[Problem] Rooted ROM: no Wifi, no Bluetooth, no g-sensor [Solved] - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Sorry if this is a N00B-Question:
I rooted my fresh Andoid with the follwowing ROMs:
JF 1.51 ADP
JF 1.51 EU
Cyanogen 3.9.7 Exp
and i am running into the exact same Problem all the time:
Both, Bluetooth and Wifi will not activate if I try, and the Screen Orientation Sensor is also not operating.
Sorry for not providing a log, but i needed to reflash Cyanogen 3.9.6 to Post this. 3.9.6 is working as intendet, with the mentioned Maps Bug which is solved in 3.9.7... Yes I wiped all the time, did not Help.
I hope this Bug is known to someone, since I did nothing but flashing some ROMs.
I have a pretty Standard Vodafone Magic CRB43 from Germany (since I am german...) SPL was as expected, i used the crios SPL update.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538633
This version of Cyanogen's 3.9.7 works fine on my Vodafone Magic, also from Germany. Try and see if it works, remember to wipe.
If g-sensor still does not work, remove /data/misc/akmd* /data/misc/rild* in recovery mode.

Thank you!
That is the very Thread i got my 3.9.6 from, but i overlooked the word "port" in the Thread-Title and thought it was the original^^
The new 3.9.7 is working perfectly even without any wipes...
As I expected: How very noobig of me
Solved and can be closed

I just got my phone back from a service, flashed it with CyanogenMod, and I'm noticing a similar issue with the sensors. Is the above instruction to delete those /data/misc/{akmd*,rild*} files the only way to trigger an auto-calibration? What other ways can the sensors be corrected?

Fuze freezes after soft reset - couple days after flash?

My fuze is freezing after a soft reset, and the only solution I have found is to hard reset.
I recently flashed hard-spl and my first cooked ROM. A few days later this happened. It freezes just after the animation sequence. I hard reset the phone, set it all up again, couple days later - frozen again. Tried a different ROM, loaded fine, set it all up, couple days later - frozen. Tried a 3rd ROM, same thing.
I was running the stock at&t fuze ROM up until this with no issues. I have tried 2 different versions of the Energy ROM 2.0 and once with Shep's 6.5 ROM.
I'm getting pretty sick of setting this thing up. Any ideas, maybe a bad hard-spl flash?
I had the same problem before, i fixed it with flashing back stock rom, reflash hard-spl and trying a diffrent build of my favorite rom, and to be honest i have no idea what fixed it.
Ok thanks for the reply. I am going to try a reflash of the hard spl, and a new ROM. Something makes me think the hard spl is the problem, but a new ROM can't hurt at this point. I will post my results...... in a few days. Thanks again!
Having almost the same problem. Where exactly was it stopping?
I get the first splash-screen, afterward in the lower right corner the 3 red version numbers appear and nothing happens, i dont get to the second (animated) splashscreen, nor to the windows mobile one.
More info:
Stock Rom
--> flashed HardSPL
--> flashed PdaViet V11
--> months later V15
--> weeks later WM 6.5 Testrom, disappointed --> flashed ProvenRom 3.3
--> trouble began approx. 3 days later
--> reflashed ProvenRom 3.3
--> trouble started again, then i did a hard reset for the first time
i will try reflashing stock rom, then hardspl, than custom rom and report in a couple of days
same thing happened to my htc touch pro. i havent fixed it yet
Happened again. I had reflashed the hard-spl and then a new version of the energyROM. It froze up later that night. Iam getting the first splash, with the red numbers, romversion etc., then the animation plays, the it freezes at the end of it. I guess I will try to flash back to stock ROM and see what happens. Until someone has a fix, I guess it'll be trial and error. I'll keep you posted.
And again, twice.
I thought everything was fine, workin good for a couple of days, then it froze again. Any thoughts or further suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Seems like it happens while I am setting things up, phone starts to get laggy after a soft reset, after adding a cab that requires a soft reset. Then it freezes on the next reset.
Software Version
I think we should narrow this down by comparing the software versions.
I'll start:
Radio: 1.14.25.05
Rom: Proven 3.2, 5.07.831.17 build 5.2.21042.1.6.1
HardSPL by Olinex
now you go!
addition:
i also remember, this happened after a cab-install. Do you remember WHAT you actually tried to install? I think for me it was HomeScreenPlusPlus UI. Afterwards it was always Opera that stopped responding and i had to soft-reset --> total failure
I had the exact same problem...you can see it in the DaG 6.5 Kitchen thread. I tried flashing to a known custom Rom that I know worked and it still had the same issue. I fixed it with the advice of someone there, the same advice that's here. Flash a stock rom, hard reset....then flash a custom rom. I don't know why that fixed it but it did.
Hmmm, maybe this will work. I had tried that and it did seem to work. However, after a few days I got sick of the 6.5 and flashed back to the energyROM. So I will give this fix another shot.
In regards to the previous post here's what I am running:
radio: 1.12.25.19
Rom: EnergyROM 2.0 build 41609
Hard SPL - SPL-1.90.by Olinex
Its almost becoming funny now. I did a soft reset so I could see the radio version and guess what - it froze again.
It seems like if I don't set everything up, it will last a few days, but sooner or later I get fed up with not having progs installed etc. and after I set it up - poof!
So here is a list of cabs and general things i do to setup the phone.
Hard reset - reset at screen setup - ROM intitial setup - device reboots itself-
-PPCPIMBackup (installed on ROM, just restore contacts)
-ChangeScreen or Gyrator / have tried both individually, not at the same time
-DredSensor
-KforTouchPro
-HTCWeathermaster Rhodium
-Gscroll 2.0 (beta)
maybe something else I haven't installed every time
of course, set owner name, setup e-mail, the rhodium world clock bug setup, general tf3d setup (contacts, weather, tabs etc.)
Add shortcuts from my sd card for previously installed progs.
I'm not sure that any of these are the issue. I have done this at least ten times. Each time I have noticed which was the last cab installed then freeze, I try not to install that cab, then it will still freeze, eventually.
I am going to reflash the stock ROM and stock SPL, then hard SPL and a ROM flash. I'll be sure to post my results.
i tried latest mystic 6.5 rom lite beta 1.1 and it froze within a day at the second splash screen and after about 1-2 min the screen turned white. I have tried the battery removing trick, but same results. I'm not sure what apps i have installed after hard reset...
i tried latest romeos rom 6.1 randium edition: it got frozen after some time...
same with both NRGZ roms: 1 and 2 version (standard raphael manila and rhodium manila).
Now i'm using romeos wm6.5 rom 2.101... will post if it freezes...
i havent tried this: "reflash the stock ROM and stock SPL, then hard SPL and a ROM flash" yet...

I had no luck with this solution, and it is not exactly what was described.
Actually the solution posted is to just flash stock rom, hard reset, then flash custom rom.
I tried the above solution and it still froze, now I am going to try the correct solution posted and see what happens.
Frozen again... I am going to flash back to stock rom, stock spl, see if it still freezes.
This works (for me)
Running fine for a week:
- Flashed stock ROM (O2 German). This replaces the radio and the OS
- Went back to stock SPL. THIS IS TRICKY, SO READ(!):
+ Olinex HardSPL will NOT let you flash back to your StockSPL, because it is write-protected. This kept me up quite some time.
+ Flash your Stock ROM
+ Then, flash the hacked 195 SPL mentioned HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502720
+ then, flash your Stock SPL. Read the Threads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150
+ Make sure, your SPL is neither Olinex, nor the hacked 195 in the third picture
+ I flashed the Stock ROM again just to be sure the stock SPL runs and allows your stock ROM to run.
- Flashed HardSPL
- Flashed Energy ROM 2.0 WITHOUT Manila, flashed latest Radio, installed cabbed Rilphone.dll
Installed Resco, Resco Today, MortPlayer - this is the SAME setup that got me caught the last time and now runs fine for a week.
This works for me. I presume some ppl get the stock SPL flashing wrong.
As i can read from other roms, it happens ONLY to Roms with the new rhodium manila,
so maybe, if you're tired of reflashing and hard reset, try one without the new manila interface.
Another suggestion: I have a different Opera now. Many describe they tried to start Opera, THEN it hangs and the phone gets stuck on bootscreen. I have 9.5 Build 15613 now and this one runs fine.
I encourage you to try energy ROM 2.0 without Manila. There seems to be a battery issue and someone uploaded a version with better battery life, you may try this, but i don't find the post anymore and this may have rhodium manila included. Energy ROM 3.0 is out now netherless, maybe someone can follow my instructions and try this with 3.0.
Hope i could help, this was bugging me SO LONG
Wow, thanks!
I have been running the stock at&t rom since my last post with no freezing. I will try this step for step, and I will try energyrom 3.0 just to let you know.
Wish me luck!
Well, I was able to get the stock SPL back, just as you described. Thanks again for the info.
However, I flashed EnergyROM3.0 and it froze after a few hours. Of course that rom has the rhodium manila cooked in, so I am going to try again with another rom. I will report back later.
from my last post i have been using romeos wm6.5 v2.101 with no freezing.. it has NO manila cooked in.
I think, maybe it has something to do with manila :-?
Same problems here as described. Using:
1.14.25.05 Radio
EnergyROM 3.0 WM6.5 50409a version
Started after flashing the WM6.5, reproduced easily after 1-2 hr of ROM on phone, it freezes (either by installing something, or Manila general use) then stays on information screen of versions.
Going to try stock ROM + reflash SPL then flash EnergyROM 3.0 again. If that wont work, i go back to 2.0 which worked well.
OK guys I am going to report this issue has been fixed (though not solved) for me.
I flashed ROMeOS wm6.5 v2101 and am also running the version of opera previously posted. I have been running for almost a week with no freezing, and (knock on wood) do not expect it to.
I am very happy with this rom and don't plan on flashing again for a while. However, if I do I will report any success/failure. I am curious to know if the problem is just certain roms, or something specific in them. If anyone else having these issues would care to post their results with other roms, it would be appreciated for the sake of the community.
I also wanted to note that I flashed the RRE wm6.5 non-manila version just before this and it did freeze on me. So it may not be related to the rhodium manila.
Anyways thanks again to all who posted and helped with this. I can't tell you how happy I am to have stable phone again!
Good luck and happy flashing!
same thing happened to my htc touch pro. i havent fixed it yet

Camera/Camcorder Issue CyanogenMod 4.0.4

Hello,
First post on this forum, took a lot of info from it, but I can't figure this one out by myself.
I have an issue with my camera. When I click on the camera icon, my screen blurs the same way as when you go to landscape mode, I get the B&W image of the camera icon, and the I get the message saying:
Sorry!
The application Camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
~Force close
The same happens for the camcorder. I have tried both soft and hard resets, with and without sd card, booted with and without sd card.
I have a Rogers HTC Magic, so it's a 32A version. I'm running CyanogenMod 4.0.4 with CyanogenMod 1.4 RecoveryImage. I rooted my phone using FlashRec 1.1.2 (http://zenthought.org/content/project/flashrec). Ported 4.0.4 using bcrook's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544854), using the version based on 4.1.11.1.
I have done no 'crazy' things except for these. When I still had the stock Rogers ROM on there, I had no issues at all. This was less then 24 hours ago. I have installed a couple of apps from the market, but nothing intense.
I started having the issue with my camera the moment I started using the new ROM. However, even after re-flashing it (twice), the issue remains. I have pushed the 'Camera.apk' from the CyanogenMod 4.0.4 to my sd card and installed it, no luck.
As is clear, the issue is with the camera application. I can't use BarcodeScanner, since it relies on the camera as well. Same message shows up.
Is there any parent process/application that I can reinstall to make this work? I've redownloaded and reflashed 4.0.4 and the port based on 4.1.11.1, no luck.
FASTBOOK info

update your rom. Cyan has 4.1.11.1 now..
I was planning on using a stable release only, but I'll try 4.1.11.1 tomorrow! Hopefully it will fix something!
Flashing to 4.1.11.1 and applying bcrook's kernel patch fixed the issue for me. Thanks! Mods can close the thread now to prevent hijacking.
your issue was the kernel.
4.0.4 is a cupcake build. and the 4.1.11.1 kernel is a donut build.
so i guess that was the problem.

[32A] Suggestions

Hi,
I have an HTC Magic 32A and lately i've decided to flash it with cyanogenmod v4.2.15.1 everything went well except for when the OS boots, applications start to crash, phone reboots so I tried to re-flash but same exact problems happen...
Is there a ROM available that is stable and up to date??
Also, Could you please point me to some guides?
Thanks,
N4rc071x.
I find CM crazy stable... strange how you encounter those problems.
same here..no issues on my CM. try running fix permission.
I re-flashed with Magic GyD and everything is working fine now... phew!
Is it possible to flash a recovery/engineerings SPL ROM with HBOOT-1.33.0009?
Are there any tutorials I can follow?
Are you using the fender (headphone jack) or just the normal one? If you're using the normal one, find the cursorsense 1.2.6.1 rom and he gives you details on how to flash an enginerring spl. PLEASE Don't flash the Hero SPL/Radio. You wanna use the 1.33.0010 and the radio that goes with it. (NOT THE 6.35)
Are there any problems with radio 6.35?
So basically when flashing, you need to take care of matching the SPL/Radio versions right?
Are there any android 2.x (possibly with flash support) that don't require 6.35??
Since you're looking for a stable rom, I would suggest not going to 2.x It's ok to use but there may be lots of problems. I tried it and went back to 1.6 right away. Some people like it though so it doesn't hurt to try.
And there are no problems with the radio 6.35 and yes you have to match spl/radio. You may not brick if you don't match (it'd cause problems though) but I wouldn't wanna give it a try lol
Thanks a lot for your help mate

Pola100: No calls or camera with Android

Hi.
I have a Pola100 and I have tried both the VaniljEclair and the Incubus Froyo builds, with the latest DZO kernel.
The problem is that I cannot make calls, the phone registers the incoming or outgoing call, but there is no sound. Also I have not gotten the camera to work on either of the builds. I've searched around the forum but have not found a solution.
Is this fixable? I can live without the camera, but making calls is kind of usefull
Otherwise Android looks great on my phone, no problem with Wifi, market and it is rather fast.
Thanks in advance.
You don't explain if you are using haret or nand install, which is clearly your version of kernel and rom and if you have put any update. Please add some further information
Sorry, still quite new at this.
I'm using NAND install, did a "task 29" previous to my last flash. Right now I'm using the DZO from 01-07-10 and the Incubus FROYO RLS4.
Tried with the VaniljEclair RLS7b on the same DZO, but with the same result. I have not applied any updates to my current install.
Lacking ability to call and camera with both setups.
Hope this helps
Ok, which is your radio version?
If I have understood correctly the radio version is displayed in the bootloader menu.
I used a Harspl guide I found here on the forum and now it reads
SPL-2.20.OliNex
CPLD-2
Sorry for being a noob
I've got the same problem on a pola 100.
I'm running on nand (just removed WinMo yesterday evening, now I regret ...).
I use incubus26jc rls5 froyo.
I tried the two latest eclair.nbh (modified with the nebh editor to make it to panel 1).
Also, I tried radio version 1.58.21.23 , 1.58.26.20 , 1.64.08.21 .
Just like jolok I have spl-2.20.Olinex and CPLD-2.
My issue is that the sound work befor the 1rst call after rebooting my phone, and a few second after the 1rst call is made (in or out call), se sound stop (or even crash and loops), and then, no more sound on the phone after ending the call.
Also, the camera has a messed up screen, no idea why.
How do you other guys make it work correctly everytime ???
Try to update to the latest froyo version, many issue were fixed
Like I said, I already have incubus26jc rls5 froyo, the latest one ... or is there elsewere an other source for me ?
Just tested, same with incubus26jc eclair ... seams it comes from the radio or the nbh. What should I use ?
Ok, I tried the whole process over again, to see if that would help, but no.
First I did a "task_29", to clear the nand, then I flashed the 02-07-10 DZO .nbh (I edited it to panel 1 with the nbh tool).
Then I flashed the radio rom, I started with Polaris Radio 1.58.21.23 (and worked my way trough all of them)
Finally I installed the Incubus/DZO Froyo 2.2 RLS5.
I have tried alle the radio roms found in the Polaris radio thread;
Polaris Radio 1.58.21.23
Polaris Radio 1.58.25.14
Polaris Radio 1.58.26.20
Polaris Radio 1.64.06.04
Polaris Radio 1.64.08.21
I cannot get the camera to work, it only displays a purple/green/black striped screen and I cannot make calls. The phone registers calls going out and coming in, but there is no sound.
Can anyone help, or explain what I'm doing wrong?
I very new to this and I don't understand how the rest of you get your setups to work
Hey !
I just managed to get my phone work again, with calls and camera !
I found a "old" radio : version 1.59.46.12 .
It is the one I had with WinMo, I think my error was to update it ...
Currently, It works with eclair, but I think it will also work with froyo, testing soon.
I upload the file in attachment.
It works well on incubus26jc froyo rls5 !
I can now again use calls, camera, install apps !
I don't know why only this radio is working on my phone ...
I remember it was the radio I had for a while, it was flashed when I hard-spled my polaris, and I flashed it for 1.64.08.21 when installing froyo, but seams it was a mistake.
Hope it will help you !
Does anybody now why I can only use this radio version ? Does it have a link with the spl version ? (2.20 olinex)
This is great! Tank you very much ReMix3D
The radio fle worked lke a cham for me as well, I can now make calls and even the camera is working.
Calls and camera working in VaniljEclair RL7c
The camera also works in Froyo RLS6, id not test calls, sticking with the Eclair build, seems to gor faster and smoother on my phone.
Thank you so much for the help
I had exacly the same problem. This radio version fixed it.
Thanks a lot!
That is the same Radio version (Polaris_Radio_ROM_1.59.46.12.rar) that pcarvalho recommends in his WinMo 6.5 rom page.
As I was using his rom and thus that radio prior to Android, I guess I just got lucky that this worked so well with Android.

great thanks!))
I'm happy that it helped you all !
Are there any other android on polaris users that have this issue with the radio ?
Maybe it's only for us, users of a POLA100.
I don't pretend to understand everything about it, but should not a newer radio make the calls/camera/data/gps/wifi more efficient ?
Are the chips so different between POLA100 and others ?

I sugget:
1. install radio 1.59.46.12
2. hard reset
3. install radio 1.65.38.14
4. hard reset
Everything works fine. Last update greatly improves battery life.
I'm using 1.65.38.14 + Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS10 + haret now.
BUT phone call still dosent work sometimes. Sometimes cant make outgoing call, and cant hung up, and no response when incoming call comes. Have to reset.
Camera works fine.
Before 1.65.38.14 I used to use 1.59.46.12, works fine on wm65, but still the same problem on Android.
Maybe I'm just unlucky.

Pola 100 stuck in obtaining IP adres

I installed Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS12 All Lang Themed on my POLA100
When connecting to my wifi is says: Obtaining IP adres from wifi, then it stops and then my connection is disabled.
Am I the only one with this problem?
same here, you are not alone
can anyone help us pls?
Same here no IP assigned...no wifi
two simple question:
how do you "install" it?
which radio version do you have?
Same thing happened to me using radio 1.59.44.02 so I flashed radio 1.65.38.14 and voila. GPS works fine as well.
Regards,
Gunner22
I've got the same problem on my Pola200 (XDA Orbit 2), radio 1.59.42.15d3 (original from O2) with the Froyo installations:
- Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS12 All Lang Themed
- VaniljFroyo RLS2
I installed them from SD card with haret.
I also tried VaniljEclair RLS8b: with Eclair it works. But I prefer Froyo because of better performance and design.
I have RLS12 with radio 1.65.38.14 installed on NAND and I am having this problem. (I have also tried one of the 1.59 series radios and it did the same)
I had RLS11 running on SD and wifi was working.
Try to reflash system on nand, sometimes doesn't work correctly and after update radio i suggest to reinstall system.
1.) Reflashed polaimg-panel3-320-froyo-26-07-10.nbh
2.) Reinstalled Incubus26jc's Super Froyo (RLS12)
3.) Tried wifi again... still broken
4.) Restarted then did a reinstall and wipe of data...
5.) Wifi now works!
Thanks!!
Hi!
I have the same problem. I flashed my Pola 100 with the
Polaimg-panel3-320-froyo-26-07-10.nbh and Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo 2.2 RLS12
It's just saying "obtaining IP address".
Then I thought "a radio update couldn't be bad...". So I updated it to Polaris_Radio_1.64.08.21. It still didn't work. Then I read l1qu1d's post:
"Try to reflash system on nand, sometimes doesn't work correctly and after update radio i suggest to reinstall system."
...and reflashed my Pola 100. It still didn't work, so I looked for the newest radio update and updated my phone to Polaris_1.65.38.14.
You'll know the result: Still "obtaining".
I just have no idea anymore. Please help me!
EDIT (2. August): Now I tried Polaris_Radio_1.65.30.09 - still not working - and assigning a static IP to my Pola100 - also not working.
P.S.: Just a question. What's the matter with the PIN code? I know, that I have to deactivate it. But why doesn't it work with our android flashed phones?
@skaterbub2003 reinstall the system. PIN doesn't work because none wrote the kernel part to make it works, there are other priorities.
Well, so let's try it again.
Oh, and thank you for answering my PIN-question. Didn't mean to criticise the work of the coders. I just was curious.
Hi.
My pola100 is stuck on obtaining ip address too.
First, I've installed android on nand, wireless didn't work, so i flashed new radio and wireless still not working.
Finaly i reinstalled android on nand again and stil not working
My rom is Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS12
My radio is Polaris_1.65.38.14
Can anyone help??
(sorry for my english)
As suggested from l1qu1d, I reinstalled the system again (twice). Both times, the problem with "obtaining the IP-Address" remained.
Well, has somebody an idea?
ROM: Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS12 (26/7/2010)
RADIO: Polaris_1.65.38.14
I have the same problem.
RLS11 on NAND: work fine.
RLS12 on NAND: don't work.
any solution?
Ok, i fix that.
The solutions is don't use "install-seq.sh"

Hehe, no problem, and sorry for my bad english, I'm spanish
I think the problem is in permission, i fix it when i came back to italy.
Hi Guys,
my first post here and hopefully not the last
Got the same problem on my pola200, using the super froyo rls12 with 1.59.46.12 radio.
the other radios i tested didnt let me phone, and i think a phone should be supposed to phone primaly ;-)
Im using the haret boot variant as long it doesnt work right.
As i read u solved the problem, but i dont get a clue out of your hints. What should i use instead of install-seq.sh? Cause if i remove it and try to install the system it just hangs resulting in a scary kernel panic...
Update: Ok, got it now. The phone did boot up so fast that i did had no chance to start the installer, i need to hold the required buttons before the message to push the buttons appears
lets see if it works now
Update 2:Yes, it works! As you thought l1q1d, the problem lies down somewhere in the permissions. Using the "Fix Permission" tool from the Android setup tool did fix the Problem.
