NOOB question

im planning on upgrading mg DOPOD 900 to WM6, as far as i know dopod 900 is the same as htc universal, o2 exec etc... so is it possible to flash the wm6 roms to my device? i just want to make sure is my device is compatible with the upgrade so as not to kill my dopod.

well you do know that dopod 900 is the universal (which belive me is a big thing) so here it goes....
Yes you can flash any UNIVERSAL Rom on to your 900 but
1) Your device needs to be CID Unlocked...this is not same as SIM Unlocked...if you don't know what i am talking about then you would have to read the Universal Wiki...
OR..
2) your rom upgrade file would have to contain the new patched ruu...
the problem with this is that you don't know which rom upgrades have that...
It would also be important to remember to upgrade in XP or lower only...
(if you want to use vista the search for how to upgrade using vista)
and even after doing everything right you may still end up with a BRICKED device...

Touchscreen issue after flashed emonster ROM

Hey all. First of all, I'd like to thank all all the chefs creating ROM tutorials for newbs like me. I'm in japan and have 2 Kaisers, 1 is emobile's emonster, the other is from HTC and I'm using Softbank.
I wanted to extract emobile's ROM and flash it to my HTC so I would have 2 kaisers using emobile.
After going through all the tutorials, I successfully dumped and cooked the emobile ROM and created the nbh file. After flashing the HTC Kaiser with the emonster rom and powering it on, I get to the setup screen (it's in japanese so I guess I flashed the ROM correctly), but nothing happens after tapping the screen (none of the taps are getting recognized).
Has this happened to anyone after flashing? I tried a hard reset but the same thing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1 day after(3. 29. 2008) come this forum & flashing then using well.
Maybe You something wrong.
Try other rom one more.

Try to cook the ROM with the HTC drivers on it, (touch screen ones) because maybe theres a little difference between the Emobile one and the HTC one!!

I had exactly the same problem when trying to reconstruct the emobile rom. I had no luck resolving it I was hoping to get it working so I could try some of the english roms.

any drivers on that monster ??

Thanks for the suggestion....
Can you point me in the right direction on how to include the HTC Drivers? Is it like a package I download and add while I'm cooking? I googled HTC drivers but came up with nothing.

and a little question, does the emonster have the video drivers?? (for hardware acceleration )

by reading your first post again, a lot of ideas are coming to my mind right now, one is:
it could be the RADIO, that maybe is incompatible with the HTC kaiser, because the emonster has a different one or not? (f: 1700mhz)
and the HTC one doesnt have this freq.
so, maybe the radio is having issues with the current system because of hardware incompatibility.

No enhanced video drivers aside from radio weirdness it shoul be just like any of the windoze 6.0 Kaisers.

Thanks for your suggestion. I just recooked the rom with a touch.dll from an WWE rom as you suggested but nothing happens when tapping the screen.
You and Dejanet are correct that the emonster is on a 1.7Ghz frequency. So if there's any other suggestions you may offer, I'm all ears.
As Dejanet stated, unfortunately there are no improved video drivers

do you know if emobile works on another frequency??..
if yes, you could try to cook the OS only, and use the emobile ROM with a RADIO from HTC. (obviously a compatible one, with your WM6 or WM6.1 )
give it a try ..

Since my goal was to get the phone switched to english. I tried flashing several of the OS only ROMS available here and ended up with a perfectly functional PDA but no phone.

could you provide the emonster ROM?
i'll try to get it compatible with the radio and a radio compatible with it..

S11HT English Rom ?

Has anyone managed to convert the S11HT to English yet ?
I have searched the forums in vain - Who will rid us of this japanese OS ;-)

You could be come a hero to us english speakers living in Japan. I love my S11HT and have been happy with emobile's coverage my area except for the emobile black hole at Shoppers Plaza in Yokosuka. But I am occasionally frustrated with the Japanese interface.

sorry guys, i have been a bit busy ...
also i need a device (s11ht) to test the changes i made.
but just keep hoping
the last time i tried it, it didnt work but maybe is because i dont have a s11ht (i have a tytn2).
the radio of s11ht is different to the tytn2 one, (all commands .. all) because it needs to support the 1700 mhz band.
but at the moment, i got working some things (OS) on the tytn2.
just wait..
also, try to install a Diamond ROM into your s11ht and tellme what happens.
if nothing works, then we must wait for the xperia rom (because xperia supports the 1700 mhz band and should work with the s11ht Radio)

Sorry we were never able to get a copy of the original shipped ROM.
I can say on emobile the new radio is significantly better than the old one. I need to fix my sig.

Now we can make the Emonster english. I've tried this using both the L26_daimond and Hyperdragon III. The only thing I haven't been able to make work is display of Japanese Fonts. So if someones solves that life will be great. What you need to do:
First get hard SPL installed then
grap the 1.71 radio from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410953 Thanks to AllTheWay for ripping the radio from the newest Emonster ROM
Get one of the new cooked ROMS I have tried L26_Diamond and HyberDragon III the Augest 4 version

If you install Askal's "Let's Japan No.6", you can read Japanese in English rom. It includes Japanese font as well. After you install it, you need to change keyboard layout with registry editor.

I have tried let's Japan No. 6 and when I install it I can not use the red and green telephone keys to start and end calls.

You need to fix the registry after install let's Japan No.6.

Hi. I have had the S11HT emonster for a year. I would like to change it to English but it seems like it requires a lot of knowledge that I don't have. Does anyone have any suggestions. I read the post

You can choose any cooked rom in this forum. But WM6.1 should be much easier to install Japanese font.
3. Install Askal's "let's Japan No.6"

Being in greece I would suspect you have a gsm phone. AFAIK CDMA is only used here in the states. For the answers to the rest of you questions follow the links below.

If your device is branded you have to download stockROM for your operator eg. TMO_DE. If your device is not branded you have to download and install stockROM without branding (in name he have only GOLD_HTC_EUROPE) eg. for lowest SPL (preNoDo) this one: RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15_Signed

Thanks for your help, but it dosent work, after 1% i became an
ERROR 294 invalid vender ID
it´s whenn i flash the RUU_Gold_7Pro_Europe_5.10.401.03_SLSPL_by_ansar

You have to ask question to Ansar - why SLSPL ROM doesn't work.

Why can you not do the goldcard method? Its is quite simple to do, requires no soldering skills.

HELP Needed
so...
i bought 2 USB Cable with Father and Mother connector and soldered
a Y-Cable.
I Downloaded the Goldcard Tool and createt a 1GB SD Goldcard
then i downloaded the SPL 1.22 ROM you telled me.
i Copyed the RUU-Signed.nbh to my SD Card and renamed it to
GOLDIMG.nbh like in the Video.
i entered the USB Host mode and connected my Phone and the cardreader with pluged in SD card like in the Video
and then........
LOADING........
Not allow
WHAT THE F.... is that ??????
What made i wrong ??

OK i Loaded an other ROM

and it works. my Phone is now Downgeraded
Than i Flashed
RUU_Gold_HTC_Europe_1.22.401.01_Radio_5.63.09.13_3a_22.36.50.15U_by_ansar
Than i got SPL 1.22
Now next step i used DFT RSPL / HSPL and it works
last step i flashed
RUU_Gold_7Pro_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.03_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U_NT_Tango_8773_18L_by_ansar
SO i got a full Unlocked Tango HTC 7 Pro with 32GB MicroSD card in it.
