Best sound quality WM device?

what would people say is the best sounding (music - via headphones) windows mobile device.
most mobile phones are usually pretty crap, my TyTN wasn't great even with SRS, the Sedna isn't great either.
has anyone got any ideas?
i have a usually use a B&O Beosound 2 and use either the bundled A8 headphones or a pair of Westone UM2 in-ear earphones.
Don't like carrying two devices, so I'm selling the Sedna and have an upcoming upgrade. (Currently using a primitive K850i - nice camera though)
The Beosound 2 only has 2GB memory so that's not great too.
Do you reckon the Touch Diamond will have decent/better sound - it has an inbuilt 3.5mm adapter
or is that the Xperia X1? what would people recommend?
ideally a device with a good memory and a good camera too (so the X1 & diamond both fit)
i don't wanna carry an mp3 player and a phone/pocketPC.
i was tempted into treason... an iphone but tried (didn't buy) and didn't love it.
thanks, any help would be appreciated.
Off the point: the HTC Touch Pro seems almost identical to the Diamond, but with a memory card slot , a bit more RAM and is a few milimetres thicker? easy choice then right>

The Diamond only has 4GB storage, which is pretty much a showstopper for me.

I wouldn't call these cameras good. If you really need a good(!) camera, get the Nokia N95 or N82. Incidentally, it's also an excellent multimedia phone for both A2DP and speaker usage. As far as wired(!) headphones usage is concerned, it can be a bit noisy with more sensitive headphones with lower volume levels; therefore, you might want to prefer either A2DP or speaker mode. The latter, incidentally, is simply unbeatable.

But it isn't plagued by the 4GB storage.

any of the devices could play very good... Just instal TCPMP and tune the equalizer very wel and you get very good quality out of whichever...
I had this problem until i took my time to really tune tcpmp..

The Touch Diamond doesn't have a built-in 3.5mm adapter. But it still sounded really awesome (and looked really awesome) while watching music videos on Coreplayer (equalizer off) with the bundled stereo headset. Certainly sounded much better than Touch Dual.
Haven't gotten myself a 3.5mm adapter yet...so can't really tell how it sounds with higher-end earphones.
A2DP? it's crap but useful. neither of my wired earphones are noisy. without bragging they cost double almost any bluetooth A2DP headphones, and sound far better (the A2DP buzz...)
I had Motorola HT820 as soon as they were released (reliable), later bought Gear4 Bluphones (very light and small and in-ear) and both weren't great sounding, but good for the gym.
The HT820, as primitive now for me had the best range vs. Gear4 Bluphones or even Motorola S9.
indoors range was fine, outdoors it was crap with Gear4 Bluphones (weird???) as device (Hermes usually or K850i) was in pocket (that's only 3 feet!!!), honestly I could turn my head and sound would stop/stutter.
the headphones or device weren't faulty either.
speaker mode? where i come from that's for chavs... i could do without a speaker to be honest (except for call alerts)
good point about the 4gb limit on the Diamond - i use high bitrate mp3's so can't get many songs on and high-res pics are large in size too.
on my k850i with 4gb microSD i have about 350 mp3s (mostly 256 kbps) and around 1000 pics.
3.2 megapixel can be good with the right settibgs/lens etc.
the 5-megapixel k850i is probably the best camera avilable on a phone and it's not as good as a 4-megapixel digital camer, but is far better than a LG viewty 5-megapixel camera...
so the X1 camera seems likely to be better than Diamond (and K800i hade same spec - it was quite good).
I can confirm the X1 has a 3.5mm jack.
What about sound cards/drivers etc.?
or is this irrelevant?
The diamond has a 4gig limit? You guys sure? I mean, you can put an 8gig in the Touch Dual, so surely the Diamond has the same SDHC support?
And as for sound quality, if you're after sound quality and you've actually thought that B&O is good, I think you need your ears checking Honestly, B&O are masters in the art of dressing up mid-range gear in nice clothes and making them out to be high end. When they very definitely are not.
There isn't a mobile phone on the market that has truly decent sound quality. Some sound reasonable, but none are truly high fidelity playback kit.
i was using xda flame for the last 2 weeks ,i can say that the flame has a good sound quality ,it use the goforce 5500 to process the sound with srs to back it up and having 2 gig of internal memory.
B&O's good enough for me. Even if it is mid-range it's better than most.
I can't afford top-end really, being a student.
I acquired the B&O taste from my granddad. The Beosound 2 was a gift and the Beosound 9000 I also have I 'borrowed' from him (permanently). Best sound I've heard (at my/someone's home).
I even did a straight test between HQ mp3's and an ipod video and there was a great difference.
I'm not going to fork out £450 for a 2GB mp3 player, or £2000+ on a CD player!
I wouldn't recommend them unless they were cheap therefore, for me around £100 would be a decent price for a Beosound 2.
The damned thing doesn't even have a screen.
XDA flame looked promising, I remember but I kinda missed it and it was unavailable when I wanted it... the Nvidia 3D chip thing was exciting, let's hope they follow-up on upcoming devices.
Has anyone used B&O Serenata (it fetches <£500 even on ebay!!!)
It uses 'ICEpower' but so does thesamsung Soul, that seems a gimmick however.
Diamond has no SDHC...its built in mem only!

[Q] HTC Titan sound quality

Hi
Can anyone tell me what the sound quality is like on this device. I am currently using an Omnia 7 which has a mono speaker so I find that when I turn the volume down to 1/30 music is still really loud. Is this the case on the titan. Does it have stereo speakers. Also what is call quality like as on my omnia 7 i find it hard to hear at times.
Thanks in advance

Mi 4C Sound Quality

Has someone tested the audio quality of the Mi 4C?
I mean the earphones one during call and with music.
I would like to know if it is comparable with Htc One M8...
Thanks!
not tested the earphones, but the built-in speakers are very loud!!
Thank you kelkelkel, could you please tell me when you'll try the headphones?

Stereo or mono speaker?
Speaker or Headphones?
The mi4c has superb sound. My headphones (beyerdynamic tp51p) really become alive. You'll not be dissapointed.
Finally I've tested the phone and the audio is low and poor, in my opinion.
I've tried three pairs of earphones. I think it is worse than my old Moto G 2013.
Anyway installing Cyanogenmod the volume is good and the sound is more crystalline.
So the problem is the Miui software...
We are still very far from the quality of HTC or even iphone.
Equalizer, earphones enhancing are honestly not very useful. In Cyanogenmod instead the equalizer runs well.
Anyway the price of the phone is very good but I can not recommend the purchase to audiophiles users or those who want a particular quality of listening .

Stock? I've haven't found any earphones in the box.
Did you try to ear from Htc, S6 or iPhone? It is very different, I repeat, this is my opinion!
Didn't you noticed that the max volume is low yet?
I tend to agree with @HarryCustom, max sound quality is so so under miui even with the enhancements. No contest compared to my M8, both speakers or headphone. Waiting for sound mods when available since I have rooted it already.

I've installed that rom, but I think the mod is not working, the audio is low yet.
It was a problem anyway because I've decided to use Cyanogenmod, in my opinion is more stable than Miui...

Is that miui build more stable than the default Chinese one?
I am Italian, so I've received the phone with a modded stable rom with plenty of bloatware.
So I've flashed the Miui.eu rom and cooked Smiui.
I think all the roms are immature, but this a common problem when you buy a new android phone.
I've tested both Miui and Cyanogenmod for a week. In my opinion there are not so much difference in stability.
But maybe I excedeed saying that the other one is more stable, to tell the truth te only sure thing is that I think Cyano fits better for me.
I am sure only about one thing the sound is different and better with Cyanogenmod...
Are there any apps in the play store that can change the sound quality? Sounds like it has a lot of bass
Hi you can try Eizo Noozxoide, in my opinion is the best audio adjustment app.
Anyway if the audio is poor, is poor...

Here are some actual values for the Mi4C (Running the Chinese version of MIUI) and iPhone 6s, and as you can see they perform practically the same, but the iPhone is louder (not shown here) and the stereo crosstalk with Headphones attached is more than a bit disappointing. How is the sound better with CyanogenMod? In what way? Can you hear more distortion or worse dynamic range in compared to other phones? I'm waiting for my Mi4C to arrive, and I'm somewhat the audiophile (though that's not why I bought this phone, it just has the least amount of compromises for the price).

Hi xdadevet and sorry for my terrible English, I am not an audiophile, not at all. I tried both on Miui.eu, the last rom available, and Smiu with volume boost patch (that seems to be not useful) and I noticed more distortion and worse dynamic range than on CM12.1 Alpha.
Maybe my phone has some issues, but this is what I've noticed. It's not very difficult to understand that, I can't need to be an audiophile to say it: for expample on both miui I can keep the headphones in my ears even with the maximum volume and, the sound is distorted , unclean and weak. On CM the sound is crystal clear , the equalizer works well and the phone sounds a little better than my old Moto G (always on CyanogenMod), at maximum volume I'm forced to take off the headphones. I was hoping that the Mi 4C sounded better anyway!
Using the sound enhancement by Xioami (all the profiles are for Xiaomi earphone, any other earbud has to use the general one ) ths situation is the same, you can ear a bit better, but volume and distortion are the same. I've tried a pair of Blox, Edifier H110 and Baldoor E100.
Maybe with another type of headphones you can change the situation, but I think there are some problems in Miui management of audio, as the sound quality has to be the same on CyanogenMod.
To conclude, we are very far from HTC , just yesterday I made a comparison between listening Mi4c with CM and an One M7 , I'm sorry , there is no comparison...
The rear speaker instead is good, better than other phones even if the phone is resting on a table.
I hope new roms could solve this issue and also the touch one.

the sound quaLity

hello guys i am ready to buy the ascend mate 7 i just wanted to knew if the sound quality was good and when i said good its mean atleast like the lg g3 or better. Thanks for reading.
Speaker sound i would say it's decent, not the best, but it's decent. Sound quality coming from the 3.5 jack is absolute garbage i tell you, i made the comparisson with an iPhone 5s and it kicks my Mate 7 all over.
My mate 7tl10 gives a very good sound ,y have a iphone 5 and for me the mate 7 is much better,it's my opinion.

it's strange, headphones sound normal, maybe a wee bit low but they sound fine. But if you plug it let's say to the AUX of a car the difference is more noticeable
Yeah.. kinda.. You have to edit the build.prop or delete a audio codec file in order to get a higher volume (the standard max. volume is way too quiet). So you basically need root for good sound.
But then again you also need root for viper4android, which significally improve audio quality on all android devices.

Smartphone with LOUDest volume

Hi,
I'm looking for smartphone that has very loud speaker volume while playing music. I don't really like headphones while jogging outside and I prefer phone speakers. I currently have HTC m8 but even with it's front facing speakers and BoomSound effect it still isn't loud enough for me while running outside. It's great indoors nonetheless. I have sort of measuring its volume while playing rock music (A7X, FOB, Blink 182, ADTR etc) and it reaches around 75-77 dbs under Max volume.
It's hard to find a good review about phone speakers. I know nexus 6p is loud but it turns me off since it doesn't support SD cards. Moto X pure seems good but I don't have data of its loudness. Xpedia c4 or c5 seems to be loud also but I need some input on its loudness outdoors.
Any good recommendation on buying the LOUDEST smartphone for music? Any brand any kinds of input are greatly appreciated. Thanks! (Marshall London is loud and has the best audio but specs are really low)
