PTT Remap help - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I've found plenty of posts about this, but none about the new Fuze AT&T ROM. The new one has the PTT remap capability built in, but ONLY for short press. How do I get long press mapped in the new Fuze AT&T ROM?
I took a look at the registry keys, but I can't figure it out. I want to map long press to the camera.
Thanks

copy the shortcut you want from the start menu, rename to long_PTT.lnk and put it in your windows folder...

That didn't do it. It just keeps toggling between vibrate, normal, silent.

Remapping hardware shortcut keys on a US T-Mobile SDA

There are a few keys on the front of the SDA that I want to remap.
On the front, there's a T-Mobile key and three media player keys.
On the right side, there's a camera key and on the left, a Comm Manager Key and a volume rocker.
Now, the fun part...
In the Windows folder in the root directory (WM5 if that matters), there are a few shortcut files. SHORT_xxx and LONG_xxx
Short is for a press, long is for a hold.
I've remapped the T-Mobile key to the Text messenger.
I've remapped the Comm Manager Key to my Program Manager...
...but here's the issue. Some keys are unmappable. For example, the Comm key, if held, opens the Voice Notes. I changed the shortcut to make it open the AIM client, but when I press it, the AIM client opens and then it quickly opens the Voice Notes program.
Is there another area of WM5, like the registry, that holds info like this? Or do I just have to deal with it?
would love to know more about this, as i have the same phone.
I also have a SDA, but with the Qtek 8300 ROM. When I had the SDA ROM, I could remap the buttons, but under the Qtek ROM (and the I-Mate ROM) the files (Short_AP1.lnk for instance) are unchangeable/undeletable. Can anyone help me remap these buttons?
Thought I might bump this up as I have been trying to figure out how to do it..
Personally im trying to remap a long press of the comm button to open task manager.

PTT to Vibrate

before i get thrashed, i have searched and looked through various cabs and threads about the old hermes comm manager button to toggle vibrate...
i have seen people remap the ptt button as most of the cooked roms have that option now... but i want to remap it to where it can vibrate when held down like the old comm button toggle vibrate cab....
i tried to cheat it by installing the old cab and remapping it, but that option isn't there obviously since the tilt doesn't have a commmanager button
i've checked out dutty's along w/ almost everyone else's cab collection and don't see anything on point..
can anyone provide help?
Vibra Switch is your savior.
you are a wise, wise person.. thank you... that did seem to work...
also, schap made a program that lets u long press the end key to change from sound to vibrate.

Registry Key for Button Mapping?

I know this topic has been covered - but that's the thing...it hasn't, that I can find. I see a dozen searches for this, all with responses saying "Try Vito ButtonMapper!" or "Try AE Button Plus!" Well, I've tried both.
AE Button creates a delay in any key I try to remap, so that the internet key (remapped to the Scroll Right button, since my normal Scroll Right button is ... broken) has a three-second delay after I push it until the button registers being pressed. So, AE Button is a no-go.
VITO is working much better, albeit it is far less functional in terms of those keys that can be remapped. But that's not my concern for my current issue. I'm using it right now, and it's screwing up my softkeys royally (and yes, I do know how to use the program properly, and so it's not just my ignorance to the different configurations).
So, can someone just give me a yes or no, without beating around the bush, on whether there is a direct registry key that can remap one button onto another? And, if there is, would anyone have any idea where I can find a list of keys corresponding to their respective registry values?
Thanksssssssssssssssssssss.

Quickest way to reach camera

I am a Touch Pro which does not have a PTT button.
Any suggestions on how to reach the camera quickly? What is your quickest way to get to the camera?
remap the center button on your phone to start up camera
mobileSCR Gscroll, map the capacitive area of the screen(where the buttons are), really useful(can choose any sequence of taps to do anything, open application)
or AEButton... what' the use of a volume rocker? just use one button to get to the volume page and use the touch screen to change the setting...(one problem would be changing vol on the fly like during a phone call... that case, change the setting, one-button press = default volume behavior, two-button press = whanever you want, three -button, long press, whatever you want

Thanks! I will try to do this but I cannot find the built in remap ap on NRGs rom, still looking for it :-D
@paperWastage: Thanks for the tip! If I cannot find the built in software I will install AE buttons.
you cant remap the center button. i think he was being pedantic. maybe you can set a button to be voice command and say "start camera".
I just have the camera in the programs... Slide over to programs and press camera...

actually... i was serious. There is a fuze keyboard config software floating somewhere in the raphael forums. It might be able to let you remap the centerbutton.
but why would you want to remap your center button.

I have to agree as this is a very important function.
Mayne a Long press center button maybe more appropriate.
I cant seem to find any remap built in software on the NRG rom. My Touch dual had one which allowed me to remap some basic buttons like volume button.
Looks like AEbuttons is the answer for me. Will try to test it first and update you guys.
If you go to Setting and on the Personal Tab there is a Buttons setting and you can change the receive call button (press and hold of course) to whatever you want, including the camera.
Also a good idea to go over to the Systems tab and change the Long Press End Key Setting to Lock Device or something else than Turn Airplane mode on/off, god that sound is annoying when Airplane mode is turned on
it depends on the rom or software if you have the unlocked all buttons. honestly theres no faster way to get there than start > camera or photos tab > camera. if you dont have an american phone with a ppt button, there wont really be a faster way.
i actually did not mean to map the single click. I thought it was obvious i meant the long press.
using softkey manager you can replace one of the softkeys on the homescreen, as ur using an NRG rom im guessing your two softkeys on the home tab are "action" and "contacts"? ive got rid of the contacts, because a. i could jus use the people tab, or b. jus press the call button to bring up the dialer... and have replaced it with camera
the softkey manager should be under utililites/tweaks... it is on mine and im using an NRG rom
hope this helps.

Question about the PTT button.....

If you go to settings --> personal --> buttons, you'll find that you can assign programs to buttons, and the first two is PTT (Push to talk).
Well, i've never really used this, but the PTT button on a HTC Touch Pro is the middle circle button right?? I tried to hold it down but nothing comes up, by default the camera should show up.
I tried the other buttons like the pick up call button and it brings up the task manager, so that works, but i can't get the PTT to work....
The PTT button is an extra button for the htc fuze, that AT&T had HTC put on so they could provide "easy" access to their Push-To-Talk service. It costs money to use, so most people would remap it to launch other apps.
It is on the left hand side when the screen is facing you, under the volume rocker.
Here is an image I pulled from WMexperts
thanks a lot for your reply. Ahh no wonder i can't find it, my Touch Pro doesn't have it
