Are there any RUU installers for Prophet's Radio part of the ROM only, the way they are available for Wizards?
To be exact I have problems with GPRS roaming on home network's setings with Qtek S200 AKU2 WWE ROM,
Radio part 02.07.20,
and would like to change radio ROM to
02.19.21
that I've seen is available integrated to newer Dopod ROMs
Ps. the same problem occured with my Wizard's radio ROM (that's how I know what to blame), changed it to 2.25 and woks like a charm!
..and to add to my question:
Can Radio ROMs from Wizzard be used on Prophets?
If so, can this Radio ROMS, available on the popular Wizzard thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=52952&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=) be used in any Prophet?

I just downloaded and installed the G4 version on my XDA Neo (JAMin ROM). It worked fine. I also noticed there might be some signal boost since I got better signal in the same area. But I am not 100% sure yet.

But could you please explain where did this 02.30.21 Radio come from? (Is it from DOPOD 2.15 ROM or from Wizard ROMs?)
I used some Thai to english service to find out that it came from the French ROM that we have on XDA FTP..
Tried the G4 Radio ROM on my SPV M600 with Dopod ROM.
Had 3 reboots in one day.. .think I just reflash my device with the Dopod ROM and watch this thread for a while

you have to have AKU2 rom:
if it's 2.XXXXX.00001 then G4, otherwise G3 ... But you can try with G3 flash and the update utility will not alow you to finish the proces if it's not for your ROM - then just take G4 and flash it
And what if anything goes wrong?? Is there anything to avoid a Hard Reset??

I installed the G4 Radio ROM in my imate Jamin ROM 0000, it installed and worked ok, but then I read this thread, I decided that my device must be G3...anyway, I installed G3 and it also works fine. What would happen if I left the G4 version on it ...Kablueeeee! ?

no need to hard reset your device! With radio ROM only you will not loose any data
the worst thing you can do is kill your GSM signal and telephone part, you can still backup all your data and reflash with your original ROM (regardless of it beiing older than radio version)
I reflashed my SPV M600 with the Dopod ROM and went back from Radio 02.30.21 (French ROM), to the Radio 02.19.21.
The radio part from the French ROM made my device reboot to many times. Mostly when I was on the phone for more than 15 minutes.
is it really a problem to use G4 radio rom on a device that is supposed to use G3?!?
I upgraded my Qtek S200 with the lastest french rom... it is supposed to have the latest radio rom... but I have some problem with it... sometimes, it loose the signal for no reason... sometimes when I try to send a sms, I get "phone not ready"... the auto-disconnect for gprs does not work correctly after I send a mms... sometime I can not hang up after a call, I have to soft-reset..
So used the G4 radio rom on my device (2.xxx.0000 IPL/SPL), and now it works fine... I do not have any problem with it... all functions are working fine...
Wizard's radios can be flashed to Prophets!!

I have several S200, Portoguese, German and a into CHS changed Chinese version.
The Portoguese version has this .0001 problem.
What bothers me is, that the chinese version has the radio rom version 01.12.20.
Whilst I am looking at the German version I see a 02.07.20, so in my opinion there is something wrong.
The chinese one has a terrible network connection, so I would like to flash the radio ROM with the 02.07.20 version.
But as I learned romupdate does not dump the ROM cause of missing rights however.
Is there any way to dump a radio ROM or is it possible to flash the Wizard's ROM on a S200?
BTW if someone is interesting in some unchanges devices....

My reeption on my Qtek s200 is very bad also. Sometimes people just do not hear me. Radio version : 2.19.21 (From dopod rom). Is there a way to change only radio rom (like with wizzard) Or can I even Flash the radio rom from Wizzard?

Yeah, it's no problem to downgrade! I played yesterday with some different WM5 ROM's (Orange UK, Qtek and O2) on my G4 XDA Neo and had no prpoblems at all time!

first of all: i want to install a wm6 version, but i don't know which one ... I have G4 model..can you give me an advice? also, i want without bugs if i can (that's the first reason that i didn't try yet)... i mean, to connect on wap, to work fine the new wm6...if you know what is the "perfect" version to install on my device, i am waiting your opinion
There is no "perfect" WM6 yet but the SMART1 WM6 Rom (clear) it's quite good... in this thread they talk about it and is litle bugs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295225
I tried Smart1's WM6 ROM and successfully downgraded it to WM5 (I-mate) portuguese ROM by just using the normal procedure.
The problem is it doesn't work properly with Windows Vista. Don't try to upgrade to WM6 on Vista as it wont work properly!

Just a question about downgrading - I read somewhere in the forum that it is important NOT to downgrade to a lower IPL or SPL because it will brick the device. is it so?

I liked WM6 but I have to remove it because it is only compatible with ActiveCrap 4.5, which doesn't support outlook 2000 anymore (version used at my office) .

Yes, you can do it safely! My Neo is a G4 too and I switched often between smart1 clear WM6, the official O2 update, ASerg's 3.3.12 US nad the Qtek 2.20 with no problems!

HI I am using I-mate jasjar and upgrade to Wm 6. After that there is no video call option on that. Now I want to downgrade to WM 5. How can I do this? Where can I download WM 5? Please send all the details to my email [email protected].

softreset is automatically.
no need of HARDRESET.

What's the purpose of upgrading the radio rom? Will it give my prophet 3G network compatibility or something? Do you mind writing just 1 line of the benefiits of upgrading for each of your ROMS? I find you have contributed a lot but I just dont understand it. I've read the wiki too. I'm still using default ROM 2.15 with WM5

Flashing a Radio ROM will upgrade the software used for call handling, bluetooth and WiFi. It will not give you any functionality like 3G, but may increase Reception, and reliability of other Radios. It may also alter battery life.
If it's working fine at the moment, there is no real need to upgrade.
I'm download this Radio Rom and hoping it'll cure my problem.
How do I flash this Radio ROM? Do I use the Wizard Service Tool V4? A amature question so please bare. Unless it has its own execution then disregard my question
I enter the phone into Bootloader and ran Radio ROM 2.19.21 which is what I had original and program indicate "Error [300]: Invalid Update Tool. This update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get a newer Update Utility."
So I tried other version and getting the same message. I'm very confused, plz help.

I simple use the Prophet Tools Light and it worked! everything back to normal!

Guys.. I understand that what the radio rom is for... Wifi, GSM, Bluetooth etc.. and that 2.19.21 is THE recommended 1.. but.. can someone please explain why? whats the difference between 2.19.21 and the latest 2.69.21 etc? If someone can post a brief guide on the pro's and con's of each radio rom then that would be great! Im particularly interested in a rom that gives the best wifi distance if anyone can recommend one? Also.. If I upgrade the radio rom will that affect my ability to access certain networks in in different countries? Im in South Africa would like to continue being able to use it in South Africa.. but would like longer wifi range if possible.. Thanx

I recommend it, because last time I test it. This RADIO ROM is more stabil and has aa good battery usage.
But If you think that 2.69.21 is suitable for you. You can use it too.

Thnx Varanusvincent.. so i take it that upgrading the radio rom wont have an effect on which countries I can use the phone in? See the last time I tried to flash a fone it ended up only being able to work in Canada! Oopz Dnt Ask! Hehe
Anyway, it just seems to me that the reason people create upgrades is to increase stability rather than decrease it and maybe provide new features.. I doubt that radio roms will provide new features.. but I am hoping for longer wifi range no matter what the battery drain may be.. so think i'll just take a chance this weekend and play around with the radio roms and see what happens then.. Many thanks omaga, already looked and the closest was Official test 1.28.405.1 HTC ROM from xda-ftp. Not sure about using a test ROM.
My version 1.28.405.3 WWE.
There was a program i came across for the artemis to dump a ROM from it straight to the memory card, but can't remember where I saw it.

I "upgraded" the radio to a newer verson (old was 1.58, new was 1.64) and ever since then, my GSM reception has gone bad. Calls drop out, and I get maximum 2 bars reception. When wifi is on, it kills the GSM reception.
I downgraded the radio back to the original (1.58.21.23) but the problem persists. I even put the original SPL on there (so no more HardSPL) but still no luck. Even a hard reset didn't fix it.
Any suggestions?
I downloaded the WM6 rom from the HTC site, but that's an older version (1.25.405.1).

Anyway, I don't understand the whole thing about Radios... I would like to try Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700 ROM, but I don't think I have the right version of the Radio? Here's what my device information screen says:

Radio version: 1.70.OliNex
Protocol version: 25.65.30.04H

A radio is the driver to some of the hardware, camera/GPS/sound etc. Usually each ROM lists atleast one compatable radio. Some ROM's flash a radio with the ROM.
If you install a ROM and it doesn't work, just use the suggested radio (or search the ROM thread, there will be suggestions in there, I'm sure) and flash that in the same way you flashed the ROM.

I'd try a new radio, I've not heard of 1.7.OliNex before.
OliNex == OliPro + cmonex, but I think that's thier polaris radio, not a kaiser one, and I have never seen anyone with it on a kaiser.
I found one post on google, someone had it on a kaiser and was having problems.

That radio is used to SIM / CID unlock your phone. You must use that radio to run Olipro's SIM / CID unlock process. It's a modified radio.

Dutty actually has two version of this ROM. One that works w/ different versions of radios. Check the Ultimate Radio Thread to see which one works with which one or check Dutty's thread concerning that specific ROM.

Don't you usually have to flash another radio after the SIM/CID unlocking ones to make your phone work again? That's the case with Jocky's anyhow?

I bought the phone unlocked like this about two months ago and it's been working (aside from some notification queue problems), so I guess not!
I think the Dutty rom includes a compatible radio, so I'm just gonna try flashing it and see what happens. I can always flash a new radio separately, right?

Correct. It's just like flashing a ROM, except you don't lose any data, settings etc. etc.

Yeah you do have to flash another Radio. But Some people don't. Why? I think you and I both know why.
