[ROM] FingerMe 0.5 [In Development - Needs Nightly Alpha Testers] - Wing, P4350 ROM development

FingerMe 0.5
Updates:
- I'm in need of Nightly alpha testers. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5223673&postcount=143
- RAM Usage on regular edition (non-stripped) of FingerMe on WM6.5 looks really good! 22.5mb of RAM on boot. That's with Rhodium Notification enhancements, but not with the keyboard. I still have some stuff to cut and some stuff to add in, so hopefully it'll stay around 22.5mb.
- Around 32mb of free storage on regular 6.5 edition also. LZX should be able to get it up significantly higher.
- Unfortunately, the Lite 6.5 version hasn't been getting RAM much higher than the regular version. Around 22.8-23mb with Manilla2D 2.0, Bluetooth, Comm manager, and Internet Sharing.
- Around 46.75mb of Storage on the Lite Version. This is without LZX compression.
What to Expect?
- A couple different versions including a regular, non-stripped, edition. Also a Lite version. Both will be available in LZX, a version for the Herald and the Wing will be available. Each version will also be available in WM6.1 and WM6.5 flavors.
- A newly themed dialer on the regular editions.
- Some special BIG additions to the FingerMe rom that I am not ready to discuss.
All in all, I am very happy with what I have so far, and I hope you guys are excited. The Wing community is still alive and cooking.

very nice. can't wait for the release.
by the way will you release fingerme version with Titanium included? I sometimes experiment with different interface thats why i need titanium installed even not to be used. I tried several roms with titanium but FingerME 0.2 although no titanium in 0.2 have almost all of the things I needed and I also feel it's faster compared to other wm6.5 rom

Sure I can produce a version with Titanium and Manilla. The FingerMe series is primarily Manilla based though so the theming and applications are designed around Manilla. Eventually I will produce a Titanium ROM, probably a few of them actually. I just don't want to get ahead of myself at the moment. I'm not content with the status of the FingerMe series, so I have to give it more time to release my other ideas.
If you decide you need a pure Titanium ROM immediately, I encourage you to try the other cooks ROMs too.

Screen Shots
Thanks for you great work!! Any more screen shots you can put up. They were looking good on the last thread that was taken down.
Oh and a heads up, the link in your signature still links to the old thread that was taken down.

Yeah I know, I have to fix the signature.
I was going to wait to put the screenshots until the 0.5 release. I currently haven't taken any yet. If you want, I can put up the old screenshots again.

Yes please
if you want to put up the old ones that would be great because, I'm a newb to the flashing thing, using AVA now, just trying to find just the right fix for me. I am really into the new notifications from the TP2.

Great News, I hope this one is without the Manila and include everything you did in your previous rom because am loving it , am using your previous Fingerme ROM 6.5 and i have a question, since that Topic is no longer avalible? in my Qkeyboard, letter " V " is not working any idea? when i press "V" i get the " * " sign, can you help me with that apreichner?

Hardware or software keyboard?
And like I said before, FingerMe is a Manilla type ROM series. If you need a non-Manilla ROM, you should give one of the other cooks roms a try. I have personally tested Ill's new stripped 6.5 ROM and it works very well.
The topic isn't available because I had to have a mod delete it because of some unnecessary disruption to the thread.

hardware keybord, key "V"
i would have given a run on his WM 6.5 but two most thing i use isnt in his rom i belive " * No bluetooth
* No NetCF " the latest build NETCF is must now so
am sticking with yours, its pretty stable on my phone. also the is it possible to include a battery meter anyplace? or like in the top would be nice.

Those screen shots are from WM 6.5.1 23034.
Do you own a T-Mobile Wing or a HTC Herald?

0.5
Im currently running 0.2... 6.5 and i must say its easily the most pleasing to the eye Ive seen so far, I cant wait to see 0.5... 6.5 any type of time frame not to rush but Im excited!! by the way Thank You for your hard work!!!

ya thats just a screen shot, from sum1 else, and just wanna to show you the battery meter
YES i have Tmobile wing, and the problem/missing i see in 6.5 are
1) letter "V" is not working on the Hardware (insted of letter V i get "*")
2) Battery meter is missing
3) Landscape Mode "Keyboard access to symbols" isnt working (Software), when i click the key it not doing in anything, it suppost to show the Symbols rite?

Waitn' for my fingerme fix!!!
I have to agree with the post above. I wrote the same problem with the letter "v" being the symbol "*" on the hardware keyboard of tmobile wing, with 6.5 ROM. Other than that and the number staying at one on the text message screen, I really have no complaints with this ROM.
Again I state, one of the greatest things given to this device. BRAVO!!!
P.S. Thanks for taking that smut off the old thread. It did have a lot of intresting feed back, but it sucks when someone has to downplay others work to highlight their own.

where is the fingerme 0.5

I think it would be prudent to just stay on-topic instead of everyone bringing up what happened to the old thread, lest we want the same to happen to this thread too.
@apreichner Can't wait to see the changes in the new release! Keep up the good work!

Alright, I know, I know... I said I wouldn't release a Titanium ROM for the FingerMe series. I changed my mind. FingerMe 0.5 will feature three Titanium Editions. A Titanium Classic (regular with apps), a Titanium Lite, and a Titanium Extra Light. I can't help myself . I am currently testing Titanium Extra Light at the moment. It has no bluetooth and no comm manager. 28.03mb of RAM, around 64mb of storage. LZX of course. All of this on a 4mb pagepool with Titanium!!
I also have planed for a 23034 build in the works. This will be purely a test build, so not too much support will be going towards this.
0.5 should be only a few more days, I'm sorry for the wait.

Oops, I'll definitely have more storage than that. Probably closer to 71mb. Accidentally left a pretty big app in the build.

when i turn it on i just have 17 or 18 mb ram free, and with ur previous roms i had 26 or 27
Hi ITJE,
In your other roms there was a very nice program, the network wizard which set all of the GPRS/MMS settings automatically. Is there any chance of releasing that, even if it is the cab or pointing me in the right direction? I searched the forum, but almost every version that I found does not have the settings for my country, while the one you used always had the settings.
Thanks

it all depends on whats installed on the rom
Its easy to make free ram, but then ppl ask why this and that is not installed etc etc.
But really, it makes little diffrence, if its 30 or 20 or w/e.
most ppl have their stuff on sd-card.
And yes, more storage/ram makes the rom faster, but in my experience ppl tend to reinstall applications removed to free up memory. Then whats the purpose?
I would rather have the stuff I use cooked into the rom then installing via cab, but thats me
And ofcourse, im just rambling hehe
I just need to have the rom working ok before I start finetuning ram/storage.
And that depends on clear feedback from users. And as I have pointed out before, I need to hear from several users if they have same problem, because ppl can have bugs/errors witch is not rom related, but 3 party app releated or perhaps errors on sd-card etc etc.

nice idea a fine rom of yours would be great, the ram issue is that i have hat ram just flashed and without sd, thats the reason that imprssed me heh
I am unfamiliar with your work/roms as I have a wizard mysef (as I'm sure you can see from my sig, lol), but my buddy has been asking me to hook up his wing for a while now.
I flashed his herald last night with this rom and have been impressed. Thanks for now making me jealous of my buddy's phone, lol.
After a day of use, texts have not been coming through but that's my fault as I did not flash the radio rom. I will now go search to see what radio has worked best with your previous roms and test. Do you have a suggestion as to which radio you think would be best with this rom?
Again though, thanks for your hard work. I will be testing the phone tonight as much as possible and will be sure to report back my findings. So far, looks awesome...thanks again for the beautiful rom!

looks good im flashing and giving it a try
I installed your ROM this morning, but had to load another one for a few different reasons. Here are my observations.
- Very slow to finalize (install cabs) at first startup. I kept thinking that it was locked up, but it finally finished after about 20-30 minutes.
- I didn't have any problems with soft-resetting when coming out of standby
- Did have problems with audio manager (you stated that already)
- I like the theme (blue)
- Semi Slow, but not that bad. Omapclock would take care of the speed. It was about the same as my original wm5 rom.
- Only 16M file memory left after install! Program memory looks fine.
- No office program: Main reason I can't test it anymore right now. I need word/excel for work.
- I had a hell of a time loading another rom. It kept locking up and would only reset to your rom. I had to manually put it in bootloader to finally load the original tmobile rom.
Overall, great start
I've been trying my hand at cooking a rom, but can't even get close. So good for you to get one up and running Keep it up and I'll try again on another version.
This is one of the Best looking roms I've seen so far.
1. Wifi will not turn off.
2. No Screen/key lock feture
3. No office
4. problems playing videos in WMP or HTC album
5. slow
6. Reset issue as you indicated (went to my power management and stop the device from going into sleep mode for now.)
Despite all the issues, I still don't want to remove the Rom just yet.
Great job cooking up this one.

it really took a while to finish, but it doesnt take me 20-30 mins to finish. most of M2D files are in extended ROM. i'm still having a hard time trimming down the files. M2d alone is a 12mb cab yet i've managed to trim it down to 5-6+mb. as i recall it was divided into 2+mb oem and a cab placed at the extended rom. opera is 4+mb cab file, but when i convert it to oem, it becomes around 8-9mb.

first of all thanks for testing the rom and for the feedbacks.
regarding wifi, hmmm i haven't tried it yet but i will look up to it.
no screen/keylock - i didn't pay too much attention on this one. i'll see what i can do about this.
no office since there's no more space left. but im still triming down file size to save more space and probably gain additional speed.
haven't play any videos yet.
looking for some way to gain more speed.
reset issue, i'm doing the same thing as u did.but its weird that after a couple of hours, my wizard is running normally except for touchflo which is still slow.
I really like the look of your today screen. Did you use the Touchflo 2d manilla?? I'd love to put it onto my today screen...I've heard it is still beta and not working well yet.
I'm going to have to wait to test this one out as my usb is acting up again, and I am trying to save it until I can get a repair done. Cosmetically it looks great, probably one of the prettiest roms I've seen. Once you get the bugs out, I look forward to taking it on a test run. I think it has great potential.

I just tried playing a video on wmp and it's working normally.
the skin is nicely done, try reworking the graphics (compress them in Photoshop)...try removing some extra stuff for eg
GSFinder
WM5torage
moBlu
and Games
these all could be replaced by office and still you'll have some space

actually i was planning to remove some apps. it's just at the last time i build it, the office was too large to fit in but so i placed those apps.
about M2D images, im still compressing it. there are too many files to compress. by default the M2D was atound 12mb in cab. then i turned it to OEM still having the same size. then i took all the image file and turn it into a cab then I have around 4-6mb cab. i also removed the avatar from it.
do you have any idea about the reset issue?
thanks

As a beta I think this is Good ; Tried it and the graphics was awesome ather90 is right you must remove some things for it to become faster

btw ok na fagev.di ko alam kung nacheck mo na
Consider my Wizard your wizard. Allow me the honour of testing for you. This is by far one of the better looking roms I've seen cooked up. I cant wait to go through the changes leading up to the final version.
now this is strange, i already flash tnt rom (19213) and noonski's rom and im still stuck in bootscree. so my updated rom wasn't the problem. i cannot post it unless i test it...
the updated rom now includes MS office and M2D Config.
free some space. probably customization will be faster (though i cannot guarantee since i can't try it) because i deleted 4 cabs which are m2d images, audiomanager, commmanager and opera.
i also compressed some images for m2d and delete some files which is 2mb+
im also figuring if internet tab can all on PIE instead of opera, in thta case, opera is not needed and save some space.
I've been trying this out since the day you put out beta. someone mentioned they needed office to be able to test. the one I downloaded does have office.
here is what i've found.
wifi does not work.
newer sim manager with save to contact function will help.
used to disconnet from activesync when goes into sleep not anymore.
If you could add opera and google maps it would be nice.
haven't found any other problem so far.
HTH
Love this default theme. I will make a try ^^.
FYI
hey mate,
tried to cook a couple of roms by myself. the thing - well, as far i have recognized - with manila 2d is the it has to be in the ROM. every installation after flashing (the ext. rom installation is nothing else) makes it unusable slow.

What are the Rhodium Menu & Notification Compatible Roms? (BUILD 21000 OR HIGHER)

Hello all, Im trying to test and see which roms will work with the new Rhodium menu enhancements and Rhodium notification enhancements cabs that have become available recently. The links describe how they require a minimum of 21000 or higher build ROM that is hard to determine on some newer roms because of the recent microsoft attorney hoax resulting in removing links. Can someone please list a rom or roms they have used that has worked with the above cabs installed and working. I will post the links I have obtained these cabs from below. Thanks in advance and everyone be well.

THANKS
Well, I have a 21032 port coming soon that happily runs the new menu enhancement. As for the Notification enhancement, no one has gotten it to run on QVGA devices correctly, yet. It requires TF3d and a few other things are hardcoded into the files, so it may still be awhile before we see this on a QVGA device.
Essentially, any new ROM build that is using 21028 or 21032 will support the menu enhancement. There is belief that the new enhancements require a 21000+ gwes.exe.

I'm working on rescaling all the images in the cabs for both in QVGA. Notifications ended up having a dll with icons in it. Going to have to replace the icons. It has 32x32 pixel icons and QVGA uses 16x16 pixel icons. This will also mean sdkcerts will be needed so this dll can be recognized once I mod it.

I've tried this, and it doesn't really work too well. I've also tried playing around with the values in the DLL File (not the images), but they don't seem to be the normal X,Y,W,H like they should be
I think they have made more progress in the other thread
BTW, I'm working on a new ROM with 21032 as a base

Yea, the work on notification enhancement has hit some serious snags, they've had some trouble just getting it from WVGA to VGA properly. Haha but I'm sure some of you guys in the Kaiser forums could whip it into shape, I'm always amazed at what gets done around here.
I can report the QVGA menu enhancement works just fine on Anryl's 21032 Iolite build. The PPC Geeks cab that got posted works fine but they changed the colors to a funky purple, I've been using this one which keeps the stock green: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3454909&postcount=130
There's a couple of other QVGA skins lurking around in that thread, too. From what I've gathered, nobody has gotten it to work on a 6.5 build yet? Seems that the gwes.exe isn't directly compatible.
So Far
All I did was install the notification enhancement from the first post and rebooted. I was using a 6.5 rom with chome or whatever its called so it didnt run correctly since I wasnt running m2d. I will post back after I reflash pdacorner v20 and try again.

PointROM v 2.0 Windows Mobile 6.1/PointUI 1.51a ROM - DOWNLOAD (LZX Version)
By Ace10134
Summary
The first T-Mobile Wing ROM with the original PointUI cooked in! If you loved the original PointUI (v 1.51a), then you'll love this ROM! It's got the amazing interface of PointUI, and some other enhancements to top it off!

Features:
RUU/Flash Center compatible
20.64 MB Free RAM and 35.21 MB Free Storage Space on fresh install (LZX: 20.16 MB Free RAM and 45.19 MB Free Storage)
PointUI basically replaces the entire today screen! It acts as a Today Screen, Start Menu, CommManager, Lock Screen, Task Manager, Contacts List, Volume Control, and probably more!
Touch scrolling (not TouchFLO) - Very smooth scrolling through everything. And, PointUI has it's own scrolling, which is extremely smooth
Speedier than the default T-Mobile ROM
T-Zones Data Plan Hack is already set up (using epc.tmobile.com)
Threaded SMS
Doesn't automatically delete your CAB's upon installation
EzInput keyboard - Finger friendly keyboard
Finger friendly Volume controls - Both the PointUI volume controls AND the Windows Mobile volume controls are finger friendly!
When in PointUI, you can use your Volume slider to navigate. Slide up to return to a previous menu, and slide down to scroll down one
Installed Programs
PointUI v 1.51a (The original PointUI interface)
ActiveSync
Bluetooth Explorer
Calculator
Calendar
Camera
Contacts
File Explorer Enhanced
Google Maps v 3.2

Internet Explorer (with zooming ability)
Internet Sharing
Messaging - Threaded SMS
Notes
Phone - Themed to PointUI
Pictures & Videos
PIM Backup
Search
SIM Manager
Task Manager
Tasks
Voice Recorder
Windows Media Player
Office Mobile - You have to press the Start button while in a Windows Mobile window to get to it. Will be fixed later. Sorry.
Microsoft Voice Command
Not Installed
Windows Live - For your Live e-mail, messenger, contacts sync, and profile status updater; Download free.
IM (That the default T-Mobile ROM had installed) - I recommend using Palringo IM, which is free and has multiple chat clients, including Facebook chat
Adobe Reader - Free Download
T-Zones - Who used it anyways???
Bugs
Office Mobile cannot be accessed through PointUI's program launcher. Go to a Windows Mobile window (like File Explorer), press your Start button (on the phone, not on the screen), and then click Office Mobile for now.
Found another bug? Tell me, please!
Change Logs/Past Versions
---1.0---
Started from the base ROM that Holly's kitchen had.
Cooked in PointUI v 1.51a.
Made PointUI automatically boot up after setup completes
Removed "KeyLock.exe". Not sure if that changed anything though.
Removed the "SlidingSound.exe", but it still makes a sound when sliding.
Removed "AutoUpdate", some Enterprise features, Live Search, and some other things.
Themed some of the Dialer screen.
Removed Sample Music files, RemoteDesktopMobile program, Transcriber, and WelcomeCenter.
---1.5--- (LZX too)
Removed CommManager (PointUI has one).
Created a PointUI spash screen.
Themed Windows Mobile to match PointUI more.
Themed almost all of the dialer to match PointUI.
Removed Sample Pictures.
Replaced the Live Search icon in Internet Explorer with the Bing icon.
Completely themed the default Call Log inside the default WinMo dialer to match PointUI.
---2.0--- (LZX too)
Added File Explorer Enhanced.
Finished theming the Phone dialer.
Cooked in a newer version of NetCF so that most programs should work.
Added Google Maps v 3.2 (can be uninstalled if you want).
Fixed the duplicate "PointUI" shortcuts in the Applications list.
Disabled the keyboard Sliding Sound.
Added EzInput keyboard from the HTC Mega ROM
Added HTC Notification Enhancement from the HTC Mega ROM (only themes the notification windows, like a new text message window).
Removed Adobe Flash (Did anyone use it? Not that I knew of).
Removed extra ringtones.
My Thanks
I'd like to thank everyone that has cooked before me. All of the tools and instructions on how to cook were great. I'm trying to leave behind some wonderful guides on how to cook, too. Some people I would like to thank individually...
ToadLife - His kitchen is wonderful. A perfect starting point for my ROM. (He got the kitchen from Ivan, who got it from someone else, so thanks to everyone before ToadLife!)
Ivan - An awesome cook who wrote wonderful guides. He's always willing to help.
The Community - You guys all make this so much fun. Keep up the feedback! (good or bad feedback)

Wow, that sounds great! Oh, but will pointui have any skins or applets added in? Because whenever I installed it, I never completely liked how limited the default applets were.

Remember, this is PointUI v 1.51a
PointUI v 2 (pointui.com) is the one that has a bunch of skinning abilities and installable applets.
But, I included the "old" version since it's different, and I like it more. I was disapointed with the new "remodeled" version that they made (pointui v 2), so I went back to the old one.
Sooo....Answering your question...skinning is very limited with this. It is possible, but there aren't many skins out there, since no one is really developing for the old version. They all moved on to version 2, where skinning is easy.
And the applets, they also aren't customizable, I believe. I'm considering making a ROM with PointUI v 2 cooked in, and then you will get full skinning/applet control. Maybe you'd like that more. Tell me what you think!
No, you're right. The main reason why I preferred PointUI 1.5 to 2 is really the lockscreen applet. It was very stylish. For some reason, the lock applet is exclusive to the pro version of PointUI 2. Besides, 1.5 is probably lighter than 2. So 1.5 would be the better choice for memory.

Yea. I haven't looked at 2.0 for a while. And I don't like paying for things.
But, if you'd like to test this ROM, I'm uploading it to Skydrive right now...Slow connection, but it'll go up there soon.
Download link is up there now. Still a pre-release, but you can download and try it out. (.7z compressed, so use 7zip to extract!)

I tried it, but I couldn't get it to work. Then I figured I should just try to make a working Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, modify it, and learn how the kitchen works. Heck, I've only been "cooking" for 3 days now. I gotta learn a lot, I think. And it's tough finding a really quality guide online.
About the PointROM...I created v 1.2 now. Just some minor changes (working on removing extra crap and theming the OS). The Skydrive uploads will see day of light on every .5 versions. So 1.5 will be the next up there (around tomorrow).
Can anyone create Windows Mobile theme files??? (.tsk) I need some help with that. If anyone could find or create a PointUI theme for the Windows Mobile part of the OS, then that would be awesome. I had no luck with it. I'm also working on skinning the dialer (I might include Phone Canvas) and also replacing all of the WinMo icons so that they match PointUI. If anyone could create the .tsk theme, that'd be great.

Sure, I could do it. I have a theme maker lying around here somewhere. Could you just give me the background graphic that pointUI uses? That way I could use that as a reference. Since it's a 6.1 theme, it won't have fancy transparencies or stuff that the 6.5 themes do, just a basic gradient at most. Also, downloading and flashing now. (though that seems a waste if you're going to post a new release tomorrow...)

Well the next release shouldn't be anything major. I make minor changes so that if anything goes wrong, I can change it.
And I couldn't really find the PointUI background anywhere. I say, just use the background color from the Applications menu inside PointUI. I have that color attached. It's a solid color. Then I guess the top and bottom bars should be a lighter blue than the attached file. That would look good. And you should make them the glossy bars, not those flat ones that lots of ROM's use now. Think you can do that? That would be awesome. I could cook you a special ROM version with some of your programs cooked in or something, if you'd like.
Oh, you know what, you should try to make the background image so that there's that little blue glowing bar at the bottom. You can see it in the attached image, right at the bottom.
So can you make that work as the background? It's a pretty simple image. And anyways, the Today screen won't ever really be seen, so it's no big deal. What I care more about are the WinMo Bars theme. Make those a nice PointUI-ish blue gloss color. Use your phone and screenshots as a reference. If you need more PointUI screenshots, I've got them all on my computer.
I look forward to seeing the theme!

LZX is no problem. The most trouble about an LZX version is uploading it...my connection is slowwww. But yea, I'll make LZX, how about on the 1.5 release?
All in all, a nice ROM, there's just the problem of it being nearly stock. Many of the nice things that make WinMo a joy to use (nice SIPs, finger-friendly enhancements, task managers) aren't there. Of course, this is just an alpha build, so I'm sure all of the improvements are on the way! (also, keeping voice command is a nice touch, especially since I got a new headset)

Finger-friendly enhancements - It's PointUI!! How more friendly could you get!! And then the soft menu's are a little larger than stock. Honestly, tell me what can be improved, and I'll work on it.
Task Manager - PointUI IS a task manager. From the home screen, click on Applications and then on Currently Running. There you can go into a running program and then close it (by tapping on the Start Menu while in the app, and then clicking Force Close. How would you like that improved? (I can't change anything inside PointUI, remember)
SIP (On-Screen Keyboard) - Yea, I know. It's the default WinMo one. I'll change it sometime, possibly. Recommend a keyboard for me to cook in, then.
Voice Command - I figured I'd keep that in, especially since that dam iPhone has it (and acted like they invented it, like they do with everything).
But it seems like you're liking it so far!! V 1.5 will be coming up soon, with more complete theming. V 2.0 might be more of a full release. Tell me what you think!
Just looked at your screenshots...You're not supposed to even use the old Today Screen!! The point is that it's a PointUI ROM! That's why I did nothing with the Start Menu's size, because you will never touch the Start Menu. But yea, I like that keyboard. Give me a link or name to the keyboard.

About 22 MB Free RAM, and about 37 MB free Storage Space upon booting it up (with PointUI running).
After using the phone for a few hours (running Internet Explorer, etc), I closed all of the apps, and RAM was at about 18 MB. So, it holds up pretty well!
I'm not writing up everything about this ROM yet, since it's ever changing. Expect that storage space to increase as versions go.

PointUI freezes, right? That's not really "frozen", it's a bug in PointUI. When trying to scroll through a list (usually the Applications list), scrolling freezes, and no touches on the screen are registered. But, it still works by using your D-Pad. So, go up to the Return arrow with your D-Pad, and then your touchscreen will be working again.

If flashing a custom cooked ROM, run auto.bat
Follow the prompts in the DOS window
Hit "continue" center button on your phone, screen will turn black
Run RomUpdateUtility.exe (if it doesn't run via the script)
The flash will take about 5 minutes
If your device is already HardSPL, simply run RomUpdateUtility.exe and follow the prompts
Upon first boot, it will seem frozen for a few minutes, maybe even go black. This is NORMAL!

Flashed, now looking at your 3V0 startup screen. oooo shiny
Thanks so much!!
Will post back soon, to say how its working.
question about this new Rom build 3VO.100.082609..
Is this a Rom for the dash s620 ( excalibur?? ) I installed your 3VO.2.50.080809 which works great and downloaded this new one to my PC but I need to know if this works on the older dash phone that I have, I see it is NOT for the Dash 3G...
Thanks!
since ive been running it..ive snagged a few bugs.
1. no number input with skyfire. even after 2 sep installs after a hardboot.
2. i keep getting an ERROR msg that reads : Outlook Email : Couldnt establish internet interpreter. ( whats that about??? )
3. when starting i.e. , the initial screen is blank..and is super slow.
4. sktools i think has a problem with ur ROM. ever since i installed it things have been a bit quirky. - de-installed, so far so good!
5. album viewer is a big scrambly. not the whole app itself but the highlight bar is scrambled.
and thats all i got for now. will report back with more if anything else.
addendum to question I asked earlier... about your build 3VO.1.00.82609..
Ooops I see this is a Rom for the 3G Dash... does that mean it will work for my older dash ( excalibur?? ) or should I keep the 3VO.2.50.080809 one that I have already installed and not mess with installing the 3G dash one..?
Thanks again!
thanks! quick UI question
amazing! thanks so much.
quick UI question:
is there a way to get the phone to have a "default" windows mobile 6.5 look, as seen in the following post:
http://www.gadgetvenue.com/windows-mobile-65-announced-02161557/
and not have the stylized "start" button, other elements, etc?
thanks again!

Thats WM 6.5 PRO you're looking at. WM 6.5 Standard will never look like that.
I'm not flashing yet, but I just wanted to say thank you for you great work.
Thank you Ookba for your hard work, ROM works ok so far. 1 small bug tho, QuickGPS not working for me when I click on it. I set location to ON and QuickGPS still not launch, can we get a quick fix when you got a chance, Thanks .
Just flashed successfully. Hope this works as I didn't realize there was no stock rom to go back to!
EDIT: Love the UI but there are a couple of show stopping bugs
1. I can't input my license key into Kinoma Play Full so I can't even use it. I think it's because the function key doesn't work. The symbol key won't work either.
2. In Opera mini, the keyboard is broken - everything works except the keys with numbers on them (qwesdfzxc). When you press them they are the wrong letters and don't work.
3. Can't enter numbers in skyfire (function key broken).
Email is working so far for me.
Couple more rather large bugs:
Function key doesn't work in any sort of text box (entering in my wireless security key, for example).
Bluetooth won't turn on. The colored wheel just spins forever. - NEVER MIND for some reason after a couple of reboots it works properly
And a minor one:
Clauncher doesn't work - I can't add anything from a list as it says "no file is selected" even when it is.
Other than these bugs though I really love the rom. The interface is much more enjoyable to use than 6.1. Thanks for the good work.
I keep having an issue where the romupdate program manages to get my ozone into the tricolor boot loader and then to show 0% but both just sit there at 0% until it errors saying it can't connect (like 5-7 minutes later). Any ideas? Had the hardspl from the link you posted and SDA unlocked.

Sounds like your phone isn't really HardSPL. Does the bootloader say SPL.0.39.Hard? It will only do that if it's not letting you flash because of security of the Bootloader.

I was able to enter my WEP key just fine using the alt key. I will check it out. I did notice BT doesn't actually turn on until a reboot. How to explain that one?? Clauncher works, you just have to make sure you're in the right tab when selecting. It's a tad tricky. It's normal Mortscrit behavior.

did u do a hard reset after installing the ROM?? ..and program ur device thru vzw? *228
upon doing so it basically resets all ur data info and sets ur phone up for use.
the only reason i ask is because thats what i did and quickgps updated with no issues.

It turns out that when there is only 1 exe in a folder/tab you cannot select it. It works when there are a bunch in a directory (like windows). When there is only 1 exe (for example, Program files/Astraware Casino) clauncher cannot leave the first tab. Don't know if this is a rom problem or a mortscript one.
Thanks!
One small suggestion for everyone:
HARD RESET YOUR DEVICE AFTER INSTALL!
Just wondering, whats the difference between this build of 6.5 vs build 23022 or 23037?
