ThemeGenCE How to Install the Themes? - General Questions and Answers

Ok, I created a .tsk file using ThemeGenCE, and it also creates a .ini .inf and .xml. Where do I place these on my phone? I have a HTC Diamond Touch, and as far as I know, I see Windows\AppsMgr\ And in that folder, there are folders for themes. For example, the standard theme it comes with is Guava Bubbles. Any theme has its own folder and a .tmp inside. A .tmp file isn't generated as far as I know.. Can someone help?

How do i skin psshutxp?

i'm using edhaas's fully loaded rom and it has psshutxp included in the rom. i found a skin that i would like to use and would like to know where the files are that i need to replace and what they are called?
can anyone please help me? i have everything else on my mda customized and i would really like to skin that program too.
Use Wisbar Advanced to skin psshutxp ... I don't know where to save them too or I would do it too, I have a couple nice ones, but don't know where to save them.
So does anyone know where we save the psshutxp skins?
After the initial install of psShutXP, create a folder on your storage card called "psShutXP Skins" Download your skin file folders to there.
When you want to change the skin, open the file folder of the skin you want to use. Copy and paste those files into the \Program Files\psShutXP folder and soft reset.
Thanks Newbie! always a fountain of info you are.
Think nothing of it . . . I never could stand to see "grown men" beg. . .
ha! I am having a problem though, I did like you said, installed pSShutXP, copied the skins I want into the programs/psshutxp folder.. but they don't show up, it still uses the default skin.

Hi, Copy the skin into the \windows directory and it will work.

I just copied the files psshutxp_skin.gif and psshutxp_skin_eng.gif from the following .zip (from their site) into the windows directory, and the new skin was applied automatically. You could try a soft-reset, but I didn't need it in my case.
Good luck!
See, that one worked.. but the Alienware one I have didn't work even if I renamed them the same thing.. I tap on the alienware one and I can see it when it open, but PSSHUTXP wont apply it for some reason
Sounds like a problem with the skin. Might let them know...
Good luck!

the cpr files that you get from \windows will be read-only, change the attributes and edit the files and copy back to \windows. i used activesync to copy, didnt give any issues.

[APP] Vista & Buuf Program Folders

I have been learning a lot about iconizing everything these last days, and I created some custom folders Vista style. So anyone ho wants to order his or here applications, here are some folders to put them in. They are VGA (tested) and should also be QVGA.
I named the folder 1 to 18, so everybody can decide for themselves which folder to to use for what purpose.
Since I use quickcab to create my cabs, which doesn't allow me put in the folder files, it's been split in two. A Vista Folders.zip which contains the Vista Icons.dll. Install this one in \Windows. The other one is a zip file which contains the Folder folder, with inside (who would have guessed...) the folders. Just copy them to your device (although I don't think copying them to the storage card works) and voila some more folders to up our devices. So, screenshots:
I hope you like them, and no I have not got any other folders (these are all vista offers)
Edit: I managed to create a .cab file that installs these into \Windows\Start Menu\Programs. For those that don't have a English/WWE ROM I'll make another one that installs the folders into \Folder folder.
Edit 2: Shrank the .dll file, link is updated to vista folders 1.1
There is one icon set that is very dear to me, which is the Buuf icon set by Manhattan. Of this set I have selected a couple of folder icons most likely to be used in a ppc environment. This guy (or girl) created over 1500 icons in this style which you can find on DeviantArt. These are my default folder icons, so I thought I'd share. Screen shots!:

Not really a theme per se, for the taskbar mods check here for the font check diamond forum there is a topic about all kinds of different fonts mine is call hand_police or something
I managed to create a .cab file, which installs the folders to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs, I will make another cab later that install the "Folder folder" into the root of the device, cheers 12
Updated The link to Vista folder with version 1.1

WM6.5 Start Menu Update

An alternative suggestion for an uncluttered, ordered Start Menu utilising some new Folders.... to utilise, simply:
1. Connect your TG01 via Active Sync / WM Device Centre
2. Unzip the attached file on your PC; browse to and select the \windows directory, copy and then paste on top of the \windows on the TG01
3. Standard shortcuts are already in place under respective folders; you can simply delete from the \windows\start menu or drag/drop into folders as desired.
Could easily be built into a ROM (I have in own personalised WM6.5 version).

View attachment 329533
A 'spare' icon is included (F_TG01.png) which can be used to replace the 'Settings' icon on the device if desired. This cannot be renamed via AS - use Resco or equivalent to rename the original ..\windows\Start_Icon_Settings.png to .bak and then rename F_TG01.png to Start_Icon_Settings.png
NB. It now appears that this is dependent on having SK Shortcut Manager installed and saving the settings.... idc I will see if it is possible to extract those and save as a .reg / .cab so can also be set up without.
Hey that's really nice I like this. Sick of scrolling through tonnes of junk lol. Btw, is that wisbar adance or a custom rom you are using? I like the start button. Thanks for uploading this matey I must try it when I get my new SD Card

[Q] Icon Set created as Cab, but some icons don´t change

Hi,
I created an icon set as a cab file. It works near perfect, but some icons don´t change. I´m wondering why
I used Win CE Cab Manager to create the cab.
Following Icons don´t change:
bing
the complete office icons (the outlook icon works)
in call recorder
flashlight
the folder icon messages
encryption
Does someone know why the icons don´t change?
Ben
I give up ´
I think i´ll releas the icon set as png files
use a regualr icon changer for those.. some things have multiple copys.. and the easiest way to attack them is brute force.
i know that, when i dont clear htc sense cache...
maybe this helps..

you have to erase the png files first then run the cab and all icons should change.
you have to add registry entries, as shown in the screenshot
my suggestion is to download my basic icons cab and replace the icons with those of your likings. make sure you keep the file names intact!
i use artemis rom which is very close to stock. if you use a rom with the icons organized differently, you'll need to change the registry entries accordingly.
pm me if you can't find your way
cheers,
antaed
@m0bmentality: Hell Yeaahh, you´re right but i´ll try it with the basic icon set of antaed
@mrkevinhall: Thanks for the tip, but i´ve tried this before
@antaed: Thanks, i´ll try it, maybe it works. I use the artemis rom, too

they are png files already, if you mean how to extract them: (with wince cab manager) go to cabinet>files>extract...
you will also find some qtc files, you don't need to modify those.
just extract the png files to a folder on your pc, replace them with your icons (use the same names!!!) and repack the cab.

IF you just set your pc to allow you to see hidden and system files.. then open up phone/windows in active sync they will all be there too

yes but in my reply to benalive i'm referring strictly to how to unpack and replace the icons from my bull's eye basic icon pack cab.
but maybe i misinterpreted his last question and he wants to know how to get original icons from the phone instead. if this is the case i'm sorry for the confusion, my bad...
cheers

@ antaed: no, i want to extract the standard icons of the hd2 in the windows DIR.
I replaced the icons of your basic cab, it works great. Thanks
I´ll release my icon set today
