HTC have posted official ROM updates for a few European countries here: http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=633
Unfortunately, they require a serial number to download. Could someone kind provide the Swiss or Austrian ROM, or alternately a valid serial number that will permit the download? It'd be greatly appreciated, as I'd like to get my hands on the German locale files/dictionaries. Thanks.
Updated ROM installs 'perfect' SPL
I have gone through updating my Magic with the upated original HTC ROM, I will try to post the file later. Be aware that it installs a perfect SPL version, which means you cannot flash your Magic anymore with any custom ROM etc. Or only via going through a complicated Goldcard procedure.

Hey,
Sorry for the stupid question, but I just can't find the info I'm looking for. I've checked the wiki and a lot of threads here but can't figure it out.
The wiki links to the FTP to show two ROMs I could download, but doesn't explain anything about them.
RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship.exe
RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship.exe
Am I right to guess that the first one is a very old version and the second one is the latest? If the second one is the latest, is it not available at clubimate just because clubimate is out of date? Also, shayd linked to JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship.zip in a recent thread saying it's the latest official. If the ones in the wiki aren't official, what are they?
I'm currently running 2.13.9.23 on a G4 JAMin. This is what I put on from clubimate not long after I got the phone.
Also, I've looked at a few of the custom ROMs floating around here and they're interesting. However, I know that I don't know enough about this to just try upgrading to one, for fear of bricking my phone. Is there a recommended one, and would it void my warranty?
Thanks, and sorry again for the stupid questions.
As you probably know by now, the HTC prophet is sold (among others) by Qtek as S200 and by imate as Jamin. Hardware is identical so ROMS are compatible too. What you found on ftp are official ROMS by Qtek (ver 2.09 and ver 2.2).
Imate's latest version is 2.13, which is what you have installed at the moment.
Dopod's latest version is 2.15, while Qtek's latest version is 2.2. They're all official ROMS and will work on your device providing it's CID unlocked (search forum for CID unlocking). Just FYI, CID locking is used to prevent you from loading other carrier's ROMs.
Regarding customised ROMS, yes they're interesting but unfortunately they all have bugs.
Qtek's latest version 2.2

Thus meaning that, as I have an Imate JAMin, I could install Qtek's latest version 2.2 and it would be OK? Where do I find that??? Thanks in advance.
Thanks kta.
When i-mate's v2.13 is compared to the qtek v2.2, are those numbers relative to each other, or just arbitrary? I'm asking so that I can figure out if 2.2 is actually better than 2.13.
Also, am I right to assume that if my phone died while qtek's 2.2 rom was on there, my warranty would be void?
cheers,
James

You will be OK if you update it with Qtek's 2.2. There is one on xda ftp here: ftp://xda:[email protected]_S200_2.20.7.34_2.47.21_2.20.7.114_WWE.zip.
To avoid the ROM update utility telling you "Wrong Country ID" or something like that, make sure you use a ROM Update Utility with No vendor Id (probably included in the zip file).

Hi James,
The version numbers are relative to each other and Qtek's 2.2 is a better version based on a more recent WM5 release.
Regarding warranty, well, you'd have to check what Imate's policy is. I never had an imate myself but I had a similar experience with a T-Mobile device. I sent it back for repair under warranty and it had another carrier's ROM and they didn't complain. But Imate's policies could be different.
Thanks heaps kta. Very informative. I'll contact i-mate.
Quick question...
Does anyone know if qtek's 2.2 ROM has the laggy SIP switch popup issue?
Hey Folks,
I flashed my Phone back with my dumped GERMAN vodafone Rom 6.0.
Cause its a dumped Version i cant getthe 01_SPL.nb file of it which i need for creating a Vodafone SPL.
So what can i do? Can I use the file of a UK wm6.1 Vodafone Rom to create the SPL?
I read many articles here about reverting and SPLs but i dont really know if i can use other Roms to create the SPL or does it have to be the exact version i installed?
I am sure somebody of this huge community already did a reverting back to the german Vodafone 6.0 Rom
i appreciate your help guys
Does anyone have an idea?
I have a VPAc V too and had to return it 2 months ago - without the right SPL (I use the HTC one) and I haven't heard anything from VF and get another device 2 days later.
(the service team don't look at the SPL - just the OS)
And yes: you can take the VF UK SPL..

I think you won't need to dump it from a rom. It is already on this site. Just search for it and if you do not find it i will help you searching for it because i don't know where it is.

Hello,
sorry for this topic, but I'm new here and not too skilled, so I need a detailed help 'cause I'm getting crazy!!...
Well, I have a p3600 EN version,
WM5,
rom version 1.23.405.2 (dated 2007-03-11),
radio version 1.38.00.11,
ExtVersion 1.23.405.103.
I read everywhere that HTC released rom and radio upgrades which unlock GPS (that I actually don' t see),
so I tried to download the latest official rom version (I still don't know the code, it should be the 1.23.408...) from the HTC download area, but it makes me download ONLY the same rom version that I still have, the 1.23.405.2!!!
I tried to flash it anyway and nothing changed...
That's why the 405.2 may is the latest rom version available for my phone?
Or my phone may have some sort of lock on it's codes so that I can't upgrade anything? it could be possible?
What is the right rom version I should have?
Please help me!!!
thanx in advance
Debby
Hey Debby 85, it is not so hard to do
first flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293632
then choose a gps enabled rom, i think from about the middle of 2007 they are all gps enabled.
I have a BT Mobile branded HTC S710 and want to flash it with the generic ROM.
I went to the HTC.com site to obtain this (from here: http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=8&cat=2&dl_id=16), but it asks for your device's serial number before it'll let you download, and reports "invalid serial number" so won't let me download. This is apparently some agreement BT had with HTC to prevent you from obtaining the generic ROM and getting rid of their rubbish one.
I've had a look on this site for generic ROMS, but can only find non-English generic versions of the Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, so I need help locating a UK English version of the generic ROM if anyone has any ideas?
Although I'm an IT Teccie, I'm new to ROM flashing, so your help is really appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum
Why needing a generic ROM if ROM´s cooked here from our fantastic chefs are 1000 times better than the original ones?
Anyway have a read here:

Good luck,
Hi,
I just visited the German HTC homepage and there is an update for the Vodafone 32B. (OK no link, the forum says I'm not allowed to post links)
So I typed in my Serial Number and got a download for a German Vodafone ROM. The filename is "\HTC Magic\RUU_Sapphire_Vodafone_GER_1.91.162.1_DRC92_signed_NoDriver.exe"
Searched and googled a little bit, but couldn't find anybody that has tested it yet. So I thought there must be a thread at the xda-devs forum, but I also couldn't find one (maybe I'm blind?)
I didn't flash it because i don't have a running Windows atm and also don't want to root my phone again. Is there anybody who has already tested this ROM? Wich Android version does it have? Does it have Sense UI?
Maybe this could be interesting for someone else.
I think had that version installed on my 32b - I believe it's Android 1.6, but no Sense UI and IIRC it installed a perfected SPL which caused me major headaches with rooting and CM later down the line. I'm now running CM and removed this ROM. Other than the perfected SPL there's nothing wrong with it that I could find, I just wanted to have a play with other ROMs!
Hope this helps.
no official sense ui for 32b offical roms
