I have read many threads about configuring mail. I have already setup my Gmail and created a .cab for it, but I am not finding anywhere that tells me how to find the one for for an exchange server.
I currently only am finding them for pop3 and IMAP.
Could someone please help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

I setup a mail2web email account with push access to my Cing 8125 and it works beautifully. I'm using this mostly, however, as a way to reliably get my gmail, so my gmail is forwarding to this address. I don't really want another "active" email address to give out, so I would like to be able to reply to the forwarded emails and have it appear as though it came from my gmail. I read mail2web's knowledge base and didn't find anything. Anybody know of a way?
I also need to know how to do something like this with outlook and pop3 adresses. I've got 4 emails set up with outlook and they all sync to my device just under "outlook email" that doesn't bother me. But what does is when someone sends me and email and i reply with my device, sync, and then later figure out that it replied through and email that it wasn't sent to.
I have different adresses for different people/occasions etc. So i don't really want a person thats emailing me on one account to know of my other account.
Looking to do this as well. Any ideas?
Did anyone find a way to do this? I would like to use mail2web service but I don't want to confuse people when I reply from @mail2web.com instead of @gmail.com
Thank you
This question may have already been asked, so if I get get hazed I'll live. At any rate I was wondering if, with all these roms being created if anyone of them addresses the issue of MS Outlook not notifying you if you have new mail in subfolders other than your inbox. I have an extensive tree of subfolders and it would be nice to be notified when I recieve mail from my different clients or my personal folders. Perhaps a rom already does this or there is a registry tweak! Anyone have any ideas for me? And yes, I have searched and have not really come up with an adequete solution. Thank you for your time.
Hi,
I have posted this as another thread but later thought about it, and it's more general rather then being specific to my device, certainly all wm6.1 devs and possabily earlier.
Basically i use my diamond to connect to my exchange server which hosts my personal mail, i have a forwarder which forwards all my mail to the exchange, so i can easily pick up my work mail from my personal exchange.
This is where my problem begins when i reply to a email or send it uses my exchange mail box.
I have added the work mail box to my phone with a rogue pop3 for source email so i am not pulling the same email from 2 sources, and specified smtp correctly and used the right username\pass.
I hoped by doing this when i send an email or replied it would ask me which account to send from however it uses which ever account you are in at the time of creating the mail.
I don't know if anyone else has achieved this or even tried anything similar.
Any suggestions welcomed.
thanks in advance
james
Hello together,
I have searched the whole forum but I didn't found something like that. I wonder because I think this is a good thing.
I have three email accounts for my PDA which I have to setup after each new ROM flash. I'm searching for how to make a cab file which make all setups like name, password, incomming and outgoing emailserver and so on for these three email accounts.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings Pudl
:O that would be nice!
setup up multiple emails and activesync would be awesome!
OK, apologies but there's no hand holding here as i can't remember exactly where it resides on this forum.
Do a search in the Dev and Hack section for SDAutorun and User Customisation as i seem to recall there being a discussion there for the creation of xml, and thus cabs, to create email accounts from a hard reset.
I have to say i have never tried any of it as i was provided with a CAB file for my Exchange configuration and other POP/IMAP email is handled by a third party app which can't be configured this way.
I apologize right off the bat for this thread if this is a repeat, and I surely hope it isn't as I searched the forums looking for a fix, but I found nothing.
I'm having issues setting up my bosses Outlook email account on her new captivate. I enter in the email address, the password, the server/domain name, all the info that I have, and it says that connecting to the email server has failed. I'm unsure if this is a limitation of 2.1 or if this is a user error.
If anyone has had success setting up Outlook email with the captivate please help!
Do you guys use Outlook webaccess?
in my case I clicked on the manual setting and had to do the following:
domain\user name
password
server address (ex: mail.theplaceiwork.com)
and selected SSL
this routed it through the outlook web servers instead of the internal exchange servers which are behind the firewall...
make sense?
