of Course it has its own challenges.
I'm also looking for a solution to this.
so Bumpety Bump Bump!!!
Some solution please ....

Seven Push Email with Orange Email

Has anybody managed to set up an Orange email account with SEVEN push email?
I'm struggling with this one because when I enter the POP server name - which is pop.orange.co.uk - SEVEN seems to convert it to
pop3.pop.orange.co.uk. In other words, SEVEN seems to think that all server names begin POP3, and 'helpfully' adds it for us automatically.
Anybody else encountered this? It may affect accounts other than Orange. Any solutions...?
Thanks!
Have you verified that those POP settings are indeed correct?

Those are the settings I use in Outlook on my PC, and elsewhere....
Thanks.
I am using Seven for email and have no problems, OK i am not collecting Orange mail, so can't really help directly.
Best suggestion would be to post it in the Seven support forum where their tech guys will see it and hopefully offer some help.

Google talk login error

Hey when ever i try to log into my google talk through the built in im apps, google comes up with login error 409...i know the login is correct as i can login to googlemail with the same credentials, anybody else experienced this problem? any fixes?
same problem here... thats that bullish
Confirmed... it is not you
no problem here...
haven't had a problem with the T-Mobile IM app in logging in Google Talk. I think i put in my whole e-mail address as login/username.
Google talk in HD2?? Can anyone post a cab , i would appreciate it very much.
Yes... seen this problem
Select Options -> Settings from the bottom right menu. Enter your 10 digit mobile number in the MSISDN field. At least that's the way I got it to work. Problem with the GTalk that comes pre-installed on the phone is that it uses SMS messaging. I would recommend you look at Palringo messenger, which doesn't use SMS and can handle multiple IM Networks/Accounts.
I have followed all of the steps above and it gives error code 409 invalid user name and password. I can log into google on my PC just fine with my user and pass, but not on HD2. Any more ideas? Tmobile tech support has no idea
So I guess no one has figured this out
aie
no Idea dude sorry
I have even swapped out devices, called Tmobile tech support and HTC tech support. No one knows why it will not work. Someone out there has to know something! Damn google doesn't even have a help or tech support email address that I can find.
