Hi guys!
I own an Xda II and I'm thinking of upgrading it to WM 2005.
After having a look around I'm a bit confused as I'm sure are a lot of other people because there's so many different versions of WM5 to choose from on this forum that I don't know which one to go for.
Could someone please recommend the best and most stable version of WM5?

well, its same with me a long time ago..
don't worry guys.. after several looking in this page, there's a several rom for WM2005 which is :
1. Helmi AKU3.5
2. C_Shekhar Rom AKU 3.50C (the newest rom)
3. other (like virgy, etc)
In my Opinion, you should try c_shekhar rom. its very nice looking (crossbow theme), more stable, quite fast..
hope you find the suitable rom.

I was reluctant to respond to this but some how I find myself compiled to post my comment. I have XDA2 and I am using llbasha rom. All the roms have the same core structure except of adding/removing some freebies and here is my latest version that has been tested and verified by independent users (special thanks to twistedconnections and maslowyk). Important Note:

Always clean/embty your old ramdisk before burning new rom.

Go for llbasha's rom. I have been using it since the first version that was release by him. Fast and stable.

tofclock new ROM is great.. but i found out there is no MMS funtion..
how can enabled the MMS function in Tofclock ROM?? and i already installed old ArcsoftMMS.cab (v.2.0).. and i can setting the MMS but still no MMS function..ermm..
sorry for poor english..
p/s: where can i find ArcMMS.cab for new version.. **NooBie**

Thanks, will definitely try this. I am running the previous version (V4) now, which I like, with the exception of SIPs not working -- TouchPal, PCMKeyboard, Diamond keyboards -- none work. I hope this one works.
Leo, a couple of suggestions:
- Include Diamond keyboard in your build. Others may prefer TouchPal, etc. but Diamond keyboards are free, so it would be a nice touch
- If there is a way to not show the video dialer, that'd be great. I'd rather not install another dialer on top, and I don't have any use for video dialing (AT&T/US). I do like the feel of that dialer otherwise
- Include HTCHomeCustomizer
- Include changes similar to what Sleuth does with "TurboMode" (change glyphcache limit, turn on filesystem caching, set a large file cache size)

Are 1.65.xxxx radios compatable with this rom? or just 1.64.xxx and the 1.58.xxx radios? From my past rom flashes I've found it's usually one lot or the other
in the Blackstone ROM thread, Maranello's work called HDWall http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511
has several recent updates using Manila Files from the HD2
as many ROM chefs in the Blackstone thread has managed to port the HD2 ROM
to the Blackstone. I for one, has succesfully used HDWall on Laurentius L26V4
which is based on Manila 2.5.1922

Ok, am trying to cook ,my first rom and have been crashing here and there. One thing I have managed to realise now is that I am missing one crucial ingredient, i.e. the Base Rom. Didn't make sense previously until I realised that I was using a WM6.1 nbh. I have tried searching the forum for the wm6.5 base rom but all I can find in Kaiser is the WM6.1. May you assist please!!!

Could anybody tell me, where I can find the latest (most stable ROM) for the Polaris (XDA Orbit 2) fitting the following criteria:
- WM 6.5
- German user interface
- Manilla 2d or other/better
Currently I'm running the latest Version of Alex-V i found. But my XDA is not very stable with it. I think, there is less memory free. Running my navigation software, it often breaks down with "low memory" failure message. And any other application and event is very slow.
Coud you recommend me a ROM (WM 6.5 with German interface)?
Is there any german WM6.5 ROM which still is in development? Or in other words: is there any cooker who still is active for a german polaris rom?
