custom region setting for my wm5 machine (dopod 818 pro) ?

Dear All,
I have a English Dodop 818 pro (HTC prophet). I have set my machine "Regional settings" to "English (United States) as Hong Kong is not available on the list. However I found this setting will turn on the autoformating for the phone number on the contact list to (xxx) xxx-xxxx which is not suitable to where i live.
I just wonder if there anyway to make a new entry to the Regional setting and/or there are any reg edit to turn off the autoformating? Thanks.
Elton
you can do like what i did and change the settings to english (australia) i would love to know how to do an autoconfig hack as well though.
well , my work around is to change the setting to UK instead of USA. But then it is only a work around.

English PPC, Danish PC conflicts

I'm having some troubles with my contacts, appointments etc. I have chosen to have an english PPC because most software etc. is in english anyway, but my OS and Outlook is in Danish so I get double appointments for birthdays etc. e.g. both one in danish and one in english. What can I do?
I'm thinking of switching to the english Outlook that came with my PPC but since it's only 2002 and I have 2007 now it's quite a step back
What do you mean by 'get double'?
Do you enter them twice - once in English on the PPC and once in Danish on the PC or do they somehow duplicate them selves?
In the first case, there is no reason to suffer. WWE (World Wide English) ROMs come with Danish locale in regional settings. Also I believe the fonts on the device should support any extra characters your language uses so all you need is a proper virtual keyboard.
Just google for a 'Danish keyboard for PPC'. You can install extra keyboards just like any other program.
If I am wrong and your language alphabet is not included in the fonts on the device (does Danish use Latin / Western European characters?) you can always copy the fonts from your PC.
This way while your PPC will be primarily in English it will still fully support reading and writing Danish.
If it is a second case - though I can't imagine how something would get automatically translated I am not sure what the solution is.
Well it is the second case, I guess it's because both the PPC and Outlook makes the appointments based on my contacts.
I have made the changes to regional settings and also use a danish keyboard plugin. Danish uses Latin /western.
Would it be a good idea to switch ROM maybe to danish version? Or maybe I should just bite the apple and get windows/office in english.
I take it now that you changed the region it still happens?
One last thing you could try before more desperate measures:
Backup your device (you can use SPB Backup trial if you do not already have a backup), then using the built in file explorer rename pim.vol (in root of your device) to something else and reset. This will delete all your contacts, appointments etc on the device. Now back your pst file on the PC just in case, and sync the device.
If nothing went horribly wrong all your info should be in Danish and the duplication should go away.

BenQ E72 Additional Languages

Hello,
Apologies beforehand if this is not in the correct place.
Being a new owner of the BenQ E72, I am trying to adapt the phone to my native language (Greek). The phone features Windows Mobile 6 Standard and supports the Greek language in terms of regional settings; however, it's not possible to type in Greek either via the numeric pad or T9 (absent).
After browsing these forums (and a lot Google-ing), I've collected some T9 Greek components in order to try to add the Greek language to it. Careful examination of the registry does not provide any clues about the existance of xT9, so I assume that the phone features the "standard" T9 (the 'old' one).
The problem is that even if the Greek T9 is recognized, it does not work on all applications, particularly the Messaging application (SMS). When the Greek T9 IME is selected, I cannot enter any words and the phone just beeps. The rest of the system correctly recognizes the Greek T9 IME and I can use it (e.g creating a new task, typing in Greek using T9 is possible).
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance.
No ideas about this?

[Q] How to set Czech keyboard layout for BT keyboard on English WM 6.5?

Edit: I wanted to post this to Questions forum. I don't know how to move the post, can an admin do it please?
Hi,
I have Omnia II with English WM 6.5 and some default ROM (I guess details are not important). I bought bluetooth keyboard Freedom Pro and want to use it with my phone. But the keyboard layout is English. Is there ANY way how to change it to Czech QWERTY layout? I have regional settings set to Czech, and Samsung Keypas also set to Czech (and it works without problems) so I think somewhere deeply hidden is Czech keyboard layout. But I didn't find any way to force the phone to use it.
When I connect the keyboard to my computer, I can switch english and czech layout simply by SHIFT+ALT. It doesn't work when connected to the phone.
In my registry in HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Keyboard Layout/Active=00000409.
In HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Layouts/ are 2 directories - 00000409 and e0010409. In HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Layouts/00000409/ are a few keys (I hope it is the right word for value) - "Layout File"=S3c6400_keypad_US.dll; "PS2_AP"=S3c6400_keypad_US.dll; "Layout Text"=US and BuildInKeypad=S3c6400_keypad_US.dll;
I thought the "S3c6400_keypad_US.dll" file may contain settings of keyboard layout. So I found similar structure on my comp and found "kbdcz.dll" there. I copied it to my windows/ directory and changed all the three paths above to this new file. After soft reset nearly all keys become crazy (even on SW keyboards - most of buttons produced MANY characters when pressed) but after a while I managed to set the registry back and soft reset the phone again. Then I decided it's better to ask for help rather than playing with registry.
So do you know a way how to solve this? Is there any czech version of S3c6400_keypad_US.dll that would work for me? Or it's not so simple?
Thank for answers
