Frustrated with (lack) of new A2DP BT headsets - General Topics

I have owned ~5 bluetooth headsets over the past 3 - 4 years and currently have been using the Plantronics Voyager 855 for over a year. Reason for this headset is I like to listen to streaming audio (XM & Sirius) on my phone in stereo and mono...this headset was the only one to offer decent quality sound in a compact package (no dongles hanging from my neck etc..) Problem is my headset is showing its age with shortened batt. life and the range is not what it used to be (also sound as a headset was never that great in noisy environments). My frustration is after almost 1.5 yrs I cant find any new headsets that support a2dp and come in a small package (cant be behind the head both sides like the S9). Jawbone headset has had out 3 different new models during the whole time i have had the 855 and still has not come out with one that supports a2dp...same with all other major manufacturers that I looked at. It just seems like now there is no push by manufactures to produce a mono or optional stereo headset in a small size (I love the blueant Q1 but again..no a2dp).
Anyone know of new headsets coming out that fit my description? Also looked at the use of the btaudio.cab file to "make" any BT headset stream audio ...anyone have experience using this? biggest concern in using this cab would be greatly reducing batt life on my BT.
Thanks

I had great success with nokias a2dp bt steroe headsets

Looking on Nokia web site I cant seem to find any in-the-ear headsets types that list A2DP as a feature. What is the model your using?

I'm having great success with my Lubix stereo headset.

I use BH-503 from nokia

anyone used: Jabra BT320s, Motorola S705, Globalsat BT Stereo???

Which one to pick? and does anyone know if there is a difference in audio quality with a good set of headphones... both have pro/cons to them
the biggest concern to me would be probably quality, if they are all same quality then of course other features would matter more.
I can think of about 3 devices that let you use your own head phones and have a mic built in the BT controller
Why do i want one of these vs the standard BT devices? simple... my PPC has proprietary plug, even though i could solder or hack my own 1/8 stereo jack to the connector i would prefer a BT device

jabra 320s
yes, works very fine with m qtek 9100
you can change headset also as you like
i say it is really handy!
but battery gives you only 3-4 h music.
they say 6h it is maybe very silence listen then
easy to use, but read the manual, it has a lot of very useful functions!

Bluetrek ST1 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones/Handsfree

Just bought a pair of Bluetrek ST1 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones and paired them up with my Trinity running the Australian WM6 ROM and it works a treat.
Audio quality is good for anything up to about 3 metres and degrades from there. The bass is a little lacking but I'm not sure yet whether this is a bluetooth issue or a headphone issue.
In other great news the remote control functions work completely with both HTC Audio Manager and WMP10 as do the call functions. I am yet to test voice commander compatibility.
All in all a highly recommended buy for a decent but cheap pair (AU$120) of bluetooth stereo headphones. I will report back on battery life and other issues if they crop up.

Bluetooth stereo issues

I have had a Motorola S9 through 3 phones and have had no problems, my first Imagio had no problems, my replacement Imagio however, when I am listening to music via the S9 the music gets choppy and cuts in and out. Has anyone had any issues with bluetooth on the Imagio?
I am having issues with my bluetooth hands free. In order to use it i have to have the phone within a foot or two and nothing in between for the sound to come through clear. I would also like to know if there is any kind of fix for this
I don't know if this will be any help...but here are some registry edits I did to clear up the stereo audio quality over bluetooth.
I also use the Motorola S9 headphones and have had no issues.
For me...the music seems to be crystal clear.
Let me know if it works for you...
---
You can always try a hard reset to see if that clears up the problem.
my phone did the same choppy play back then i went to verizons website and looked up the s9 head phones it come back not compatible i did not feel like calling verizon to confirm this tho.
i was think about stealing the headsets from my older son since he likes his $10.00 skullcandy ear buds they were on sale at target during christmas
I like sony earphone
i like sony too
3 plantronics BT headset that will not pair.
1 Samsung stereo headset that will not pair.
My Imagio sees my other phones, my wife's computer, Dell Axim, my Nextar BT hands free.
The problem don't appear to be with BT itself because it does seem to work. Why can't my Imagio pair with this stuff when other devices can?
Is it possible that the Imagio doesnt have a stereo or streaming audio profile?
I suppose i should try pairing my motorola stereo earphones and see for myself.

[Q] Bluetooth headset (for phone and music)

Seen a few posts about bluetooth headsets I would like advise on.
I attend and hold conference calls for work so need to use the mic mute function a lot. Any headset purchased needs to a single click button for mic mute. And its at this point I would like your advise.
Have seen others talking about the following but dont know if they have mic mute.
Sony Ericsson MW600
Motorola S605
What bluetooth headsets could you advise for calls and general walkman style music.

I own the mw600 and can confirm it does have a single button mic mute.
While in a call, simply hold down the "play" button for about 1 sec and it mutes the mic.
As for music ... i prefer less obtrusive setup ... the mw600 is perfect for me ... clip on the unit on my color and just put in the headphones in my ear from around my neck.
Sound quality is amazing ... battery life awesome ... no complaints.

I also own the mw600 from Sony Ericsson. I honestly can't find a competitor that I could claim as good.
I have the Jabra BT3030 and the Jabra BT620s
They both are excellent. The BT620's are over the ear type and I use them with my PC in the house . The BT3030 are unique in that you can plug in any headset to the module . I use it in the car with GPS and music player playing at same time off my Galaxy S (love this phone).
Google both and read reviews. Great products. Have had mine over 3 years.
Vote mw600 as well for this phone.

SonyEricson MW600, had it from my previous phone, loved it and to my surprise when i paired it with my SGS found that it's music controls work perfectly with the default samsung music player. Couple of days ago when i installed winamp and tried the bt controls it brought up winamp player instead of the stock one (just mentioning if someone likes winamp better).
Add to this the caller id feature, great battery life combined with a superb led display and you have the perfect headset. Well almost, i realy miss my nokia headset's vibration feature, but you can't have everything
sorry for the very long delay (holiday)
So from the replies it looks like a one horse race with Sony Ericsson MW600 being the only contender.
thank you for your advise all that replied ive bid on the bay for one.
bought the mw600 two weeks ago and have big problems reconnecting it with my sgs while signal is lost (out of range). Other devices reconnect just fine but not the mw600, every time I have to reconnect manually.
I am using the Jabra Clipper. Does the job. To bad it does not have a display but I also have the mbw 150 with openwatch. I am pretty happy with this setup.

I use Samsung's HM3500.
Does great job for 18£ device, including mini-usb stereo headphones.
Mutes microphone by holding volume up/down.
I use the Plantronics Voyager 855 Stereo Bluetooth Headset.
I bought it some years ago. maybe the have a new version. I like it because you can connect it with two devices at the same time and it is some kind of a transformer. if you don't need the stereo capabilities at a time, you can remove the second headphone.
great thing... i love it...
My se mw600 wasnt so good on my sgs. I keep getting hissing sound or kinda of static sound when plating music. But when paired with my other phones i donr have such problem.

Check out the LG-HBS-700-Bluetooth. I'm too noob to post a link... sorry.
You can try these. They are extremely comfortable... High geek factor which could be either good or bad... They sound great... About $70

i got these SE HBH-IS800 and i don't regret the money i spent on them.
stereo BT, very light, and excellent audio quality in music and calls.
i'm a fan of stereo bluetooth headsets and i tried a few:
Motorola HT820s
Motorola S9
SE HBH-DS970
Plantronics Voyager 855
but SE I800 are the best of what i tried so far.
I have been using Nokia BH-905 for some time.
Gives excellent sound quality! A bit costly though, but comes with active noise cancellation.
This is another one, Motorola ROKR S9–HD

May i ask how the battery life of the SE HBH-IS800? and how is the sound quality?
I own a MW600 and i also experience the hissing sounds.. Has anyone found a solution for it yet?
I find the se mw600 with too much treble and hiss when listening to music when used with my htc mozart 7, got rid of it, but i still use a stereo bt head set made by sony, which is listed in my sig, used it for about 5years now and the battery is still going.

with medium calls and 1 hour of music per day it gets me up to 5-6 days.

[Q] bluetooth stereo headset compatibility?

has anyone tried A2DP bluetooth headset with controls?
I just found this nokia bh-111 copy on dealextreme:
http://goo.gl/3vw3b
Looks good for the price, but i would only buy it if the playback controls are compatible and mic works.
Has anyone tried something like this?
I have an Omnia 7 if that matters.
I am using Motorola s605 A2DP headset with my Optimus 7 without issues . Playback controls switches tracks, pauses, stops and microphone works during calls as well.
I think you will have no problems with Nokia headset.
I know that of the standard is supported, it should work, but these particular ones are a nokia KNOCK OF so i am wary.
Thanks for the answer though, i'll probably buy it and hope for the best
looks like very good
