[ROM] Change the perfected SPL HBOOT 1.33.0010 to 1.33.0009

Hi all,
Finally today I got my hands on two RUU_Sapphire: Singapore ROM and Indonesia ROM with S=OFF!
For those who have been looking for ways to root HBOOT 1.33.0010, this might be your ticket.
My HTC Magic initially was HBOOT 1.33.0010 and did not come with any Google applications (no Android Market either). After update, it is now running with HBOOT 1.33.0009 and all Google applications are there including the Android Market. Exchange sync is also available.
Steps that I did:
1. You must have the HTC Sync software installed and working before running the RUU application.
2. Turn phone on and connect to computer with USB cable.
3. Run RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.53.707.2_SEA_test_signed_NoDriver.exe. This turned the S=ON to S=OFF. Follow instruction to Update ROM.
4. Phone will reboot.
3. Run RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.16.707.3_SG_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
I uploaded both RUU in RapidShare. Could someone pls download and re-host the files elsewhere coz RapidShare only allows 10 downloads of each files.

Seems like a much simpler way to get past the "Perfected SPL".
Running these steps will make the MyTouch 3G as simple to root as any other 32B right?

AFAIK..this for 32A, don;t know if it will work on 32B

As lesjaw pointed out, this is only for 32A board. I believe MyTouch 3G uses 32B board.

Is this what i need to do to be able to change get root access and flash new roms? Makes me afraid when the exe files says asia...

I can confirm that mine had the same HBOOT, PVT, and date. Not sure about the CLPD and Radio version.

Does this mean that once SPL changed........we can just pop in any modified ROm from this forum (including hero) and update ...essentially it will be rooted???

soo wierd, i got same cpld and radio and spl but i get an Error: Customer ID-Error or something like that after the program uploaded the update file
EDIT: Think i got it to work! Just needed to change SD to a Gold Carded...

What RUU file did you use? I have the exact same version as you do/did, but it won't let me. Is it because I have an Europe version? (Asia in filename)

It Seems as if your going to need your Magic Original RUU (Vodafone), place it on your sd card shut off your phone and reboot holding volume down and power button to enter fastboot and reflash the original RUU to your phone. Hopefully you can enter fast boot, and hopefully you can find the Magic Original RUU (Vodafone) somewhere on xda or somewhere on the internet. Or maybe you just need the Magic Original RUU (Vodafone) and HTC Sync to get the job done. hope this helps, but this is what I would do next. my gold card does not work. nobody can create RUU for magic 32B vodaphone. i really need your help.

if adb device shows the serial number, you should be fine. just go into recovery and flash another ROM

Try call to techsupport.
This is a very big problem, when you flashed 32A-related SPL to your 32B-device. Cause 32B-devices don't have any RUU-updates.

i try it today

See if you can flash the T-Mobile MyTouch3G .NBH to your device over fastboot. If you can do that, then try and go back the long way to root that rom and get rid of the perfect SPL it will flash.
Its a long road to travel, but it will get you back a usable device.

is starting to make me wizzy...
I've currently been rooted for over 4 months now... first with cyanogen
then moved over to SUPER D... And iv been following that ROM since v1.2

My advice to you is, whichever one boots, you flash
fastboot boot nameoftherecovery.img
If it boots, flash it. Flashing recovery images is very safe, so don't sweat it.
Don't ask in a dev forum next time

if you flash the needed spl and every have to send in to warranty... when u unroot the spl goes back to the original...

Have you tried this yourself? I can't see how flashing an spl would automatically be able to revert back to a previous version.

I have the EXACT same readout as you, and I am able to flash EVERY ROM there is, the 0006 SPL is fine, dont change it

i think ENG (engineering) S-OFF (SECURITY OFF) is what they mean, you have an engineering spl.If you want to return to unrooted magic you need to flash an original sappimg.NBH which you can find all over these forums

rooting your phone is voiding the warranty;
thats why they have Guides to unroot incase anything goes wrong
so you will be able to return it without them knowing anything about voiding ur warranty...
as far as flashing or not flashing your spl... i cant help you out there.
but from my experience in reading and what im currently running.
flashing the spl makes it possible to flash anyrom, etc.
i never flashed super d rom until i flashed my spl. so i wouldnt know if it works without it.
i have been running super d since 1.0xx or 1.2 fersure.
now if u do flash ur spl which in my expreience if running super d is a defiant yes. you make sure you fllash the correct one!...
if your running a mt3g and need further assistance on getting correct downloads, ill point you in the right direction..

Thanks for the support. I've already found out that my .0006 is already an ENG spl, and I do not need to flash it to load custom ROMs. I have already tried SuperD, Fastest, Kingklick's, Cyanogen, MLIGN, and Enomther's ROMs. All work. After testing all these ROMs from Android 1.5 to 1.6 to 2.1, I am still looking for the perfect ROM.
I want something that is fast and stable as 1.6 ROMs, which have 1.) all the functionality as stock, 2.)has the Hero htc widgets, dialer, and facebook sync. If anyone know where I can find this PLEASE let me know. I keep running into pros and cons with each ROM, and just need to stick with something already.

your looking for a stable rom..
so whatever rom you choose make sure iits a stable rom...
and as far as pros/cons
just take note that with every ROM theres ganna be NEW RELEASES.
out of every rom, i suggest super d rom.
never any forcloses.., never any issues..
now i havent ran cyanogen for alongtime, never since i switchd to super d.
but i recommend him as 2nd choice in roms. but recommend him 1st in knowing what he knows.. he's the only dev. that i know and have seen thats ahead of the game, and knows the game. hands down.
im honestly awaiting a 2.1 STABLE release with no errors.
but thats still far from being developed...

I need to know what is the procedure to upgrade the ROM?
because i'm finded here, procedures to 32A H, 32B G, but not to 32B H.
So, i'm confused about What I will use, and after that, What ROM can I chose? H/G? 32A/32B?
Please, Help, I'm trying and trying to find a solution to upgrade that device.

What is the device? A HTC Magic, T-Mobile MyTouch 3G (v1), T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Limited Edition, or MT3G v1.2 (headphone jack).
Can't really give you any direction without knowing what the brand/model of the phone is, just o make sure we're not giving you advice that would automatically brick your phone.
For example on my fender there's only one real way to root it, which requires installing an engineering SPL, which turns it into a 32B/H, but then once you flash the correct radio/hboot/recovery onto it, it reverts back to being a 32A/G.

Assuming you haven't already accidentally flashed the wrong SPL on it, you should be able to flash a 32B Engineering SPL (2005) in order to fix the perfected ROM, and grab the RAmon-Recovery 1.62H. But its a Magic 32B which is pretty common (despite H or G), though haven't seen a 3.xx radio on a 32B though...
Probably wait to see if someone follows up on the thread.

Whoa, you better read up on that one, I mean it, it has a DVT board not the PVT be very careful. Most all bricked I believe.

Based on the new information provided, look for a thread specifically dedicated to the DVT boards. The only thing I can really find in google about DVT is that its seen on G1 boards, and that most standard instructions would brick it.

It's the link in my signature, notice how "Rooted" is a hyperlink?
In short:
1) Make a goldcard
2) flash the engineering 2010 SPL
3) flash the stock radio/hboot and 1.6.2G recovery provided in the thread
4) boot into Recovery, flash the rooted stock rom from the provided zip
At the current moment only the stock 1.6 rom works, there are no fully working custom roms yet until either T-Mobile releases an OTA update for 2.1, or until HTC releases the kernel source.

Help please: Challenge to solve bricked magic problem

My Voda Magic stuck in RUU screen. I can see my device through fastboot devices command however I'm not able to see it through ''adb devices'' command.
Since ADB is not working I can not use the recovery screen either. All the RUU roms I've tried (I think I've tried all the available RUU Roms) stuck in unzipping system files (usually at %81).
I've followed all the tutorials on the site but most of them are using adb commands and I'm not able to use ADB Shell anymore. I've downloaded latest SDK and drivers but still no solution. By the way I'm using Windows 7.
I'm ready to donate (50 USD) the friend who may solve this problem.

SAPPHIRE PVT32A SHIP S-ON H (The original was 32B but somehow it turned in to 32A)

Dude, it is very important to know what's your Magic. 32A or 32B
And it's imposible to change 32A to 32B (32B to 32A) with programm, cause it's version of motherboard
If your Magic is exactly 32A, you must:
- test fastboot mode (Turn off, turn on by pressing Back + Power)
- test command "fastboot devices" in fastboot mode
- create goldcard (if you want install other ROM)
- run this RUU Update with goldcard inside and in fastboot-mode if you want get root

And another question. Do you use original cable?

yep, if you get fastboot then you're not bricked. The RUU as mentioned will get you back to a good point. It does make your heart stop when that happens...

My Magic is definately a 32B but it turned in to 32A after sappimg upload. I'm not able to use any of the button combination. It only opens RUU page and thats all. Fastboot devices on command promt shows my serial number. But if I give the adb devices command it can not detect my phone.

With that SPL your only chance is the RUU mentioned above.
Next time verify that the procedure you are about to use is for the 32B Magic.

Another strange thing is that hboot is changing everytime I use a different RUU Rom. Like 1.76.0009-0007-0010 etc.

I don't think that you have 32B in the past! It's ver5sion of motherboard and it can not be changed by sappimg r anything else. Only techcenter can change motherboard!

I didn't realize Vodaphone had a 32A model too. ?

Your right. All the Vodaphone Magics are 32B. But the stupid me have been able to turn it in to 32A.

All? Hey, what's about Portugal, Greece, Romania, Czech magics? They are vodafone, but they are 32A.
