I have a quick question for you guys. I want to get root access for my HTC Magic. After reading haykuro blog i got a bit confused about one of his twitter messages:

Is the "non-htc branded magic" = vodaphones t-mobile and so on?
The HTC branded magic is the one with HTC written all over it? (Well atleast two logo's )
Or is it the other way around?
Any help is appreciated, thanks

As u see I have quoted the line here, the last letter H means its HTC branded.... letter G means Google branded.
You should Have least used the search option.... fee more info about hboot search this section before posting a new thread...

Yes i know. I did edit this post just before you did reply with the quoted info.
So the stock Roger's Magic is the same as the HTC branded right? And im gonna follow these instructions http://bit.ly/xcx6Y ("Root your Rogers's Magic !!!")
Sorry for all the newbie questions, but i have to admit searching just didnt supply the info i needed. Atleast i couldnt see it... And i dont wanna brick my phone just yet.

ok.I own a "unbranded" htc g2 and I want to flash a hero rom in it.
But Every hero rom I find in this great forum can't work:it can can go
into fastboot mode I can flash rom but when reboot i,it just stay
at the "htc magic" local screen.It really tricky for me(maybe).
For now I am using the"daldroid-htcmagic1-signed rom" find from this
forum.
I hope someone with a kind heart and clever brain can help me.

我就flash左http://forum.xda-developers.co/showthread.php?t=529019 入面geEngineering SPL HBOOT-1.33.2005(不過你o個個SPL都應該無問題)
然后就flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=531837 入面ge Hero rom(有需要backup就backup左再wipe然后update 無需要backup就直接wipe然后update)(安全起見我就backup左)update完restart就ok!

You need to get a version for 32A motherboard. Search the forum.

I'm pretty sure that it's just the plain stock 1.5 just with language support...

It is my understanding that you should not update to this because it contains the perfect SPL.
The update to the Sense Rom will specifically say so. And again, from what I read, if you choose to do so, it will contain a perfect SPL.

This Update makes the phone useless to custom roms and everything good about the phone.

It's not newer... Thats the SPL that came in the HTC Magics of my country (Chile in South America)...
It can be rooted using the goldcard method, but at least here in Chile, after you use the goldcard the magic looses the 3g, Edge, and any kind of mobile internet connectivity...You can still use wifi)...

I've got an HTC Magic with a special SPL, and I wanted to change the ROM to an Eclair 2.1 with Sense (if possible), it's currently running the 1.6 Android version without Sense.
My HTC Magic is :
SAPPHIRE Unknown 32B SHIP S-ON G
HBOOT-1.33.0006 (SAPP10000)
Please can someone telle me what exactly should I do to be able to flash this HTC ? Do I have to make a Goldgard or anything like that ?

My device is rooted, it has AmonRA-1.7.0 and CM-5.0.7 (right now upgrading to 5.0.8).
My question is, what *Updated* HBOOT and RADIO should i use? What are the advantages?
I think of hboot as something like a BIOS software and radio as an internal firmware for hardware components. Am i right? If i am, than it should be better to keep them up to date!
Could anyone please advice me on this? What versions should i use and where can i get them? =)

I belive you can only use the radio that you have for the mytouch 32a, i am not sure about the rest, I own a 32b, but i would use CM-6.0.0-DS-RC-1, it is way better than any of the CM-5.x.x, and its faster also.
