Microsoft Voice Command - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Heyhey,
Although there are a few threads on this which I have googled my way through, none of them seemed relevant, or looked way out of date.
I have Microsoft Voice Command installed, and it used to work just fine. Now however, I press the button on my bluetooth helmet, or my bluetooth car kit... nothing happens. A long press results in redialing the last person I called.
Voice command does work if I press and hold the button on the phone itself, but this isn't very practical (if at all possible) on my bike.
Was just wondering if there is a way to make it work again? Perhaps there is a way to remap a long press on the bluetooth device to activate MSVC?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks a lot,
Chris

its short press for me. really short press. if i press for about a second on my headset it redials last number, if i press it for less its voice command.

Thanks for the reply =]
Unfortunatly it's a no go for me with that one. But was worth a shot!

It really depends on the headset. I've heard of people having problems before, and they usually are due to assigning Voice Command to something other than long-press of the Send key.
Try placing Voice Command back in its 'original' place and press your headset again.

Thanks all for the replies.
It now works with my handsfree in my car (I reflashed with a different ROM, and it seems to get on better).
The bluetooth helmet still doesn't accept voice commands, but I'm starting to think it's a limitation of the helmet, rather than something wrong with my phone.
Thanks anyway.

What Brand/Make of helmet do you own? I was looking at a bluetooth enable helmet, but if it isn't compatible with voice dialing, I'll probably look elsewhere.
Thanks.

Hiya,
Its the Viper RS V121 Blue 2 helmet. You can intercom via bluetooth if the pillion also has the same helmet which is pretty cool - although it is not a quiet helmet for anything above 50mph!
Still cant make it work through voice by using the button on the helmet though.

bonding xda2 and bt headset

been busy with work so this is actually my first free time to personalize my xda2. i'm almost done but what's puzzling me is the bluetooth configuration.
i followed the instructions for both the xda2 and jabra headset for bonding. no problems so far but what's puzzling me is how to use the headset now that they're bonded. i tried testing it by pressing on the headset once...but no 2 blips sounded. or by activating the media player, but still no luck.
what am i doing wrong or am i not doing something which i'm supposed to?
thanks for any help you can give
robson
headset profile is only for phone usage. u can't use it for anything else. i have hbh-65 and as long as headset is on and call comes in it goes to bluetooth and rings
alex
hey thanks! and all the while i thought i was doing something wrong. do i leave the bluetooth setting mode to "on"? and when a call comes in, the phone rings and i can hear it immediately through the bt headset? do i need to press any buttons on the headset to activate it or is it automatic (i can answer right away)?
i guess i got used to having the bluetooth adaptor plugged to my old xda that i'm still looking for those 2 blips whenever i depress the bt headset button.
cheers

answered my own question
hey kalex, please disregard my previous post; i guess i just answered my own inquiries about the blue tooth bonding thing by using my landline and calling my mobile. the bt works great between the phone and the headset; when the mobile rang it immediately sounded off in my headset; just needed to press the button once to activate it. thanks a bunch!
cheers mate
robson
hey kalex or whoever can help out; the bluetooth headset works well when the phone rings and i take the call. however; how do you use the bt headset when you want to make an outgoing call?
cheers
robson
man, you really need to read the manual.
As the manual states, the jabra headset supports voice dialing.... only by default the XDA-II does not. You'd need to look at the various voice dial packages and see about getting that to work with the headset.... I dont fancy your chances... on the other hand maybe someone has already done this?
sorry dude; like i said i was a little busy with work so you'll have to pardon my excitement of fooling around with the xda...not to mention skipping the part about the manual
cheers mate

I recently got an xda 2 and am buying a jabra 250. i presume that i'll need some voice software to make this totally hands free. or is this not the case.
any comments welcome :?:
I think the voice dial and headset issue is down to the headset BT profile that the XDA-II has plus the voice dial software supporting it.....
its muddy as hell, maybe someone else has a better idea. If I were you I'd find the voice dial software (there is plenty about) and then ask the authors for their recommendations.
voice software
Hello,
I can only say "me to" - I have HDW-2 Nokia headset but still looking for the voice software. I have tryied MS voice and I can say - forget the Microsoft voice - it is only dialing 7 or 10 digits numbers and trying to recognize the names - as most of my entries have non english names it does not work at all. I would rather have simple dialing digit-by-digit or nokia style recognition of the voice marks.

okay, we had both thursday and friday off as holidays here in thailand; which gave me enough time to finally read the manual cover to cover. and i still have a question; you guys will have to forgive me but i need to clarrify something.
when receiving a call the sound is automatically directed to the bt headset. i can either manually accept the call or use the "answer call after this number of rings" function. no problems there so far.
my question goes back to making a call using the bt headset without the aid of any voice dial apps. when you dial a number and send it; can the bt headset still be used? or is it purely for incoming calls? i read the manual (both for the xda2 and the bt headset) and it doesn't say anything about this.
you'll have to excuse my persistence as i really don't know the answer to this one. neither the manuals nor the devices show the answer. perhaps some friendly chaps from the site can help as well?
cheers

just try it! You have to use that little green button to make the call, but then the call is treansferred to the headset.

ah, after a little more research in the forum based from your response; i finally got the bonding issue nailed to the ground! what i did was delete the bond between the xda2 and the bt; i then rebonded them and now it's working properly. cheers!

How to make wired headset button start Voice Command

I've searched everywhere but cant find a solution to this: I bought the HTC wired usb headset for the Tilt. With Cyberon voicedial, the button on the headset would activate the app and worked perfectly. As I prefer MS Voice Command, I then went ahead and uninstalled Voicedial and installed VC, but button doesnt work now. Anyone know how to remap the headset button to voice command?
Try this reg, should do it.
Thanks, I'll give it a try...what changes does it make?
Sometimes after installing MS Voice Command you need to do a reset once or twice before the BT headset is reconized properly. (battery out and back in...) And, some BT headsets don't work well at all. MS's BT driver set has a history of being bad.
I think you misread my post...I was asking about the WIRED headset, not the BT one.
okay my question is that the software that came with my tilt- voice dail thing, cyberon will only work if I activate it by clicking the icon, however, I can't start it with a BT headset that I have, can anyone help?
well first fo all did you even activate it for you to use it?

[Q]Voice dialing with stock headphones

Hi, has anyone been able to do anything with the button on the stock hads-free headphones that came in the package?
Right now all i can do is click the button once and answer calls or double click to call the last number.
I want to, for example, hold it and activate voice dialing or MS Voice command.
Maybe I missed something.
Come on people what does that stupid heaphones button do on your diamond??
Looks like redialling and hanging up is all the thing can do. I was a bit miffed about that too, but then I don't use the wired headphones that much.
HTC has for sale another set of headphones which allow you to control the music player, and also use regular headphones (don't remember if 2,5 or 3.5 jack). They are available in Romania.

Bluetooth Voice Commands not working

I am using AOPK 4.12 and when trying to initate voice commands via my Bluetooth device I am having some trouble. Voice Dialer pops up when I push the talk button on my Bluetooth headset, but it doesn't pick up my voice at all. I have tried Cyberon Voice Command app, and another bluetooth headset. Am I missing something, doing something wrong? I've been trying to fix this for days and figured it was finally time to ask for assistance.
Thanks for any ideas or info you can give me =).

unfortunately with jellybean, voice commands no longer use the Bluetooth microphone. Instead, only the phone's mic will pick up your voice, even when connected to a Bluetooth device (headset, car, etc.)
I really wish this wasn't the case as I just got a Bluetooth mic for my car and its now useless.. There's no fix at the moment
I just recently bought a new camry and one of the things I noticed was that malluuba would never get to the sound wave after I hit the mic while connected to my car. By going into the Bluetooth settings and un checking media audio, it will begin working for me. If you are just using the Bluetooth mic to make calls and such, just do that as a temporary work around.

Are there any 4.2.2 ROMs out there? I read somewhere this issue might be fixed then.
I have a bluetooth headset and am running mastamoon's unofficial CM10.1 ROM. It is still sometimes wiggy, although it works better than official CM10.1. I am able to speak commands to google search after hitting the microphone icon on the phone. Is there a way to do this without having to press a button on the phone? An app maybe? I haven't had the bluetooth headset for very long.

[Q] How do I get Google Voice recognition to work with bluetooth media audio enabled?

Hi,
I've got an interesting problem and was hoping someone here knows the solution.
I'm running CleanRom 5.6 on my Galaxy S3 I use the built in Android swyping keyboard, and it in turn uses Google Voice recognition. I like it because it shows what it is typing as I say it, versus Swype's delayed typing of voice recognized text.
Here is the problem. If my Jawbone bluetooth headset is set to media audio, then the Google Voice red button never turns red, and I can't use it. If I a) turn Bluetooth off then it works, or B) if I turn off media audio to Bluetooth while leaving call audio enabled, then the voice recognition works.
But all of this is a pain in the ass, and I'd really like to be able to use the Google voice recognition with Bluetooth and media audio left on.
So far the only kluge fix I have found is to hit the volume up or down key on the phone, which for some reason, instantly activates the magic red button. This is better than what some people suggest, turning on the Touch Sounds (which makes an annoying noise every time you touch the screen.)
Has anyone figured out a workaround for this problem? Please don't tell me to turn media audio off, as I use it a lot to listen to podcasts. Maybe there's a hacked version of the android keyboard that I could use. Or perhaps it is something in CleanRom, although I doubt it.
Believe it or not, I do a lot of writing on my phone and would really like to fix this problem. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for starting this thread, hopefully someone figures it out and responds, but your question has already been helpful to me:victory: I only use voice typing when I am in the car, with the phone connected to the bluetooth radio for media only, so I didnt even realize it only occurred in that situation, plus I intend to try your volume trick as well.:fingers-crossed: Previously, I had to start-cancel-start-cancel-start until it would work. Not exactly hands-free.
I also run Clean Rom, specifically CleanRom 6.0 R2. I also had it on my previous version of CleanRom, so it might be worthwhile to try a different rom flavor entirely, and see if the problem is still there. If anyone has this problem that is not on CleanRom, speak up!

Yup, I have the same issue. Plantronics BT earpiece with Media and Voice. Cleanrom 5.6 R2.
Volume rocker switch trick works, but, that really isn't a good alternative for car operation.
