Best fast and handy ROM ? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi guys-
I haven't flashed my Kaiser for a looooong looong time, but I guess now it's the right time to give it a fresh one.
I need a very fast ROM which will allow Opera to run on (I've struggled many times to get opera running), Tomtom 7, Google Maps, Office Mobile, and Skype for VoIP through Wifi (I'm abroad 95% of the year, so I really need this to work fine and fast).
I also need the wifi router stuff since I'm not often at home, thus I don't have any ADSL connection there, and I really need this wifi router stuff to run so I could get 3G over Wifi on my laptop at home during my vacation there.
I don't need any particular theme as the HyperDragon III I currently have is very nice and very readable (M2D at least is required).
So guys, could you advise any ROM that would fit my requirements ?
Thanks all in advance !
Cheers

Ok Not to be rude but how many times has this been cover? Please read the rules on starting a new thread. Roms are a personal choice. You want to make sure everything you want works. Do a little reading to find out. Next will come Flying fish heads lol

a new thread should not have been started for this please read rules about starting new threads.

The ATT stock rom is the fastest because ATT made it just for your phone.

Orbit 2 ROMs and Tomtom

I have just upgraded from O2 XDA Orbit 1 to 2 and would like to update the ROM, would like to get some advice before I do...
can I use the WWE 6.1 Update from HTC to update and "de-brand" my phone or do I need to use the O2 version ?
I was using Artemis Touch 3.0.1 Lite (With Mobile 6.1) on my old phone, and i love the look and the functionality of it, I was hoping the Orbit 2 was the same sort of thing but quicker and more stable, from a lot of posts here it seems that isn't the case ? Is there a cooked ROM that is as stable and functional as 3.0.1 Lite or should I stick with the factory ROM ?
What about Tomtom ? Version 6.01 does everything I want, is there any point in going to 7, ie fresher maps or whatever ?
What are peoples recommendations for making sure the jog dial rubber ring stays in place ? Is it worth pulling it off and fixing it on with superglue or gasket silicone or something else ?
Also, should I hang on to my old Orbit for a few weeks - just in case ...
looking forward to spending some more time on XDA-devs..
GF
If i were you i would go definitely to orbit 2, its fast and has every fetaures that you will need day by day.
You can flash cooked rooms to your taste.
About the tomtom, yes its worth upgrading too, the new tomtom7 has more improvements, and the maps are more detailed and more updated. Im going just to warn you , DONT REQUEST NO MAPS in this forum you will get banned.
good point

Well thanks for the info. I did get my Orbit 2... and surprise surprise the rubber ring ws missing...
And so I started on a painful run of trying to get a nice clean ROM similar to Meschle's Touch ROM on the Orbit. I chose an older ROM, Bepe's (Polaris_WWE_0.67_Standard_bepe) and thought hell, in for a penny, Id upate the Radio at the same time , as trawling through this forum heard good reports about the recent update Polaris_Radio_1.64.08.21 . Well I have now reflashed about 15 times, 3 different ROMs and 5 different Radios, trying to get one which WORKED... I mean it all looked good but either reception was awful or the speaker would buzz horribly, and the speaker would go off altogether. I went through all the radios, then went back to O2's original 6.1 update, and even then something was up with the reception/speaker. I thought that I had been sold a lemon. I thought ah hell lets try one of the recent ROMS, I had happened to download Syrius R4, and fook me, what a piece of work, and I love the Manila, all I can say is congratulations on an amazing ROM. I don't care for clean any more. I will even live with the dodgy looking clock. Because it is like the eye-phone in that it just works, and its all just logical, I love it ! Even text entry is superb with the new QWERTY keyboard. The radio is now at 1.59.42.15, and that seems rock solid, gps fix times are good, TT7 up and running, migrated traffic from old machine, came back here to say thanks udK !!
Oh yeah and after using the phone for 1 day I managed to crack the digitizer , in the top right corner, but it all seems to be working fine, I won't be forking out £60 for the repair till I REALLY need to...
gf
Thank to hear you that everythng it sorted out. its really a magnificent mobile. Do you till got that buzzy sound from the speaker? And that about the digitalizer thats bad, cause its more fragile now, if you have the mobile in your pocket and you apply more pressure u can break the rest of it

AT&T in New York with Fuze

Hey all,
I'm surprised not to have seen more comments about this but my AT&T service on my Fuze is simply horrible. I live in Manhattan.
- The phone, when it connects is ok. But I'd say (to be fair) that that fails about 4 out of 10 times.
- Data is a whole other mess. Email is about 50 - 50 in terms of its ability to download without an error synching message. The browsers are about 50 - 50 as well with their ability to connect. And when they do, I might as well be on a 'G' network. Sometimes as slow as t-zones on my old Motorola T-mobile clamshell phone.
- Once every 10 days or so, my messages can delay up to 6 hours in reaching me or getting to my intended contact person.
- No application, not even Google Maps can get a connection to GPS. Not with any of the applications created for getting it to work better. It doesn't happen period. I can't even get Bing or Google to find me half the time.
This can't be normal and certainly isn't worth what I'm paying. I'm using NATF's v5.7 WM6.5 ROM. I have the radio that he has on there (1.02.25.32).
So my question is this:
1. Any suggestions for what I can do to get functionality again on a clogged network with iphone users? Sorry to blame Apple, but this didn't happen before the 3GS purchasing boom.
2. Any tricks for getting out of my plan early?
Thanks, all!
I'd recommend the 1.12.25.19 radio with matching rilphone, or the 1.17 raphael radio.
The 1.12 worked for me the best and you should get an EnergyROM. Just my opinion on the ROM
BTW, I live in the Brooklyn area, so these radios would probably work good for you also.
Thanks so much for the answer. And from someone right here at home no less! So does that mean I have to do two processes? Flashing the radio AND the rilphone cab? Bit confused. How's the GPS, data and phone connection on that radio?
What is it exactly that leans you towards the Energy ROMs? Any reason as well why there are different version names? Is it just a stylistic thing or are there reasons for the various names.
I have the same radio...also in NYC, Brooklyn, but I travel to the city everyday. GPS is pretty good, don't use data, and phone connection is great. I'm on an OEM touch pro but i think it uses the same antenna anyway. I've had some problems when I bought the phone b4 I upgraded the radio. You have to flash a new HardSPL (correct me if im wrong, I did it a while back) and then flash the radio like you would flash a regular rom.
Hey guys,
Thanks for your help. I've been using this radio today and so far no major issues. But I haven't really tested it yet. However, trying to install the rilphone.dll caused the phone to lock in Airplane mode. I'm using the NATF 6.5 ROM version 5.7. I didn't think it needed a nx.exe patch but maybe it does?
Any ideas? Do I need the rilphone.dll?

WOWPad etc. update

Hi everybody.
Just thought Id let you know that I recently got my WOWPad, and except for a few software glitches, after a bit of tinkering with, have now been able to:
1: Put on a 128GB Memory stick (yes GB not MB)
2: Run internet from my USB 3G Stick, with broadband speed, not GPRS
Im currently in the UK, and internet access is through Vodafone.
I will put on here at some stage the tools and guide on what i did to get it running
Wopad woes....
Same boat.. countless bug after bug.. would be great if we could get everything we needed to roll our own rom for this device. These god damn chinatab makers wanna sell ya trash, then flat out refuse to release the sources needed to make your purchased trash useful...
Seems not much pride has been taken in the OS port.. But hey, what can you expect from people working for half a grain of rice a day..
Hi
Any details of how to you got this working?
Thanks
G

[Q] 7.8 Sianto Edition questions

Hello all, I have a couple questions about the WP7.8 Sianto Edition for the HTC Arrive. I have the Sprint Arrive and am considering putting this rom on my phone. First I would like to know if anyone knows what kind of unlock it has, if any. Also, does the USB Tethering work in the 1.6 for the Arrive? I see it listed for the 1.6.1 for the 7 Pro..
And does anyone have any input on how reliable this rom is? I am looking for forward to the 2.0L that is said to be coming soon. As of late my phone has gotten so slow and my data connection speed is terrible lately. It seems every week it gets worse and I am having many apps just crash to the home screen and apps that rely on the data like radio apps just take forever to even open now. My wife has this same phone on the same network and hers is not having any of these issues.
Thanks for your replies.
Anyone know? Planning to download the rom tomorrow but want to know about the unlock first. I have yet to HSPL my phone but will when I have all my questions sorted out.
Hi mate!
Concerning the slow speeds, if you upgraded your phones memory by swapping the sd card, the two can be related (for example, my youtube videos are very sluggish while streaming). I Have an international 7 pro (no carrier branding) and it's been 10 months since my last hard reset (when I upgraded the memory from 8 to 32 gigs) and i am also experiencing very slow load times, but I don't know about the apps crashing. Data loading is also a bit slow on my side (on some apps while refreshing) but internet explorer just works fine.
But I remember the phone working just fine right after the memory upgrade, so my guess is that constantly adding and erasing apps and files like videos, music and pictures are kind of messing up the responsiveness of the system.
PS: Sorry for my response not being specific enough to your case. I didn't want to reply at first but since the 7 pro forums aren't much populated lately, I thought that my idea on the subject could help.

thanks for your reply, i was starting to think i wasnt getting one! lol but yea my phone is very slow compared to my wifes phone and has been since i got it. before the mango update it was laggy just scrolling on the Start screen. im hoping it is just the ROM that came on the phone, so thats partly why i want to update to the 7.8.. also i want the unlock benefits, but i cant seem to find if the Sianto ROM is unlocked or not.

For one, yes, the Sianto ROM IS unlocked.
And for another, the first time I loaded the Sianto ROM on my phone, it was at v1.4, I believe. After going through the steps, my phone was it's fastest ever, and I loved my phone even more than when I had first gotten it. Things were great for about a week, until tragedy struck: an app I installed from the Bazaar marketplace while at school basically bricked my phone. So, I borrowed a friends phone, let people know I would be incommunicado, and waited out the day. When I got home, I immediately came here to XDA, and tried to remember which ROM I had loaded, but wasn't able to get the same computer I had originally used. I remembered Sianto's name, but then saw ansar's ROM, and decided to try that one.
Long story fairly short: I switched back to Sianto after about a day, and haven't looked back since.
I don't know about USB tethering, but the internet sharing works in v1.6, and I especially like that Digital Power was added to the Settings. Every time I flashed my phone before, I had to reinstall Digital Power, but not with this version!
All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend Sianto v1.6, and I know that when v2.0L comes out, I'm definitely going to flash it.
Hope I helped.
