Does anyone know if the TellMe app has leaked out anywhere? Ive seen some demos and would like to try it out.
no it has not. im looking forward to this app too.
That's one of the sites I check frequently
I use voice command every day during my commute, and this looks like a great extension of that functionality. I've sent them an email about beta testing, but haven't heard anything back.

Audible.com is beta testing their app. if your a member and sign up for the beta test, I believe you will get the APK. Even if you're not a current customer but have some books in your library this may be of interest.
Mostly I'm wondering if anyone else is able to get the app working well enough on our heroes to be able to listen to a book on it yet?
The app works great and looks very polished but playing audio is too choppy. Audible support has promised a fix in the next rev but just thought I'd ask for others with experience around here!
Found out they issued a new build! Audio quality is stellar now, anyone else out there an Audible listener that's excited about this?
How are you guys getting a hold of the audible app? I'm a member and shot them an email about it, but I have yet to hear anything back from them. I would love to get this app!

TiKL for Android is a Push to Talk app that uses Voip. Just found this today on the market and have been playing around with it with some friends. Has great potential! I cant post links yet, (if someone could help me out and post one) just do a search for TiKL in the market.
Great app love it has g great potential. Love waking my wife up in the mornings with it. Needs a contacts widget so all you have to so is click on their person to chirp them

Found this app yesterday....Awesome.
Market search comes up empty...hmmm
ETA: found it. It's tikl, not tilk

Ok
someone please explain to me the usefulness of push to talk. I really never got it, and seriously want to understand how it is used and why it's different than calling someone? And I'm not being sarcastic. REALLY I AM NOT!
Is it just a "doesn't cost minutes" thing? Just a real world scenario where you would use this instead of calling would be great.
We run UPS and Generator tests at my job and there are like 5 of us that need to stay in constant contact with each other while the tests are going on. Some of us are on the first floor of the building, some are on the fourth floor and its way easier to just push to talk rather than dialing every time.

i have had this app for about 2 weeks now and i must say i like it alot..great potential and yet easy to use..i can see this app being around for quite some time with the amount of downloads and 4-5 star ratings from tons of users that have downloaded so far...
two things it needs
1. widget
2. some type of contact list instead of the pop down menu
thanks OP!!!!!!!!!
any way for me and my buddy to communicate with push to talk? he is on WM and IM on android.
Not at the moment. TiKL is only for android.
great app but kills my battery!
this is a nice app, and i dont want to scare anyone away from it but one time a friend of mine was still transmitting to me long after he stopped pressing the button and had put his phone down with the screen off. He wasent able to stop transmitting until after using a task kill

Havn't had that problem yet. It is still in beta remember.
Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about a justin.tv or twitch.tv app?
All I could find was a kinda dusty thread on the twitch.tv forums.
Probably the only thing I really miss having on WP7, gotta have my fix for Starcraft 2 streams and others. I remember ustream had an app, but it was pretty awful and I can't even find it anymore.
count me in!

+1
i guess it is because the streams that justin tv handle are flash-based. Someone correct me if im wrong. I donĀ“t know about the stream protocols on ustream, but since wp7 has no support for flash, a workaround is needed... even though, there are apps for sites like the old megavideo, i guess an app like that is a start point in terms of code...
Our last hope would be to wait until the release of windows phone 8, where there'll be support for native code. In that case it will be easier for someone to code such app...
But like you i certainly hope that this arrives soon to wp7 cuz i love to watch my favorite channels on jtv too and i'd love to be able to watch them while in the subway, when going to, or from work... cuz i do almost 2 hours daily just on transport
There is Jviewer

there is a free and non free one,, worked for me the twice I tried
Ok. So, I've done a bit of looking around, and it seems I'm looking for something a little strange. I was wondering if anyone would know how to set multiple notification sounds for the same notification; I want my phone to have, say, ten different notification sounds it will play at random, regardless of the notification, the app it came from, or who sent whatever it is my phone has just notified me of. For example, one text might come in, and it plays SOUND1, then another text comes in from the same person and it plays SOUND5. Then a FaceBook notification comes in, and it plays SOUND7.
Again, I'm not asking how to make separate notification sounds for different notifications- eg one for GMail, one for text, and one for FaceBook.
Thank you for looking into this and providing me with your knowledge.
I really don't know if you can do it, but give Tasker a go. It really works for this this type of stuff (and much more). Costs $6 though

Thanks for the idea, but it didn't work. At least now I can automate my phone.
good!
If anyone has any other ideas on how to do it, or even knows how to using Tasker that I have just missed, that would be really appreciated.
I am interested on the exactly the same feature. But it still doesn't exist (this or i don't know how to search properly). It's a shame that i can't create any app or script with my limited programming knowledges. If someone could help us with this, me and OP will be extremely grateful.
I was just wondering if you guys know any alternatives to Astrid as it is shutting down since Yahoo bought it.
Remember the Milk is suggested a lot but it is only useful if you pay $25 a year. Anybody know some free alternatives that work just as well if not better than Astrid?
This site brings up some good apps but has anybody actually tried some of them?
Where do you know Astrid is going to be shut down from?
I'm using it for a long time and it's great. I was using remember the milk for some time but it is strange, I don't like it.

The Astrid website and the emails they have sent out - Yahoo has bought them out and it's shutting down shortly. I've looked at a few of the recommended replacements but none of them is as good or easy as Astrid.
I'm using mainly Astrid android app. But I didn't get any emails.
I was using some apps long time ago but those were very poor...
Will have a look for some alternatives...

Sorry to drag up an old thread but theres a bit of an update. Astrid seems to have been picked up by another developer, a few of the features are missing (listed on the google play page) but it seems to be pretty good.

Astrid, I miss you so much!
Sorry to drag up this old thread again, but as I miss Astrid very much, I just have one question that keeps me up at night:
Why was it necessary to shut down Astrid?
I mean okay, Yahoo acquired Astrid. That's no problem for me. But when I buy a house, I do not burn it. I really don't understand why they shut down a very well running system. Can anybody explain this to me?
Some words to the posts so far:

Totally agree! I tried EVERY alternative. The closest to Astrid seems to be Wunderlist. I go with this now, but usability is by far not as good as it was with Astrid. I also made a suggestion do wunderlist: http://wunderlist.uservoice.com/for...se-just-implement-all-the-useful-settings-ast

I'm all ears. Your link is broken.
Hi,
It's now called 'Tasks (based on Astrid)' by Alex Baker. Seems quite active but it doesn't have the pure calendar widget support yet so I'm still on the original Astrid. Just trying out 'DGT GTD' which is looking very promising considering it's rock solid and still in alpha!
