Is there anyway to add in custom Ringtones to the Alarm Clock sounds? (not the normal 'My Ringtones'). Do I need to mod the ROM / hack registery?
If so how?
yes
In Windows ROOT! but the files must be .wav
I cant remember if Root on storage works too. but try it.
Windows root .wav files work. Cheers for that!
YES!!!
Nice to heard it dude...!

how can I have mp3 ring tones on my mda compact.
I can hear them in media player but I can't have them as ring tones.
my os ver is OS 1.12.00 / ExtROM 1.12.920 / Radio 1.12.
you just have to copy the mp3 file to /windows/rings/ and select it in phone options.
thx man i thought that I had first add the ring tone and by the adding the file was never there so thought that it can't play mp3 but this time i went straight to the settings and selected it
one question more
can I move the default /windows/rings/ to another location like location /storage card/ring tones/?

Never heard of it needing a password..
Heres the easy way! Connect your phone, then browse to the windows folder... All the ringtones are in there!
Could you upload me all default ringtones (all from Windows folder)?
Thanks

Hey there
I flashed CyanogenMod's ROM 3.6.8 release 4 that's been ported to 32B devices, and I love the ROM, only problem is
There's no range of sounds, it only has the default ringer, default notification sound, and default alarm sound.
Essentially I want to extract the sound files from the nandroid backup I did of my original ROM, since I cant find any source for these files. However I've been searching and call me dumb, but I've been unable to find any information on how to do this (extracting files from a ROM image)
Could someone perhaps...point me in the right direction, or give me some tips pleeeaaasee
Download the tunes you would like and put into a folder named ringtones in your sdcard,Then use a file explorer and set as ringtone?

You can use this utility: http://code.google.com/p/unyaffs/downloads/list
The ringtones that come with your phone are in the system.img under /system/media/audio/ringtones
Hope that helps.
unyaffs does not work on the recovery images, why is that?
