Hi guys I'm searching Rhodium 2 Keyboard. I used the search function but I couldn't see the "phone keypad" foor vga resolution (only saw for qvga). 'Strange coz I already used a cooked rom, I don't remember its name, with this keyboaard inclueded for Htc Diamond and I got used too it now.
Thanks foor redirecting me...
That particular SIP is included in the HTC EzInput Suite. See Here

Can anyone tell me which of these HTC machines I should go for...
* Qtek 9600 / HTC TyTN
or
* HTC P3600
I would like to have WLAN, ability to use VOIP sip phones on it, useful for navigator, I would prefer QWERTY but not 100% important... on which one of them can I also use TomTom or any of the navigation systems out there...
thanks for more information
Tytn
if you edit and re-title/subject you're more likely to get responses from people who have either or both devices.
But my choice will be the Tytn because 1 the HTC P3600 is not available where I am, 2 I'd miss the keyboard after having a Wizard and 3 looking at the wiki, they look the same except for battery life and mine gets plugged into my pc every day and charges anyway.
B
thanks bbobeckyj for ur response... I wonder what sort of keyboard is with the P3600 as I haven't seen any picture or any info about this. I also think the TyTN would be nice for its QWERTY since using P990i small QWERTY made my writing much fun...
I am basically planning to get either one of this gadgets basically for VoIP over WLAN purposes & navigation since I own a SE P990i which lack the VoIP from Skype or any SIP soft phone but I wont mind enjoying easy texting to webpages and emails...
sorry,
I wasn't very clear, what I meant to say was that they look the same except the keyboard AND the battery life,
there is no board with the p3600,
B
please what is the board and what keyboard is with the p3600? I am new with these machines but I want to know b4 i make the final decision...
thnx
no keyboard on p3600
There is NOT a keyboard with the p3600. I was a little unclear in my first reply.
They look the same except the Tytn has a keyboard but a shorter batery life.
So basically, do you want a keyboard or a thin phone?
Sorry for the confusion,
B
i would like to have a keyboard but if I know what is on the p3600, i can decide properly. how can i type SMS on the p3600 if there is no keyboard or physical dialpad?
thnx
Tytn vs 3600
The Tytn (also i-mate Jasjam, Dopod 838 Pro) has a sliding keybord. Type in Jasjam or Tytn to Google and you'll get 1000 pictures. The 3600 lacks the keyboard, but has a functioning GPS chip that is only waiting for a factory ROM to make it work. Unless they can solve some hardware issues the Tytn will never have GPS so you will need a Bluetooth GPS receiver with the Tytn. It will them work as a Navigator. Check

for just one reference.

pda phones have touch screens and support you writing sms's in handwriting on the screen or using the software keyboard in the software
p3450. herald (i think) is halfway between the wizard and tytn. look them all up on youtube to get a good view

thanks everyone for the input..i do like TyTN for the keyboard as it is quite stylish and fast to type SMS or use emails but with that P3600, it will be difficult to achieve that. I am indeed interest in the GPS and faster system in the P3600 but since many things even needs to be solved on the model,I better 4get about it
I like the look of O2 XDA Orbit 2 much more than that of HTC Touch Cruise. And I'd like to buy it. But the problem is that it is not adapted for my country (Belarus).
I've looked through some threads of the forum but failed to form a complete opinion on some issues. So I want to ask a "direct" question:
Is it possible to buy a UK version of Orbit 2 and make the following changes:
1. Make it "understand" (correctly display) Russian and Belorusian symbols?
2. Make it correctly sort my Contacts (mainly Cyrillic) and display Russian alphabet in the right "search bar" in Contacts.
3. Get a standart 20-key Touch keyboard with at least Russian and English symbols (with specific Belarussian and German symbols accessible through "additional chars"). Possibly with "quick" switching between the Rus/Eng layouts.
4. Get at least Russian and English xT9.
And two more questions:
5. Is it possible to get Unlocked versions of Orbit 2?
6. Is there any GPS Navigation program that supports Belarusian maps? Not only main international roads, but normal city navigation?
I'm eager to recieve your comments.
I belive, there's a Russian ROM for the Polaris (or will be), and that should sort out most of your problems...
Resco Keyboard supportos several Cyrillic keyboard layouts, and there is a Russian t9 cab file posted already.
For the GPS... maybe iGO would support your country. At least it does whith most of the countries around our parts...
Thanks.
I'll give iGO a closer examination.
Concerning Russian ROM: of course I'll flush Russian ROM as soon as I find one. But the question is, wil - be able to achieve the results I want by installing different .cabs BEFORE I get Russain ROM?
And by the way, what "specific O2" programs do I loose flushing a Polaris (Touch Cruise) ROM on O2 Orbit 2 (like "Profiles" Home plug-in available on Orbit 2)? And is there any way to preserve/re-install them?
Still the question about unlocking: is there a way to buy unlocked Orbit 2 in UK or should I unlock it myself?
As far as i know, you'll have to unlock it yourself... there's a thread concerning th subject: link
Sorry, but I can't help whith the cabs, but there may be more clues in the Polaris upgrading etc. forum. I know the have similar threads (about greek language ). Maybe they can help you.
For the programs... you can always copy the cabs in the windows folder to your PC, that way you'll have the O2 programs (at least some of them). I have an original Polaris, so I don't know much about the O2 Apps...
Here's a quick list based on my exp applying Jp to the Eng rom.
1 Yes
2 No
3 Yes - 3rd party
4 Yes - 3rd party
Hi there!
I have installed WM6.1 (english), wich supports the qwerty keyboard (software) , but i have the qwertz keyboard (hardware).
i tried all methods to get this changed (registry, cabs and so on...) but nothing worked on wm 6.1 (changes in registry worked in wm 6.0)
can anybody help me please??? i'm searching since 1 week in the forum, but didn't find anything that helped me... perhaps i'm too dumb...
thanks
Hello! We have already a fresh german thread. Have a look at this, i think you will find what you a looking for.
Hi!
I installed "HyperDragon IV IOLITE CE OS 5.2.20765 Build 20765.1.4.4" on my Kaiser and the phone has a Swedish keyboard. I tried to find a tutorial how to get the Swedish key board both on the screen and on the "hardware keyboard".
(I probably suck on finding it)
I would be grateful if some one could help me true the steps.
could someone paste a link or help me?
getting the keyboard on the screen is easy since some SIPs have swedish built into them.
you can try TouchPal, Resco Keyboard, SPB Keyboard.. maybe there's a Diamond or Opal swedish keyboard in the forum.. just search
about your hardware keyboard.. i'm not completely sure it's even possible to use it with sweedish unless the SIP supports it.
Ok, thanks!
If there's any body who knows how to get the swedish harware keyboard to work, please reply =)
Is it any workable JP Input for HD2?

I can install the cab file sucessfully but cant type/tap any JP charaters with it.
Is it the problem of my HD2 come with the chinese support from HTC?
my ROM is 1.48.831.0 (71294) WWE
The one from the second link (Advanced IME) works on my HD2 (Rom 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE)
I installed LetsJapanWM61r07 and KeyTouchJapIMEr07.
Then, I installed Happy Taping Keyboard, which has an IME key to switch on/off the IME function. Then, I installed SIPChanger to make Happy Taping Keyboard as default. I also installed PQzII to see the status of IME (On/Off).
I put the regional setting to English (UK).
I have not tested the configuration for a longtime yet, but it seems to work with most applications.

Thx for yr kindly informations.
After few times of crash...hard-rest.....
Finally can tap Japanese after installed
LetsJapanWM61r07, KeyTouchJapIMEr07 and Happy Taping Keyboard,
But the others problems occur now,
I thinks its the problem in between mine HD2 is HongKong version,
HTC chinese support which have been installed by default.
without install any 3rd party software, we can read Japanese w/o any problem,
just lack of INPUT support.
Sure we have the chinese handwriting/taping support with it too..
After install the above tools,
i cant use the default ime to input chinese anymore....
>_<[email protected]#[email protected][email protected]%$#%!
what the ....
anyone have any solution?
PS,
in my point of view..
the fonts of HTC chinese support looks much clear, beatiful then others....
Sorry it doesn't work for you. As you say, there maybe some kind of software conflict....
Hello,
I hope you already found your solution by yourself, but I have also had similar problem on my HD2 with 1.48.707.2(71294)WWE ASIA ROM and found solution for mine.
I expect this information may help somebody else who wants to install Japanese IME into their HD2 (WWE ROM with HTC original Chinese support IME Touch Input 2.1).
First of all, I have already given up to configure this original ROM to make trilingual IME (EN,CN and JP) condition on my HD2.
This information will help ONLY for making bilingual IME (EN and JP) condition on your HD2.
I made it by flashing ROM (WWE EU/US 1.48.405.2) with Gold card method + "e-china for diamond" (with reloadnls.exe) produced by Asukal + "ATOK for windows mobile" + "ATOK update module" + "Fingerkeb2.1" + Japanese SKINS of Fingerkeb.
(FSKAREN also works instead of ATOK)
(installed .NET CF3.5 just in case)
I have attempted with same applications for original ROM but it had never properly worked at all ( I wasted more than 3days for configuring ).
If somebody wants to know whole story, I will explain it in other replay but the story is too long....
I DO NOT want anybody waste their time like me for this issue...
Thank you
well I'm trying to copy the JP IME from official WM6.5, which is how I made my WM6.0 WWE work with JP, not going well.
Where does one get ATOK for windows mobile from?

I was in the same situation more or less. Spent days after it and finally I got into something that allows me input but only in portrait mode since it looks like no wvga version is out yet.
My sequence (lol) brought me to have emoji too but still no true joy. The keyboard of FSKAREN in landscape is small and ugly, to say it all, so I was thinking about the "Fingerkeb2.1" + Japanese SKINS of Fingerkeb you mentioned.
I've seen the Finger Keyboard 2,1 thread but no trace of the Japanese skin so far.
Could you please link it here ?
Thanks in advance,
C.
I got it kinda working, but hiragana won't change to kanji
you must type, then select it and change...
I'll get another device to test soon.
another Q, what are
MsgStore.dll
helpstub.exe
imjp31u.dic
for?
When I made the Jp mod for WM6.0 I didn't need these files and it worked fine. But even then other cabs included them.
HD2 from HK, running WWE
It overrides wince.nls and thus it is impossible to install Japanese support on it.
I have programs that install Japanese support on WWE WM6.5 and inputs fine no the emulator but on HD2 it just crashes, or after install you still cannot select region settings as Japanese
Does it help?

Hi, I think that the problem is same as mine.
As you know that the wince.nls is always recovered by original ROM when each time of restarting your device. The reloadnls.exe is the program that overwriting nls file after recovered it by original ROM automatically. So you should have this (reloadnls.exe) shortcut file in you Start menu folder to prevent this kind of problem.
If there is no "Japanese" in list of region setting, means your modified wince.nls is not working correctly.
IME (Input Method Editor) crashes:
I am not really sure about the reason for this problem, but it seems be a conflict between Chinese IME and Japanese IME. It occurs on WWE ASIA ROM. If your device has the Chinese input support originally on soft keyboard, it must be a WWE ASIA ROM (I am quite sure that HK version is WWE ASIA ROM).
Can you check your "ROM version" from Start > Setting > About phone > Software information?
This is why I flash ROM with (WWE EU/US 1.48.405.2) on my HD2.
I installed ATOK and FingerKeyb 2.1 with WWE EU/US ROM, I don't have any problem about IME until today.
(You have to change registry - HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMessaging\Setting - chenge EnableHtcRichEdit 1 to 0 for solving ATOK conversion problem).
I hope this info helps you.
Regards,
I got Japanese support set now.
Installed IME, but it can't load. So lacking writing, but I got gesture10 that does the kana bit OK...
