Hi,
are there anywhere changelogs for the different builds of WM 6.x available? I have seen the WM 6.5 build 21820, then again the WM 6.1 build 20764. In theory there would be 1055 builds in between, where I would usually "expect" several major changes. Is this true?
Nobody having some information?
Meanwhile I found a 6.1 build #21051. Compared to the one previously mentioned this one would be ahead of almost 300 builds. For 6.5 #21820 so far seems to be the latest one - I have found at least.
Are there any recommendations as to the build to use? As mentioned previously I would suspect that 300 builds - not to speak of the other 1055 - would come with a lot of fixes and other changes, wouldnt they?
Thank you

My 1st thread so I'm ready for a "use the search" reply... [I have!]
The latest WinMob 6.1 Roms for my HD seem to be CE OS 5.2.21051...
has WinMob 6.1 development stopped there? I guess so as all new ROM's coming out are WM6.5 and it is due out (officially) in a couple of months.
Thanks for any informative replies.
according to some threads here the wm 6.1 will go on till 2109x
and further 211xx and newer versions will be wm 6.5
but as of now the latest OFFICIAL version is 21051
though there are HEX versions like 21068 etc but i would prefer 21051 (which i currently use)
The difference between between WinMo 6.1 an 6.5 is basically cosmetic. The big leap forward comes when WinMo VersionWhatEver???? runs on Windows CE 6.0. Until then, here is some music.......
Thanks

Thanks for the info.

I think you're right there... M$ have just added a fresh lick of paint on an old Ford Escort with WM6.5!
I'm new to this forum and to flashing the ROM on my Wizard. This is a fantastic forum with a wealth of contributions, though it is rather daunting for the newcomer.
I have experimented with a couple of WM6.5 builds (RC4 and newer Beta), a 6.1 build, and the original 5.0. I find WM6.5 to be rather unusable. WiFi doesn't work well, TouchNFlo is intermittent, and everything is dog slow. 6.1 seems a nice upgrade to 5.0.
Are others having a similar experience with 6.5? Is it too much for this 3 year old device? I'm not sure what the advantages are, other than personal taste for user interface.
Another question (and excuse me for perhaps not doing a better search)--if I find a build I like, but want more than the "clean" version, can I easily add the missing pieces, such as Manila 2D?
Thanks everyone!
Hi! Glad you joined! With regards to your question....WM6.5 officially released on October the 18th so until then all of the WM6.5 builds were based on betas and RCs which usually have bugs and what not which usually end up being slow anyways...there are several 6.5 builds based of of the final/ release version which run fairly quick . WM6.1 has been out for a while now and is the best go between for WM5 and 6.5 as of right now and its highly recommended by me! Im not telling you to (because you should research and pick one on your own!) but i used X2Hs NSN WM6.1 with Manila 2D and it was blazing fast so you should look into that!Cheers!
Maybe try to overclock your wizard? I got H3r's WM 6.5 rom on my wizard. Overclocked to 260 Mhz, about 29-30 MB of free ram after reboot. It works better than some 6.1 roms i tested.
I installed X2H's new "iphone killer" WinMo 6.5 ROM and its BLAZING FAST even without overclocking.... i highly suggest you look into that!!!!!

in fact there are some cabs to add m2d (4 ex) htc home, etx.
and yes im using the iphone killer (wm6.5 based) and is really fast, no need to overclock (i think is no worth to overclock since the wizard work flawless with iphone killer and some others i have tried be4)
but 6.5 have a flexible interface so you wont miss the m2d (i prefer the htc home) but 6.5 is very nice..... and of course if you go to spb shell page there you can download very nice demos and get the best.good looking-funcional interface.
good luck!
p.s. send pm if you want more tips

Where can I find the kitchen for build 23071
If it isn't in the first page of this forum, it probably hasn't been ported, yet.
I haven't had a chance to do anything with my kitchen lately.
Unless you are asking where you can find the built itself so you can port it yourself...
I think it has been ported Gonzo using it and in your first post on the release of superJustkithen 7 you reference as beeing in included but All i see in the drop downs are
21054
21877
28008
It could have been one of the 9 builds I ported over for SJK 0.7. I only keep the most recent versions of 6.1, the old gui 6.5 and the new gui 6.5. That's probably why it never made it through.
So where can I get the build for it?
In the forum. Many places. The main stuff gets here first.
Based on what Microsoft is showing at CES, it appears that 23091 might be the official "shipping build" of 6.5.3.
If that's the case, I wonder what all the 28XXX builds are for? Anyone know any details on this?

I need a little help understanding IE Mobile (and PIE) versions - and what they mean.
I've searched and browsed and read, but I'm still confused, so I figured I'd ask the largest group of WM experts I know of (perhaps should have started here?).
Anyway...
I know that PIE changed to IEM with WM 6 release.
And I know that prior to 6.1 (maybe 6.5) there was no "Internet Explorer Mobile 6".
However, I keep seeing user agents reporting IEM 7.11, 8.12 and the like - versions which don't exist, and certainly didn't exist pre-IEM 6 release.
So it seems there is a naming mess with PIE and IEM, and IEM 6 isn't JUST IEM 6 but IEM6 v7.11 or IEM6 v8.12 - or what have you.
I've seen WM6.1 ROMs cooked on here with IEM 7.11 - which is impossible if the 7.11 is the same versioning line as the 6 in IEM 6 - so - well that's about it - can anyone explain IEM 6 versions to me?
I know of:
PIE 1.0 (original release PIE)
PIE 1.1 (Second release, and the last PIE to receive version number)
Many undocumented PIE versions up to the release of WM 6 (when they started talking about IEM 6 and changed the name of PIE to IEM) <- maybe this happened at WM 5.0 release??
Then an actual versioned release of IEM in IEM 6 with WM 6.5 release.
Maybe with 6.1 if that Treo 800 actually got IEM 6.
ANY help GREATLY appreciated - even questions about with I'm talking about would probably be helpful.
Really, no replies?
I know it's confusing, and MS has nerfed the naming over the years, but someone must have made some sense of it right?
K, here's a non MS question too - maybe some random archaic wireless question will kick start the memory banks?
Anyone know what TSS/2.5 is wrt a browser version?
My best guess is it's Teleca Software Solutions, and a version 2.5 browser they cranked out at some point, but i can't find anything definitive on it.
