anyone tried it yet?
seems a tad more dangerous because of the material its on
i don't think that would work as the logo is under the sreen.. i have a pro on sprint and think of getting the fuze for my wife who is on t-mobile. i was think of doing that to, but like i said i think the logo is under screen
I just went to a local AT&T store to look at the newly released Fuze. I am not sure why AT&T has to ruin things every time a new HTC phone is released. The manager handed over his FUZE and it was covered with fingerprints and finger oil. I was so thrilled to see HTC change the design of the chassis to matte finish from the glossy cover of Diamond. Then, AT&T commits this hideous crime. I had a full intention of purchasing one, but walked out of the store empty handed.
My question, now, is this.
Can a 900/2100Mhz version of Touch Pro be converted to work with US 3G network (850Mhz) by flashing it with a AT&T radio? Or is this a hardware issue?
Anyone shares the same feeling?

the back makes that much a difference? thats just kinda ridiculous
and no the only way to get 3g is to use the att one or wait for the na unlocked which will probly be 800
Yup!
From the pictures, I didn't think it would be so such a big deal, but when I saw it, I just lost all desire to upgrade.

Too lazy to read the threads about trying to add the US 3G bands to the touch pro, but not too busy to waste space complaining about a device you're not gonna buy because it shows fingerprints. Checkout the Raphael elite team thread about that topic.

ha! i had that. Gone to a doctor in houston, tx
I wonder if the euro back cover will fit the fuze..? Hmmmmmmm, solution..?
the piano black finish is actually really nice. Just gota get some clear coat/invisible shield on it to keep it clean.
as for the 3g...hasnt it already been established that it's a hardware issue and that the only way to use it on AT&T network is to buy fuze!? this must be the 5th or 6th thread asking the same thing...well..half of this thread asks the same thing
covers....?

I know the pic looks NOTHING like the euro touch pro but I don't think they put up the correct pic yet as it states in the listing.
ok ok peep this, would this work...
grab a spray can of laquer and lightly mist the back cover
it would give it some texture and it would give it a duller, matted look.
but really, it's the back of the phone so whats the big deal? and you can always nonchalantly (yeah i cant spell) wipe it on your buttcheek

Did that earlier, it works!
Be smart use your brain, first off it's only a back piece. Second of all simply buy the phone and buy a replacement back piece for an unlocked Touch Pro version and snap it in, it's the same back piece! No need to spray pant your phone, LOL.
I didn't get mine yet but not because of the back finish I simply don't want to wait for rebates and all that garbage I'll get mine when BBY Mobile gets them, if they never get them then I guess I'll just never get the phone. To be honest I lost 99% of my interest in this thing waiting for it to come out, now it's like I don't know if I even want it anymore.

true dat, but, if you have a decent phone then you can wait. as for me, i've been using a t-mobile mda with a failing keyboard so i've been watching the release dates like a hawk. then when i went monday to play with a demo before the big release, the guy said yeah we had these for a couple days now. DOH

Agreed. If the back was enough to completely turn you off of the Fuze, then you clearly didn't want it that badly to begin with.
Well..
Is this the perfect device (that is really subjective) Do I dislike the fingerprint aspect, Yes, Can I live with that, Yes. will someone come up with a fix for that (most likely).
Cheers

I've found the butt cheek wipe works (wipes?) better if there is fabric covering the butt cheek.
Wow, i have to agree this thread is really lame.

There are many names I could call you, but I'll keep them clean... Negative Nancy, Debbie Downer, take your pick, there's no reason for a comment like that. You're always the first to tell me half of my posts are arguing, yet 75% of yours are scolding others for what they do on the forum. If it's such a crime he'll be admonished by a moderator, let them judge.
While the glossy black fingerprint sucking evilness of the device IS a huge turnoff, I bought it anyway .
It's a shame it's glossy though. You'd have thought electronics companies would have learned their lesson after PSP, but apparently not. I *hate* glossy black electronics with a fiery passion. Still...the Fuze is a damn nice phone

Indeed, I loved the gray the pre-release had, I don't know why they wrecked it. They had the choices of either matte black like the unlocked version or gray like the pre-release, and they picked glossy black like the Diamond, ugh. The Diamond looks really sharp... until you touch it. Same goes for the Fuze now.
Hey all,
Quick question here... Firstly, yes, I am a noob. I have an HTC One X on AT&T. My brother actually helped me root it and I'm running the Xi40 ROM I found in these developer forums.
Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, I dropped my precious One X, and cracked the screen. The LCD underneath was fine. I was considering replacing the screen/ digitizer myself, but after plenty of reading, it was just too much for me. So I had a local repair shop replace it. When they replaced the screen/ digitizer, they broke my original LCD, so they replaced the the whole combo (being screen/ digitizer/ and LCD). Well they actually put a international version of the digitizer in my device, and I know, because instead of saying "AT&T" at the top, it says "HTC"...
The replacement doesn't sit totally flush to the device, but I can push it in and it seems like there's space for the screen to fit it. Basically was the repair done wrong, or is the international screen actually different from the US version that's disallowing it to fit flush to the device?
I'll try and get pictures up later if anyone is interested.
Cheers.
I dont think the screens have any differences between the international version and the ATT version so maybe they just did the procedure wrong

Thanks for the insight. Currently I'm just trying to push it into place or something, hoping it will snap in. Any cases you guys would recommended that wraps over the sides to maybe help the screen stay flush?

He didn't do the best job putting it in, then again a lot of us got our phones with the screen not sitting flush as well.
and it isn't necessarily the T3 international version, the Rogers version (which is the same S4 variant) also says Htc on top. Either way though, you're fine.

That may not be true. The Teg3 One X uses panels from Acer and Sharp whereas the XL uses Sony panels exclusively. It seemed kind of odd but if they are actually sized differently it makes sense.

Ohhh, well in that case maybe that actually is whats causing OP's problem
For years now, I've been hearing about and seeing examples online of knockoff phones floating around. I never thought I would actually come across one, however, until today.
I work at a major retailer and a customer comes up to me today with a manilla envelope and says that she wants me to setup her phone. She had bought a SIM online from prepaid service and came to the store to buy an airtime card. She then pulls out a phone from the envelope. I see a white "Samsung" phone. It looked to be something similar to a Galaxy S III Mini or Galaxy Express. I didn't think of anything when I first saw it, but I did first look for carrier branding to make sure it wasn't carrier locked. I saw none. The phone also had a hard plastic case on it with a strangely-skewed Android logo on it.
Upon closer inspection when I took the phone over to my work counter, I noticed some oddities. The screen seemed a bit strange. It was resistive. That was the first alarm. I then noticed that the "Samsung" logos on the phone were actually decals or stickers stuck to the front and back of the phone as opposed to being screen printed on, like they should be. After prying the back off, I noticed a really lightweight, cheap looking battery, with no branding whatsoever. There were also two SIM slots with two different IMEIs. I know that some international variants of certain phones have two SIM slots, but I've never actually seen one. Another alarm was something that was printed on the back of the phone under the battery: "Model: i9300." This was defiantly not a Galaxy S III.
I called into the carrier and had the SIM activated. Everything on that end seemed to go through just fine. I put the SIM into the phone and booted it up. I was greeted with a really cheesy boot animation of a stylized Galaxy S logo. When the UI finally loaded, I noticed something reminiscent of a Gingerbread-based TouchWiz homescreen. The fonts were some really pixelated serif fonts and all of the icons and "widgets" on the homescreen were really bad looking icons. When I finally found the settings menu, I dug around looking for APN and after quite a while, I finally found them. I struggled to use the onscreen keyboard with a stylus and put in all the correct settings. I rebooted the phone and was unable to make any calls. A few other oddities that I noticed were an articulating extendable antenna popping from the top of the phone and a "WiFi" logo under the battery. I could find no actual WiFi functions in the software. After playing around with all the call and APN settings, I decided to break the news to the customer.
She said that a "tech-savvy" friend of hers bought the phone for her online for $80. It was hard to tell someone they just basically bought an $80 paperweight. She left and then came back after a short time (after saying she had cried) wanting to buy a "real" Samsung phone. So about $150 later, she had an actual Samsung that was actually able to function as a smartphone should.
Not sure what I want anyone to get from this story; I just thought it was interesting and I thought I'd share it. I just wish I had gotten pictures of the actual phone. Oh well.
Just wow. I've heard about good "fakes", but it's sad that that one was completely unusable.

My friend got suckered into buying a phone that's similar to be the one you described. I took some pics of it. He's pissed as he paid $300 expecting a real GS3.
I have an AT&T branded G2 and I was wondering how to remove the AT&T logo on the back? Or if its at all possible?
Umm question. Why would you want to remove the logo in the back?
1. I just scratched it off gently with tweezers. Thanks anyway.
2. Idk it looks ugly IMO I don't want a globe on the back of my phone. It bothers me its like an ocd thing I don't like carrier logos and I came to the g2 from my nexus 5 because it got dropped in water and died.
