This is my first post, so please be gentle.
I only recently got my Kaiser (two weeks), and I've been toying with different ROMs. I tried QMobile 1.2, and it seemed alright, but I keep seeing Youtube videos about the "Cube", and it looks like it'd be really handy to have since I don't like pulling out my stylus. It seemed like QMobile 1.2 had "TouchFlo", but I can't seem to find the same "cube" navigation demonstrated in the videos.
I've spent 3-4 days doing nothing but reading the Wiki and forums, as I didn't want to make another duplication of a question asked dozens of times. I've got a notebook with 5 pages of acronyms and numbers, already
So - from what I can gather, Dutty's ROMs seem to be the best I can find that have this Cube thing, as well as what seems to be extensive customization.
My Kaiser is HardSPL'd and I've downloaded and installed QMobile 1.2, so I'm relatively familiar with the process.
This (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361544) thread seems to be about the "Duttys DualTouch v4 RTM Release", which appears to be WM6.0 and what I want. After 30 searches across the Forum and Wiki all I find is discussion about a 6.1 version being available, but I'm not really interested in that until it's officially released (with documentation).
My verbose background aside, I can't seem to find a download link for this release. When I go to the Dutty's lives-in-eu site, I get a server-not-found error. A few pages back in the thread there is another link, but it was password protected.
If for whatever reason Dutty's site has been removed, can anyone else recommend a ROM that has lots of space, the "cube" (or similar finger navigation), slide to unlock and AT&T Tilt stuff (like a compatible radio and Connection Settings)?
Help?
I should also mention that I really appreciated the "Acronyms" sections of the Wiki and FAQ. My first reading of the board was nearly impossible with the number of acronyms. Perhaps someone could add something explaining the 'Cube' ? It seems like a very big feature for the Tilt / Touch, but I can't find a good explanation of what TouchFlo / FTouchFlo / Cube etc., really are, where they came from, etc.
Dutty's new ROM is not available yet. Friday is what he is saying. I use his v4 and it works great other than the damn weather plugin that I finally got P1tater to help me out with. Very fast, and stable.
Here is an alternate link for the V4
http://www.4shared.com/file/36654074/65521948/Duttys_Dualtouch_v4_RTM.html?dirPwdVerified=1f45688
This is the best cube.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358102
Here we go.
Ftouchflo enables you to drag you finger across the screen for scrolling.
FtouchfloConfig is the app to allow you to access the cube. Once enabled you can "usually" drag you finger from bottom to top of your screen to launch the cube. If you can't get it try to reduce the duration from 100 to 300.
Dutty V4 is a very good WM6 rom. It is his current stable release. He is working on 6.1, and a lot of peeps on here are chomping at the bit for it.
Unfortunatley his download section is down (hence the page not found error on the site).
I'd recommend a Schaps or Alex rom at the moment, if you can't get dutties.
Alex has a Wiki page that explains wha is in each. There are 7 versions, including a cube one.
My advice to you is keep reading posts, and it will all start to make sense.
You can install anything you want (eg SU2U), try searching for the cabs or ask if you are really stuck or don't know what summat is called. you can use google, see the stcky on the ofther kaser post.
To be honest it is all down to personal prefs. All the chefs here are very good at what they do... Schaps, Dutty, Alex et al. It doesn't cost anything to flash a new ROM everyday (unless you muck it up ) so try all of the ROMS here and see which one suits your prefs best.
I think the server Dutty is using is down right now, and that's why you are unable to download DualTouch V4. Check the site: http://duttythroy.lives-in.eu/cms/ every now and then, and if it comes back up, there will be a folder called DualTouch where you will be able to download the ROM.
For now, its possible to get the cube on the Q-Mobile ROM. Visit this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350011 and download the files. I believe this cube runs quite well. It has a different skin than the original cube, but poorlyduck has also included files to revert back to the original skin. Just read the thread and I'm sure you will figure it out...
Hope that helps...
Wow you guys all nailed it.
Thank you Dave for the explanation, I added it to my notebook. Is FTouchFlo something that HTC made for the Kaiser or did someone port it over? If so, whom? I'd like to see what else they did, maybe donate.
Thank you alltheway for that link, it looks like you've got a lot of stuff shared out there. I just finished the Dutty v4, so I'll be trying it...
And zakhir I downloaded that cube, the Vista one. Finally have one that works, woohoo! Thanks. One question though - is there anyway to make s2u2 work with the Cube? When I 'slide to unlock' left to right, I end up opening the cube and spinning it.
EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer to that one with Google: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=360813

You can add s2u2 to the exceptions settings of ftouchflo... then you wont activate the cube when trying to unlock the phone from s2u2

This is the FINAL Final Angel
http://rapidshare.com/files/244647384/Final_Final_Angel_nk.nbf
I have been able to put in everything that used to be in Angel.
M2D and M2DC are there.
It has BT_SAP, ActiveSync Killer, PIM Backup, RC Mod, etc.
It has the OperaMini that states it is the final version.
Added BT icon that S.V.I posted.
Also, added mortscript to do some of the changes I did to get things to fit. You'll need a pdf reader to read mortscript's instructions. I could not fit it in.
Everything is back to standard settings. No attempt at BigStorage - has all the Trueffs settings back in place.
Here is the Final Kitchen

You can change what you want. It is in my current formatting. The current state of packages is a clean angel as opposed to a nekid angel some are asking for.
Hello all,
As you know, I no longer have a WIZARD. The USB no longer wanted to connect to my computer and I could no longer flash my phone. So For My b-day I got a kaiser (you know, the one with the missing drivers) and gave my wizard to ... now she is my EX GF. I did get to play with it though just before we broke up and realized that I am really going to miss my wizard because it outperforms my Kaiser by a long shot. might not have all the ram I need, but at least it is much more stable and much more responsive.... anyway, I am done lamenting.
BUMMER because I was almost ready to release the final Angel rom for everyone with a new Manila and an EN/RU stock keyboard... a fed updated exe's and Dll's and so on and so fourth.
So rather than just dropping the whole project of making a last super stable and super fast 6.1 rom; I decided that it would be a good idea to upload my work in progress for anyone that wished to take this thing and make them selves a rom that would be usefull for them as well as take some of my packages (with compressed and simple image files for better performance) and make use of them.
RORYB decided to make a finished version. All I can say is that I wish I could flash it just to see. He has been helping me make my roms better since the (was it hornet or brighrom??) lets just say a long while; and knows how I work. I trust that with his input on Angel 5 is a HUGE improvement.
So as of post 390, this is his baby.
Thank you all,
Svi

The "Connection Setup" has a provision file (zip) that is password protected. the whole cab is 1.5 mb. Twice the size of the "Network Wizard" that is installed in to this rom. If you could save the registry settings for your network (and others) I will gladly put them into a CAB that you can install during UC customizations. I understand how important it is to be able to connect to GPRS and MMS; however that package is as big as the keyboard in my signature... I would rather include that into the rom before anything else. I hope that you understand. I also tried to use the package from OPAL, which is a little bit smaller, but it would not load for some reason.

I'm pleased to see that you fixed your MDA and that cornelha's toolkit is working for you.
Do you have any thoughts as to differences between 20931 and 20273? I assume that there are many undocumented bug fixes and optimizations, but have you actually observed anything?
I will flash ANGEL at some point, and I'll try to remember to do some before-and-after benchmarking (from HORNET Manilla 3.8) to see for myself.
Just curious.
SP1 is uploaded!!! Please install the update!

When you do the benchmarks let me know the results. It is deffinately a higher build, and it seems faster. The rom is not the HORNET as I started almost from scratch after pillaging Cornelha's rom for packages. It behaves differently...

FYI: I ran SP1 in 923b and now the wifi starts on the first tap.
Also, the icon shows syncing again - thank you.
I put the image association back to album because I like the way it handles viewing pictures. But that is why we all tweak to our own flavors.
---------------
I just noticed Wireless LAN settings does not show my connection, but Configure Wireless Networks does show I am connected. This could be because I did not update to [01] version.
I won't be able to do that until next week.
Manilla 2D landscape?
Thanks for the ROM S.V.I! I love your ROMs, more than the TNT series
I recently tried your Manilla 2D Beta 4.5 ROM, and this ROM, and I'm facing a small problem with them, Manilla 2D doesn't work in landscape mode
Every time I go landscape, either it flips back to portrait, or it doesn't resize well to the new position, so, I was wondering, is it a Manilla bug? and is there some work around for it? I really love landscape mode

Most of you know that PDAVIET, longtime member of XDA, withdrew postings of his newer ROMS here because, as stated on this final thread, posted by Sid_dominic56 :
Many Wing users here DO appreciate PDAViet's excellent ROMS; as can be seen in this December 28, 2008 XDA discussion: PDAVIET-ROM BUILD 20764.1.4.3.PV or Open Touch 7.7 . And since Sid dominic points us to the current versions, and all of these ROM discussions at XDA are outdated, it seems useful to have a thread to share installation & implementation issues of these Herald/Wing ROMS.
For those interested, the latest ROM is available from PDAViet.net here; and following those links, you will come to its download location.
My Question: The last ROM I had on my WING was ttrans Open Touch 6.5 .. but I flashed to this new TouchFLO 2D tonight. It works beautifully, but I am not sure what I did wrong in the installation process. When I soft-reset, the first splash-page I get is from the older ttrans ROM, but then it proceeds to load up TouchFLO 2D WM6.1 V6.1.405.15 just fine. What does this indicate? And do I need to start over again?
P.S. -- I shot video of this entire installation process from previous ROM, to downloading new one, to installing -- as a helpful guide to new users. As soon as I edit it, i will post to YouTube and link here.

Yeah I had the same problem. Fortunately I'd already read your comment so I wasn't alarmed when it happened. So far so good. Seems to move a lil more faster than the last.
Oh yeah....
I did notice that the "voice recorder" app won't open up. I really need that cause I make music and also write and sometimes when I get an idea and don't have something to write with I just say or hum it in the voice recorder, so it would be REALLY nice if there was a fix for that. Thanks.

Re: Hi, I have question re PDAViet TF2D Rom; I see you run it
I think this should be okay to share since XDA is about leveraging knowledge. I asked an active user of PDAViet's TouchFLO 2D if he thought it would be a good choice for me for my desire to run ifonz app launcher. His reply indicates no... since it is not a lite rom.

Re: Hi, I have question re PDAViet TF2D Rom; I see you run it
The PDA-Viet rom I was using was the second version from the thread opened by sid_domonic56. The thread is now closed, but you should still be able to get the rom and I also believe someone else opened a thread with one that was more updated, but I could be wrong. I would not recommend the Pda-Viet rom if you are using the ifonez theme. It is not a lite rom, even though the memory specs are pretty nice. I am unsure if you could load two good sized today programs on the phone, unless you can run ifonez from your sd card. I've never used it so I am not sure how that program works. My recommendation would be to stay with 6.5 lite, as I believe 7.7 has too many bugs and memory drain issues. Otherwise, I would look into Ivan's just 2 clean rom as it about as stripped down as you can get and should run pretty fast. Hope this helps.
Click to collapse
So, has Ivan's just2clean been updated lately, to move to newer builds of the OS?
Also, though I understand ttrans' OT v 7.7 is still buggy, i have heard you and others rec his v 7.4... which I believe is a lite rom. So, is 7.4 a lighter or higher performing rom than OT 6.5?
quicksite said:
i have not yet explored the whole rom, but i am findit without a lot of memory to open up more than 1, maybe 2, apps at a time. this was the basic problem with the stock t-mobile rom... almost useless for rapid switching between open apps.
would you consider trying this other similar rom for COMPARATIVE PURPOSES, to see if voice recorder works, etc?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469522
also it would be great if we could get pureskillz to BENCHMARK TEST these 2 roms, and compare to the field of more established roms here at xda.
I am pretty sure i want to run ifonz vs Today screen or other nav scheme, and that means I need a LITE version of a ROM, but hopefully a contemporary version with a newer build... so i can then a la carte add apps -- such as dumping audio manager for Nitrogen, Thumbcal for windows calendar, iContact for windows contact mgr, opera mini vs clunky IE, etc.
So, for me if i had a fast windows shell that looked like this, but very stripped down re built in apps, that 's what i need.
Also, can someone define for me very specifically: what is "manila", what is TouchFLO 2D VS 3D, and how do they relate, if they do at all.

I'll try it perhaps when I get home tomorrow and let you know if I notice any differences between the 2.

...this is a great ROM pretty fast have not come across any bugs yet I have only one question how do I set up my data connection I got used to the "connections wizard" on other ROMs.
What carrier are you using?
If you're using t-mobile, just go to Start > Settings > Connections > Add A New Modem Connection
Name: T-Mobile Data
Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point Name: wap.voicestream,com
Or internet2.voicestream.com
user name password and domain leave black unless you have a login. And you're done!

i have not yet explored the whole rom, but i am findit without a lot of memory to open up more than 1, maybe 2, apps at a time. this was the basic problem with the stock t-mobile rom... almost useless for rapid switching between open apps.
would you consider trying this other similar rom for COMPARATIVE PURPOSES, to see if voice recorder works, etc?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469522
also it would be great if we could get pureskillz to BENCHMARK TEST these 2 roms, and compare to the field of more established roms here at xda.
So, for me if i had a fast windows shell that looked like this, but very stripped down re built in apps, that's what i need.
Also, can someone define for me very specifically: what is "manila", what is TouchFLO 2D VS 3D, and how do they relate, if they do at all.

Okay, this rom seems to be fine. The VR works on it also. Thanks. I'm also going to try out some of these games on that link you provided, thanks again.

you can find similiar instructions in the Herald Wiki...
The author of this particular PDAViet Rom is: Microlab071966
... whose profile, at PDAviet.net, says further: TP.Hà nội
I am going to guess this is someone's initials TP, from the city Ha noi, in northern Vietnam -- an absolutely beautiful city... and right now is the season of TET, the Vietnamese New Year! (btw, the ROM's timezone is initially set to Hanoi, Vietnam ... )

I'm guessing that's "PDAViet"'s child. But when I was exploring his site the other day to find this ROM, I realized that this particular ROM seems to be from a different developer who also "cooks" at PDAviet.net.
The Rom that many XDAers have downloaded previously from XDA's "PDAVIET", is, I believe, from the author named: PhamQuang HERALD WM6.1 ROM V24 - Build 19214.1.0.4
But the ROM that I have linked to here is posted by user named Microlab071966 ROM HERALD_WWE_6.1.405.15_BUILD 21109-5.0.0.PV(Manila2D)
The only person who can answer this question is ... XDA's "sid_dominic56".
Deconstructing: I have some questions about "what is what" on this ROM

My initial intention is trying this ROM was because I wanted a faster, newer ROM as my basic Windows OS, that I would then install on top of that, ifonz interface.
I did not know, until I installed the ROM, that it comes with a very nice finger-browseable User Interface and application launcher. I would like for someone to deconstruct the components of this ROM so I can finally understand which pieces come from WindowsOS, which pieces come from HTC, and which aspects are coded or optimized by "chef".
Most users here know all of this already, as basic knowledge. I don't.
1. What is "manila"? Is manila the user-interface style of the finger-friendly icons that navigate programs, contacts, messages, internet, settings, etc? If not, what is it exactly? And can it be added, with separate cab, to other ROMS, replacing another ROM's look & feel?
2. What is TouchFLO 2D ? Is this the software that enables users to scroll with fingers up & down, and right and left? If so, was this developed by HTC, or has any version of Windows Mobile ever come with that capability? Similarly, can TouchFLO 2D be added to another ROM as a separate installation (if it is not cooked into the existing ROM)?
3. What is TouchFLO 3d? Is that related to the HTC "cube" interface? can someone give me a link to a screenshot or video example? AND: Is this correct? That 2D would be less processor-demanding than 3D, or is that unrelated?
4. The application & utility components that are listed as being cooked inot this ROM have the prefix name "Opal" ... What does this mean? Is this the name of an HTC device? Is is the name of HTC interface elements?
5. Finally, when people speak about "clean Builds", what are these, and how are they obtained? I am guessing they are latest versions of the Windows Mobile OS, but is that right, or not? It always seems like people are searching for ROMS with the newest build. That makes sense. Isn't that part of why people like this PDAVIET ROM ?
6. Finally, my reason for trying to understand these pieces or layers is because I have 2 paths I could go down: (1) Give up the whole idea of using the ifonz interface & application launcher, instead using this ROM's built-in navigation scheme (manila??), or (2) Go to a stripped down ROM, like Just2Clean, install iFonz onto it, and build, a la carte my whole customized user-experience for how I like to access various applications and settings and phone #s & pictures.
My decision is about 50% optimal usability, and 50% multi-application performance. As great as these HTC phones are, 9 times out of 10 when the phone rings, just getting the phone out of my pocket and answering without some kind of accidental touch screen or hard button action is a miracle. I'm a power user for web browsing, google maps & GPS, video & images, youtube, etc, so I have no problem using THAT stuff, but it's always the basic PHONE issues that are problematic.
I would love even partial answers here, number by number, so I can properly evaluate whether this ROM is right for me. As I said, it was sluggish multitasking with browser open, contacts open, total commander open, and notes open, and mp3 player running -- but thats what i need "always on". So maybe I need a ROM with less stuff built in, so I can use my preferred apps. For example, I don't ever want to even LOOK at WMP. Audio Manager was my preferred MP3player, until Nitrogen came out. And, for example, this ROM has WMP and Audio Manager cooked in.
I am currently using Open Touch 6.5, and am thinking of switching to PDAviet's rom. I am anxiously awaiting your video, as I don't want to mess up the flash.
As soon as you put it up, I'll flash it. Thanks quicksite.

Hi Dermann.
Have you heard anything from Da_G re wm6.5 for the i607 ???
I tried contacting him once on this matter through private message but got no reply and now on top of that txcaesar had undergone a major face-lift leaving no track for blackjack related information.

OK, googled it again and there is a new post about wm6.5 for i607 by py8 at ZN520 website.
source
http://www.zn520.com/viewthread.php?tid=1140
translated via google:
http://translate.google.com/transla...d.php?tid=1140&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&history_state0=
PS - translation is sometimes very funny but most important brush == Cook
The ROM is English/Chinese
I will try to login there and check.
I was able to login but cannot understand where to download the file from. Anyone here has experience with downloading files from zn520 (or at list is able to read Chinese and retrieve the file for us ?)
i've been i contact with Da_G and he has a working 6.5 working already but as dermann said the keypad doesn't work "yet" and thats something big haha he sent me a link of the kitchen that hes using and as soon as i get home ill post it here so if anybody wants to help or figure out how to get the keypad working that would be great cause everyone would benefit from it.

Hi Aitrus,
Well I already know about the keypad issue and Da_G is certainly very known for for his great abilities producing awesome ROMs as well as cooking them with efficient memory allocation.
I do not understand whether the i607 shares the same dll's as the i600 for keypad, which could be extracted from Noksers/PY8 i600 ROM.
If not another possibility is to extract the necessary files from the PY8 new ROM for i607 which is not clean since it is English/Chinese ROM. However I do not know where to get it from. It does not appear on PY8 private blog and I cannot find the link for downloading it from zn520.com although I registered and logged in.
What do you suggest ?
to be honest i dont know im in the same boat as all of you the only reason Da_G keeps me updated on his progress is because i sent him a bj1 to work on other than that... Da_G thinks that its not the .dll thats not working but the tools hes tried changing them a few times but no dice i dont know chinese either but ill try to find the link on that site as well if anyone is interested heres Da_Gs kitchen for the bj1.

Yes just saw your post there.
I suspect there is some sort of user rights system in their website for determining who is entitled to download (not that I know how to gain this authorization).
You can see at the bottom of the text a small lock icon accompanied by text that translates to "The posts need to hide the contents of the reply before they can browse"- I guess this is the hidden link. Biggest question is what does one has to do in order to gain these rights.
Good luck guys
The keyboard issue is the last thing remaining in that Kitchen posted earlier, I suspect it may be a VM allocation issue related to the age of the BJ's kernel.. but not really sure.
If that can be fixed, it's ready to rock

About LayeredWindows:
In the 617 version of the WM6.5 experience shows mentioned LayeredWindows, then what is the LayeredWindows it?
1, can be translated literally as "window layer" "Layer Window," "layered window", is a new WM6.5 features, in the registry by the following values to open on / off:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ GWE]
"EnableLayeredWindows" = dword: 1
2, if opened EnableLayeredWindows, being learned, WM6.5 at the interface with the original WM6.1 has the following differences:
I. WM 6.5 wait for animated icons and transparent. Required to be open LayeredWindows, or else wait for animated icon will "become" very rough, the background black. To this end. WM6.5 trial version disable LayeredWindows, using resources in a way replaced with WM6.1 solve the "rough" animated icon in the issue abandoned the transparent effect.
II. WM6.5 achieve PPC style menu effect. Required to be open LayeredWindows, otherwise invalid. Of the original quote is as follows:
http://www.ioicn.com.cn/forum/viewthread.php?tid=336430&highlight=WM6.5% B2% CB% B5% A5
3, WM6.5 sliding under the theme of imitation of Titanium under the PPC do not need to LayeredWindows

A while back I found a link to a mediafire archive with something like 50 CAB's in it, for Windows Mobile 6.x. Does anyone know where that archive is?
It used to be bookmarked on my computer, but I accidently deleted it, so it's now gone.
I imagine that some of those CAB's are probably somewhere else on the interwebs as well, but I have been searching all day to no avail.
Also, FreewarePocketPC still has lot's of stuff available for WM devices, but a lot of it is intermixed with crap for Android(most of the Android **** that's clogging the site is just virus anyways), and Windows Phone 7, and some of the links are dead.
P.S. I have an archive of CAB's as well, I will be sharing soon, most of the CAB's I have are still available elsewhere on the interwebs, but with WM6.x getting older by the day, and so many things linkrotting as we type, it won't be long before the ever-diminishing set of workable programs reaches zero, and our beloved WinCE/WM6.x based devices are dead forever. So the more mirrored archives there are, the better.
NOTE: IF anyone wants an app, PM me, do not clog the forums with requests. NO, I do not have warez and paid software, I do not have any way to make your paid software work without paying, DO NOT ask for warez, if you do, your PM will be copied to this thread for everyone to see and laugh at.

1.) Opera Mini 5 - In download box below. Web browser for WM2003 all the way up to WM6.5.5, still works and because of Opera compression, it renders nicely even over 2G and modern websites are rendered nicely.
2.) UC Browser 7.04 - In download box below. Another web browser for WM5 up to WM6.5.5, still works, built by a Chinese company, not sure if it uses compression, like other browsers for WM, rendering quality is hit or miss depending on the site.
3.) Opera Mobile 10 BETA - In download box below. A newer version of Opera, for WM5 and above, still works, like with Mini 5, it uses Opera compression servers so it browses fast over 2G and modern websites are still nice. AFAIK it supports Flash.
4.) SkyFire - In download box below. Another nice browser. I am not sure if it still works, it uses SkyFire compression servers, supports flash. SkyFire as of 2013 was still available for Android, so it's possible the compression servers are still active. If the servers are not active, then since this AFAIK does not render locally, it's just here for historical completeness.
5.) ZetaKey 2010 - In download box below. This is a browser that is AFAIK still developed for WM6 and up. It supports HTML5 and AFAIK Flash, based on WebKit, so even without compression servers(which this does not use), it should render modern websites okay.
6.) Iris Browser 1.1.9 - In download box below. This browser still works. Uses WebKit, although it is not developed anymore, it does score a 100/100 on Acid3, has a pop-up blocker and supports NPAPI plugins just like Firefox.
7.) ZetaKey 2017 - In download box below. See ZetaKey 2010 entry. This is the newest version of that browser.
8.) TCPMP Finger Friendly. A great media player for WM devices. IMO it's even better than what comes on most Androids even in 2019.

1.) Flexilis Mobile Security - Link in download box below. This is a once-popular anti-virus program for WM6.x devices. It is AFAIK the precursor to what we now know as Lookout on Android devices. I am not sure if it has new virus definitions, but then again, is there anyone actually creating *new* viruses for WM6.x anyways?
2.) ESET Mobile Antivirus - Link in download box below. This is another popular anti-virus program for WM5 through 6.5.5, although the WM version is no longer developed nor is it still supported, ESET is still around and still makes some of the best anti-virus software for Linux, Windows, MacOS and Android.
3.) FingerKeyboard - Probably one of, if not the best alternative keyboards for WM6/6.5. It is way better than the stock keyboard(although the HTC keyboard is decent).
Download it from the box below, or the original link is still active here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487677

I am just putting this out here mainly as a way a of preserving these programs for anyone who might care aboit them. Also, so if there might be anyone out there who still happens to have a device that can use these. So, sure, the thread is 10 years out of date, but thats exactly the point.
I'll take that bet...
Well I for one would love to see archives of old WM6.x CABs. I bought the HD2 In the first week it was out, and loved tweeking and fiddling with it until I had to factory reset it and remember where I stored the latest viable backup.
I must have crashes that thing a dozen times or more!
Well I never did get myself together enough to build a kitchen and learn to cook up some ROMs, but I had fun with all of the crazy and cool programs and apps. Cookie monster had an awesome UI Tweeker as I recall.
So yeah, I found the ol' Leo and charged it up! It's working!
I would love some links to CAB archives!
I recently bought some Windows Mobile devices just to play with, so I would also love an archive.
Finally somebody doing this. Thanks.
A bit late, but preservation is always good.
I tried finding games for WinMo, but every single link i came across was dead. (If somebody comments about piracy... WinMo has been discontinuted for, like, what? 10 years?)
If anyone still has any app installed on their WinMo phones, please make a backup and upload it.
I was a Symbian user when WinMo was still used, so i kinda missed on pretty much everything.
And you know what's the weird thing?
You can still find SYS files for Symbian all around the internet, but WinMo apps simply vanished.
So, yeah, if any of y'all have any app, just post it here.

I have a bunch on my HD2, I just dont know how to upload to here. Or anywhere else for that matter. I will look into a file share site. Any help would be appreciated.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ still operates with most links still working. In most cases it offers a primary link & a mirror link to download the Apps. On the rare occasion both links fail a web search on the App or developer name will usually yield a result. Only very rarely can I not find a WM6.5 CAB, registry hack, etc., that I want. I've been amazed how much is still out there. I've used the HD2 as my sole Phone/PDA for almost 10 years & by trial & error I've got it to be very stable (a screen freeze is now a rare & notable event). I recently added the new 400GB microSD which is so fast I can put most Apps onto SD that formally required Device Memory installation only. I can't speak too highly of this little device. And the screen is much more scratch resistant than my wife's Lumia 950! Cheers

When you tap the reply button and it opens up that new page where you write your text and stuff, scroll down until you see "Manage Attachments", tap on that and a new page will open, from which you could upload your files. :good:

I read that reply and I couldn't stop myself from adding the slight tone of distain at having to answer the obvious to someone as noobish as I. however, does said 10 post anti flake-o-noob rule apply? if not. Well, i need to go buy a shovel and dig holes for a living.

Rolled a 1 on search and found this. It had some good links. Not all function anymore.
Sites that still have some form of .cab files:
Freewarepocketpc.net
mpbus.net
mobile24.co
A good extractor for cabs and thier extension files would be nice.

Chill, it's no problem.
You could upload them to your Google Drive and turn on link sharing for the zip you made from the cabs. (And tap on "Everybody with a link: can view", not "Everybody with a link: can edit")
Then copy the link and post it here.
Also, thanks for those links. Really useful.
Having better achieve of cool apps and games still good for even the htc hd2 would be great for WinMobile 6.5
I attempted to reply with an outline of a project I am starting, and included the links to my dropbox file of HTC HD2 software, however it was auto flagged and i cant find the technical contact form as my browser is not allowing me to scroll through all the options in drop down menus and other pages.
sorry guys! I shall return when I can and try again.
Making a online archive with every possible cab categorized in smart way is one of my dreams since when I started discovering the world of technology and modding through this wonderful OS called Windows Mobile
The websites listed in this page allows you to search on old filesharing websites.
You can still find a lot of apps on
---Emule (servers +KAD especially)
---"windows mobile" and "pocketpc" sections on softonic.com (if I'm not wrong a con is that for each cab you want to download Softonic downloads a windows installer that then downloads the cab)
---install the webarchive extension on your browser and visit every old bookmark you saved in the past with the hope that the webpage was saved on the archive)
If I had the time I'll buy some webspace and I'll archive every WinMo app! XD (I would need less GBs than a single today's laptop hdd)

Well a lot has changed since 2018. I just went to freeware pocket PC and tried 10 different links and none of them worked and none of the developers still had a functioning website.

Dude, don't you think you've been late with this thread for about 10 years?
I know maybe 3 or 4 old-fags here at xda (including me) who still have functional WM6.5 - WEH6.5.3 phones. And we are mostly "chiefs" - we cook our own roms and have all the necessary soft in our roms already.

Actually, just dug out an old HTC Diamond2 that was once used by a relative, I was looking for software and this has actually been pretty helpful, I'm trying to figure out what these old PDA-ish devices still can do, I know that the few that can run Linux are actually pretty well supported to this day, but this one looks pretty much obscure so far, not a miracle, but I did want to play around with it
