Finger Keyboard - General Questions and Answers

I have a Samsung Omnia i910 & I recently installed Finger Keyboard 2.1. I heard that there is a program called IMEmulator that can be used to set this as the default keyboard. Does anyone know where I can get it? I tried SIPchanger & it work but it caused numerous errors on my phone. I heard that IMEmulator works better on the Samsung.
Thanks
Myste

look for SIP Tweak and try it.
note that some other keyboard put a shortcut in the startup folder to make their keyboard as default. if so, remove their shortcuts.

I think thats what you are looking for, I use it myself and it works flawlessly:
(The program is called IMSelector btw.)

Recommmed a task switcher

Anyone tried, tested and recommend a better task switcher for the TC. One that doesn't require a 3 year old's tiny fingers to operate! Ideally I'm looking for one that can be used with normal man-sized fingers, a hard key and one that incorportates a key lock prog
Thanks
I use the app AltTab.exe
I have assigned it to the 'record' butten. Works really nice
Can you point me to the correct/latest version of this? It seems there are many variants and name-sakes floating around. Thanks
OK sorted. Got the zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357227&page=2
Makes you realise how slow the TC is. I think I had the same program on my P3600 Trinity (inbuilt in a cooked ROM) and don't remember it being so slow?

Keyboard to big

when i'm chattin' or when i type in a msg it seems that the keyboard takes to much space, i think that 65% of the display is taken by the keyboard, i want a smaller one !!!
help ? i have searched for keyboards but i only found bigger ones
thanks !
Try to install something else.
On all my HTC phones, including MEGA, I use "Resco Keyboard". Works fine for me.
i tryed PDAMedia Keyboard, and now i will try Resco to.
thanks!
better view on your screen
i whish the built in the block recognizer but unfortunlally the did not. If you know a wa to install it, it would give you a clear view on your screen since its not so big. By the way if you find a method to install that let me know. thanx
Is native keyboard available?
Hi,..
Just bought Touch 2...i feel HTC default keyboard is big (but its really nice for few apps i use!)
Is there anyway that we install the windows mobile default keyboard? or any registry tweaks to make the default keyboard appear on the options list?
try fingerkeyboard, its a bit smaller, i like the big chunky ones personally.
Try PCM key board...worked great for me on WM 6.1. Not sure how it goes with WM 6.5.
Included a few nice skins aswell, try which ones you like. Extract and put these in skin folder. You can choose various key board configurations and combine with skins.
Definitely smaller ones available.

Program Launcher...

Hello everybody.
I own a Touch Diamond 2 (WM 6.5 stock ROM).
I am looking for an application launcher that looks and behaves like the program tab.
As far as I know it is not possible to add an additonal program tab to the HTC Sense (Manila 2.1).
I found somewhere a trick saying it is possible to add buttons to the program launcher, adding additonal keys in the registry to the standard 24.
Actually, you can create the buttons, unfortunately they do not work...
Am I missing something?
Thank you very much for your suggestions and help.

Try this http://www.panoramicsoft.com/mobileapps/launchpad/LaunchPad.php
It is not freeware...but it is very good. I use it an it is very quick.

missing stock onscreen keyboard

Happy New Year guys!
My buddy has a tp2 from uscellular and I'm trying to hook him up with morphgear. I can't get the keymappings to work I just get the 229 code. I know how to map the keys by using the virtual keyboard but I'm supposed to switch to the windows mobile standard keyboard and the problem is that isn't an option. I have only the HTC keyboards listed. Anybody able to shed some light on this? Can I add the winmo keyboard through a cab or is there a setting that is hiding it from the list? Thanks in advance!

Is it the stock ROM or a cooked ROM? Some cooked ROMs don't have that stock WM keyboard.
Try going to Start > Settings > Personal > Input. Look for Keyboard in the drop-down. That's supposed to be the WM keyboard.
Sorry if that didn't help (I doubt it helped).
Happy new year!
Thanks for the reply although it did not really help but that's ok. The stock keyboard s not listed in the settings menu either. It should be a stock ROM because it hasn't been changed since it was brought home from the retail store but I wouldn't put it past USCellular to have a custom build. Does anyone have the stock keyboard pulled from the CDMA TP2?
As far as my limited knowledge allows me to understand, if its not already in the rom then it has to be cooked in with a custom rom. I have looked everywhere for a cab and the responses I got from much more experienced people is that you can only cook it in. There is no reg entry to mod or cab to install. Try spb keyboard as an alternative. Its a bit bigger than the stock one (cuz its meant to be finger friendly) but it has all the features that the stock one has. I would post the cab I have for it but Im not sure Im allowed to.

ok, sounds good I will try spb keyboard and hopefully it will let me map the hardware keys in morphgear. Can anybody on USCellular confirm the omission of the wm stock keyboard?

Autorotate

hey,
I have a Touch Pro, and I tried some ROM's but it seems that the autorotate function never works. I can't find it in the settings. Is there a tool to fix this or what do you recommend to do.
Somebody knows a ROM that doesn't have this problem.

Check my signature for my preferred ROM of choice.
NOTE ::
If you have tried ROMs that include Flip-It or BSB G-Config, and you want the rotation, do not, I repeat, DO NOT clean your Invalid Registry Values or Invalid Registry Keys with ClearTemp, SKTools, or Pocket Mechanic. I can verify that all of these "cleaner" apps will, by default, delete the Rotation Registry String... unless you manually Ignore the Rotation Keys.
I prefer Auto-Rotation to be off, beings that I usually have my Fuze in a Belt Pouch [Landscape Orientation]. Slide-Out rotation ftw!

I keep it off because with it on, the camera does not correctly rotate photos once they are taken.
I've included the SensorSDK 4.2 from the Rhodium S2 ROM in my newest ROM, but I replaced the HTCSensorService.dll with the 3.3 from the Touch Pro. Result? Nothing will rotate but Album (which I removed from the whitelist) because it handles its own rotation. GSensor calibrator works. Do I need a 3rd party program or what to get autorotation working in all programs with the Raph?
