Hello everyone, just joined, first time poster and relatively new to the scene. So please, in this aspect, I am a newb.
I have managed to follow the guides to convert my elfin from winmo 6.0 to 6.1 and am running onyx ultimate and am happy. There is one exception, my work uses an app that can only be installed on winmo 6.1 and after trying to install it and having it fail a couple of times, I realized something.
The ROM that I am using has had the SQLCE Mobile component removed. When I realized this, I downloaded from M$ website, the latest version (3.5), and again ran into troubles. From what I could decipher, I tried to use (3.0) and got farther, but still ran into problems.
Are there any other dependency issues or components that would accompany SQLCE that were removed in the Onyx release? I am so close, and would love it, if someone could assist.
Cheers,
Bob

Hello all,
I'm totally new to this so please be a little patient with me.
Last week I bought a second hand HTC Touch Cruise. After playing a while and learning hoe to use I noticed some discrepancies between the software and the manual.
In ROM settings I found:
Released at XDA-developers.com
Polaris (Build 0.60)
(c)2007 bepe @ Polaris Project
Thanks to: maimach, ...
Edition: Full
ROM date: 17.03.2008
Build time: 15:11:29
My questions:
1. So this is not an original Windows Mobile 6.1?
2. Should I upgrade this, if yes: how?
3. I'm missing the Windows Live Messenger
4. I totally do not like the Opera Browser, but this seams fixed and automatically being used
5. Windows Update is gone; do I miss something there
6. Is it possible to go back to the original Windows? And what would I miss with that?
Thanks for your patience, and hopefully someone can guide me through this.
Greetings,

Yes, you have a custom version of Windows Mobile installed on your device. HTC has not yet released a Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM for the Touch Cruise yet. From factory, they all come with Windows Mobile 6.0 installed. The factory version has Pocket IE setup as the default browser, along with Opera 8.65 installed. Also, the factory version does not have threaded SMS and zooming in IE, since those are features of WM6.1, not WM6.0. If I were in your shoes, I'd keep the Bepe ROM just a little while longer as the official HTC WM6.1 release should (fingers crossed) be here any day now. I'd upgrade to that, instead of going back the the official WM6.0 ROM at this point only to upgrade to the official ROM when its released shortly.
Also, you might want to go to Opera.com and download the Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta. Its a much improved browser akin to the iPhone Safari experience.
Hello,
Thanks for your advice.
Yes, I will wait.
I installed the Opera 9.5beta, but I still get the problem of extreme miniaturized webpages, so I will stick to IE for now.
What about Live Messenger? I cannot get int from the Microsoft site. Is it available here?
Thanks, Arnie
Hi -- the legwork for all your questions has already been completed -- try out the forum search feature, it works very well.

Do some browsing around these forums and you'll discover a lot. A search for Live messenger cab will reveal some download links. Double tapping on the screen will zoom in when using Opera Mobile 9.5. Double tapping again will zoom you back out.
Hi all,
i've just updated my O2 XDA Orbit 2 from WM6.0 to WM6.1 via the official rom upgrade from the O2 website.
Everything ran normally however now when I try and do any gesture on the touch screen I get...
We're Sorry....
A problem has occurred with Biotouch.exe
Is Biotouch.exe not compatible with 6.1 or something? How do I fix this issue as I miss using my HTC cube and email account switching.
Over 60 views and no one can help me?
I'm assuming this is to do with the WM6.1 upgrade, I'm also using the Manilla TouchFlo2D Beta as well (perhaps that has something to do with the crashing?)
It worked fine (with the same installs) on WM6.0, and TouchFlo2D seems to be working fine with WM6.1, its just biotouch that isnt working.
Am I the only one suffering from this problem?!?!?!?!
Not even one post to say maybe try this, or try that? or it works fine on my XDA Orbit 2?
How about someone just acknowledge this post!
just say hi or something....
getting P*ssed off with the lack of help
my orbit2 came with 6.1 already on it.got in march this year.have you phoned o2 tech department ?.
Perhaps you should try searching instead of getting pissed off that no one is answering your question.
There have been issues with the gestures causing crashes with Manila 2D in 6.1. I specifically remember swiping in Outlook to go from one email account to the next (or one email to the next). There is a fix for it somewhere. See if you have any issues with Biotouch/gestures on the plain WM6.1 ROM without installing M2D. It could very well be the culprit. If so check out M2D related threads to see how to resolve this, a newer version or a fix.
Hello all
We have been forced into upgrading our hardware from the Qtek 2020i/HTC P6500 to the Vodafone V1615 (HTC Kaiser) for our nursing staff, the PDAs are used to run a specific application which runs fine on the old models, strangely enough it also works on the Kaisers that have WM6.0 OS.
I do however have 20 PDAs that are running WM6.1, the application will not run on these, I am looking to downgrade a test model back to WM6.0 and was wondering if someone has a WM6.0 ROM I could get hold of.
I hope someone can help with this "little" problem
TIA
Damian Byrne
Update
It appears the application is working now until it attempts to load visit details when it falls over, I am assuming this may be due to the .net version on the PDA. I am going to try and get older .net (cf) versions installed onto the PDA
I have a hx4700 running on Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I've never upgraded it in any form.
I am keen to upgrade to WM 6.x. I have been reading alot of the threads.
Can anyone help me to upgrade my hx4700? What is the latest/best version to use. There seems to be more than one version, some apps work on some and not the others ie WiFi. Some of the threads are quite old. Is there a lastest download where all the glitches have been ironed out?
I thank you in advance .

you can find more by using search and type in hx4700
Hi!
I only found one but it seems to run then I get a black window with some LED like icons and thats all...from what I have found it was not designed to run on 6.5 so I am hoping someone have found a way or perhaps there is another one capable of doing so?
Thanks
PocketUAE
The only Amiga Emulator I have ever found is PocketUAE, available from SourceForge. I'm not sure if (a) this is the one you've already tried, and if not, (b) if its compatible with WinMo 6.5 or not.
The last version was done in 2006 so its quite old, and I personally have never tried it on my HD2 although it does work on my old HD (Blackstone) running 6.1.
Not sure if its any help to you or not, but here's the link

Moved as not software release.
