Where is Res to find wallpapers? - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

Hello. I was wondering where in a rom I would find the wallpapers for it. I like the wallpaper on the MyTouch rom and the jachero2.3 builds and got to thinking. I wanted to pull from all and make wallpapers available with all the other resources. Where in a rom can I extract wallpapers from Thanks. Found the sounds already.

shouldnt this be in theming?
go to framework_res.apk. then in the drawable folder in there.

Trying to decode and find. I have been there and can only find just the loaded default not from the gallery ones. Those are what I am looking for.

default is in framework-res, gallery ones are in lancher.apk -> drawable

A few theming questions

Hello,
first of all I love the Desire Rom by Paul. I only want to modify the "taskbar" graphics at the bottom of the display. Do you know in which .apk I will find them?
Do you already knwo where i can find the wallpapers in the rom, f.eg. the blue travel wallpaper?
Thanks and regards
donner
framework-res.apk for the notification bar, and alot of other stuff is in there aswell. Try making a morph to start with, it's alot easier. You can even download someone elses, open all the files and if you have a little bit of computer knowlege teach yourself from there.
wallpaper
and where are the wallpapers? they are not in the framework-res.apk
If you're looking for the graphics on the bottom on sense these are located in a seperate .apk on all the desire roms i've seen that is next to the framework-res.apk normally called something like com.htc.desire or something similar
Isn't it rosie.apk?
Most of HTC's stuff is in rosie.apk
Definitely go for a metamorph theme.
Metamorph allows you to specify only a few PNGs, XMLs etc that will be updated within the targeted apk.
On NON-Desire roms, wallpapers are in the launcher.
So yeah, maybe Rosie.apk

HELP: Making Animated Wallpaper

Im looking to make animated wallpaper for the HD2 but trying to figure out were do I start. I know there has been a few people here making them but the stuff I've seen isn't what im looking to do.
I'm looking for something in the Nexus One range, but without it being LIVE, just animated. While browsing the HD2 animated walls, there is only 3 and they are .png. Animated .pngs. When I load a .png as a animated wallpaper, it doesnt animate, just stays on the first frame. So my question is, what else is the HD2 doing to make the walls animate?
I started having a look at this too..
The pngs aren't animated. They act as the background for the animation wallpaper... the actual animations are run by a scripted manila file (don't ask me which one, I did find a thread with the details of this script but you'll have to search for it) and a bunch of manila files for the pngs.
The scripted file tells the manila pngs how to "animate" i.e which directions they go, sizes, speed etc. You can edit the script to change the "animations" and also change the manila pngs for pngs of your choice.
You'll need to get the scripted file and the relevant manila files from your windows folder on your device. If you do a search for animated wallpapers on the forum there's a few threads telling you which files are needed and how to edit them. CFC editor/M9 Editor etc
hope that helps and best of luck
edit: have a look at this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6335350#post6335350 or do a search for animated wallpapers in the forum

[Q] Add walls to Launcher2?

Hey guys,
I loathe swiping through my gallery (lousy with hundreds of pages of album/ebook cover art) to get to my Wallpaper album, then resizing the crop as best I can, and repeating the same process next month when I want to try another wall.
What I'd like to do is just add a bunch of wallpapers to the drawable-xlarge-nodpi folder in my Launcher2.apk so they'll show up in the stock wallpaper picker.
I've selected a bunch of 1920x1408 walls and made "blahblah_small" 180x180 versions (I'd like thumbnails to show up in the picker). I tried using Zipthemer to create a CWM-installable updated Launcher2 to include these changes, but just can't seem to figure it out.
I've also tried renaming to .zip, unzipping, adding the walls, rezipping, renaming to .apk and pushing that, but Android won't install the .apk. Do I need to delete the META-INF signatures folder and figure out some way to sign the .apk? Can I sign an apk w/o the SDK?
I know Roach has that extra wallpaper in Prime (nigh version of the Asus default wall), so basically, how did he do that?
Also, the default wallpapers are in drawable-large-nodpi, the Asus default (tree scene) is in drawable-xlarge-nodpi. The xlarge-nodpi folder has no META-INF stuff, so I figured if I threw the wallpapers in there, the picker would just show them.

[Q] Add pics to stock-wallpaper-folder

Hi!
I am wondering how u can add pictures so that they can be viewed/added from the stock HTC wallpapers?
I mean... when u are changing wallpaper, u can choose from gallery, HTC wallpapers or live wallpapers.. And I'd like to add some custom wallpapers in "HTC wallpaper". I think the wallpapers are locaded in system/customize/resource? But I guess that "drag and drop"/copy & paste won't work...
Do I need to do xml and stuff or what?
Anyone who knows?

Click to collapse
Hi,
You cannot see the the jpeg. on your phone.
Try opening the ROM zip(don't unzip it),navigating to system/customize/resource,and press "ADD" on your winrar toolbar.
Make sure your jpeg. is in the same folder as your ROM,and just add them...

Looking for Launcher apk and images in Android M preview.

I was really big on themeing via flashable zips back in the Galaxy Nexus days. Been away from it for a long time, but I still remember how to do most of it.
I got my framework and all that good stuff, but I can't seem to find the launcher apk in the new M preview. Did they move the launcher drawable files into the framework itself or something? I want to change the app drawer and such to make myself a dark theme.
Let me know what I'm missing.
Thanks!
