Keyboard problems Touch pro - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello
I'm newbie using the toucpro and i installed wm65 build 23009 with no problems during install and starting up, but when I open the keyboard for creating a sms and try to use the green fn-key the phone always opens the calender, could this have anything to with that i want to use the T9 function, but evrytime i press the "fn-key" the phone opens up the calender no matter whats on the display, i cant add any sign like %&$() using the slideout keyboard.
Pls give me a hint what to do.

Automatically Show Keyboard in Contacts Application

I only lookup contacts by using the keyboard in the Contacts application, and I really miss the way the Treo let me search contacts from the Today screen by using its full keyboard. I would like an application that gives me a keyboard with a lookup bar right in the Today screen, but since that's not available, can I at least get the keyboard to pop-up automatically without me having to open it up every time I open the Contacts application?
One way I see this feature implemented is by using MortScripts. Does anyone know of another/better way?
Thanks a lot,

DA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1 - what happened to the keypad for text messaging

Hi Guys,
I've just upgraded to DA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1 rom and its working great, but only one minor problem.
ON the last WM5 rom, I could use the on screen keypad to type out a text message, rather than the qwerty on screen or the pad ( i had grown rather used to it).
I cant see the option for using the keypad input anywhere at all in any of the menus.
IS this feature not including in the rom, or am I just being dumb and missing it?
Regards
Goldfish
r u referring to XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 RC1?
your question is kind of jumbled. are you trying to use the on screen keyboard or the hardware keyboard on your device?

Try this out. Touch KeyPad/KeyBoard(Freeware)
ahhh, i get the ? now.
another one is the pocket keyboard, www.pocketcm.com
what i don't understand on both the one werd suggested and pocketkb is why they didn't put a period (.) on the main keyboard instead of having to go somewhere else, it's a hassle when using it to type a web address.
edit: actually just noticed on pocketcm website you are able to configure the keyboard layout, maybe it can be changed to add a period...anywho i don't use either, my fingers are too big lol
thanks for replying guys, sorry my message was a bit garbled.
I tried the touch keypad, but still cannot get the alpha numberical keypad
just like the one in the image under title Touch keyboard v1.0 Description
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-touch-keyboard-v1-0.html
Turn off one touch symbol presses in options. then create a new text message
tried that, didnt make a difference.
After installing touch keyboard, i get the same keyboard lay out on screen, no matter if i pick keypad or keyboard.
beginning to think that the rom may have got corrupted and needs re flashed
you have to be in a spot where you can enter text or else it shows the default keyboard man, that's why i said create a new text message. just read the comments on that page i linked if you have to
I turned off auto substitution and that seemed to fix it.
guys your all great, thanks for the help

Try either of these. I think they will give you what you are looking for... T9 Keypad SIP. The first is English only. The second has lots of international languages.

HTC Keyboard or other keyboards like resco Keyboard wont work only built in ones

Recently put 6.1 rom on (cooked one).
The built in keyboard works nicely. However, the HTC Touch or any other ie. resco keyboard pro will not work. It appears in Input and setup correctly. But when you goto word, or another app and click the box to show input methods select the other htc or resco it just goes to normal keyboard.
Any ideas how to fix this as its REALLY annoying.

I want original WM Keyboard back !

Hi all,
Do you know a way to enable back the original WM keyboard ? I really miss it because of the gesture settings for shift, backspace, space and and enter keys!
Or do you know a way to enable gesture settings in HTC keyboard ?
Thank you.
Yes and I want wm Keyboard ... please help !!! THX.
the same problem
about 5 hours in active search and with no results
does anybody knows it is possible to take native kbd files from wm 6.1?
I'm wanting to test some keyboards before I buy, not sure what the original win mo one is like or how to get it, but imagine it would be quite hard.
Can anyone PM me some links to get some keyboards to try, like Resco etc? Sorry for hijacking!
In sk-tools I have seen under "Eingabemethoden" (= should input method or something simelar) that the standard WM keyboards are just deactivated.
So you can give it a try with sk-tools and reactivate whatever you want.
I will not try it for you because so far my HD is running fine and I want to wait with the next hard reste for the next rom ...
Best regards,
dingolino

Thank you dingolino you are right, the keyboard is still there but hidden or may I say quite buried by HTC
I don't have the registered version of skTools so I browsed the web to try to find a way to enable it back :
First I tried to enable it in registery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4990566&postcount=3
But it wasn't enough ...
So then I tried SIP Change which allows to force to display the keyboard But the little arrow that allows to choose the keyboard still doesn't display the keyboard in the list So for now I have to launch SIP Change each time I want to choose the standard WM Keyboard (which BTW is surprisingly good and finger friendly enough if you enable gestures )
So the last thing I miss is some hack to remove the s*cking uhh I mean HTC "customized" little arrow at the right of the keyboard to display a menu with all the keyboards installed and also the settings for each keyboard. I tried to wander as discussed it the following post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482910 but for now I didn't found a solution that works.
So if someone have a solution to disable the "HTC customized little arrow" and replace it by the standard one please share it with us
Cheers,
Nibbler.

Qwerty dialer?

Coming from Blackberry, I've been frustrated with the stock dialer. Is there a dialer out there that I can load that is in qwerty format so i can search my contacts easier? I would love to be able to use just a normal qwerty keyboard with a "button" to toggle to a num pad. Thanks in advance.
Go into settings/keyboard/ and change the type of keyboard, you can choose the compact qwerty(blackberry) qwerty or dialer(t-9 type)
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
You can hit search on the home screen and start typing a name.
That or you can use T9 in the stock dialer dialer to find a name
No need to use your contacts at all
Guys...these are all valid responses. My suggestion is to give it time and get use to having a REAL Smartphone instead of that CrapBerry.
