this patch makes the camera MUCH better on the xda2i, the difference is quite amazing. It takes away all the blue noise and the white dots. ive uploaded it below.
All this has taken away from my XDA2i is the camera function from the camera hardware button, the camera shortcut away from programs and the ability to use the camera. Whenever I try and use it now it says failed to initialise.
This patch is for the JAM ie Magician...are you sure this also works on the 2i?
Cheers
Anthony
Anyone had a similar experience to Anton?
Anyone who tries, I not saying it won't work, but make sure you do a backup first cos I hadn't for a bit and had to hard reset. Fortunately I'm a wiz at reinstalling again and again and again
I think I might create a backup with all programs installed etc at base level and keep it safe. I wasn't able to uninstall the cam update and get back to normal...it just kept crashing.
Cheers

Haha, yeah, after a soft boot you are fuc.... I am happy i have sprite backup!!!
ye sorry for tht.
I will get it sorted.
Ill release a new cab file of my own tomorrow, i should get it sorted.
i cant stand having a poor camera. lol.
keep us posted mate....I ain't got me xda 2i yet but i'm preparing like a groom does before the wedding!
Nice one mate, if you can find out what is causing it and how you solved it, I'd be interested in knowing what was causing the problem.
Would someone please be so kind as to post a picture using the new patch, and also what the setting was etc (ie Auto, Daylight).
Cheers
Anthony

will this camera patch work on xdaII?? tnx!
HIGHLY doubtful. It's not even fully working between JAM and XDA2i, the XDA2 camera program utilises entirely different hardware as well.
will it work on XDA IIs?
Yo S1nn
Any news?
speak as I find, i've found the xda2i pic quality ok. I'm wondering as my xda2i is only a week old if i have updated firmware or something ? Where do i find my camera software version and what version has everyone been having issues with ?
malty

im having slight trouble getting the patch to install.
im still working on it - im gettign further
now i can use the patch on the 2i its just tht its very slow i need to sort this out b4 i post it ere.

Hi guys,
Have a TyTn II (Kaiser), am in Australia, on the 3 Network.
Been playing around and using Kaiser Kitchen have managed to burn myself a few ROMS and updated my phone.
However, I no longer have the option to make video calls.
So, is this a radio issue or dialer issue (or both) ? (or base ROM??)
And anyone from Oz (or elsewhere) suggest a good radio and/or dialer to use to regain video calling??
You can try this link. I tested on my 3. And it is working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503116
k, just found that one too.
Installed, works great...
Now, if only it was in black...
And is their a way of adding a video call button when ya call up a contact????

I'm on 3 Australia as well and would also like to know radio recommendations
This might be of use.
Ive been experimenting with skinning dialers at the moment and have produced two betas.
Black and red and black and lime. They arent completly done yet, im fiddling with the registry to get the text while in the call to red so i can skin the buttons black...but they are 80% done.

Look in the Xposed and/or Franco kernel thread for a similar issue like yours, there may be a fix posted. Last resort is to flash a stock image in fastboot and that will probably fix your problem.

When asking for assistance it's best to provide as much information as possible. As it stands I have no idea what you're referring to, and I think it's safe to assume most people won't either.
Ok i will search in there threads.Hope there is some fix posted
Thanks.

Hi,
But what is "this proximity sensor( during call) bug" you are referring? Honestly I have no idea what you are talking about, I never had noticed a bug or anything else with the proximity sensor during call
Like _MetalHead_ said if you want help describe the problem...
Ok fine i will keep that in mind, next time if i post any questions.

For the next time ok, but for now (in this thread here) you can't describe/explain the problem???
There is video on youtube regarding this.i cant post it in here so.
Anywaz the issue is when i m in call,
Steps
1)Call a number
2)Screen goes off.
if i try to make the screen on(to end the all or anything) i have to press 4-5 times power button which also happens by luck to make the screen on.
Also when in call (screen is off),if i try to do something in the status bar.Like if i touch near status bar(in call screen off),when the call ends u can see the status bar was active even if the screen was off.
Hope i m understandable.
i have posted the description of the issue just now .
Historically, this was usually down to a crap screen protector blocking the sensors. OP - are you using an SP?

exactly the same for me!!! (except R33)
Same issue on mine, and I don't use a case or screen protector. It's annoying because I have to enter a passcode to check my voicemail, but the screen stays black when I move the phone away from my head. Putting it on speaker seems to fix the issue, but I don't always want my phone calls broadcast to everyone around me.
Hello,
I received a nexus5 few days ago but I just noticed that the camera application is very dark whereas the photo app works great.
I am on CM11 but i restored to 4.4.2 stock and it's still the same.
Please help!

On auto, I tried with a fixed value, it's still the same. It's seems to have like a grey veil.. Very weird.. :/
Screenshot examples on this thread : http://www.nexus5forum.com/nexus-5-...t-a-nexus-5-for-christmas/?prev_next=prev#new
do you have root or a custom recovery running?
That's known issue, and there is one quite lengthy thread on official Google groups (if you are talking about when shooting in low light, right?).
Google is aware of it. They even contacted few of use to recreate this issue and send a bug report to them, and that was like 2 months ago.
This happened after 4.4.1/4.4.2 update affecting all users (as far as I know).
Edit: Here's the link for that thread: https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/nexus/fxsT5LxuXJU/wsUpKaxQ05EJ

Yeah, I was also a bit confused, but he is talking about camera and photo mode (app), so I guess he meant video mode .
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I'm not sure if this is really a bug though. All phones I've used have darker videos than photos. Most likely because the camera isn't capable of longer exposures while taking video. I might be wrong though.
well, if you are running a custom recovery, heres a flashable 4.4.1 full camera/libs. video camera works perfectly for me, its not dark http://goo.gl/orWkC0
But the strange thing is that it was not like that before the update. Maybe they just decreased exposure gain to remove noise.
There is one more weird thing happening withing camera app that I came across trying to "fix" this underexposure issue.
I pointed camera to some dark area and then I was toggling between modes there (eg. From camera mode to PhotoSphere, and then to video mode). Exposure issue fixed itself (in video mode), but picture was unbelievably wide and stretched. And as soon as you start recording, it reverts back to original underexposed video mode. So I guess that is just some weird glitch.

I have CWM touch with CM11-M3 on my phone.
I will try the 4.4.1 app this evening, I keep you in touch.
Thank you for your help guys :]
Yea its a known bug with android 4.4.2 and also the static noise while recording video.
.
My nexus 7 2013 has also been effected with these bugs.....hope google fixes it soon.
I just flashed the the camera but nothing changed :/

Are you sure that you are talking about the same issue? As far as I know, every phone has this issue after 4.4.1/4.4.2 update...
Here are my screenshots of camera app while pointing it to spot with poor lighting condition s...
Note that difference is even more noticeable in darker scenes...

So you are saying that it's normal for the nexus 5 to have an app camera less brighter than the photo app since 4.4.2? I received my phone a week ago so I didn't noticed it, it was already installed in 4.4.2

No, I am not saying that. Read my previous posts in this thread. It is known "bug". Google is aware of it (bug reports have been sent), and it is up to then to fix it or not.

Just found out that the pictures have a purple tint on it. Mostly visible on black.
Can someone test their camera if it has the same issue. Maybe I have faulty device.
Has this always been there or has it recently started?
Edit: what I mean is that has the purple tint recently appeared, or was the first picture you ever took had this purple tint.
I checked some photo's taken when I just bought the phone and the tint is there.

Tried several camera apps already, still the same.
It's not always that purple like my photo in the opening post, but there is always some white, light pink tint in the center of the pictures. And only visible on dark subjects.

Does it feels hot around the camera? The HTC M7 had purple tint sometimes after a long use.
I think you should contact Honor

We're terribly sorry to hear that your pictures are having a purple tint. We advise that you shut off your device for 15-20 seconds. This should refresh your phone and your camera app. If that doesn't work, we advise giving our Honor Support Team a call at 1-844-524-6667 for further troubleshooting steps. (ED)
It's a hardware issue, return it and claim a replacement
I will see what I can do.

Hope it's a software issue....if not, more than likely there will be other bugs. I would definitely bring it back and have them exchange it. There never should be purple tints on pics on a new device.
