Best Windows Mobile 2005 For Xda 2

Hi guys!
I own an Xda II and I'm thinking of upgrading it to WM 2005.
After having a look around I'm a bit confused as I'm sure are a lot of other people because there's so many different versions of WM5 to choose from on this forum that I don't know which one to go for.
Could someone please recommend the best and most stable version of WM5?

well, its same with me a long time ago..
don't worry guys.. after several looking in this page, there's a several rom for WM2005 which is :
1. Helmi AKU3.5
2. C_Shekhar Rom AKU 3.50C (the newest rom)
3. other (like virgy, etc)
In my Opinion, you should try c_shekhar rom. its very nice looking (crossbow theme), more stable, quite fast..
hope you find the suitable rom.

I was reluctant to respond to this but some how I find myself compiled to post my comment. I have XDA2 and I am using llbasha rom. All the roms have the same core structure except of adding/removing some freebies and here is my latest version that has been tested and verified by independent users (special thanks to twistedconnections and maslowyk). Important Note:
WlanMgr does not work but does not effect the WiFi functions and I am using this rom with Spectec SDW-821 (WLAN 802.11b/g) without problem. I have also been informed that Ambicom SDIO card works fine as well.
As always, flash at your own risk...any un-official rom is released for testing.
Always clean/embty your old ramdisk before burning new rom.

Go for llbasha's rom. I have been using it since the first version that was release by him. Fast and stable.

tofclock new ROM is great.. but i found out there is no MMS funtion..
how can enabled the MMS function in Tofclock ROM?? and i already installed old ArcsoftMMS.cab (v.2.0).. and i can setting the MMS but still no MMS function..ermm..
sorry for poor english..

Guess its time to start reading the thread on how to change the language of a rom ... If this can be uploaded in the next 24 hours I'll look at working on it this weekend. Otherwise it will probably be a week before I could dig into it (but it sounds interesting)...

I can't access the link though, does anyone know if VoIP is included in this?
Every ROM so far (except the 5.2.318 - Builds 15341 & 15342, but even these have problems) have had issues with the VoIP stuff working in conjunction with the L2TP/IPSec VPN (Enterprise files). I have had to stay with the 5.2.318 (15342) build to allow me to use both VoIP & L2TP/IPSec, however they are mutually exclusive - once you have started VoIP or connected via USB to ActiveSync then L2TP/IPSec will not work unless the Wizard is soft reset.
If this ROM fixes these issues I will be very pleased, lets wait and see

Wow just after 3 days of my post about PDAViet's release of v2.61.25, they came up with another Rom release for the Universal. Great cookers!!!!Now this seems to be a new build and i already started flashing it. I love the work of Ranju, Darkforce, Frankzhang911, KDSKamal, Thing...but still i am a great fan of PDAViet for their roms on my Blueangel and Universal. Here it is the newest rom for the universal. had bad experience with pdaviet prev rom v2.61.24. gonna wait for some feedback 1st b4 installing this rom.

I'll sitck to frank_zhang911 wonderful ROM.

So far its really good with working flashdisk and wifi and no problems with sat nav 4hr trip too.. only flaw no 3g icon. stable fast and a keeper, Sorry typing with 1 hand my son in other, Well worth it fellas give it a go...

Hi..Ranju's 7.4 was awesome and worked fine. But i am not sure what went wrong when it came for speed and stability with my O2 Exec. This is a mod version of Ranju's rom and so definitely you can expect all bugs and con's fixed up. The rom is not loaded with unwanted stuff. Comparing both i can rate Ranju 7.4 as 4/5 and this PDAviet as 4.5/5
But trust me after installing 7 roms i found only this well suited for my pda.
Radio 1.15.00 was the radio installed in PhamQuangs universal. You can always upgrade your radio to 1.18.00(downloading from Xda-developers ftp).

Radio 1.15.00 was the radio installed in PhamQuangs universal. You can always upgrade your radio to 1.18.00(downloading from Xda-developers ftp).

Please post your comments on the rom if you have flashed it..everything works great with my O2 Exec. I flashed the rom,upgraded radio to 1.18.00,installed spb pocket plus,snapvue theme(only the tsk-I love black),and a few more of my essential packs.Checked almost every need of mine

Yes, it seems icredible, but WPA-TKIP in this ROM still requires that old activation-deactivation-reactivation trick.
Besides, neither of the ROMs with build 19202 released so far, i.e. PDAVIET's and Frank's, have a flash disk included, for what I'm performing fast tests on the newer ROMs and keep returning to Ranju's v7.4 unmatchable one within hours.
Just my 2 cents...

Looking for a copy of Dr. Gonzo's Windows mobile 6.1 v1.0b

Hi all,
Sorry for the double post,
I'm looking for a copy of the Windows mobile 6.1 v1.0b for Vox verison of Dr. Gonzo's ROM.
This was the last version that allowed me to run Microsoft's Live Communication 2005. It's the version my company uses (Wish they would upgrade soon). The 6.1 V1.1 ROM does not allow it to run.
Any help locating this version?

and a europe original rom would be great just in case I have to use the warranty

Thanks for the link to the site but I checked and could not find the 6.1 v1.0b ROM file. I managed to find the 0.5 ROM file from Dr. Gonzo. I'll still hope for some kind VOX user to post the file for me or let me know where I can pull it from.
I'd actually prefer if my company upgraded to the latest version of Microsoft Live Communicator .... But that is not likely to happen anytime soon, so I'm stuck.

Uploading 1.0 right now, I am not sure if it's the original 1.0 or 1.0b release, version notes indicate 1.0, based on HTC 1.34 ROM. I do believe there are only cosmetic differences however. Hopefully a true 1.0b can be uploaded and posted by Rolandh soon.

Actually, I do speak and read Vietnamese. Basically, he posted to alert people that he is working on manila 2D ROM, and was asking people for their input.
He is working on it, and will post the ROM soon.

That's normal for Youtube, it's a known issue so far for all Manilla releases.

Have more screenshots ?
