Summary
The first T-Mobile Wing ROM with the original PointUI cooked in! If you loved the original PointUI (v 1.51a), then you'll love this ROM! It's got the amazing interface of PointUI, and some other enhancements to top it off!

Features:
RUU/Flash Center compatible
20.64 MB Free RAM and 35.21 MB Free Storage Space on fresh install (LZX: 20.16 MB Free RAM and 45.19 MB Free Storage)
PointUI basically replaces the entire today screen! It acts as a Today Screen, Start Menu, CommManager, Lock Screen, Task Manager, Contacts List, Volume Control, and probably more!
Touch scrolling (not TouchFLO) - Very smooth scrolling through everything. And, PointUI has it's own scrolling, which is extremely smooth
Speedier than the default T-Mobile ROM
T-Zones Data Plan Hack is already set up (using epc.tmobile.com)
Threaded SMS
Doesn't automatically delete your CAB's upon installation
EzInput keyboard - Finger friendly keyboard
Finger friendly Volume controls - Both the PointUI volume controls AND the Windows Mobile volume controls are finger friendly!
When in PointUI, you can use your Volume slider to navigate. Slide up to return to a previous menu, and slide down to scroll down one

Microsoft Voice Command
Not Installed
Windows Live - For your Live e-mail, messenger, contacts sync, and profile status updater; Download free.
IM (That the default T-Mobile ROM had installed) - I recommend using Palringo IM, which is free and has multiple chat clients, including Facebook chat
Adobe Reader - Free Download
T-Zones - Who used it anyways???
Bugs
Office Mobile cannot be accessed through PointUI's program launcher. Go to a Windows Mobile window (like File Explorer), press your Start button (on the phone, not on the screen), and then click Office Mobile for now.
Found another bug? Tell me, please!
Change Logs/Past Versions
---1.0---
Started from the base ROM that Holly's kitchen had.
Cooked in PointUI v 1.51a.
Made PointUI automatically boot up after setup completes
Removed "KeyLock.exe". Not sure if that changed anything though.
Removed the "SlidingSound.exe", but it still makes a sound when sliding.
Removed "AutoUpdate", some Enterprise features, Live Search, and some other things.
Themed some of the Dialer screen.
Removed Sample Music files, RemoteDesktopMobile program, Transcriber, and WelcomeCenter.
---1.5--- (LZX too)
Removed CommManager (PointUI has one).
Created a PointUI spash screen.
Themed Windows Mobile to match PointUI more.
Themed almost all of the dialer to match PointUI.
Removed Sample Pictures.
Replaced the Live Search icon in Internet Explorer with the Bing icon.
Completely themed the default Call Log inside the default WinMo dialer to match PointUI.
---2.0--- (LZX too)
Added File Explorer Enhanced.
Finished theming the Phone dialer.
Cooked in a newer version of NetCF so that most programs should work.
Added Google Maps v 3.2 (can be uninstalled if you want).
Fixed the duplicate "PointUI" shortcuts in the Applications list.
Disabled the keyboard Sliding Sound.
Added EzInput keyboard from the HTC Mega ROM
Added HTC Notification Enhancement from the HTC Mega ROM (only themes the notification windows, like a new text message window).
Removed Adobe Flash (Did anyone use it? Not that I knew of).
Removed extra ringtones.
My Thanks
I'd like to thank everyone that has cooked before me. All of the tools and instructions on how to cook were great. I'm trying to leave behind some wonderful guides on how to cook, too. Some people I would like to thank individually...
ToadLife - His kitchen is wonderful. A perfect starting point for my ROM. (He got the kitchen from Ivan, who got it from someone else, so thanks to everyone before ToadLife!)
Ivan - An awesome cook who wrote wonderful guides. He's always willing to help.
The Community - You guys all make this so much fun. Keep up the feedback! (good or bad feedback)
For Chefs
You can use my OEM, SYS, and XIP folder if you want. I have no problem with you using them.

Wow, that sounds great! Oh, but will pointui have any skins or applets added in? Because whenever I installed it, I never completely liked how limited the default applets were.

Remember, this is PointUI v 1.51a
PointUI v 2 (pointui.com) is the one that has a bunch of skinning abilities and installable applets.
But, I included the "old" version since it's different, and I like it more. I was disapointed with the new "remodeled" version that they made (pointui v 2), so I went back to the old one.
Sooo....Answering your question...skinning is very limited with this. It is possible, but there aren't many skins out there, since no one is really developing for the old version. They all moved on to version 2, where skinning is easy.
And the applets, they also aren't customizable, I believe. I'm considering making a ROM with PointUI v 2 cooked in, and then you will get full skinning/applet control. Maybe you'd like that more. Tell me what you think!

No, you're right. The main reason why I preferred PointUI 1.5 to 2 is really the lockscreen applet. It was very stylish. For some reason, the lock applet is exclusive to the pro version of PointUI 2. Besides, 1.5 is probably lighter than 2. So 1.5 would be the better choice for memory.

Yea. I haven't looked at 2.0 for a while. And I don't like paying for things.
But, if you'd like to test this ROM, I'm uploading it to Skydrive right now...Slow connection, but it'll go up there soon.

Download link is up there now. Still a pre-release, but you can download and try it out. (.7z compressed, so use 7zip to extract!)

I tried it, but I couldn't get it to work. Then I figured I should just try to make a working Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, modify it, and learn how the kitchen works. Heck, I've only been "cooking" for 3 days now. I gotta learn a lot, I think. And it's tough finding a really quality guide online.
About the PointROM...I created v 1.2 now. Just some minor changes (working on removing extra crap and theming the OS). The Skydrive uploads will see day of light on every .5 versions. So 1.5 will be the next up there (around tomorrow).
Can anyone create Windows Mobile theme files??? (.tsk) I need some help with that. If anyone could find or create a PointUI theme for the Windows Mobile part of the OS, then that would be awesome. I had no luck with it. I'm also working on skinning the dialer (I might include Phone Canvas) and also replacing all of the WinMo icons so that they match PointUI. If anyone could create the .tsk theme, that'd be great.

Sure, I could do it. I have a theme maker lying around here somewhere. Could you just give me the background graphic that pointUI uses? That way I could use that as a reference. Since it's a 6.1 theme, it won't have fancy transparencies or stuff that the 6.5 themes do, just a basic gradient at most. Also, downloading and flashing now. (though that seems a waste if you're going to post a new release tomorrow...)

Well the next release shouldn't be anything major. I make minor changes so that if anything goes wrong, I can change it.
And I couldn't really find the PointUI background anywhere. I say, just use the background color from the Applications menu inside PointUI. I have that color attached. It's a solid color. Then I guess the top and bottom bars should be a lighter blue than the attached file. That would look good. And you should make them the glossy bars, not those flat ones that lots of ROM's use now. Think you can do that? That would be awesome. I could cook you a special ROM version with some of your programs cooked in or something, if you'd like.
Oh, you know what, you should try to make the background image so that there's that little blue glowing bar at the bottom. You can see it in the attached image, right at the bottom.
So can you make that work as the background? It's a pretty simple image. And anyways, the Today screen won't ever really be seen, so it's no big deal. What I care more about are the WinMo Bars theme. Make those a nice PointUI-ish blue gloss color. Use your phone and screenshots as a reference. If you need more PointUI screenshots, I've got them all on my computer.
I look forward to seeing the theme!

LZX is no problem. The most trouble about an LZX version is uploading it...my connection is slowwww. But yea, I'll make LZX, how about on the 1.5 release?

All in all, a nice ROM, there's just the problem of it being nearly stock. Many of the nice things that make WinMo a joy to use (nice SIPs, finger-friendly enhancements, task managers) aren't there. Of course, this is just an alpha build, so I'm sure all of the improvements are on the way! (also, keeping voice command is a nice touch, especially since I got a new headset)

Finger-friendly enhancements - It's PointUI!! How more friendly could you get!! And then the soft menu's are a little larger than stock. Honestly, tell me what can be improved, and I'll work on it.
Task Manager - PointUI IS a task manager. From the home screen, click on Applications and then on Currently Running. There you can go into a running program and then close it (by tapping on the Start Menu while in the app, and then clicking Force Close. How would you like that improved? (I can't change anything inside PointUI, remember)
SIP (On-Screen Keyboard) - Yea, I know. It's the default WinMo one. I'll change it sometime, possibly. Recommend a keyboard for me to cook in, then.
Voice Command - I figured I'd keep that in, especially since that dam iPhone has it (and acted like they invented it, like they do with everything).
But it seems like you're liking it so far!! V 1.5 will be coming up soon, with more complete theming. V 2.0 might be more of a full release. Tell me what you think!
Just looked at your screenshots...You're not supposed to even use the old Today Screen!! The point is that it's a PointUI ROM! That's why I did nothing with the Start Menu's size, because you will never touch the Start Menu. But yea, I like that keyboard. Give me a link or name to the keyboard.

About 22 MB Free RAM, and about 37 MB free Storage Space upon booting it up (with PointUI running).
After using the phone for a few hours (running Internet Explorer, etc), I closed all of the apps, and RAM was at about 18 MB. So, it holds up pretty well!
I'm not writing up everything about this ROM yet, since it's ever changing. Expect that storage space to increase as versions go.

And a ROM with SPB MOBILE SHEL 3.01, LIKE SONY ERICSON SXPERIA. The User flash if have a key bought or not.

PointUI freezes, right? That's not really "frozen", it's a bug in PointUI. When trying to scroll through a list (usually the Applications list), scrolling freezes, and no touches on the screen are registered. But, it still works by using your D-Pad. So, go up to the Return arrow with your D-Pad, and then your touchscreen will be working again.

[27 March] "Mobile Vista" v1.2 released (my cooked 3.02 WM6.1 ROM)

I've just finished uploading v1.2 of my little ROM. As the previous thread with v1 and v1.1 was getting a bit long, I hope you don't mind me starting a fresh one with this.
Please read all of the first two posts. There is some very important info hidden in there, and it's well worth spending the 2 minutes reading it all!
If you're looking for a stripped out, ultra-light ROM for you to load up with your choice of cabs, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place. Light ROMs are great, but I got bored spending an hour reinstalling and re-setting up my phone every time I flashed (UC helps with this, but you still have to spend some time setting it up). I wanted a ROM that was set up with everything I wanted as soon as the Hard Reset was finished - hence my little ROM here.
Why the name "Mobile Vista"? I initially chose it as Wm6.1 and Vista are both the newest release from MS, and both have been accused of being buggy, but I've personally found them both great! Now I need to stick with it as Mfrazzz very kindly made me a lovely splash screen with it written on - cool!
Sincere thanks to Ionutz6, Ghostie, Poorlyduck, Mfrazzz, Duttythroy, Nadavi, _Alex_, Dr Puttingham, and everyone else whose work I've used to make this. Thank you.

Bugs
TodayAgenda still crashes when you go to the Options via Start>Settings>Today>TodayAgenda>Options. Just tap and hold TodayAgenda on the Today Screen, then select Options and it's fine.
ROM is UC-compliant but only UCv1, not the newer UCv2. This is because I forgot to update this before I uploaded the ROM! I'll fix this and upload a UCv2 Rom ASAP.
MMS Options isn't selectable. Please install Alex's Arcsoft 5.0.31.2 cab to fix this at the moment. (Thanks to McMex and Mfrazzz for finding this bug and it's solution)
Niggles
Windows media Player doesn't start after a Hard Reset on PoorlyDuck's excellent Vista skin, you need to select it through Options>Skins>WMP11
How to flash:
If you don't understand ANY of the terms in the following paragraph, stop, look them up on the WIKI BEFORE you proceeed. If you don't, you WILL end up with a useless phone (a brick)!
Make sure you've got HardSPL
Connect your phone via the USB cable and run the KaiserCutomRUU file
Follow the screen prompts
When you get to the screen alignment bit, Hard Reset the phone
When you get to the screen alignment bit again, leave the phone alone for 2 minutes before doing the alignment (this seems to help speed up the Kaiser)
Follow the rest of the inital screens and let the Autocustomisation run. Your ROM is now installed.
If you haven't got a WM6.1 Radio installed, you'll need to flash one now or your sounds and/or camera won't work. Check here if you're not sure: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_Radio

Very nice... I have it installed and have been configuring for an hour or so. I've run into one issue though and I'm hoping there is a solution (I haven't tried to debug it myself yet, just wanted to post this as soon as possible):
If I go to Messaging and then Menu -> MMS Options , I get a blank screen saying to Select Menu and Search Devices to find the new devices (Which I believe is from the BlueTooth options. I wonder if there is a wrong DLL. What version of Arcsoft did you use?). Tapping Menu gives the options of Search Devices, Delete, and Send File (with the last two greyed out). So right now, you cannot modify MMS Options from the Messaging app Can someone else that has this installed try this and tell me if you get the same thing?

Yes I got the same thing I installed an arcsoft SMS cab I had and it fixed the issue. I use the Palm threaded MMS/SMS app anyway so I installed it and everything is great..
Ah another find Stu Rom. can't wait to give it a go. Will probably have to wait a day or so, but I'll report in as soon as I do.
I personally picked Stu's rom because TomTom is built right in. I don't need alot of the other stuff but it's nice to have it all there. Very little to add on with this one.

[Discuss] JustMe - 4 flavors (formelly Just2Stuffed) [Update 06/23/08]

UPDATE 06/23/08
I'm having some issues with a few things. As usual, time is amongst them. In any case, the LZX version is just too slow for my taste... but maybe it's because I've been using a small pagepool with it.
In any case, attached is a teaser. It's the today screen that I've been waiting for.
As far as bugs go:
LZX version: Will not display the proper XIP version. I had a problem with the LZX compression and had to use one of Aserg's LZX ROMs as a skeleton on to which to graft the ROM. This worked but introducted this issue. I'm assuming that it's an issue with the cecompr.dll used and that Aserg had hex edited the XIP number unto the imgfs.bin.
All the "full versions" That today screen is not Landscape compatible so you will not see it properly when in landscape mode and in the today screen. Also, the background interferes with the start menu's functionality. I'm working to fix that now, though. Although, it's time for sleep...
Hey guys. Just messing around with a possible full ROM (as supposed to my usual stripped ROMs.) For now, it's based on the Diamond ROM.
It has the following so far:
Arcsoft 4 (I'm having some problems with 5... my MMS stopped working, even though they work with Just2Clean.)
Custom looking HTC Home 2.1 with proxy patch for those who use it on Tmobile's network - This is changing into something else... You'll see it when the author posts it.
Big start menu icons
Big X-Button Icons
black calculator - (My ROM users know I don't ever include calculators. lol)
PocketXpdf
TMPCP
Office 6.1 + OneNote
PHM RegEdit
Advanced Config
Audio Manager
Battery Status - This will be PART of the today screen...)
Esmertec Jbed + OperaMini 4.1 (4.1 was not buggy, the newer Esmertec I was using with it was. This is a stable version.)
HTCAlbum
Internet Sharing
TotalCommander (newest version I believe)
VoiceNotes (something else I tend to remove... I'm not sure if I'll keep it...)
NETCF v3.5
RandomAccess
Oxios Hibernate/CloseApp
This will come in 4 flavors at first.
1. Standard JustMe
2. LZX JustMe - A little slower, but with much more space due to the LZX compression.*
3. A UPX'ed version - Adds a little more speed and storage, but not as much as LZX.
4. A Just2Clean variant with LZX compression. Basically, the 70MB free one.
I MIGHT add a 5th version, a 'la Ttran's biggy if people tell me what they want in it.
*LZX compression is giving me a strange bug that causes the wrong WinCE version to show under the about tab.
The list looks good ivan... only things i wouldn't like would be Total Commander and PHM Regedit, since i use the excellent Resco File explorer which includes both functionalities in 1 app
Btw... speed & Voice dialing would be nice to be included ??
Thanks again for your hard work!

Speed & Voice dialing - Agreed
TotalCommander can also edit the registry, but I prefer using PHM Regedit. Resco is great, I agree, but it's not free, so I can't cook it in. I might make a version like this, though... might.
Your ROM looks very interesting may I suggest adding HTC RandomAccess to your ROM to make it handier browsing through the contacts.
Estimated time of release?
i would use this , i agree with gambit, too... icontact or something for contact browsing would be nice. other than that, it seems to meet all my necessary apps, nothing more, nothing less.

Oh I forgot to mention that was added, too. lol
EDIT: OK... the letter images that appear in the center for randomaccess are broken, so I'm gonna have to fix that, too... Thanks for reminding me, though, or I would have never caught that.
EDIT2:
Estimated time: Whenever I get to it. I'm a perfectionist, and I tend to have too many projects going on at once... plus I rarely have time to mess around with things... and I'm very disorganized... sooooo.... soon. lol
I have a working version that I may be able to fix by tonight... So sooner than I even thought maybe...
Which reminds me... I have to update my signature. Make it J2C, J2S and kitchen and maybe a bigger donate button.

Okay, good to know now I can go to bed and wait for the release
Out on a limb
I know HTC Home is kind of a standard for Today Screen, and I used it for a while.....but, I'm kind of liking the functions of BS. It doesn't take as much power or space and I can configure it with a little HTML.
I started using it shortly after flashing J2C and really like the space. Plus I have more space on the SD for music, since I'm not using HHC now. Just a thought. I sent a screen shot of my modified Aurora theme. I'm running BS with rlToday for the clock, Weather panel, both integrated in BS, and "BS Home" for the bottom buttons.
I also like Network Folders cooked in (runs smoother).
Does TCPMP include plug-ins?
That's my two cents ........
wm5torage
perhaps a program that most people don't use...but it does benefit me personally, since it lets me use the phone as a removable usb drive at work...where I can't install activesync...so that i can transfer files as need be...and occasionally use portableapps, like portable firefox through the removable drive...since the work network won't allow users to install software on the computer.
wm5torage is a fairly small program, so it shouldn't take up too much room...
PIM Backup
for those that might flash every so often, but don't connect to outlook to sync, PIM Backup is a great way to backup contacts, sms', and calendar info...

Actually, I'd be ALL for it if you can provide me with the needed files. I've been looking for something like this, and although I'm good at making things work, I'm not good at making them look pretty. ^_^
Is the weather panel proxy compatible?
If it is, this will be great!
Network Folders?
As far as the plugins, it will. The version I have on it right now is a place holder until I can find a more decent package, though.

I back up everything through an exchange server, so normally I wouldn't use PIM backup... I might add it depending on the size of the program.
@ batterystatus = of course best APP ever...still don´t understand why people use HTC HOME
@ wm5torage great aspp for using device AS USB massstorage on my autoradio with usb-support
@pimbackup...why to include...just put pimbackup.exe on SDcard...and run manually from tim to time...
Just my 2 cents

All I have are the cab files. I've been reading a lot of the post in the Prophet forum for BS themes. prscott1 has quite a few different themes up and knows this a lot better than I do.
I'm sorry I misspoke earlier, I did mean networkplugin; HTC or Schaps. They both seem to work fine. Schaps is just 5K smaller as a cab.
This is where I got most of it. I just use weather panel in place of using UL as a plugin. I really can't take credit for someone else's work. I did a little rewriting of the HTML for the bottom buttons though.
Weather Panel does have an option for proxy settings.
Just what you need....another project.

It's easy, and compared to what you get with a stock ROM it's the next best thing to sliced bread. Battery Status bakes, slices, and toasts the bread.

HTC home is easier to setup and it's buttons are big enough for my fingers... but if you want to help me setup a working HTC clone with batterystatus that does what I need it to do and has big buttons, by all means, tell me.

This is the HTCHome BS theme. It's the same theme I'm running on my previous post just different lines showing. The message buttons are included and can be changed just by tap and hold on them.
I've attached the latest BS and the HTCHome theme, the HTCHopmeskin and the XML file are placed in the BS folder and the HTC Home files are placed in the \windows dir. It basically is editing the XML file to point to the progs you want to use. most of it is set for you. The on thing is the weather tab and the prog tab. I've seen a few setups with UL and as you can see I have it as an option in my setup.
Hope this helps. Keep up the excellent work.

I used that theme for a while, and I really like it. Using BS for themes is a bit easier, assuming you know how to edit the .xml theme. I second using BS instead of HTCHome, more customization.
Looks, maybe I will use it when it is released Still no success with the kitchen and your j2c files
I would trash this:
Custom looking HTC Home 2.1 with proxy patch for those who use it on Tmobile's network
black calculator - (My ROM users know I don't ever include calculators. lol)
PHM RegEdit
Audio Manager
Remote Desktop (I MIGHT remove this one...)
TotalCommander newest version I believe
VoiceNotes (something else I tend to remove... I'm not sure if I'll keep it...)
RandomAccess
ooops...

That's the list so far since I'm at work and can't mess around with it. As you can see it's a semi stripped ROM. No games, but things that I use on a daily basis have been added. All this and you still get 50MB+ of storage free. This is mostly a "I use it, it goes into the ROM" kind of ROM so far, but let me know what you'd like to go into it and you think should be removed and I'll think about making those changes happen. Remember, it depends on whether I also believe it's a useful app or not.

sounds like an incredible ROM! I am more of a BatteryStatus / Mortscript fan than I am of HTC Home, but I do like the touchflo scrolling. I would still enjoy trying your stuffed ROM. there are soo many great BS themes available now - some imitations of WM7, iphone, etc. I have added Ultimate launch recently (mainly for apps launching) so I have a BS/UL combo that is driving my latest themes. I'll post some screen shots when I have a chance (at work now) to see if anyone is interested.
Edit: I'm uploading a few screenshots of my latest (and colorful) BS theme that has UL, todayagenda, searchtoday and RSSNews integrated within.
first, second and third screenshots are the clock page with various rows showing.
fourth, fifth and sixth screenshots show some of my UL sides and cube in action.
I've been in a colorful mood lately.
The only thing I would require out of a BS theme would be the message indicators which I use quite heavily. I know that pappamopps uses them, so maybe he can add them to this BS theme being as nice as he is.
I'm on for this too if you remove remote desktop cuz I think it's useless! I would keep the voice notes though since it's kinda funny sometimtes to record sth with the phone...I'm exactly searching for something like this with the newest build since I have most of the apps in a folder called cabs on my wing Cuz in my opinion everyone needs different progs but this sounds like a good base to build a customized ROM on!

I finaly found it in 4pda.ru forum. After it worked so well I decided to make a package of it and scale down the gfx... then I updated dll's from a newer build... then I got rid of all nonsense in the reg... then I UPXed it... Then I set the registry to install all of the gfx to a separate folder in windows.
So I been busy this weekend.
The cab is on post3 atachments right after the UC folder. makes typing on the screen a breeze

Moved many files out of windows. they install By cabs.
These files would otherwise remain sitting useless in Windows directory.
Will be moving many more eventualy. results are noteworthy:
NEW: Flash Player 7 (not FlashLite) please test to see if it works right.
823kb = 0.8mb moved out of windows +113mb Related to home.
150 files that would otherwise be in windows
191 images related to HTCHome which would otherwise sit uselessly in Windows.
Windows folder loads in less than a second when set to NAME
Issues:
First boot is slow with the customizations. reason being that about 300+ files get copied to places that they need to go.
If the screen wants to go dark during the customization IT WILL TURN WHITE.
DON'T PANIC!!! just press the power button and it will resume.
Takes about as long as the origional 226 ext rom (LONG)
First boot has improved I believe. removed about 100 files out of windows (the so useless bitmaps that are already located in DLL's but reside in windows for no reason)
anyway, if the boot seems slow at first, let it go. once everything is loaded and the ram drops to about 28mb it will work fast and stable.
Today plugins are not enabled by default.
I will provide the blank extended rom ruu for those who may experience battery drainage after flashing any of the manila roms. (mine drained twice as fast) My battery lasted all day at work (12hrs) and only dropped to 93%

instead of making requests to cook programs such as GMaps;
Which gets updated too often
Manila Tabs:
1. Home: clock calendar...
2. People: set up your contacts (may have to press twice the first time)
3. Messages: SMS/MMS
4. Mail: E-mail. double tap the envelope to read/ use softkeys
5. Internet: Launch Opera Mini
6. Photos And Videos: slide pictures up/down launch Album Exe; pick favorite folder to display in today screen
7. Weather: add multiple weather locations/Softkey menu takes you to settings
8. Maps Search: lets you search using Gmaps and saves your favorite places
9. Settings: settings shortcuts.
10. Programs: 24 programable buttons to launch programs (dont think anyone has that many in their wizards )
THIS IS A BETA TEST. SOME THINGS MAY NOT WORK AND i JUST HAVE NOT NOTICED...
with that in mind, I have not made this thing pretty
Compressed a lot of the graphics and executables (Especialy in the manila package)
There is no audio manager
There is no HTC Task Manager... Quickmenu should take care of your task closing and hibernating

Connections:
Beam; Bluetooth, Comm Manager; Connections; CSD Line Type; Domain Enroll; External GPS; FTP Bluetooth; GPRS Setting; Network Plugin; Network Wizard; WIFI; Wireless LAN
Please alow the customizations to finish.
I know they take long; but the first boot is the price You have to pay for an emptier Windows folder.
Also, In beta 2; the HTCHome.xml is loaded via the ManilaGFX.cab. So if you do not alow it to install, MANILA WILL NOT WORK!
I do not recomend installing any cabs that run in windows, or any cabs that you can not uninstall.
I do not recomend (personal opinion) to install audio manager to run in Manila. it eats up 2mb of ram
If you must install a Theme for manila, make sure it comes with it's own HTCHome Settings XML. even though my theme is based off of the standard skin, it is mostly PNG's and thus incompatable with the standard set of graphics without editing the XML.
Please note that when you start programing your contact, weather, and programs tabs, you will have to tap twice. this only happens the first time. (should)

How could I change the yellow/black background of the today screen?
It remains even if I change the today theme ....

Yup! That's something to take out of your next release, as it is no dice, good effort but ugly as sin
looks good...can't wait to try it
Can't run pocket e-sword on this (acutally SQLCE 2.0 installs, but is probably overidden by another version already installed on this ROM... same problem happens in the latest TNT ROM which has a later version of SQLCE installed). I think the culprit is the SQL Server Compact installed (used by Query Analyzer).
Nice otherwise though.
BTW your ROM doesn't have the newer colored Edge Icon and Signal Strength that other 2073 ROMs have
After few softreset the function button in the today screen at the bottom ( calendar, contacts by default) disappeared . The same was with the TNT ROM
Nice man!
IM GLAD TO SEE YOU STILL COOKING!!!! BRIGHTROM WAS A COOL ROM, I CANT WAIT TO REFLASH THIS BASED ON TNT'S, JUST FOR THE HOBBIE YOU KNOW! HAHAHA NICE TO SEE YOU CONTINUE THE NEW BUILDINGS COOK, WE'LL KEEP IN TOUCH FOR POST ISSUES AND FIXES.
I HOPE IT DOESNTSUCKS MY BATT LIKE THE OTHER ONE.
OUPS! WHAT DO YOU MEAN WITH "MUTATION" AND "DLL" DOES WE NEED TO COPÝ DLL'S OR JUST INFO TO WATCH CHANGES ON THIS PROGRAMS... LIKE TOUCHFLO SCROLL?
DOWNLOADING...
Fired up my Wizard for this.... I have one problem, I can't get my today screen to show 12 hour format. I changed it in Regional to h:mm:ss, went into the registry and messed with the nls overrides and put in
nls\overrides" , " S2359" , " PM"
nls\overrides" , " S1159" , " AM"
With my hermes that seemed to work but I cannot get it give me a 12 hour time format
I had to add this in the nls overide
STFmt" , " h:mm:ss tt...as the tt is for am/pm
Themes: download any tsk theme and it should change it. I'm sorry that you did not like the theme. It is only about the 25th revision. I guess I have to work more on it.
Not sure about the sqlce. I will switch it with another next time next time to see if that fixes the problem for you. I dont use it.
I have had quite a bit of soft resets to try out the problem of disappearing softkey buttons. did not have that.
I did have a problem with disappearing shortcuts when I unpluged the device from the computer immediately after flashing/ before I finished setup. that may be the problem. try reflashing and do not disconnect untill you are done with setup/first activesync pairing.
about the colored icons in the top bar: I tried to take appart the reasources for that particular dll to see the contents, and I saw the colored ones included. so it may be just areg setting. I will look into it.
That is all for now.
cant cook for about a week.

looks good im flashing and giving it a try
I installed your ROM this morning, but had to load another one for a few different reasons. Here are my observations.
- Very slow to finalize (install cabs) at first startup. I kept thinking that it was locked up, but it finally finished after about 20-30 minutes.
- I didn't have any problems with soft-resetting when coming out of standby
- Did have problems with audio manager (you stated that already)
- I like the theme (blue)
- Semi Slow, but not that bad. Omapclock would take care of the speed. It was about the same as my original wm5 rom.
- Only 16M file memory left after install! Program memory looks fine.
- No office program: Main reason I can't test it anymore right now. I need word/excel for work.
- I had a hell of a time loading another rom. It kept locking up and would only reset to your rom. I had to manually put it in bootloader to finally load the original tmobile rom.
Overall, great start
I've been trying my hand at cooking a rom, but can't even get close. So good for you to get one up and running Keep it up and I'll try again on another version.
This is one of the Best looking roms I've seen so far.
1. Wifi will not turn off.
2. No Screen/key lock feture
3. No office
4. problems playing videos in WMP or HTC album
5. slow
6. Reset issue as you indicated (went to my power management and stop the device from going into sleep mode for now.)
Despite all the issues, I still don't want to remove the Rom just yet.
Great job cooking up this one.

it really took a while to finish, but it doesnt take me 20-30 mins to finish. most of M2D files are in extended ROM. i'm still having a hard time trimming down the files. M2d alone is a 12mb cab yet i've managed to trim it down to 5-6+mb. as i recall it was divided into 2+mb oem and a cab placed at the extended rom. opera is 4+mb cab file, but when i convert it to oem, it becomes around 8-9mb.

there's no more space left in the ROM. but still this is a work in progress.

first of all thanks for testing the rom and for the feedbacks.
regarding wifi, hmmm i haven't tried it yet but i will look up to it.
no screen/keylock - i didn't pay too much attention on this one. i'll see what i can do about this.
no office since there's no more space left. but im still triming down file size to save more space and probably gain additional speed.
haven't play any videos yet.
looking for some way to gain more speed.
reset issue, i'm doing the same thing as u did.but its weird that after a couple of hours, my wizard is running normally except for touchflo which is still slow.
I really like the look of your today screen. Did you use the Touchflo 2d manilla?? I'd love to put it onto my today screen...I've heard it is still beta and not working well yet.
I'm going to have to wait to test this one out as my usb is acting up again, and I am trying to save it until I can get a repair done. Cosmetically it looks great, probably one of the prettiest roms I've seen. Once you get the bugs out, I look forward to taking it on a test run. I think it has great potential.

thanks... the skin in manila 2d is its default skin. i still haven't modified it though i have plans of changing the clock to digital from analog.
the theme (.tsk) is my WM7 theme. i made it myself.
@overlordjd
I just tried playing a video on wmp and it's working normally.
the skin is nicely done, try reworking the graphics (compress them in Photoshop)...try removing some extra stuff for eg
GSFinder
WM5torage
moBlu
and Games
these all could be replaced by office and still you'll have some space

wow you're quick. hehe...
actually i was planning to remove some apps. it's just at the last time i build it, the office was too large to fit in but so i placed those apps.
about M2D images, im still compressing it. there are too many files to compress. by default the M2D was atound 12mb in cab. then i turned it to OEM still having the same size. then i took all the image file and turn it into a cab then I have around 4-6mb cab. i also removed the avatar from it.
do you have any idea about the reset issue?
thanks
BETA
As a beta I think this is Good ; Tried it and the graphics was awesome ather90 is right you must remove some things for it to become faster
Thanks for the share

i have an updated rom. the problem is im having a hard time loading it. i thought it was the rom, but i also tried to load my previous rom and some rom's poster here, but im still stock at bootscreen.
i cant post the update unless i tested it.
btw ok na fagev.di ko alam kung nacheck mo na
Consider my Wizard your wizard. Allow me the honour of testing for you. This is by far one of the better looking roms I've seen cooked up. I cant wait to go through the changes leading up to the final version.
now this is strange, i already flash tnt rom (19213) and noonski's rom and im still stuck in bootscree. so my updated rom wasn't the problem. i cannot post it unless i test it...
the updated rom now includes MS office and M2D Config.
free some space. probably customization will be faster (though i cannot guarantee since i can't try it) because i deleted 4 cabs which are m2d images, audiomanager, commmanager and opera.
i also compressed some images for m2d and delete some files which is 2mb+
im also figuring if internet tab can all on PIE instead of opera, in thta case, opera is not needed and save some space.
I've been trying this out since the day you put out beta. someone mentioned they needed office to be able to test. the one I downloaded does have office.
here is what i've found.
wifi does not work.
newer sim manager with save to contact function will help.
used to disconnet from activesync when goes into sleep not anymore.
If you could add opera and google maps it would be nice.
haven't found any other problem so far.
HTH
Love this default theme. I will make a try ^^.
FYI
hey mate,
tried to cook a couple of roms by myself. the thing - well, as far i have recognized - with manila 2d is the it has to be in the ROM. every installation after flashing (the ext. rom installation is nothing else) makes it unusable slow.

Hey Hey Dermann...
Looks great m8, and will test_flash to it in the next couple of days...
Like all your threads, you do a great job with full descriptions of 'work_modded' and keep us all very informed! It is a lot of work that I'm sure is much appreciated!
Being your 1st_Beta 6.5 ROM for the i617, it sure looks nice and the more constructive feedback that you (hopefully) will receive, the better (within reason)...lol
Also being on AT&T, it is nice not have to fool around with the various data, MMS settings, and like 'your tweaked i607 GUI'...easy on the eyes...!

This is really great !, I was using the 6.5 from py8 and I wasnt able to use GPS, so I went back to AT&T 6.1 but is a pain in the ass to config GPRS settings, unlock other options and the tons of bloatware.
I will download right now, I will feedback the ROM in a few Days.
Thanks for this realease !

i have not. changing the builds is my achilles heel when i comes to making roms.
i have tried a number of times and each time i get a unsuccessful boot. but i haven't given up yet.
Still out of town, or I would have flashed to this promising 6.5 ROM a couple days ago...Need my ole BJII i617 presently without any 'possible issues'...lol
Dermann, hope that you do not mind, but I would like to get this thread, 'jump started' and posting about your hard work_efforts and a couple of other Mobile sites:
Hello,
I do not mean to distract from this great site, but my friend Dermann (We both go back to the olde TxCaesar BJI i607 site) has received files from py8 for his Chinese/Eng i617 BJII 6.5 ROM, and has started a thread @ Xda-Developers...
We need to give him some good feedback as he has put a lot of work into this somewhat dated device, to make a stable 6.5 ROM for this still popular device, so please head on-over-there for further discusssion, bug reports, feedback...

Good deal man, as I am back to my laptop (today-Sunday) and will flash and report back on your thread!
btw: Were you able to solve the darn time bug that had always been present in py8 ROM?? lol, this always killed moi!
Also, I know that you modded a 320 x 240.cpr file for moi so that I could utilize 1.2 NRG weather app so your great 6.5 theme that works well with my present 6.1 MR- ROM..., will any of NRG weather apps work with WM 6.5...have been sort of-out-of-touch-recently will following various mobile tweaks, apps...lol
Ok, thoroughly reviewed this thread again...NRG Mini Weather 1.2--->and see posts here:

Not sure if it will work--->NRG Weather 1.2---->with your modded 320 x 240 .cpr file that worked with Samsung MR 6.1 ROM, and your 6.5 theme...lol ??
And just found this, as I would rather be outside enjoying much CA sunshine, and enjoying Bahama Mamas!!!!!
Fill a Collins glass with crushed ice. Combine the following in a shaker with ice. 1/2 oz. Light Rum 1/2 oz. Light Rum 1/2 oz. Dark Rum 1/2 oz. Coconut.

i believe i've fixed it. it auto updates for me.
i was about to upload the next rom when i noticed a bug. the camera key on the keyboard doesn't bring up the camera, instead it trys to open a camera.lnk from somewhere else. will fix that then upload.
thanks for the mixed drink recipe. will try it tomorrow,
the nrg weather will work on here, but it will take some modding. the py8 weather should work, though i haven't tried it myself.

Very Good and take your time, and most importanly have fun...I had a couple earlier today 10:00 am-hair_of_The_Dog when I first posted....they kicked in real fast! So here is the correct recipe...lol
Ingredients 1/2 fluid ounce rum
1/2 fluid ounce coconut-flavored rum
1/2 fluid ounce grenadine syrup
1 fluid ounce orange juice
1 fluid ounce pineapple juice
1 cup crushed ice
Directions1. Combine regular rum, rum with coconut flavoring, grenadine, orange juice, pineapple juice and crushed ice in an electric blender. Blend until the drink's consistency is slushy.
The above was a recipe that I got 'hooked on' when cruising...lol I like to also combine 1/2 ounce dark rum....a slight touch or so of 151 proof rum....lol, then the other ingredients....
Did not see the camera key bug.....good catch there! As I really hope that we have a following on this thread to revive life back into this device, like the original Ejoya 6.1 ROM did for the BJ I i607...!
I will also report back regarding the various weather apps, and how they 'line up properly' within the 6.5 panels....probably on Monday afternoon...
recipes copy n pasted.
got the camera key bug fixed. had to hex the keypad S000, it was my first time hexing too. i'm so surprised and happy that it worked.
good deal, will wait for your weather feedback.
...should i add one in, or make a cab for others to add themselves...
for those that want to stay with py8's rom, but don't know how to change the internet and cv keyboard keys. here you go.
in you windows folder, look for these:
py8_go_i.lnk
py8_go_m.lnk
copy to your computer and edit them with some sort of text editor. *i use Notepad* and copy back to your phone.

Yes indeed as I recall my first experience with utilizing a hex editor when I was into completely modding my ole XP laptop with the 'aqua emulation' look... I think that I used this German one...freeware and good!
http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm---->not sure how/if it works on Vista/Win7...?
I have a meeting this morning as my gf is using my i617--->she is trying to sell a home, and needs its unlimited data plan...lol!
If you can upload a weather.cab that will work with this 6.5 ROM...I would appreciate, as this would save me time, as in 'not getting slack from her' as why my device is not operating properly....why do you need to format it again..bla, bla.....lol
No biggie if not as I will have time this afternoon (test weather apps), and will make sure that we are both full of above mentioned 'libations'...!!!
I like the light-weightness of NRG 1.2 mini weather....but am use to having it on your great 6.5 theme for my present setup---->in my sig...
Here is the modded 320 x 240.cpr file that you were kind enough to build for me to work with 6.5 theme and NRG 1.2 weather:
Apologies for the double-ish post here gang, however Dermann have been following your Twitter Tweets, and will patiently await for 'completed work' as you are working on both your i607 and i617 ROMS...at the same time!
Kind-of-off-topic (however this tech related), I have been having a blast finally being able to D/L and install updated Nvidia GPU drivers for this 2 yr old laptop, as the OEM has GPU drivers dated @2007!
Hell my card is integrated, and I do not 'game' at all, but am curious to see how these newer_Beta Nvidia GPU perform for my two browsers...FF 4.0b6, and IE 9---->both have hardware acceleration enabled...lol
Just having fun....!
I've been using your Oct 4 build without any big problems for a week now, so good work!
notes: might be good to ship with NoData and add a BandSel link to Programs, and if you managed to merge in the latest Windows Live from 6.5 phones that would be impressive. Google's winmo app is broken, but that's apparently their fault.
Also, why remove java? Still useful for native gmail, unfortunately.
