Hi all,
Do you know a way to enable back the original WM keyboard ? I really miss it because of the gesture settings for shift, backspace, space and and enter keys!
Or do you know a way to enable gesture settings in HTC keyboard ?
Thank you.
Yes and I want wm Keyboard ... please help !!! THX.
the same problem
about 5 hours in active search and with no results
does anybody knows it is possible to take native kbd files from wm 6.1?
I'm wanting to test some keyboards before I buy, not sure what the original win mo one is like or how to get it, but imagine it would be quite hard.
Can anyone PM me some links to get some keyboards to try, like Resco etc? Sorry for hijacking!
In sk-tools I have seen under "Eingabemethoden" (= should input method or something simelar) that the standard WM keyboards are just deactivated.
So you can give it a try with sk-tools and reactivate whatever you want.
I will not try it for you because so far my HD is running fine and I want to wait with the next hard reste for the next rom ...
Best regards,
dingolino

Thank you dingolino you are right, the keyboard is still there but hidden or may I say quite buried by HTC
I don't have the registered version of skTools so I browsed the web to try to find a way to enable it back :
First I tried to enable it in registery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4990566&postcount=3
But it wasn't enough ...
So then I tried SIP Change which allows to force to display the keyboard But the little arrow that allows to choose the keyboard still doesn't display the keyboard in the list So for now I have to launch SIP Change each time I want to choose the standard WM Keyboard (which BTW is surprisingly good and finger friendly enough if you enable gestures )
So the last thing I miss is some hack to remove the s*cking uhh I mean HTC "customized" little arrow at the right of the keyboard to display a menu with all the keyboards installed and also the settings for each keyboard. I tried to wander as discussed it the following post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482910 but for now I didn't found a solution that works.
So if someone have a solution to disable the "HTC customized little arrow" and replace it by the standard one please share it with us
Cheers,
Nibbler.

Basically, I am looking for a QWERTY soft keyboard with larger keys than the built in one in Portrait mode.
I apologise if there really is a well known solution to my aggravation. It must have trekked over the horizon, cos I spent atleast 6 hours last night trying to find it.
So, I find the most convenient way to type is with thumb or fingers, and I can do this on the built-in keyboard, with a moderate accuracy. It's still more convenient than getting out the stylus.
I have demod perhaps 15 different SIP Keyboards now and NONE of them have a larger keyboard in Portrait mode than the built-in keyboard.... WHY? They either have large keys and a stupid gimmick or small keys and a standard QWERTY. Could the calligrapher keyboard be any smaller?
Here is my ideal SIP Keyboard: a qwerty keyboard with just the letters (and . , ?) on screen, but taking upto half of the screen. The numbers can be hidden under a shift or alt key.
Does this exist? All the large key keyboards I have found take up the whole screen, which I find very irritating in itself.
We've all the seen the iphone and its keyboard right? Is there not a single program with good size keys for ppc? I found one that is ABCD etc. not qwerty and the guy wanted to charge over 100 dollars on handango.
Please Please Please. Help me and suggest a solution. Thank you.
PS. I have found ideal software for the Palm OS, is there a version for PPC? Look here:
http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...e=english&platformId=1&N=96804 95766&R=165068
I just found a good one for all those interested.
Its called Happy Tapping Keyboard. It resides on some obscure korean site i think. Do a google search and use the translate option. It works enough to understand.
So far it is hands down the best keyboard available. Its larger than the built in one and even larger in landscape, but most importantly it only takes up a little bit of the screen, so you can still see stuff.
I highly recommend. And it is free and skinnable. You can also add a WAV sound to the tap, an audio aide so you know when you have hit it. That is if you dont want to enable all screen tap sounds in WM5.
some details
Thanks for this HTK program,
this is the link for download :
http://d.hatena.ne.jp/KOTETU/00000103
once it is downloaded, you need to move the cab file directly to your device (don't run it from your computer).
and this is the one for some skins :
http://blogs.shintak.info/articles/979.aspx
put them in the picture folder or a folder that you will easily find on your device.
choose the right VGA/QVGA mode
to change the skin :
go to setting then choose the keyboard icon and find the skin you put in your folder.
et voila !
rq : would be nice if the button could be bigger !
and it is obsure japanese not korean,
cheers
I can't seem to find "\" char... anyone enlighten me pls
Why do you want to translate a Korean site when you can just get it next door.. yes, next door here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296455&highlight=
can someone please tell me were to get the htc software keyboards from!!
i put 6.5 on my phone but there are no software keyboards but the windows 1..i need them please please help!
the default HTC keyboard is called "EzInput". Searching for that will yield you better results.
Also check out the new "FingerKeyboard" I find it works alot better then the default one. It is one I use currently.
Another keyboard I found worked very well was Spb Keyboard. It allows finger gestures for backspace and space. Helps alot.
Also PocketCM Keyboard is REALLY sweet if you can get it set up properly. This keyboard allows for "sloppy" typing. Using this keyboard, you don't have to press the keys exactly. It references your taps against a dictionary and is pretty accurate.
I like the look and feel of FingerKeyboard but find the way PocketCM Keyboard works simply amazing. Both keyboards allow skinning. A mix of the two would be amazing.
Hello,
I bought A HTC HD2 and it is graet, but I miss the Stylus for some older Apps and I miss the Transcriber Handwriting-Letter Recogntion. I tryed yet to install some Transcriber-Addon, but it's not aviable in the Menu of Letter Inserting Methodes. Sad!
I want to use it and write with my Fingers on the Screen - for me this would be much easyer!
Who has some Idea for me, some Option, Tool or Application?
Thanks A Lot. Manuel

you could try the SlideIt keyboard. It has a Graffiti part which enables you to write on the screen with your fingers!!
http://www.mobiletextinput.com/Product/SlideIT/SlideIT.php
I suggest to try Swype. You might forget the Transcriber .
I can't help with Transcriber... but make sure you install this if you do use it;

That's wrong, sorry !
In the french release of official 1.48 HTC ROM, you can find in windows folder the program transcriber.exe.
Make a shortcut for it where you want, and when you launch it on the Touch HD2, you can appreciate handwriting recognition, better than ever.
Unfortunately, i've not yet found the way to make it work as a keyboard option
yeah....it recognize "lol" as "Re :" , what a usefull app :<
Make your own Keyboards aviable for an Option in Leo Keyboard Menu (How?)

how to do that?
.
If you run the transcriber app then it stays running till you close it (by selecting a different input type). Any app where you need to type will accept input in the form of handwriting on the screen.
Open file explorer
Navigate to the windows folder
Locate and run Transcriber
Close file explorer
Create a new SMS message
"Tap to compose text"
Write on the screen
It just works
On my HD I used a cab called "miri transcriber"... as the name says it comes from Miri. After reading this post I install it on my HD2 (WWE ROM)... an it works as you said.
Of couse you have to launch manually the "transcriber.exe" in te windows folder. If you need, just create a shortcut with total commander.
Anyway, I really miss my HD stylus.
Hi :
Newish Member so forgive ignorance.
But how good is writing with your fingers ?
Can you use anything less thick ?
Have heard that Asian Markets may have a stylus available soon.
Anybody know anything ?
Also will have access to an older HTC Touch2.
This fortunatley has a stylus.
But Transcriber has been disabled (T-Mobile UK; Win 6.5 ROM)
Can this method be used to enable it ?
Also where is Swype available from and what is installation process ?
Thanks in advance

H i
just install it
I use QuickMenu to change SIP
(btW: I used Transcriper to write this )
Cheers

any idea how i can get transciber working? i have got the letter and block rec working but cant find transcriber.exe ? where is it located?
Alrite. I don't know if its because its my first ever touchscreen phone or if i i still need practice. But its so hard to type on the touchscreen qwerty on touch2.
I keep getting mistakes!
The buttons are just too small for me. I just cant do it. I use iphone and its easy but when i use touch2 i always get mistakes. WHY?!?!?!
[don't tell me i shud hav gotten iphone, i hate them, too common, i wana be unique]
I used my dad's HTC TD2. He has qwerty. And i get no mistakes cause i tilt the keyboard to the left side and text.
Please tell me how i can tilt my qwerty keyboard to the left too.. The screen rotation just doesnt work for the keyboard.
I appreciate it x100000000000000000000billlllionnn if theres a solution..
I have to keep using my nokia 6500 in school cause i can send sms's faster before the teacher catchs me. Please help
Unfortunetly the touch 2's ezinput keyboard does not support rotation (rotation can be activated on your touch if you so desire, look around and you'll find it)
you could try a custom qvga htc ezinput that does support landscape (again, use the search, ive seen it somewhere) alternatively, get SPB keyboard is it not only supports landscape but also fullscreen, very handy. just make sure you turn off its USELESS predictive text option.
Hope this helps.
Also, you shouldnt be texting in class, I'm confiscating your phone, come collect it after school, also....detention! My office! NOW!
I'm going to try SPB Keyboard, what do you use for texting?
well I use the default EZInput keyboard now, but for a long while I used spb keyboard, I've tried swipe and touchpal and fingerkeyboard but none match the brilliance of SPB keyboard.

Does somebody knows how to disable Gingerbread Keyboard?
Ik hate that one.. and if i install some other keyboards, gingerbread wont change!?
Please help?
That's easy to do ! You just have to download a keyboard (for example GO keyboard), then you have to uncheck Touch Input keyboard in your preferences !

Haha sounds easy, but i wont help me
I've got a Custom ROM installed on it.. and normaly you can choose between Keyboards, but of i do CHECK an other keyboard, like GO for example, it wont pop up when i want to type something. And yes, normaly it do works, but this time none of the other keyboards wil activate
I had the same problem before but i found a solution,
I maintain my finger on the screen (where the text is typed) a popup appears and i can chose a tab which is named "Mode de saisie" in french (maybe input mode in english) and then the system ask to me to choose between the different keyboards I installed.
I don't know if you understand me, but if you don't you can ask me some questions

Soo still no changes..
