bad connection quality - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello.. a lot of friends keep telling me that they hear me very badly, that they are experiencing some kind of an echo or smth.. and my voice is distorted.. few of them just asked what a crappy phone am i using.
I tried 1.14.25.35 radio (+rilphone.dll), then i switched to 1.08.25.20m1 (+rilphone.dll installed from an appropriate cab) and nothing really helps, its maybe like 10% better or its just a placebo effect...
Can anyone tell what the heck is wrong ?? im really getting to be annoyed with this problem..

How strong is the signal you're getting? Thats what the problem sounds like. I live in eastern Pennsylvania and while I'm in the house I maybe two bars and cant even make a call, sms only.

What ROM are you using? Sometimes a modified (louder) AudioPara3.csv can have this effect. You may want to try the stock AudioPara3 & see if that makes a difference.

It happens regardless of the signal. I can hear everything fine tho.
Im using now the newest energy 14.07.2009 build + 1.14.25.05
my mic seems fine too, ive tried to record my voice and then hear it out and the sound is good..

Possibly. But you'd have to ask NRG to know for sure, or see if he mentions whether he's using a modified one in his thread. If you can record with it okay, then the audioPara3 probably isn't your problem. At any rate, here's a link to the stock one anyway:

Nothing spectacular here, just these files packaged up in an update style zip for easier installation. Just keep this on your sdcard, and whenever you flash a new rom flash this straight afterwards.

Ahhh, thanks. I always thought I was just a soft spoken ole lad. But when I received an urgent booty call late last night from this girl and she couldn't hear my response to her urges...she gave me the DT (Dial Tone)

Thank you, had a problem where people could barely hear me, ran this and all is fixed! Used it on the Super-D rom.
Apparently this happens a lot, I had no idea why people could not hear me. I don't know why this isn't being correct on some of the more popular roms on xda
Surely you should credit Meltus for his work..?
I assume it's his anyway as I haven't seen anyone else playing with audio..
thanks for the zip bud
can i use these on a g1? i have this stupid problem sometimes where people can hear me but i cant hear them, so its sooo annoying.

No these audio files are for the Magic only, they use different audio files. You can find audio hacks in Meltus's thread.

I've no idea to be honest, I just grabbed the files from the post I linked and put them in an update.zip.
They could also be the original audio files from a stock magic rom.
If anyone knows where these particular files come from let me know and I'll update the op to give credit where it's due

Bamboozling SMS Issue...

I've struggled with this issue for days now... Maybe somebody can help.
I'm dropping most of my text messages. I can successfully send them, but I do not receive them.
I figured it was a problem with SuperbadCM 1.5, because the problem seemed to begin after I updated to 1.5. I've tried downgrading, flashing after a wipe, removing LauncherPro (memory issues?)... nothing fixed it. Then I tried the latest CM5.0.8t2 on a clean wipe, no good, and even flashed an old nandroid of King's 1.5 sense rom... still no message.
What could be the issue? AFAIK everything else works.
I doubt it matters, but I'm using a G1 latest radio and dangerspl. I'm not sure if a logcat of this is possible, but I'll provide whatever info necessary. Thanks for your help. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
if you know what rom it is from would it not make more sense to post in that rom thread and or use SEARCH to find if others witht he same rom are having the same issues and know of a fix....
have you tried a different rom? maybe an eclair 2.1 perhaps??
I've had the very same issue on DangerSPL. I'd recommend using Firerat's AnySPL Patch on Cyan's mod while using stock/Hard/Engineering SPLs.

makes sense, because the issue probably lies on a lower level than the rom. I'll try this now, thank you.
I flashed HardSPL over 2.22.23.02, then Firerat's AnySPL CM5.0.8t1. I'm still not getting text messages... Any other ideas? This is a pretty serious issue for me :/ what's most confusing is the problem occurred months after it was working fine.

What country are you in? I'll bet its the hsxpa and gprs class settings.
Also, you pretty much answered your own question in the first post, it happened after you went to a specific ROM, there's something wrong with it's settings.
It's all right. There was a time when the opposite-sex didn't want to text me back either!

Did you try handcent sms? It has a workaround to an android bug that leads to sms loss when there's not enough memory available.
Yup. Baby steps. Last time this happened to me it was a network issue in my area and just had to wait it out. Any time I'm having SMS issues, I always call to see if the network is jacked up before heading another direction.
Did you not get a notification of a bad SIM? I thought these phones would have been able to detect a bad SIM... At any rate, I'm glad you got it fixed up.

Your's was a pointless statement. You didn't even ask a question. Are you having problems making calls, or getting data, or does it just bother you that only 1 bar is showing? How do other phones behave in the same location? Did it work with the factory firmware?
The patient says, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this." "Then don't do that!"

You need to give a lot more info than "1.6 something" for anyone to help. Just FYI, every radio on the Thunderbolt right now is "1.6 something." Also, you have one bar, but has it been better on the other radio? Does it drop in and out? Do you have data, or only affecting voice calls? What is your actual signal reading (in dbm)? Did you flash anything recently?
Kinda weird that you would give no info and get upset when no info is given back.
My radio is 1.1600_W1
The other radios are
1.12
And the leaked is 1.13
I flashed adrynalnye kernal test A.zip
Got 6-5 bars now.
My mistake. Glad you got it working. For reference, do you remember what kernel you were on when you had signal issues?

I'm not sure which kernel it was sorry.

Hissing when audio starts

So not sure what's up, using that icecream fake rom and OC kernel, and I hear audio hissing most noticible through headphones when there is a noise, there is a hissing going on. It stops after audio stops though, not sure what's up.
I don't know if my rom and kernel are related to this, may have been here before? Anyone else notice this?
Try putting different rom and see the issue is still there cauz I been running ice cream rom with faux123's kernel and never had single problem like this.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426590
Guess my phone is broken?
Also tried returning the ICS one to stock same problem. Also tried it on my hd595 headphones, same problem.
I should mention it does it on the speakers as well, but it's much less noticible.
Do factory reset and if its still bad than you have bad hardware.

It's not your ROM its he audio chip in the phone. There is a thread in skyrocket general where we have been discussing it.
Only workaround is bluetooth or higher quality headphones kinda mask it.

Wait so all phones do this? But I mean it's so loud... well there is a tiny scratch on it too, might as well replace it anyway.
I can't use bluetooth headphones though because I have an icontrolpad and I don't think it can connect to multiple audio devices. Oh well, I don't use it for heavy music stuff, but I mean it's just really loud that hissing.

Horrible call quality

Hey all,
Everything was fine and dandy with calls being loud and clear, until about a few days ago.
One day the call quality from my side just randomly went from great to terrible.
I can hear the other side just fine, but from my side its really low-volume and barely hearable.
Things I've tried:
-Flashing different radios (25R,30O,33R,Find7, radio from the latest nightlies)
-Flashing different ROMs and kernels
-Switching network modes (LTE, 3g, 2g)
-Combinations of the above
If anyone has experience dealing with issues like this/knows anything to improve the call volume from my side, any help would be very much appreciated.

Yup, the speakerphone works great but its inconvenient.
Gutted to have such a basic function impaired.
Hopefully this issue will be fixed by the next OTA, which should be next week around Monday.
Same here. My call quality is really bad. When I am speaking on the phone I'm typically running around desperately trying to find a quieter place, with the phone held up to my left ear and a finger plugged right into my other ear, hunched over like Quasimodo in a desperate attempt to understand 50% of what the other person is saying.
I learned one thing from the OPO. You actually do get exactly what you pay for. Lesson learned. :good:
win
So, after updating to the latest version of vanir and re-flashing the 33R radio, my in-call volume magically got back to normal.
I wish everyone affected best of luck and patience :fingers-crossed:
OPO hype much more than the phone deserves. Not going to last long

@Kiahnlliya @jrior001 @latenightchameleon My in call audio volume from the earpiece is really very low & muffled. It's a very simple fix if rooted. You need to edit a value in mixer_paths.xml. Some custom ROMs increase the value.

No you'll need root or custom recovery to flash the zip unfortunately. Otherwise you will need to wait for your ROM to be updated. CM have merged this in their commits so hopefully if your on stock CM11S you'll see this in the next update.
