Hello everyone, I'm having a huge trouble at playing java games on my S710. All games works with no sound. No matter the instalation file, when I install any game, sound is never played. Can anyone help me? I've tried a lot of Esmertec JBed versions, tried Hard Reset by software, but the problem remains. Please help me, I really use java apps.
Thanks
i too had the same problem for quite long. Everytime i did a hard reset, i restored the whole data and tried java but the sound never came back.
but later i figured out that is was because of Q9 real player media files plugin. I uninstalled it and java had sound again.
in your case also it might be because of some third party software. u can try uninstalling softwares one by one and checking java after each uninstall. Hope it works!
Man, I think you're right. Sometimes, when Windows Media is in use, the apps sound comes back. But How would i Uninstall Windows Media Player? Can it be done?
no its not the media player, it is some third party codec such as q8 which i used to play rm files in my phone! have u installed any of such codec?
No, didn't installed any other codecs. The only program unusuall installed is Adobe FlashLite, and other modifications are only Windows Live Messenger and Office Update.
try a hard reset and install a java game, without installing any other software. I think u will get sound then. BTW which rom do u use?
My phone stills with it's original ROM. I'm afraid off doing something wrong while trying to update it. But I'm thinking about updating it for Windows Mobile 6.1, can you recomend me any Rom?
The Rom Installed is Windows CE, Version 5.20 (Compilation 1238)
if u want to update, u can update the 6.1 by Dr. Gonzo or any of the 6.5, either FM's or FB's. but first of all u should backup all your data and read this thread. It has all flashing instructions contained in it.
and one more thing after successfully flashing your rom and before installing any other software, try installimg a java game, i think u will get game sound back!!!
GL!

Also make sure Vox is not SIM locked (i.e. locked to a specific carrier). But if you hard reset your device, nothing can go wrong (possibly ), but do it only after a full charge .
My phone is SimLocked, is this a problem?

Yes, if your phone is sim locked then, in order to upgrade to an unofficial ROM, you will have to buy an unlock code from jockeyw after the upgrade. Everyone here with sim locked phones have to do the same. Once you have bought an unlock code , you will never have to buy it again. You more info u can click here

m32 is correct. simlocked phone will only refuse sims from other operators. But still if you flash you will have to get your phone sim unlocked!
And if you read and follow the instructions carefully, then there is nothing to be afraid of flashing.
Well, I tryed to sim unlock my Vox, but now I have another huge problem. I went to my phone operator(TIM Brazil) but my phone could not be unlocked cause it's previous owner inserted more then 7 wrong unlock codes, now I have to send my phone for HTC Assistance =/.
is your phone covered in warranty? If yes, then i think you should give your phone to them. So far i have seen that HTC have best customer support regardless of what the problem is. U can also contact jockeyw first, he might help you with the problem. I cant suggest much with regard to 'sim locking' since i dont have a sim-locked device!

Hello, I have unlocked my Cheetah thanks to all of you and saw a link on the site for a "full" 6.1 version, which I did, and it seems to be missing some things to I really want to go back to my original ATT 2.25 (original WM 6.0). I try to do this via the desktop and SD updater but since the version is newer on my Treo it will not allow me to do so. Can anyone help this newbie with instructions on how to accomplish this?
On another note a friend turned me on to your site and this is really awesome and I thank you for all of your time and help with all you do here!
You should not have any problem doing it via the SD card method. I did it on my other Treo. I dont know where exactly the hic up is. You should check your process again.

Use the SD card method, thats what I used to go back to ATT 2.25 wm 6.0
1. have you tried using the KaiserCustomRUU to load the ROM? Worked like a champ for me. just need to be sure to rename the ROM "RUU_signed.nbh"
2. using the official updater you need to modify the payloads.xml
Code:
<carrier_codes>CNG,ATT</carrier_codes>
(of course you may need to modify to match your carrier)
Code:
<revision_range>
<low>1.13</low>
<high>3.00</high>
</revision_range>
3. SD as last resort IMO since it takes forever to get the ROM on the card (assuming its already formatted fat32)

Hi all,
yeaterday I installed Nadavi HTC Camera cab file. the installation did not finished, it failed (however I see that the free space on the device is smaller now).
since then, the camera shows me "unable to initialize camera. failed to set up the camera device".
I tried:
to run it from windows/camera.exe
to put out the battary for 15 minutes
read all the related posts
installed the Nadavi_OLD_HTC_Camera_5_0_4_2915_00 - did not helped
is there any solution for this?
thanks,
Royi.
If all else fails you'll have to try a hard reset. Remember to back up all your contacts and messages first.
thanks for the respond.
is this the only solution for this issue?
I just done a hard reset, and it did not helped.
someone got another ideas?
i'm really sad about that one...
I would consider reflashing the phone with the same (or maybe a different/cooked) ROM; I'm positive that your problem is related exclusively to software.
Good luck!
i'm a newbe at this...
you got any guide or something like that for this procedure?
plus, what version do you recommend?
Just to rule out a bad ROM I'd flash the original 6.0 ROM first to verify that the camera indeed works. If not, then you must remove hardspl and send your phone to service. If it starts working again you can try the cooked 6.1 ROM again.
the problem is that i'm already using the original ROM.
I never installed a new rom.
my rom ver is:
1.25.405.1 WWE
radio:
1.58.21.23
Protocol ver:
25.65.30.04H
so, is it really needed to install the oroginal rom again?
If it's not modified, then it may worth taking your chance with the service.

I don't know the camera fix you applied, so I don't know that it was trying to do. But since you have not upgraded the ROM or changed the SPL to HardSPL I would send it in for repair if you are still under warranty.
If not, I'd try reflashing the original ROM if you can get it. That way you will reflash everything in case the camera fix overwrote something, but that I find quite unlikely, but it's your last best hope if you are out of warranty, unless you want to pay for a repair that is.
this is the cab I installed

thanks for helping me...
I flashed to udk7 diamond rom...it did not helped as well.
How can I check if this is a software issue or Hardware?
sorry for the nudging...but someone got any ideaz?
If you have tried both original and cooked ROMS, what do you think? I'd say it's obviously a hardware issue. Reflash original ROM and remove HardSPL and return the device to service.
I tried only to flash to udk7 ROM. is it worth a try to flash to the original one?

Yes, I'd certainly try the original too since it contains OS, radio and the whole lot.
Is your camera work one time or never ?
If never work just send the Phone to HTC or go to your operator ( SAB: Service After Buying ??? like SAV in france ?).
Have you try to flash with a new RADIO rom like 1.64.**.**
Where do you bought your phone ?
Same problem for me.
Send the phone to HTC. It's a hardware problem.
Don't try any flash o fixing. If the camera don't work after a hard reset, you have a motherboard problem.
Send it to HTC and they will change the board. I have now a new IMEI number.

I sure they wont re-lock it. However the OEM in this rom is for the Sprint CDMA version. I'm pretty sure it won't function correctly on the unlocked GSM. The CDMA versions are pretty different.
As for odds of success, I have no idea. No one to my knowledge has tried the MicroSD update method, and I build the rom with a kitchen I've never used before. I just can't test until I actually get a Treo Pro on Monday.

I would need a rom dump from your phone. All of the raw parts using itsutils would be best. That's how I'm going to backup my alltel rom when I get the phone.
I couldn't get my phone to boot from the SD at all, I may need to reformat it to try but even from the stock rom it wouldn't boot. It is possible this is an issue with the SPL-0.37.0000

Make sure it's FAT32, and use a normal sd not sdhc. Then hold the volume up and powerbutton while inserting the battery. Once it's in bootloader mode, hitting the power button again should start the flash processes. See the HTC service Manual for directions.

I'm pretty sure this is how. Without a hard-spl, the only other way is to use itsutils to write the rom back to the device, but that is dangerous.

Can this work on a Telus CDMA Treo Pro?
Don't even try to flash a rom built for a CDMA Treo Pro on a GSM Treo Pro. The best thing you can obtain is a brick. In order to dump you rom, here you'll find a complete tutorial in the wiki:

NightRaven,
I just tried your Rom but it doesn't work. It seems like you're still missing something. It stuck on the gray screen and says "Loading..." Just to confirm I didn't do anything wrong, I extracted the rom from the sprint 1.04 and it did work. Also seems like your Rom is smaller than the official Rom 73MB vs 140MB. Anyways if you have another one to try out, let me know and I'll try it out. Thanks for the hardwork!

I have not tested this, becuase I have not yet received my phone. Are there any BRAVE sprint users out there that want to give it a try. You will be testing two things.
1.) Does the microSD card update described in the Treo Pro Service Manual work with unsigned roms?
2.) Does my 6.5 rom work?
Make sure you have a backup of the current sprint rom! Hopefully if it there is a problem, you can reflash the sprint rom for the 1.04 update. If you don't have it, get it off of Palms support website.

73 Mb is only the OS part. I don't think that such a thing will work.... WM 6.5 OS with WM 6.1 XIP? mmmmmhhh.....
Hello everybody. I'm completely noob, so please have a little patience with me. I have a Treo 750 in italian, and my final goal is to flash it to wm6-english. But for start, i don't know what Treo i have. I read about Cingular, At&t, etc...
mine sais TREO750-1.16-H3I, h-ware version A, firmware version 1.27.0b.00.
So whom am i talking to every day? Is there a special version of wm6 for my phone?
I thought i'l start from here. Any help would be appreciated...
Ok... noone? At least tell me how I can figure if my phone is unlocked or unbrenched...
Or could someone point me to a tutorial-thread of flashing the phone... from the beginning to the end.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Cheetah_WM6
Maybe you'll find something around here for the beginning, ...
Stupi ... it doesn't matter which Treo you have when it comes to flashing ROMs.
Just do the HardSPL first. That way you can pick the English language ROM of your choice to flash and it will work. You also get the benefit of unlocking the phone so it can be used on any GSM network.
Ideally, you'd be best to pick an English ROM provided by the same company that provides your cellular service, but it is not required. If you pick one from another cell company (or a hacked one) then you might have to enter your network settings manually, but that's the only difficult part.
Plenty of resources in this forum. Do some searching and you'll find everything you need. Good luck!
One question, thought... i could'n find the answer on the forum. I downloaded the unlocher, but it sais it only works with spl 1.11, at least... Mine is 0.22.
I tried then to update with RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10_108_Ship.exe, but in the "current information about your pda phone" it didn' recognize my pda. I got affraid of bricking it.
So, it seems to me my first problem is updating the spl from 0.22 to 1.11. But I cannot find the software to do this..
Come on men, this has to be simple. I need some help here, please. I'm stuck up with wm5 over a week now...
so, the first thimg I must do, a hard-spl, that's what I understood. This can be done with ceetah_unlocker.
Ok, i launch the application, and it sais it can't start only with 1.11 spl. Mine is 0.22.0000
So the first thing i have to do is update this 0.22 spl to 1.11. Am I right?
But how?
Find one of the WM6.0 desktop updaters and try installing that. They don't require a HardSPL first.
Use one of the following:
AT&T English: Treo750_2_25_ATT_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip
Rest of World English: Treo750_2_23_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.zip
Three Australia: Treo750_2_19_H3E_DesktopUpdater.zip
Vodaphone UK English: Treo750_2_18_VFU_DesktopUpdater.zip
I don't have any links as they aren't hosted by Palm anymore. You should be able to find them by looking around the XDA Forum, or by searching the net and/or torrent sites for the filenames above.
thanks a lot, man, but I lost my pathience and i run the cheetah_unlocker... and I didn't brick it. So, now I'm ready for the next step...
please, if anyone pm me with a win 6...
ok, my spl is ok (1.4), i put the CHEEIMG.nbh on my sd card, and I run the step 1 of cheetah unlocker. And nothing happens.. still boots with wm5. I even did a hard reset.
Man, i'm goig crazy... what am i missing?
Please, someone could upload again one of those 4 files? I could find neither of them with goolge.
So, i found the updater, but it won't update my phone since it's in italian...
guess I'll need to do it the hard way. Please, can someone point me a post or a tutorial to update from 5.0 to 6?

I must be missing something. I made those steps, all went ok. But how the heck do i change the windows version? That's my goal, not to flash the spl.
I got a win 6 image (i hope, at least), copied the CHEEIMG.nbh file on the card (which is fat 32), and i repeated step one from cheetah-unlocker. As I hoped that after flashing the new windows would automatically install. But nothing happened, the old win was up and running.
Come on man, I'm not such a bad person after all to deserve this... I may have killed a few birds or cats in my childhood, but this is too much... you're killing me.. I'm stuck in this spagetti windows, and I can't upgrade to a normal english windows... what the heck am i missing?
well, if you haven't gotten it sorted by now, hope this helps: once you've hard spl'd, put the new image that you want to flash in the root on your card [<2gb, fat32 formatted] and then hold media and push reset. your phone will cycle into the bootloader [rgb screen], detect the image and ask if you want to flash.
I did something really dumb even though I was advised not to. I managed to get the Windows Phone 10 Technical Preview on my HTC One M8 for Windows. The OS version that got pushed to it simply is not compatible with this hardware and so many things don't work. I want to go back but the Microsoft-provided recovery tool doesn't detect the phone because it was never intended to work with this model. In short, my question is does anyone have a way to just flash an HTC One M8 for Windows back to the factory T-Mobile ROM that it came with out of the box? If so, where do I get it and how can I flash to it? HTC has no recovery tool to speak of for this phone, Microsoft was just as much help, and TMo wants me to pay an insurance deductible before they will replace the thing. I will be ever so grateful if someone can help out.
Thanks!

Generally I think you are out of luck until they launch the Windows 10TP for HTC M8's. When that happens, you should be able to use the Windows Phone Recovery Tool to re-flash your phone. It looks like it's basically a re-skinned version of the Lumia Software Recovery tool, and it only makes sense for them to release this as well if they are going to be providing a way to recover and flash non-Lumia branded phones in the future.
There is a way to re-flash the HTC One M8 for Windows if you have the ROM, but so far only the Verizon version has leaked. I hope this is not your only phone, because if you wait a month or so you should be able to re-flash using the Microsoft tool
You have absolutely no right to be mad at Microsoft, HTC and/or T-Mobile for the problems. They are completely justified making you pay the deductible to get this fixed, why should they eat the cost of fixing it?
Don't get me wrong, I don't blame anyone but myself for this. I'm simply surprised that there isn't a recovery option out there in general. Someone could have a problem that isn't their fault at all that could benefit from having this. That being said, I have an open ticket with the HTC dev team. All I really want is access to a ROM that must clearly already exist. The software got on the phone in the first place, right? Of course I am not a dev and probably have no idea what I'm talking about. I apologize if I'm coming off as an ass looking for a hand out. It just seems to me that this is a simple issue with a simple fix. I know from when I had a Lumia device that I could open up the navifirm+ software and download any ROM for any windows phone from any region of the world.

Fair enough. Its a bit weird that only Nokia put out any kind of program to re-flash phones, but I have a feeling that the app Microsoft has put out will, going forward, be used to reflash any Windows Phone that is having problems. They kind of need to provide that functionality if they are going to take control of the update process from the carriers (which i know they want to do, whether they actually pull it off remains to be seen).
I'd say just hang in there, you will likely be able to re-flash in a month or so. I hope you can somehow get access to the rom, but there isn't program released to flash it on the phone (though there are ways, look at the Verizon RUU thread. There is also a Youtube video out there showing how to do it)
i was the first with htc w8 (tmous) to hack the w10 beta on it if you check my twitter.

a way to go back to stock before even considering such a highly
experimental thing to your precious device?
sure you can't expect any support from ms or tmous for that scenario.
i flashed back to w81 the next day already because of htc related bugs.
i will restore it for you if you send it to me and pay 2-way shipping.
this is a one time personal offer from me that i will do for you.
contact me via pm if you didn't send it in yet.
let this be a lesson to you guys...

Thanks!

You might be out of luck for now at the moment. I'm sure the TMo ROMS aren't available, otherwise you would be able to. Remember that the trick to update to Windows 10 Preview was AT YOUR OWN RISK due the fact that the phone isn't OFFICIALLY SUPPORTED

Is it possible to flash the stock rom on a verizon phone?
sure. by stock rom i mean the original rom meant for the device/carrier.
on verizon w8 -> verizon rom
on at&t w8 -> at&t rom
on tmous w8 -> tmous rom
don't try to flash different carrier rom. it won't work.
all 3 carrier variants have different modelID which is checked before allowing flash.

there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55201370&postcount=2
download the htc RUU that i attached to this post and extract with winrar.
place the htc w8 verizon nbh in the extracted RUU folder with filename "RUU_Signed.nbh".
then go into bootloader (power off, then hold vol-&vol+ while pressing power until it vibrates).
it will show white bootloader screen with hardware info.
when the pc installed the drivers for bootloader mode it switches from "serial" to "usb" on the bottom.
then doubleclick the ROMUpdateUtility.exe and it will flash the phone.
everything will be wiped of course.

The latest build of Win10 works way better on a One M8 btw. I have installed it using the registry method and running it without many problems. So if you have a t-mobile/at&t version of this phone (where there is no RUU availible) with windows 10 installed i advice upgrading to the latest build.
really? i noticed bugs with background picture not showing and many htc apps/settings not working..
they work now on latest build?

I downloaded the newest version, 2.0.3, of the recovery tool. Even though it says it supports HTC devices it still fails to rollback my Verizon HTC M8. I receive the error: "Software Package is not found on server"
This is after the tool recognizes my device and asks me to restart in boot-loader mode.
Anyone else have success with using ver. 2.0.3 with a HTC M8?

Recognized my T-Mobile M8 and flashed WP8.1 successfully.
Not able to update to latest Windows 10 mobile TP build
My HTC One is currently on 10.0.12562.84 (Build 10080). For some reason I am not able to see the latest build 10.0.12648.133 (Build 10149). Any one able to update to the latest build. Any idea why I'm not seeing it still?
Tried using the phone recovery tool to flash back to 8.1 but it says no builds available.
