I would like to change the color of top/bottom bar for matching my wallpaper. I used a software "theme maker" to make it. However, when I applied it on my D2, the color was different from that I created in theme maker. I wanted to make a bright orange color, but it comes out with a dark light brown......
Any bros. here can tell me what happen and how to make it correctly? Thanks
-please apologise my poor English

Try UI Tweaker
Those bars are part of classical windows theme. You can change it in All settings/Personal/Today. There are three or four options but web is full of winmo themes.
The colours cannot be changed on a Win Mobile 6.1 device!

Sorry but they can be changed, I've tried it with soft above. Topaz WWE stock ROM.
I sucessfully changed the color that I wanted! But the dark line still exist. May be the resolution of HD and D2 is different, I have tried to use the default wallpaper, that makes the line thinner but cannot be eliminated.
I actually want to update to WM6.5 for a transparent task/command bar, but I dont know much about the software things and afraid that the warranty would be voided....
Default Wallpaper----->
I used Theme Maker to change the color of task bar, but the lighting/3D effect disppear that makes the bar so FLAT.....
its possible to change with personalize software..

So, do you mind to tell which software is suitable for D2?
can some bros tell me how to get rid of that black line?? I dont like the black task/command bar 'cause it makes the screen looking smaller!

Many thanks, good luck with your taskbar. I use max ttm theme maker on my 6.5 custom rom, so my taskbar and command bar are transparent

Then we moved to this style, a little nicer.
Then WM5 happened, with a very nice interface.
Wow, Windows Mobile 6 looked great.
Wait, wasn't this CE 2000?
Someone must be wrong. I am, unfortunately, this is WM6.1
Can anyone tell me why this choice?

What forum are you in ?
These are my bars
I don't mean the icons (which I prefer flat white), I'm talking about the background color of the bars. With WM6.1 they went back to a solid color...
In 6.5 it'll be translucent, which is a good thing, it'll let us put the background we want behind them, but with 6.1 they're just flat
My theme in 6.1 has the same gradient that is shown in your 6.0 example. I would say it's probably the theme you have that's taken off the gradient.

Oh I thought you were talking about being stuck with they factory icons. Doesn't RC Mod allow you to mix colors ?

It's weird, I use Mobile Shell to set colors, and on my old X500+ (cooked 6.1) mobile shell 2 uses the WM6-style gradients for themes, on my diamond Mobile shell 3 uses all flat colors.

I just tried it, and while searching I also found (again, after years) BaseHueExpress, which I prefer. I'm going to stick with it

It looks tempting, but I don't really want to waste more time in customizing the appareance of my phone. Color and wallpaper are enough =P
try other tsk theme, on WM6.1 looks same as WM6...
Hello everybody,
I did search but no luck. Maybe it has not been done yet.
What I would like is to have a mania 2.1 theme that looks exactly as the sub-menus look. White.
This would be good for several reasons:
1. You would actually see your screen in direct sunlight. I suppose you know what I mean...
2. It would give the phone an elegant clean look.
3. It would give the good old manila a new look but at the same time it would not be exaggerated or too colorful.
I would be glad to help any developer who is interested, but unfortunately I don't have the coding knowledge...I know design though and would be glad to provide any kind of image manipulation services if it's needed.
If this already exists please help me with a link
Also, what we might need if a white upper and lower taskbar theme to make this complete.
The HTC Fuze (for AT&T) stock ROM includes a white theme. It shouldn't be too hard to modify the art a bit to remove the AT&T-ificiation, and make a nice white theme.

Personally, I have experienced that white text/icons on a black or black-ish background give me sufficient contrast for daylight use. Perhaps you should turn off your light-meter and set the backlight lumens to 100%.
Thank you for your reply. Yes. I was looking for something similar... The only difference would be to have it the default touchflo 3d sub-menu color scheme.
It would also help me if someone would guide me to a thread that is about changing the text color...that would be useful too. If I could change the text, the only thing that remains would be the slide-bar which is easily customizable.
Thanks
As I was looking further I found a thread and it seems like he has only just started the work.
Here's the thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=79323
And the image:
that reminds me of chocolate vanilla poptarts. and now i really want some poptarts!
edit: by the way that doesnt look like manila 2.1 (i typed vanilla at first, hehe, damn delicious poptarts!) like he wanted. but it looks like a white background and a white slider canvas and a black flip clock. how hard could it be to get those up and working?
Yes.
All we would need would be:
1. Black text - which I couldn't find
2. A Custom Slider - which is not as important
3. A black clock which can also be found somewhere - not too important either.
And it seemed easy to me too, but unfortunately no one has made this before. If it is that easy please point me to a thread where I can get the black text from (for manila 2.1) and I'll be happy because the slidebar isn't that bad this way either.
ask in the manila 2.1 port thread. im sure someone will get you some black text.
hey look what i found. retro eh?
Yeah, retro indeed. I asked in the manila 2.1 port thread but they seem to be too busy with answering other questions and didn't take the time to even respond.
I can understand them because they have enough on their mind...poor guys work a lot for free so you can't be mad at them for not answering.
I just hope that one day someone will take the time to change the manila text to black.
is it possible to make the taskbar transparent like in win mobile 6.5? I have tried but to no avail

i would also love this option...if for no other reason than to match the rest of the clear themed stuff.
please does anyone know if this is possible
Well i was capable of making it transparent but only when the screen transitions and you can see it is transparent when I pull the taskbar down. I dont know how to get it transparent on the home screen.
Probably could be done the same way you recolor it. Just use a transparent .png file instead of a colored one. Its a good idea, I'd use it.
do you know which file has to be changed i looked but could not find it

I actually tried this and it did not work, just made the task bar black. My theory is that the wallpaper ends at the task bar rather than covering it . If that is true I think you would have to "fake" a clear task bar by making it match your wallpaper. I have done this successfully with solid colors, but it would be harder with a more complicated wallpaper.
Example:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

I made this (and I am definitely not a photoshop expert as you can see) and this is not glossy unlike Dinik Anastasia icons but it does sort of do the trick for me.
i have switched out many bad icon using CSMI (change start menu icon). works like a charm...
note - i realized that it does matter wherever you store your new icons (meaning you can't switch them and delete the original graphic) and you can't move them around at will. so i just put them all in a folder on my sd card and now no problems.
cheers.

Yep, just save to comp then transfer to phone. You will have to use an icon changer program app like JWMD icon changer, or CSMI (if you search those here on XDA, you will find the cab files with the instructions on how to use them). I use JWMD since it has intuitive UI and is easy to use. Changing icons is a tedious process since you have to do it one icon at a time. Good luck!
thanks.. i think i got it to work.. cheers
i got this one. maybe someone can make white corners transparent. no soft installed right now
Here you go.
hmm now there is a big white frame around.
maybe you can make it like the other two
thx
no white frame
It is a png file, the white background is transparent. And you are welcome.
Hi guys and thanks everyone who found this tweak out.
I've been playing around with my Dark theme, and I've got some questions. Can anyone help me? Its okay if you dont wanna

^ the explorer bar color is painful to the sight. Doesnt match with the white background. I cant find the correct option to change this color no matter how hard i try to find them. Does anyone know?
^ In the app list, Long hold an item. The Text that says "Pin to start" etc. doesnt match AT ALL! I think its related to the Status Bar below if im not mistaken as they are the same color. The image shows a different color but it is actually almost the same as the status bar's. Anyone knows how to change this? THANKS
LASTLY...
^ "Ratings" color in the Marketplace is the same as background, No idea how to change this. I MIGHT GET CONNED INTO BUYING A LOUSY APP! :O Anyone knows how to change this?
also, The top bar isnt that great. Anyone knows how to change this too? THANKS AGAIN.
By the way, I've noticed that some of the regidtry entrys for colors, Like colors in the email application links to the ones i changed for the Light Theme. Changing for one type of Theme might cause both to be Changed. So, any ideas anyone? THanks ALL
Does anyone know off hand what controls the color of the star ratings in marketplace and when placing a review? Mine seems to be completely black, which means that
I cannot see the stars without changing my background colour.
Also, I noticed a few minor observerations:
- If you change the Theme color to anything other than FF00000000 your dialer becomes white.
- If you don't have 8 digits in a color bad things can happen (in one case I had 9 digits in one colour and all apps crashed on start until I changed the theme to light and fixed the dark version of the value)
