Bizzare problem with Kaiser WM6.1 - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Deal all,
I am a relative newbee at all this, but I have read the forums extensively and decided to flash my ROM after a HTC ****-up that left it using Polish language WM6.1 (long story).
I followed all the steps from Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835) to the letter. Then I flashed StockKaiser WM6.1 and afterwards Phoenix 3.1. I was too used to the old style of ROM, so then I reverted back to KaiserStock 6.1.
I have this bizzare problem now - the phone works fine, that is, until someone calls me. I answer, there is no sound, and after that the entire device is mute, no sound at all, playing music, videos or whatever.
This is my config:
ROM version: 3.34.721.2 WWE (date 09/30/08)
Radio version: 1.71.OliNex
Protocol version: 25.65.30.04H
Any help would be most appreciated guys, please!
All the best,
Vedad.

I would try a different radio rom. Probably installing the stock rom also installed an old radio rom. I had same problem and this was the fix.

hmmm, ok, will do

You have the radio required for the unlocker. Just flash a new Radio and you'll be fine .
EDIT: any more problems, just post mskips guide.

Which ROM to use? (I've read tons of old post)

I have read a bunch of post on this but still not finding the answers. So, please forgive me if this is a repeat question.
I browsed thru the ftp site (under the Magician folder), but not sure of which ROM to download since there are so many of them and not sure of which is the most stable version (O2, i-mate, qtek, MDA?).
I have the O2 XDA II mini with the following version:
- ROM version: 1.03.00 WWE.
- ROM date: 11/01/04
- Radio version: 1.01.00
- Protocol version: 1337.38
- ExtROM version: 1.03.166 WWE
Or, should I use the one that I downloaded from seeo2.com site: the filename is:
ma_o2asia_11100_922_11100_ship.exe?
Also, when I update the ROM, would it lock my phone? I bought the phone in USA so I assume the phone is unlock.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
William
I'd use the Qtek S100 1.11 ROM (it's what i use now) as it's completely stable (1.12 seems not to be..) and then apply bigstorage to it..
How about the O2 ROM? I'd like to stay with O2 ROM (instead of using the Imate or Qtek ROM). Could anybody point me to the correct ROM to use? I browsed around the ftp but there are so many of them (extrom, bigstorage, modified, shipped). Thanks for the help!

The O2 ROM on their website was put up in May and is v1.11 and it's working OK for me.
I bought a T-Mobile Compact, and someone had loaded the I-Mate 1.11 ROM on there. I kept having a problem wth the GPRS failing to connect. I then upgraded to the 1.12 ROM, and it was even worse. I kept the 1.12 radio, and then downgraded to the basic 1.06 ROM. It is stable, and honestly, I don't see what the differences are besides now I can connect to GPRS whenever I want.
I also applied the bigstorage hack, and only applied the basic extended ROM cab files from 1.12 and the bluetooth patch from 1.06. I received my Compact last week, and applied 1.06 yesterday. So far, no issues have cropped up. Man, this Compact is so much less buggy than my MDAIII. The MDAIII was so feature packed, but had sooo many problems.
Hope that helps.
plz, give me a link to O2 1.11eng, i cannot log to o2 as my iemi belongs to imate, thanks

Prophet Radio Rom Only Updaters (add some)

Dear friends
Are there any RUU installers for Prophet's Radio part of the ROM only, the way they are available for Wizards?
To be exact I have problems with GPRS roaming on home network's setings with Qtek S200 AKU2 WWE ROM,
Radio part 02.07.20,
and would like to change radio ROM to
02.19.21
that I've seen is available integrated to newer Dopod ROMs
Ps. the same problem occured with my Wizard's radio ROM (that's how I know what to blame), changed it to 2.25 and woks like a charm!
..and to add to my question:
Can Radio ROMs from Wizzard be used on Prophets?
If so, can this Radio ROMS, available on the popular Wizzard thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=52952&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=) be used in any Prophet?

I'm using Radio 02.30.21 which I got from
http://www.pdamobiz.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=66604&PN=1
It works fine on my G3 i-mate, but I don't know what the differences are from the previous version.

I just downloaded and installed the G4 version on my XDA Neo (JAMin ROM). It worked fine. I also noticed there might be some signal boost since I got better signal in the same area. But I am not 100% sure yet.
Thanks!
But could you please explain where did this 02.30.21 Radio come from? (Is it from DOPOD 2.15 ROM or from Wizard ROMs?)
I used some Thai to english service to find out that it came from the French ROM that we have on XDA FTP..
Tried the G4 Radio ROM on my SPV M600 with Dopod ROM.
Had 3 reboots in one day.. .think I just reflash my device with the Dopod ROM and watch this thread for a while
can you supply us with the Dopod radio rom?
Sorry for the misunderstanding.. ..I'm using the Dopod ROM together with the radio ROM mentioned above: Radio 02.30.21 from PDAMobiz.
Will installing this update hard reset my xda neo?
I wouldn't like to reinstall all my software.... :?
radio g4 updated
I installed the G4 update 2.30... All right!!
No it doesn't.. ..it only updates the Radio part without hard resetting
Hello,
Is there any problem upgrading this Radios Roms on my Portuguese Qtek???
What Radio rom should I upgrade, the G3 or the G4??
you have to have AKU2 rom:
if it's 2.XXXXX.00001 then G4, otherwise G3 ... But you can try with G3 flash and the update utility will not alow you to finish the proces if it's not for your ROM - then just take G4 and flash it
And what if anything goes wrong?? Is there anything to avoid a Hard Reset??

I installed the G4 Radio ROM in my imate Jamin ROM 0000, it installed and worked ok, but then I read this thread, I decided that my device must be G3...anyway, I installed G3 and it also works fine. What would happen if I left the G4 version on it ...Kablueeeee! ?

no need to hard reset your device! With radio ROM only you will not loose any data
the worst thing you can do is kill your GSM signal and telephone part, you can still backup all your data and reflash with your original ROM (regardless of it beiing older than radio version)
I reflashed my SPV M600 with the Dopod ROM and went back from Radio 02.30.21 (French ROM), to the Radio 02.19.21.
The radio part from the French ROM made my device reboot to many times. Mostly when I was on the phone for more than 15 minutes.
is it really a problem to use G4 radio rom on a device that is supposed to use G3?!?
I upgraded my Qtek S200 with the lastest french rom... it is supposed to have the latest radio rom... but I have some problem with it... sometimes, it loose the signal for no reason... sometimes when I try to send a sms, I get "phone not ready"... the auto-disconnect for gprs does not work correctly after I send a mms... sometime I can not hang up after a call, I have to soft-reset..
So used the G4 radio rom on my device (2.xxx.0000 IPL/SPL), and now it works fine... I do not have any problem with it... all functions are working fine...
Wizard's radios can be flashed to Prophets!!
2.47.11 is the latest and people are delighted with it:

Is the WM5 AKU2.2 NVID rom a usable rom?

I see that the NVID rom is used a lot as a first step in flashing to WM6 roms. My Question is whether this rom is usable as the primary ROM? Or does it miss/lack a lot of things in the extRom that would normally get installed?
I'm planning to downgrade to WM5 after using WM6 for a while and deciding which rom to use. =)
Thanks,
Quick bump for weekend crew
no, this is a doctored rom for temp use only.
The PDAviet step 1 rom is the best one to use for the purpose of upgrading to wm6, even for non-PDAviet roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308266
You use the upgrade utility exe, in the extraction, that corresponds to either G3 OR G4, whatever device you have.
If you like to turn back to WM5, the best ROM every posted is the ASERG's one. Its 100% stable and you wont believe how fast it is. After testing all those WM6 ROMs i switched back to ASERGs ROM. its simply the best for using a "fast" prophet. All the WM6 roms become slower and slower with every new third-party software you install.
here is the post with the download links to the ASERG AKU3.3.13:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1179977&postcount=415
And here is the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=292925&page=42&highlight=aserg.rar
Start reading all posts starting at the bottom with #415, somewhere it is explained how to downgrade. [dont ask me where it is exactly, the thread became to long and i dont like to search now , please do it on your own] the steps from this thread are working for the downgrade process from WM6 to ASERGs WM5.

Thanks everyone.
Good to know that the NVID rom is not usable... I wonder what makes PDAVIET's step 1 rom better?
After there was no big improvement in the PDAViet 4.0000.3 ROM, I think i'll go back to the *old* dopod AKI 2.15 ROM since that rom doesn't have the slow SIP option bug... Thanks for the recommendation of ASERG's rom. I'll give it a try =)
I've been having a single serious problem with all the WM6 ROMs I've tried, as well as with Aserg's latest 3.3 ROM.
The phone will intermittently not recieve calls. The caller is quickly diverted to voice mail, and I get no ring, no notification of a missed call, and no message waiting indicator.
I have gone from Fantastic Mobitz 1.1i to PDAViet 4.0.0.0.3 to Aserg 3.3 without resolution. I have tried Radio ROMs 2.47.21, 2.61.21, and 2.69.21 without success in all of them.
At this point, I just want to downgrade to the latest shipped WWE ROM, which is AKU 2.2. As expected, it is removed from the xda-dev ftp site. I've googled the web, read the WIKI, and searched this site for a download link. Does anyone have a link to the AKU 2.2 WWE ROM?

Much thanks - I have it now.
Earlier in the post, someone replied that this ROM is inadequate by itself for regular use. Is anything important missing? I assumed it is the same as the shipped version except for the NVID part.

That's the ROM I've been using myself for quite some time and has worked flawlessly for quite some time now. I can install and uninstall anything without discernible problems. I have more than 1500 SMS' saved without performance issues, and battery life is very good under normal usage (I also have batterystatus plug-in)
Recently I've been having problems but it probably is more related to the software I've been using (GPSProxy, Que)

A2DP Problems after upgrade to WM6

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum and I would like to post a question for you all.
After the upgrade of my Qtek 9100 to WM6 (ROM is core 2), I have big issues with my BT headset (Sony DR-B720NX) and A2DP.
The audio drops many times (and then come back again); this problem was not present using mobile 5 with the addition of A2DP support.
Let me say that I'm happy with CORE 2 ROM, but this problem with A2DP is making me creazy!
I've tried to add some new settings in the registry but with no success.
Could some one help me?
Is there a patch to improve A2DP quality?
Is there a mose stable ROM that I can use?
Below you'll find some more additional info.
ROM version: 10.2.0.8 WWE
ROM date: 2/03/07
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol version: 4.1.13.12
OS 5.2.968 (Build 15341.2.0.0) Core 2.0
IPL: 2.26
SPL: 2.26
GSM: 2.25.11
0S: 10.2.0.8
Thanks to all. Your help is really appreciated
First, look for Schaps configuration tool and install that. It has easy settings for modifying the A2DP parameters in the Registry. If after tweaking and trying that it doesn't work for you, then try another rom. I use A2DP on my roms (XM6r3 and XM6r4) and I don't get the dropouts as I've tweaked around on the paramters for what works for my headphones (Spiders).
There are other roms that people report good results with A2DP. Just telling you my experience.
Oh, and XM6r3 has HTC Audio Manger in it. XM6r4 has MortPlayer in it. Both still have WMP but I like these other apps better.
Hi mfrazzz,
Thanks for your suggestion. I installed the configuration tool, I set the following values:
Use Joint stereo -> enabled
Bit pool -> 60
Max bit pool -> 80
But the issue is still present. Do you have any suggested parameters?
I would like to make some more attempts before flashing another ROM.
Thanks again for your help.
I know how you feel ....
I know exactly how you feel mate , I've gone through the mental agony of flashing a new ROM with all the expectations in the world , only to find out that bluetooth skips like a 6 year old hyperactive kid on a pogo stick .....
IMHO , The fact of the matter is , some ROM's are kicka** for A2DP , while some others are not . XM6 was awesome , but XMR3 gave me some trouble . So did CORE2 , so I never even gave them a run more than for 1 day . None of the pagepool or A2DP settings worked .
So I suggest you find yourself a good ROM to start with ( Nothing personal
against the ROM you are using ..... )
I would highly recommend TNT 1933 .
BTW , I also use a sony ( BTDR30Q )
Good luck......
Thanks dakshithaw,
I think I will follow your suggestion to flash TNT 1933 ROM, but, since I'm quite new to ROM flashing (and I don't want to make some disasters), I have a stupid question for you...
Is it possible to apply the TNT 1933 ROM directly (Actually I'm using a core 2.0 ROM), or should I repeat all the steps from the beginning? (as described in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613).
Thanks for your help and sorry to bother you.
Hmmm...

Don't mean to sound inconsiderate , but I honestly can't remember what that post said , and I'm a bit too busy to go thru it right now ....
What I would suggest is , flash a stock rom , then shell-tool the TNT rom .
Hope that solves your problem , cos a Sony headset is a terrible thing to waste ( not to mention a perfectly good Wizard )
Thanks dakshithaw!
I followed your suggestion! I flashed TNT 1933 ROM and it's great! No more AD2P problems, very stable.
Thanks again!

Default Kaiser Rom???
Just got a Kaiser for ATT USA, i have it updated to the WM6.1 from ATT. But I'd really like to use on the cooked ROMs from this site. I've used a lot when I had a T-Mobile Wing.
Here is info on my phone
Rom Ver: 3.57.502.2 WWE
Radio: 1.65.21.18
What ROMs can I use?
NOTE: I'm still using T-Mobile and would like something that will work with the MMS and email...
NEW COMMENTS:
Maybe I should have worded that differently...
What I mean is that I am a new Kaiser owner, I do NOT know how to update the ROM, I took the suggestion at the end of my first post which was to read the Sticky's. I did that I followed different directions. HOWEVER, i can not get the hardSPL to update or install. So that is now my question. If that won't update, I won't be able to update my ROM???
Please do not make new threads when threads exist.
[Resources] Flashing Your First Kaiser Rom (For Noobs)
Follow guide any ?'s ask in the thread.
Closed.
You should put this post in the Kaiser General Question, cos more people will help you out then, i havent had my HTC TyTN II long and i followed the instructions from the stickies and everything worked, i installed hardspl without no problems whatsoever, so i dnt know whats going wrong with yours, normally when the phone starts up it should tell you which hardspl you have in red writing along with Radio version and Rom info, if you tried to install hardspl 3.29 and it worked then it will say that when the phone begins.
