I know PhoneAlarm offers the option to disable alarms during calls... it either stops them till u hangup or provides a small tone during your conversation ... instead of playing the tone right in your ear....
I didn't want to install another application just for that one feature... is it possible to perform the above with a registry hack?
HTC touch pro (sprint)
nothing?
no hacks for this?
Someone keeps annoying me...with their repeated calls...
I wonder if there's any call management software (?) that can block certain numbers - forward those call to voice mail or turn my phone into -"unavailable" status as if the phone were off!
Please help!!!
Thanks

Try MagicCall. It blocks known numbers, beside of a lot of other stuff.
But its not free
!
You could try CallFirewall http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307178 which I've used quite a lot on my Athena to block withheld numbers when its cooked into ROMs. Hoping it works for my new Topaz!
Call Firewall works in Diamond2. Unfortunately, the phone still rings once before it stops unwanted call. There is no option such as pick up and hang up. The startup screen may not hiden in some senario, until I tap minimize in the menu. I return back to Call SMS Blocker even it is not quite finger friendliness and not easy to view the call log in TF3D.
Question how it works
Plz tell how these apps work:
The calling side hears like my phone is not available or he hears couple of rings and then like i hang up on purpose?
Check it out here
Try Photo Contacts Pro 5.11 but again, it's not free.
I have tried several and all let the phone ring before identifying and blocking the caller, has no one found a hook to get in before the ringing starts and hold of a ring until the caller is identified?
Thanks
Have you tryed Magicall?

Nope will contact them next. I have tried all the free apps out there and even registred one that I didnt find a demo for until its too late. All of the let the phone right for about 5 seconds, not exactly what I consider "call blocking". I contacted the one I purchased and here was their response.
Hello Richard,
SmartBlock uses two different ways to block incoming calls and SMS - one is
running at very low level of the system, so calls and SMS are blocked
unnoticeably as soon as they are received; while another runs at a higher
level that the phone may produce the first ring before a call or SMS is
rejected - in this later case the call may also be forwarded to the voice
mail, or produce the disconnect tone.
The program automatically chooses the one that works on your phone (low
level first then the higher one), the one that works is very much depending
on the OS on your phone, and there isn’t much we can do about it I'm
afraid.
Hope this explains the issue!

I have to say Magicall works! Not a peep or vibration from my phone on a blocked call coming in. Thanks for the tip!
Does Magicall work on 6.5? I have been using Call SMS Blocker but if I am on a call when the blocked call comes in it kills the radio and puts the current call on hold. If I can quickly get back to the call status screen I can take the call off of hold if not it disconnects.

For me my rule doesnt fire when I am on a call, but you should try the demo and find out for yourself. I am very happy with magicall.
Yep, the two best ones are made by the same company:
Root Call Blocker (for general use):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta
Call Master (for advanced users):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.blacklist
These are the only blockers that completely block everything without turning the screen on. Need to be rooted though.
I have used Root call Blocker(Rooted user only) and its the only app where the calling party does not get to hear "User busy" which might give an impression that you intentionally disconnected the call. On the receiving end the phone will never ring.

+1 for call master, after a couple of duds, this one was good for me. not too advanced.
"SPC" or "private SMS & call" has a blacklist feature that will block calls and texts from numbers you put in to it.
Been thinking about one of these myself. Hmmmm
Can anyone say "Crazy ex-girlfriend"?

Hmm I use afirewall https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lianyun.afirewall.inapp nowdays (this question is a couple years old). It works quite well, it also requires root. It also does not turn on the screen when performing a block.
Whare can I download Magicall.. Because your link doesn't work. Plz tell me.
Edit: Just saw the note: No commercial apps allowed Okay so if an admin wants to delete this thread, dunno if you count a hobbiest selling an app for under $3 and providing a nice full featured free version as well as "commercial" but that's your call not mine. I certainly don't mean to offend.
I played around with various call block / night clocks and didn't find anything to do exactly what I wanted so I wrote CallShield. You can download the Lite version that allows you to specify three blocked callers and three important callers, and purchase an unlock license for unlimited for $2.99.
It couples a ring overrider for important calls, a call blocker for calls with blocked callerid or in a block list, and a bedside clock that mutes the phone but allows important callers and texts through. Great for IT staff on call who don't want to be disturbed by anyone but work.
From the description:
Ever wished you could turn off your ringer but still let your loved ones reach you? That's what CallShield does. Maintain a list of "Important" or "Blocked" callers and CallShield will manage your ringer for you.
When your ringer is in vibrate or silent mode and an important person calls or sends you a text it will automatically activate the ringer to notify you of the event, and then revert back to the mode it was previously.
Want any of your friends to be able to text you important things without adding them all to the important list? Just tell them to add an exclamation mark to the text (that's the default.) You can customize the special code to whatever you want and optionally allow those text messages to override your ringer and ring through.
In addition, CallShield includes a bedside clock with sleep mode. Activate sleep mode and your ringer is silenced, but you can optionally allow important calls and texts to override it. This feature is great for anyone who is on call at night but doesn't want bothered by anyone else.
If you place CallShield in sleep mode, as soon as you answer an important call or exit the screen by touch it automatically disables sleep mode so you can't accidentally go through the day with your ringer off.
It's CallShield in the Android Market or at http://www.humanoidapps.com/callshield
Hi everyone,
I need recommendation for a Call Management app that will enhance my ability to silent individual numbers in scheduled times, like the settings we already have in the phone. I don't want to block numbers only to silent the ring (don't want the other side to know that I'm blocking them).
Any suggestions?
Why dont you try truecaller or call manager.
