Hello to all!
After I've upgraded my Magician to 1.13 I recognized my screen disaligns after 5 minutes of use. The I've downgraded to 1.12, but the disalign still stays. After browsing the forum I've recognized that much people have the same problem too. Some guy says that you should downgrade your ROM, or take the unit to the HTC European Service (if you have guarantee).
After browsing in the registry, I've found a regkey about Calibration. I modified it, and now the machine runs good, without disaligning.
So the method is the next:
1. Open your favourite Regeditor (Resco, Total Commander etc.)
2. Open HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/
3. Open CalibrationData You will see coordinates.
- The first coordinate is always x coordinate, so that is the horizontal
- The second coordinate is alwasy the y coordinate, so that is the vertical
- The first number pair (ex.: x,y) is the center point
- The second one is the upper left
- The third one is the bottom left
- The fourth is the bottom right
- and the last one is the upper right
My screen calibration is:
474,498 814,773 814,228 119,228 119,773
I hope it will help to guys who has the same problem.
If someone finds better calibrate coordinates, pls post it.
Cheers,
cheers for this , I have the same problem and have tried many different tweaks with no result.
My co-ordinates were different but then I was getting a mis-alignment problem I will give your co-ordinates a go and report back.
mine has no issue or whatsoever. working fine since...
my coordinates are:
502,498,862,771 859,223 138,229
hope this helps...
Never got no problems with it.
Coordinates are:
499,503 861,774 856, 231 148,223 142, 773
What a great discovery
Mine is a HTC Charmer (MDA Compact 2) on WM5. My data is very different
1928, 1960 3308, 617 3296, 3316
(WARNING! THIS IS NOT Magician configuration!)

Why don't you ask in the matching topic?
hey guys can you make a permanent fix for the disalignment bug of xda mini?
i have this problem...but i got a solution on this topic, but the problem is when you hardreset the ppc its going back again the problem unless you tweak it again in regeditor...
can the rom developers include this tweak for the upcoming cook rom for xda mini so that the screen disalignment can be fix...
thanks
to HyperMalac:
so, the solution is to change the coordinates with yours?? hmmm ok i will try it.. i (and my friend here) have the same problem. i thought this is LCD problem and cannot be fixed unless u change the lcd (as 1 of the member said) thx~! i'll let you know~!
not working
i have to constantly align my screen and even putting in the coordinates..it still doesn't work. I will be sending it back to the repair centre sooon.
dear all,
I want to ask how to open the registry in the WM2003?
I've installed the Total Commander, but after that I still confused what to do next.
many thanks
Open TC and open the "folder" named: \\. this \\ folder contains the registry...
NEWS:
Finally I've took my Magician to the HTC Europe Service Center...Waiting, for solution....Will post the result
Cheers
hypermalac....
so the reconfiguration in registry do not solve the screen missalignment problem? Coz I've try, but it seems no result, only the frequent of screen become missalign is decrease...
any solution for this?
Well, the registry modding, only reduced the misaligns, for me too. I saw somewhere on this forum that this problem is hardware problem, but I don't think so. Someone said, that the touchscreen has a factory malfunction. Anyway I'd took it to the service, an as soon as I get it back, I will post, if it's solved the problem, or not.
Cheers
@HyperMalac:
well, when u get ur mini back from service centre, ofcourse it will be fixed, no more sreen disaligned, for sure..
now, the problem is, why this happend to many people (from different countries) ?? can you ask the service center while they keep your mini : what is wrong with xda2 mini lcd?? why this disaligment happend? how can we avoid this?? how to fix (without send back to factory) etc etc.. please ask, if possible, ofcoz... thx alot
FYI, this is not the only problem that many xda2mini from difference countries get. other problem is after take the battery out for only 5 secs, you will get HARD reset. the backup battery is not functioning~! happend to me~! then sent mine to factory, they fix it but strangely, they change the MOTHERBOARD~!
ah, i think someting is wrong with HTC.....

Well, when I get it back, I'll ask your questions, if it's possible, and I hope too that the service give some solution for us, to avoid this problem (screen misalignment), without taking our magician to service.
Battery problem:
Changed the motherboard???Do you mean the hardware buttons?
Well, my magician works fine expect the sreen, so I haven't got any batt problem. But I will ask it too.
Cheers
Hardware Issue
Pretty sure this IS a hardware issue. Happened on my MDA Compact and got progressively worse.
No amount of hard resets, software configuration and ROM upgrades fixed it.
Came back from HTC good as new.
I have heard that using screen protectors causes this as it is touching the screen all the time.
I no longer use a screen protector so I'll let you know next year if the problem has come back again!
Hi there,
I've just acquired a new MDA Vario IV, which I believe is also known as an HTC Raphael/Touch Pro (I think). Excellent phone, very pleased with it so far, especially since installing the FuzeBerry theme.
However, I'm having a few niggling issues with it at the moment that you might be able to help with.
1) Keyboard layout. For some reason, since installing the above mentioned theme, the keyboard layout seems to have gone wrong. When using the phone in landscape mode, writing a text, the numbers along the top give completely wrong functions, pressing 1 opens the start menu, pressing 2 gives an @, pressing 3 gives an _, and so on. Pressing Fn by itself also opens the Calendar. I'm from the UK, and have set the keyboard to UK in the settings. No difference. The small on-screen keyboard works fine.
2) The phone screen goes off quickly after answering a call. I've installed Advanced Configuration, and set "Fast sleep during call" to Disabled... but it still seems to die far too quickly.
3) Is there a way to prioritise Wifi connection over 3G connection? I have both configured, but I don't know which one the phone will use first. If my Wifi signal fails, I'd rather it didn't use 3G at all.
4) Can the "People" menu under TouchFLO 3D display all my contacts, instead of a "Favourite" list?
5) A2DP. My last two phones were an MDA Vario II, and an MDA Touch. With the Vario II, on an A2DP enabled stereo, there was quite noticable audio distortion during some points of some songs. It seemed to happen when the sound was at its "thickest", ie) lots of instruments playing, particularly at higher frequencies, it would crackle and break up a bit. I always assumed it was the stereo's fault, until now. I've bought a Bluetooth/FM transceiver, now use a different car with a different stereo, and the exact same problem has emerged at the same places in songs. Is this an HTC/Windows Mobile issue, and does anyone have a fix?
Thanks in advance for any answers.
my screen on my i760 is not aligned at all, so i tried using remote screen alignment from code factory but that didnt work. So than i found that in the registry hkey_local_machine/hardware/devicemap/touch there is calibration data. can someone give me their calibration data to their working i760? thanks
Welcome to forums
As this is an HTC devices forum only you won´t get too much atention.
Some members here are working hard in a non HTC devices forum called winmodevs, have a look there
Good luck,

LOL my i760 screen is different than yours. If I give you my data it's not gonna work well on your phone.
Why doesn't screen alignment program work?
Anyway my i760 screen is very old and loses calibration after a week.
