Smartphone with LOUDest volume - Android General

Hi,
I'm looking for smartphone that has very loud speaker volume while playing music. I don't really like headphones while jogging outside and I prefer phone speakers. I currently have HTC m8 but even with it's front facing speakers and BoomSound effect it still isn't loud enough for me while running outside. It's great indoors nonetheless. I have sort of measuring its volume while playing rock music (A7X, FOB, Blink 182, ADTR etc) and it reaches around 75-77 dbs under Max volume.
It's hard to find a good review about phone speakers. I know nexus 6p is loud but it turns me off since it doesn't support SD cards. Moto X pure seems good but I don't have data of its loudness. Xpedia c4 or c5 seems to be loud also but I need some input on its loudness outdoors.
Any good recommendation on buying the LOUDEST smartphone for music? Any brand any kinds of input are greatly appreciated. Thanks! (Marshall London is loud and has the best audio but specs are really low)

[Q] speaker quality and volume level

I currently have Sensation 4G, and the speaker is terrible (not clear and loud, very difficult to hear in moderately noisy place). Even my 4 year old blackberry and 10$ Nokia has a better speaker. How is the feedback on HTC One S regarding speaker volume and sound quality on it?

[Q] Sound / Audio Quality? (HOS)

Hi!
Audio quality is a considerably important factor to me when I purchase a phone. I have a pair of Westone 4 IEMs (high-end), so my question is simple.
How good is the sound quality on the HTC One S?
I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 and the audio quality with voodoo sound fix applied was reasonably good imho, does the HTC One S compare?
Please do not comment on d sound quality with the headphones that are included with the phone or other cheap headphones, that includes Beats Solos.
Depends on what sound you want to know about.
The external sound is great. It achieves a decently high volume with minimum to no distortion. Beat audio does NOT effect the external sound, meaning it has no effect and does not turn on. Although the speaker is on the back, it does not get muffled if the phone is face up. For me, this speaker was an EXTREME upgrade from my Nexus One. I was surpirsed how well it sounds and how loud it can go.
[*]The in-call sound is real good as well. Not too much to say here, its real easy to hear the other person and it has been the most life-like sound I have experienced in regards to in-call sound.
The headphones have real good quality (ones I bought, this device does not come with a cheap pair by default). I think that Beats does good when it comes to enhancing the sound of music. Some think it is extremely amazing, I think it helps out greatly, but does not give completely unbelievable sound that you never heard before. It basically boosts bass and treble slightly giving a bit of a crisper sound over stock. I still use PowerAmp (media player) which has its own separate EQ system. It sounds amazing when combined with Beats.
Conclusion, Beats + good headphones = amazing sound quality, Beats + good headphones + additional DSP EQ setting (such as PowerAmp) = Best quality you will ever hear. I am an audiophile and I have to have my music sound perfect for all genres, rap to rock.

which is the best ear phones you used?

Tell me what ear plugs you guys use,
Suggest me some.
Does the quality of audio in ear plugs change of we use after flashing Dolby??.
Since you asked earbuds and not headphone
it is Creative EP-630 (deep base )
Brainwavz Proalpha - great detail, not huge beats, but detail on whole frequency scale.
Yes, with Dolby, it will change, it will sound more "amusingly", but sometimes will lack in detail. I recommend only PowerAmp(or noozy, Neutron) and V4A
PS: sorry for commenting on your post, I've clicked on different buttton.
im using iem ATH clr 100, with v4a preinstalled in my rom (miui polska)
its cheap but i really enjoyed the sound quality
I use the Edifier H180 earphones and a KZ ATE in ear monitor. Both are cheap and very good. I don't use Dolby or any other enhancements.
Cowon em1
i use beyerdinamic mmx102ie, not the best tho
but fairly enough. and i don't use enhancement
tried 215spe and feels better, but still just so so
i using iem over ear, basic ie200, good bass, good fitting, good price
no need sound mod anymore..
In my honest opinion, Sony XB50ap is the best earphone i ever heard. I tried many earphone/headphone, on each i could find few things which were not the best compared to sony XB50ap.
Not only it has excellent bass, its mid and high are clear and distinct, you could hear all the notes and different pitch clearly and uniquely.
It has best noise isolation, and the sound intensity is the best of non active earphone i ever heard. Meaning, you could set low playback volume you could still hear it loud and clear.
A perfect earphone.
I use ISO equalizer band on Winamp for testing with EQ, since its ISO band behavior on other devices/player is near equal.
But, the best combo was with MAXX audio mod for Lenovo K3 note, default dolby app was useless like most sound enhancing apps on phone.
Maxx audio with default equalizer, with bass and treble knob set at required level, give best sound experience. If only someone would work on maxx audio to make it work on Redmi 2.
PS: only negative, may be bit big on size and thus everyone may not like it. Cost i think is not bad considering quality and what you can get from other brand.

trust me dude, just get Sony XB50ap. You won't regret it. Make sure you buy it from authorized source and not some counterfeit item.
Using Panasonic HJE125s, really good earphones for cheap price
Sennheiser CX180 Street II, the music sounds good. I'm not an expert in music but if an earphone gives decent output, it's good enough for me
I was previously using stock Samsung headphones with my HM2014818.
With XTREMEMUSIC and V4A, it already sounded insane and one thing was clear to me that, the details of the sound being delivered, i.e. the highs mids and lows to be technical, are much of the concern of the underlying software itself, than good quality of headphones. Each headphone has atleast a good amount of frequency response which is enough to unleash the full power of the vibration being sent to it. If the vibration itself is dumped, no hardware can do enough.
I recently bought Sony MDR XB650BT, which sounds obviously slightly more dynamic due to its bigger drivers, gives deeper bass due to the XB, better fittings and all, but everything else is almost pretty same.
So my point is, before going to buy an extremely expensive hardware for listening to better music, make changes to the software itself. There are a whole bunch of soundmods available at XDA, try any or all of them(though my personal favorite has always been the XM, but that's part of another story ), and then decide.
I use Creative E600....whivh i consider the best budget earphone!
To me, Phillips is the best sound quality or Sony.
mi capsules are also good
sennheiser makes me comfortable with good ups, mid, and downs.
im using beats tour
Sent from my Wingtech Redmi 2 using XDA Labs
I am using the audio technica ATH CLR 100 for more than 6 months now. Really nice pair of ear phones for the price. Even though the cable used looks and feels cheep, for my usage (Kinda rough) I've failed to damage it
Right now, using Cowon EM1 and AudioTechnica CKX7iS. Love the CKX7iS. Wasn't satisfied with the performance of EM1 initially, but I removed the filter and switched the buds with that of another old AudioTechnica's and bam, it's amazing now.
Used Dolby long back and didn't like it. The audio enhancements that come with stock MIUI works great. I've seen similar outputs only in Viper Audio, with some IRs.
Well i am on mi stock earphone mi in ear headphone pro gold that is quite costly but sounds good i mean great i can't even imagine like that one sound quality. It is very important to know sound quality before you buy any earphone or headphone

Speakerphone (loudness, clarity)

Proper etiquette aside (hint: don't use speakerphone while doing your "business" in a public bathroom), rate this thread to express how you think the Google Pixel XL's speakerphone performs. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it's loud and it's clear.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Coming from the Moto X PE the one speaker at the bottom sounds so sad. I also am having to train myself not to cover it up on accident. For me it is way to quiet or too loud.
Coming from a Galaxy S6, the speaker on the Pixel is significantly louder and clear. I have not been jaded by an HTC set of speakers so I might be in the minority that thinks the Pixel speaker is great.
Coming from N6, I was worried that the XL's speaker will not be as loud. I can confirm that it is as loud, if not slightly louder, but the dual speakers on the N6 has more depth. Overall, I am not as worried as before.
The quality is good, could be louder.
The sound on my end is great, the people on the other end say it's muffled at times. Since I use speaker all day for conference calls I will have to return the Pixel XL

This makes me feel better since I am coming from a N6 and absolutely love the speakers. I'm going to miss FFS, but at least a quality sound will comfort me.
Not loud enough...and sounds bad in comparison to other phones i've had in the past (even single speaker ones)
Speaker is pretty bad as far as media/games is concerned. RIP stereo. It's good for normal notifications though.

You keep badmouthing the phone yet provide no information for comparison. What other phones have you had, even single speaker ones, that sound better?
This is very subjective anyway
My comparison is with the 6p. Single speaker comparison is the lg g3. The speaker is not terrible on the pixel, but just not as good as one would expect in such a high priced phone. Also, the placement is horrid since you accidentally keep blocking it while watching videos of playing games in landscape.
But otherwise, a fantastic phone which really define what great software and hardware can achieve
Its ok. Not nexus 6 good ofcourse. Its nice for notifications
I made a video comparison between the speakers on the Nexus 6p and the Google Pixel XL. Check it out.

I typically run the phone through bluetooth when listening to music, however I must say that when watching videos I, like others have said, block the speaker. Coming from a Moto X Pure I don't think the speaker on the Pixel is quite as good. It's not bad per se, but I don't need the speaker to be spectacular when watching a video. Notification sounds are plenty loud for me. I haven't used the speaker phone option much, but when I have it has been fine.
I find the single speaker avg. I sometimes cover the speaker with a pinky or palm by accident and muffles just a slight flaw but not a deal breaker.
RIP my Nexus 6's front facing speakers. This is my only major gripe with this phone so far. So disappointing. Front facing speakers should be standard.
Max volume loudness seems about the same as my 6P. My 6P gets crackly at max volume, while the XL does not. Definitely less bass on the XL though.
Coming from the N6 it is not really a fair comparison because the stereo front firing was louder and clearer to me.
The Pixel XL speaker sounds OK and perfectly acceptable for notification. It would have been better if the earpiece was also used as a speaker and the location of the bottom firing speaker flipped with the mic for media.

It sounds deeper than my note 7 did. I like it better. The only issue I'm having is my notification tones seem to only be about 2/3 the volume they should be. Example is, if I go to Zedge and preview a notification tone, it sounds fine. Set it as notification sound, and it's only about 2/3 of the volume it was in the preview. I have everything I can find turned to the max. Idk.

Ditto to this. MXPE spoiled me in sound quality. Why doesn't every phone have front facing speakers? We certainly got the bezel for it...

Bass issues...

I've recently upgraded to the note 10 plus from an s7 edge. One thing I have noticed since the switch is that when I use the bluetooth in my car with the note I don't hear certain portions of the bass or if I can it sounds almost non existent and has no kick. It's the parts of the songs that have sustained bass rather then a short punchy bass. Short punchy bass works fine. I use the s7 and my subs are back to there former glory. Any idea what's going on? I feel like the channel that handles that part of the bass track isnt getting any bass. Any help would be appreciated as this has stumped and frustrated me for a month now.
See this:

No offense
But that link is the equivalent to banging my head against a brick wall. I've been through all of that. Every single step. It's not a problem of quality. The quality is fine. The bass mix is incorrect. Never did anything to my s7 and its audio mix was fine.
Even im facing the same problem. I switched from Poco F1 to Note 10 and i could feel the decrease in the amount of bass. I've checked all the settings and even set the equaliser for max bass but that thumping bass is missing. One thing i noticed is if you play a song stored in your phone via samsung music app, then you can get a thumping bass. I use spotify everyday so i felt the difference when i played a song using samsung music.
