Hi guys I'm new here, sorry if i may have posted in the wrong section but i do feel it's the most appropriate. And i did read the rules about making a new topic as well.
Anyway I just got my Touch Pro today and having problem with changing the language. My dad bought it for me from Taiwan and I can read mandarin/chinese fine but i prefer to be in english.
I did some Google search and apparently you can't change the language of the phone due to the rom or something?? I think it's stupid coz every fone i owned be4 can change languages. In fact, this is the first time i've seen and used a fone that doesn't let u change the language and it's quite disappointing.
Anyway, I still wanna use chinese when i type, but i mainly want english overall. Is there a way to keep both??
If it's not possible, can someone please show me how to change it to full english then?

you will need to flash your pro with an english Rom.
before you do i suggest you search the forums more
to start goto:

then select any rom according to your phone (GSM or CDMA) so do lots of search and reading first that is my advise to you and good luck.

Ok it seems that if your phone doesn't have a sim card slot, it's CDMA, but some other guy told me that his phone is CDMA but has a sim card slot, so what's going on??

i am thinking of purchasing an italian qtek s100 - because it is cheaper than other language versions on expansys for some reason - and since i don't speak a word of italian, wanted to flash english rom to it and i wanted to find out i that is possible before i went on with the purchase.
but oh boy,,, there are simply too much infomation here!!!
i spent an hour searching through, but stil not sure how to get this done.
none of the links seem to work and too many posts say flashing is failing.

Well, to start off with, you haven't even told us what phone you have. If you look on the main page of the forum you can see which one relates to your phone.
Once there, you chose the right place to ask and then, well, what exactly do you want it to be like? Can you be more specific?
Perhaps once you've found the right place to post, then people in that forum can help you more than I can here....
Alternatively, you can go out and get a LG KS20 but that wouldn't be in the whole HTC spirit would it

Looking at the youtube link you provided (pl.youtube.com) it would seem that you're from Poland. If i'm right, you might have more luck finding some useful info around Polish PocketPC forums, for example:

If not, try searching for some forums in your language. Actually, after learning some basics about pocketPC's, navigating xda-developers will get much easier, even with less than perfect skills in English.

If you have KS20 that menu should be there, unless if not, do a search for KS20 Plugin. Its posted somewhere on this forum.

i have not been on the smartphone/htc scene for like few months now but recently i smashed my kaiser II and orange supplied me a new one so theres like a simlock on it and of course i cant upgrade the software on it to orignal htc kaiser
i cannot remember what i did last time so ive forgotten it all all i remember is paying to unlock it n thats it so im realy lost ive tried reading but its totaly confusing me
all im askin for is a some links to where i can
a. take the sim lock thing off
b. and install a original kaiser rom so the orange system goes off it

Please spend some time to look. They are all over the place. If you don't have time to look then it cannot be that important... Why make people look for you?

You really should read the 1st post on here it would answer all your questions. I am no tech but please dont annoy those that give so much time and effort to this site for the benefit of us all, just for the sake of 30mins reading. Good luck the answers are out there.

I have my HTC touch pro for 1 week now, and I'd like to get another theme/skin on it( now I have the ugly Vodafone branded red clock etc.)
I've read about it here, and I've selected a skin that I liked. Unfortunately, I haven't got a clue how to put this on my phone.
Can someone help me with this. I've used the search option but I couldn't find anything clear enough for me (I'm quite a noob regarding this kind of stuff)

I don't want to demotivate but motivate to search and read. When you give directly a helping link, they stay doing it.
Seeing every time new opened threads from newbies with every time the same silly questions, that's very demotivating for us, the people who supposed to help you. So, we can shoose, saying nothing more or trying to teach you how a forum works. I prefer the last thing... And if somebody like me (the bad one) point you in the right direction, it's not for beeing bad, but for getting a better usefull forum. You can see in my posthistory that it's really multiple times a day that new useless threads were opened...
Normally it's a work for the moderators, but they also have a live and can not be always here, because also them are doing this as a hobby. Be all glad that I don't be one of them or it was the same comment and also closing the thread directly.
I take some time for this post because I can quote him for futur use when I get comments again from not-readers, not-searchers, new-post-openers and silly-question-posters...
If you have really followed my posts, you know that I help a lot when the rules are followed a bit...
And do you know why I can help others? Because I read a lot...

And it gets worse and worse every day. Before there were only WM-users who were able to work with it. More and more the usual users buy a htc and always the same problems are passing here...

I'm from Belgium. Here we speak Dutch, French and a bit German. Most of my English I've learned here and on the internet in general by reading and even now at the moment my online Google translator is opened... So no excuse for that...
But even with the exact words it's difficult to find the right thread or post if you're searching something. And that was not a problem about 2 years ago. That's started with all the new users now. It takes a little work, but if everybody does a little effort, this forum can be a strong instrument again...
Before htc was only buyed by people who were really interested. Now htc is a more commercial product. People buy it and thereafter they can not work with it. They are not interested, they just want that it works. So they don't read, don't search... They just want an instant solution or link for there problem... Result: 100's questions of the same type... It's really demotivating for people who love there device and want to learn and share knowledge here...
I really hope that mods can do something at that, but i'm afraid it's a hopeless situation. I'm allready happy if I can prevent somebody of opening a second useless thread, even the first one is allready one to much...
Yes i agree with koen-ronse, but problem is when man something search, have so much found undetermined result...newbie have problem. E.G. type "MMS error" , you have got about 5000 post results...And what doing that ! Read all 5000 posts ??? But it dosent your thing, it is something for Admin and Mods...Must something better make with "Search button". We "oldie WM-er" have search problem, how about "newbie" ??? Very hardly...
