[UPDATED 7/26 - v1.4] Pimped out recovery image with new features - G1 Android Development

This recovery hasn't been maintained in almost a year.
Use Clockwork or Amon_RA.

WOW keep it coming... Thanks for your constant dedication

nice, flashing now.

One thing I'd like to see is maybe a way to flash more than just update.zip - even if it's just being able to flash update.zip, update2.zip, etc.. idealy, Alt-S would scan your SD card for any files that start with "update"For instance, I'm stuck like chuck on the hero theme right now, so whenever I update my ROM, I have to restart and then reflash the theme. couldjust name them update-romname.zip and update-themename.zip

Epic dude, thanks for the quick response on this!

Thanks a bunch man, you're seriously awesome.

Lovely work.

Thanks man

This is a stupid question
how exactly do you use this, and do you type that command in terminal?

Do it in terminal. It is the same as JF recovery. Home and Power.

AWESOME!!! Loading it up now!
Thanks for you hard work!

this is nice I don't need to open my keyboard when flashing

thanks your the man cyanogen!!! great work!! you made the recovery more efficient!!

Hey, Just want to say thank you also.

Works like expected
trackball integration is really nice at the G1 - no more need to open keyboard

very nice man. thank you kindly

hey, minor issue, when i ran the ext fsck it told me it failed and run in console, i clicked on go to console and tried alt+x and the menu disappeared and the text at the bottom moved up a line but i did not get to the terminal in recovery, this makes me sad i tried rebooting several times into recovery and i can't access the terminal

im new to this kinda stuff, what exactly is this for, will it affect my rom?

Legend status achieved.
Thank you!

Cyan...
Couple of questions... please:
-In recovery... I hit "Alt-X" and I do not get a "prompt". All I get is "Build: CyanogenMod v1.0 + JF"
-If I choose the "Alt +M" option (AppsToSD)... is it applying this fix...
7. How do I convert to Ext3?
Reboot into recovery (home + power), drop to a console (Alt+x), and enter: "mount /system", then "upgrade_fs". Reboot and you will be at ext3.

Amon Ra's New Custom Recovery v1.2.2 (10/4/09)

This is available for the G1 and i think it might also work the Magic. It's got a lot of features such as partition sd and format ext 2/3 and so much more.
I managed to download it however i am having some trouble installing it. It has to be done through terminal emulator and the Magic doesn't have
a physical keyboard and the onscreen keyboard doesn't even pop up. Any help on how to install this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
Amon Ra's (New) Custom Recovery v1.2.2
To Install:
Copy it to your sdcard and open the Terminal Emulator app then type in this code:
su
(if a message pops up click always allow)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-dream-v1.2.2.img
Download NOW!!!

they have several terminal emulators that have the onscreen keyboard built in... orrrrrrrrrr u can always press and hold the menu key when ur in the program to have it open
go to the market and just type in terminal it will pop up with many diff ones that support the magic
I am sure he is quite capable of posting his own threads in this, or any other section, such as he did here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530492
the 1.2.2 update works fine on the MT3G, running it right now
I think this is a disgrace remove this thread i think amon is quite capable of posting his own work like he always does rather than getting in the lime light
Just to stay on topic, Amon_RA has posted personally in the Dream thread that this should work in a MT3G.

but for the magic you obviously need an on screen keyboard- you cannot access the onscreen keyboard, nor terminal from recovery. this is how they differ- and this is why Amon_RA has made dedicated Magic recoveries that you can use adb commands while in recovery.
I am sure he will release a magic version of 1.2.2 once he finishes up his 1.6 ion rom which he must be working on (I hope)....

I installed the latest recovery img on my Magic (32B) and I can use ADB commands just fine in recovery mode. I didnt know you couldnt at any point not use them.
What would rock is an onscreen keyboard in console... now that would be amazing to finally detether my rom flashing from the comp.

It works on the MyTouch 3G, trust me.
There's your proof. Enjoy.

is it even possible to get a virtual keyboard to work in console? through recovery?? please say yes, and that youve made this magical feature part of the update
Sorry to ad to this idiotic thread. All you have to do to use vk in terminal is hold menu button down. Numbers will not work in terminal so download a terminal that does or just rename file so it has no numbers in it. Its not rocket science you newbs make stuff so hard n complicated.

[ROM] CyanogenMod 6 For Vega (unofficial)

I have created the vendor files for the advnet vega based apon the cyanogen ones for the Gtab, and compiled CM6 for the vega. This is not supported by cyanogen's team yet as the vega isnt officialy supported by them yet so please take that into mind (dont ask for support on the cyanonen irc ect u probably wont get it) but feel free to ask support on this thred.
Nither me or the CyanogenMod team take no responsability for any damage caused bu this rom. by flashing it means u understand this risks and accept the risks.
What doesnt work :-
- Camera
- Rotation can be funny (if it works at all)
[UPDATE]
- Black Screen Of death can occur when rebooting (looking into this ASAP) so be prepared to restore
What works :-
- Every thing else (i think)
[INSTALL]
1) get the .zip file from the bottion of the post
2) copy it to SD card
3) reboot into recovery
4) MAKE NANDROID BACKUP
5) flash zip from recovery (you will get a boot write error thats normal)
6) reboot
7) DONE
[DOWNLOAD]

If anyone else wants to try and improve on this please feel free.

(Please note at the current time the boot.img that the compile creates will not work on the vega to u will have to make one by extracting the original ramdisk from the boot.img)
thanks mate been tring with cyanogenmod for gtablet..gonna try now. THis bad boy vega need some action
got error message:
assert failed: package_extract_file("boot.img" ,"/temp/boot.img")
E:Error in /sdcard/CM-6.2.0-Vega.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted.
edit: fixed.
I successfully installed, I put the original boot.img from vega into the zip, taking it for a spin now. Thanks Apache14.
I sold my Vega because of the screen imo wasnt great and the wi-fi issue.
Would have loved to have tried this rom though.
Good work !!!
Thanks to apache14 and everyone involved
How do we get market onto the tab. thanks in advance
Dunno about market any CM6 compatable gapps will work ..... also the adding boot.img isnt needed as there is no need to flash the boot.img (the stock advent one works pritty well for now)

Anyone working on fixing the black screen of death on cold boot a lot of people are getting with clockwork? I know there are enough people who don't have CW installed because of this that anything that depends on it will have a more limited appeal.

I have installed clockwork a couple of times and no black screen of death. Its straight forward.
Follow the instruction paul gave on modaco.
Download the Recovery image and flash utility and extract to desktop
open terminal
adb devices to make sure your device is connected
cd to the directory of file you just extract
then type
adb push recovery.img /data/local/
adb push flash_image /data/local/
adb shell chmod 4755 /data/local/flash_image
adb shell /data/local/flash_image recovery /data/local/recovery.img
thats done.
If you on mcr 6, the vega reboot recovery is already installed if not download from the market.
cheers

Yes, it's very straightforward. I've done it a few times too and followed the instructions. I still get the bsod as do a number of others. Without CM installed, no bsod...
Try power cycling your Vega back-to-back using the power button. I bet you'll get it to bsod reasonably quickly.
BSOD
Some people have reported black screen of death when rebooting with the power menu. so be careful and be prepared to restore (or flash stock boot, img again)

Note: Do not unzip the cyanogengenmod, just use winrar to open it and copy those files into it then close it

So I did all this, and now have a device that is....
... exactly the same as before but with CWR installed (even says it's MoDaCo ROM). The flashing process took only a few seconds and no boot write error. Am I missing something here?
EDIT: hang on... just realised the zip file was wrong!!
To get the market and apps
Download http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-mdpi-tegra-20101020-signed.zip, then flash using rom manager. then once you reboot you should get all your apps and market. enjoy

How To Turn S-Off, Install MoDaCo Clockworkmod Recovery, and Install a Rom For Dummie

OK, I've read a lot of comments about people having trouble installing MoDaCo clockworkmod, or even turning their devices S-off. But my guide is going to go step though step of how to turn your device into a lean, mean killing machine. It took me days to accomplish this when i first got my device, hopefully this will take you under 30 minutes! I'm a junior member, i know, so cut me some slack, PLEASE.
WARNING AND DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE. FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK, EVEN IF IT FALLS APART IN YOUR HAND, OR BECOMES GODLY FAST!
1. The first thing we need to do is turn S-OFF for your mytouch 4g slide. It is probably the easiest thing to do, other then installing a rom on your device.
a. You will need to download the usb drivers for your phone, DON'T SKIP THIS STEP, or you'll wonder why your phone isn't discovered by the software. You can find those drivers at this website right here:
http://www.htc.com/managed-assets/support/software/htc-sync/setup_3.0.5579.exe
After you have that software installed, plug in your phone, and give it a couple minutes to install all the correct drivers for your device, then make sure you go to the bottom right of the computer and exit out of that software, it can't be running when your trying to S-OFF your device. Now I dont think you have to have the fastboot drivers installed either, but why not, lets go ahead and download those files and get those installed too.
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/HTCDriver3.0.0.007.exe
After you have those installed, its now time to move on.
b. Now thanks to unrevoked and AlphaRev and their team, you will go to their site at http://revolutionary.io/ and you will scroll down and click on Download for Windows (If you can take everything I'm saying and do the linux version, right on!) at that moment a download box will appear, but do not download those files, download the files from this website http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BP2E3ZQ3 .But you will need to enter some information in the box below after you click on windows download, just remember, you don't need those files. Your operating system, device, HBOOT version, and serial number. Your HBOOT version can be found by taking your device, going to apps, settings, power, and uncheck fast boot, then power it off, i always power it off and then pull the battery out, makes me feel safer...and soon as its off, holding the volume down button, camera button, and power button all at the same time. You'll then see a screen with the android bots on the bottom are rolling on skateboards. At the top should be your HBOOT version, and there is only one option on the site, so hopefully your in luck! For your serial number, take the battery out from this screen, don't push any buttons, and on the sticker under the battery, your serial number will be there starting with HT--- or power your device back on, then go to apps, settings, about phone, phone identity, and wala, your device serial number. After you enter all that information into the site, it will generate you a beta key, YOU NEED THAT IN ORDER TO S-OFF AND ROOT YOUR DEVICE!! So write it down somewhere, copy and paste in word, do what you do
c. Now we have everything downloaded, we have our beta key, its time to get to work!
d. The file you downloaded from megaupload, "MT4GS-ADB-WINDOWS" you need to extract that file into a folder on your desktop. Make sure you open the folder mt4gs-adb, and extract the files out of the folder, so you should have 12 items in your folder on the desktop, not just a folder in a folder! I created a folder called "root mt4gs". You want all the files in one location. After there all extracted, open your folder on the desktop. On your phone, go to apps, settings, applications, development, and click on usb debugging and make sure the check mark is blue on the right. Now plug your phone into the computer.
Now in your "root mt4gs" folder, double click on revolutionary. At that moment it should ask you for that beta key i told you to save. Go ahead and enter that now (its case sensitive). Let the software run for a couple minutes....
Now after it says S-Off, your halfway there!! Your HBOOT will now say 1.44.1107. That way you know its done! It will ask you to install clockwork recovery mod, say NOOOO, it has hella problems. It gave me problems when i said yes the first time, i'll show you another way.
e. At this moment, we're going to install clockwork recovery v4.0.0.9, thanks to Paul O'Brien/MoDaCo, the gods lol. First, turn your device off/pull the battery out, thats what i do. Then hold volume down button, camera button, and power button at the same time. It should show you the skateboarding androids, and at the top it should say -Revolutionary- in purple. If it doesn't, don't continue, retry all steps or message me. Then plug your phone into the computer, and using the power button as the selection button, push the power button as your highlighted over FASTBOOT. It should say FASTBOOT USB at the top in red now.
Now believe it or not you already have the file you need in your "root mt4gs" folder. Your now going highlight all the files in your "root mt4gs" folder to the root of your hard drive. Click on My computer, double click on your c: drive, and paste those files right on there, do not copy the folder, or put these files in a folder!! Now your going open a command prompt. {Hold the windows key and tap r}. Then type "cmd" without the parenthesis and it should open up a black box.
Now type cd\
Your command prompt should now just say c:\> thats what you want it to say
Now your going to type adb.exe
You should see a whole bunch of words flash on the command prompt, the last couple words should say "bug tags are printed." That means your right on track.
From here, you are going to type in fastboot devices
it should have the serial number of your device and the word fastboot right next to it!
Now, here comes the tricky part that i got stuck at, but i know you can do it! Now this will work if you put the files exactly where i told you to put them. you now will type fastboot flash recovery c:\clockworkmod.4.0.0.9.img
it should say " sending 'recovery'
okay
writing recovery'
okay
finished. total time: (mine is 10.400s)
Now to make sure it's intalled, on your phone, click power button and you should now see fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock, and imagecrc as options, use your volume button to go down to recovery, and click power button.
You should now see clockworkmod recovery 4.0.0.9.
f. Now lets put superuser on your device so you can be free!
click on this file and download it, DO NOT EXTRACT IT
http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
Now after you have downoaded that file, on your phone, use your trackpad, and scroll down to "mounts and storage"
then scroll down to mount usb storage. now you should be able to put files on your sd card, make sure you put it on the root of your sd card, not in a folder, it doesn't matter, but i prefer it!.
Now unmount on your phone by clicking the option, click go back, and then scroll down to "install zip from sdcard" and click on it, then click "choose zip from sdcard". Find that file we just put on there "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip", and click on it, then click yes. Now click on go back, and click reboot system now!
Now if you want to stay stock, your done, your rooted, so now just install root checker, and busybox, and your good to go, if you want to do some roms, keep on reading.
Now you cross your fingers, and grab a soda, because we're 75% done!
g. Now is the easy part, all you do now is download the roms from other developers, copy them to your sdcard, then turn off the phone, hold volume down, camera and power button, go into recovery with using vol up and down buttons as the selector, and the power button to confirm your option. As you enter clockwork mod, you can then go follow the directions of the developer as to wipe certain sections, and how to install there roms/patches. YOUR DONE
If you have any questions, please let me know, also I didn't make ANY of this software, this guide just has every link to get you everything you need at one spot. I also have the original file to make your phone completely stock, so if you need that, let me know and I'll upload that and send the link out.
If you want to donate to me, donate to all the other og's first!

Ok let's figure this out.. on step f, you did unmount your sd card, right? I haven't dealt with this problem before so if I ask a stupid question, I'm just trying to solve this. Also you don't need to wipe anything to install superuser, so that could be the problem also, so reboot ur fone, and let's try step f again! Keep me updated please!

It took a lot of us several attempts to flash the superuser zip. The 4.0.0.8 recovery isn't the greatest. Keep trying until it installs and you get root. Then upgrade to the modaco 4.0.0.9 recovery right away. It's not perfect either but it fixes a LOT of the issues known with 4.0.0.8.
And a comment to the OP, this is an incredibly helpful walkthrough! If only people would actually search and find this before posting new threads like "how do i root" and all that crap.
Thank you.

Oh, now i understand. No there isn't. I don't have one at all, as soon as I installed clockworkrecovery, and superuser, I flashed undeads rom on there. And I've been reading that superuser is being buggy when installing it on this phone through cwm...I'll look into that tonight, see if i can find the root cause.

You probably just have to download ROM Manager from the market, I think that's what you're referring to. There isn't a whole lot of support for our device in ROM manager right now, however, and I haven't checked to see if the "reboot into recovery" works. Go into settings > power > and uncheck fastboot. Then, shut down your phone, wait 10 seconds, hold down the volume down button and turn your phone back on. That'll get you into recovery. Did you get superuser to install? Are you rooted?
Mine won't switch from "revolutionary" in purple at the top to "fastboot" at the top.
It says fastboot USB about 6 lines down, but that's it.
When I type "fastboot devices" it errors and says:
'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

READ ME FIRST!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I and/or XDA are not responsible if this bricks your phone!!! If this transforms your phone into a decepticon and shoots your eye out...
OK....what a few months its been...sorry guys been out of commission...car wreck...
Had to start over...so here we go..
First...You must be rooted...if not google it..
install your favorite root file explorer
install your favorite term emulator
ok got that...now the good stuff..
download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56403887/L45C_CWM_Recovery-v6.0.1.2.zip
or http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56403887/L45C_CWM_Recovery-v5.0.28.zip
this is the cwm recovery 6.0.1.2 compiled from source by me...it is only for the L45C...Cant stress that enough...had to make changes to graphics from source to get it to work...
also the v5.0.28 recovery because as of now v6.0.1.2 has no sdcard partioning support because it is new.
you can choose which you like best...
put on root of your sdcard ...
make sure the file name is recovery.img
now download http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56403887/flash_image.zip
this is the flash_image file to to flash the recovery..
unzip it should have the name flash_image
use root explorer to copy the file to /system/bin
open term emulator get su rights and cd to /system/bin and type chmod 0755 flash_image
now cd back to /
still with su rights type flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
if no output... wahoo.... if you get error start over
dont reboot yet...
go to playstore and download a app called Quick Boot its free and handy you want have to hold buttons to reboot into recovery..
ok...now the moment of truth run quick boot and choose recovery...you should get a su ask from superuser grant it....phone should reboot into cwm recovery...if it did... wahoo... you now have cwm
keymap is fixed and is like this.... search button to select.....return button to return..home button to scroll..
way better than before,,,to me any way...
still will get error about bad boot message but i will fix later it don't affect anything..

Hey ICE.....Is it suitable for Optimus Net P690 in India.....?????
Does this support custom themes?
p690f can't get qtadb to link phone/PC
Hi
I am stumped, as a complete novice to smart phone/linux.
At present my status is:
1. Phone is rooted, so I was able to get this done from my PC.
2. Now I have copied the recovery.img & flash.img to SD card.
3. I have Terminal emulator on phone &/or Sd card.
4. When in USB storage is activated & connected to PC, I can see all the files but on terminal emulator.
5. I have Qtabd on my PC but it will not 'see' my phone either in USB storage activated or not activated or in debug mode.
6. When debug mode activated, USB storage is deactivated. Seems both not able to be on.
7. In one of the XDA threads there was mention of 'demounting' the sd card so have also tried that in same combinations of SD/ debug.
I have been trying to sort this out on another forum but seems there is more info available on here.
I am having a huge problem tying to get Recovery working direct on the phone, mainly due to my inexperience on these devices, I am very happy to learn if pointed in right direction. Of course my concern also is not to brick the phone!!
Any assistance or links to suitable areas appreciated.
Whoops seems I posted on wrong thread, thought it was the similar one for P690, applogies.
WaHooo
I managed to finally get recovery activated using the terminal emulator on the SMALL screen of my phone!!
However I would still very much appreciate sorting out Qtadb connection as I am sure sometime in the future I will need to do some additions/deletions to my p690.
So, any info etc will be appreciated.
For any other Newbies who may see this,
1. To copy from a browser text long touch at start/end of text, then drag to high light.
2. To copy, touch highlighted area, you should get a message 'copied to clipboard'. To cancel, if you make a mistake like I made MANY touch some where else on screen.
3. With Terminal emulator started, (P690), after entering 'su' tap touch screen to bring up keyboard and select 'return/enter key'. This gives you Super User.
Long touch screen brings up menu withe 'paste',select.
4. To toggle back to browser, to same screen you were working on, hold down second key on bottom. This will bring up all the recent icons for what you were working on, select 'browser'. Continue copy line by line.
5. To toggle back to emulator, long press 2nd from left key & select emulator.
Hope this assists someone.
The p690 and this phone are not the same. This phone is from Net 10, idk about the p690, but this phone is. This one is also cdma. I think the p690 is gsm. They are NOT cross compatible. I'd brick my phone if I used a p690 rom.

Update please
Hi there. Been crack flashing my phone for a while and finally got my wife's phone rooted today.
Just wondering if anyone has had any luck flashing a custom recovery yet (eg CWM or Amon Ra)? If so, please post a guide. As I have been unable to find anything using my Google-fu.
Also, all your links were removed. So other than hinting at a solution. This thread is zero help.
Thanks in Advance!
My Phone: HTC Evo 4G (flashed to Cricket)
Wife's Phone: LG Optimus (LGL45C)
I have a question regarding etc..... Does your rom include a tun.ko file and if not do you know of anyone or anyway to run openvpn/droidvpn or just changeing kernels would be nice...
I can't root.
I have an L45C with 2.3.4 on it and it just won't root. I have tried: Gingerbreak, z4root, and unlock root, none of them worked. I tried gingerbreak a few times at day, and all night as I slept, but my phone just isn't rooting!
If any of you have gotten root please do tell me how.
no updates yet?
Can someone please post a link to this ROM? I had it but can't find ir and I need it bad, phone is semi-bricked and I have a corrupt backup. PLEASE!!

ROM/Recovery LGL45C
What are the results of flashing this recovery? Was it successful to flash as I have a backup for the phone that I have made thankfully.
results are great. For what little ROM development, this is the best we have. Its just a ClockworkMod recovery image and then a rooted ROM. I'm still using it to this day and with all the apps and tweaks I've added, this phone rocks!!
My only complaint is I'm running out of internal space so I need to figure something out with that. Maybe I will try to re-partition my card to ext4 and try to increase internal memory by like 100mb. Apps2SD only goes so far sadly. I'm also going to try to put Team Win recovery on after I make sufficient backups. Let me know if I can help.

I was able to install the CWM Recovery to the phone just fine. Realized what I was doing incorrectly. Now to test the only ROM's that I know of that are available for the Q from Area51. Are there anymore ROM's being developed. The L45C is not a bad phone, just needs more lightweight ROM's to work with it.

Fastboot + Recoveries (My Gift To You)

You can get it from here:
Fastboot + Recoveries.7z
I decided because it get's a little tad difficult to find what you might want or need for Recoveries and Fastboot, (I had a B**** of a time myself )
I'd thought it would be nice to offer my assitance, (because I haven't done a d**n thing to contribute since I bought the Q )
So here's a list of nice things I elegantly made for you (Don't ban me mods  :fingers-crossed: )
*What To Do*
For A Little Assistance:
Linux: go to folder and "Right Click" Click on "Terminal/Konsole"
Type "su" (without quotes)
Then copy/paste any of the following (not anything in parentheses)
fastboot flash recovery open_recovery.img (Open Recovery's Mod) (Skrilax_CZ)
or
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img (Clockwork's Mod) (Shabby Penguin)
or
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img (Team Win Recovery Pro) (arrrghhh)
or
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (Stock Recovery Image) (dunno)
Windows: Go to folder and press "SHIFT and Right Click" run command window (or something close to it)
Then any of the upper ones
Mac: I don't know how to use it, but hey it's here.
Oh yeah thanks to falln Saint, I have my favorite boot logo
It's an android popping it's head out on the Moto with the phone name underneath
fastboot flash logo moto.img
Hope I helped, Have fun :good:
SYKKNYZZ
P.S. I only made it easier to find the files, I didn't create them.
Real credit goes to the members on XDA who work their a** off to help us out. :highfive:
P.P.S. I don't come here often, but if there is any problems, I will answer them as fast as i can.
Why not just link to the thread, where you got the recovery? Including them all in one big .7z file doesn't make a lot of sense - if TWRP or OpenRecovery are updated, that .7z file you have is now outdated...
Just a thought - interesting to see the stock recovery tho!

Thanks arrrghhh, I just thought to make this simple as possible.
But I do like what is going on with the new roms, I have AOKP because Carbon kept glitching on me and deleting my savedata and setting it under a folder called 0

This isn't a glitch, it's a "feature" with 4.2.2.... Unfortunately the more 4.2.2 ROM's you flash, the more this feature will become apparent.

Yeah I realized that, but Unicorns are for Gangsters.
And I might go back to carbon, if it didn't delete my info even when I reboot normally after flashing. But thanks for your hard work.
Any way I can be a beta tester for any upcoming products?
I am staying a Q Fan until next upgrade on my contract thru sprint
Sent from my Asanti C using xda app-developers app
I had about 7 "0" folders when I browsing my phone's files looking for a cache'd boot logo...it was like one of those russian dolls with a smaller and smaller doll inside and could not figure out what the heck was going on, lol. Ended up deleting all but the first parent and didn't seem to cause any issues....free'd up a good gig or two of internal storage space! Good to know now what the cause of this was as I was experimenting with a lot of different recoveries around the time this happened. Thanks^^
Argh! I came to this thread hoping for a nice, organized place to find all the links/downloads I needed to fix my girlfriends phone.
Now I have to read, AND continue my search for the files. (mild sarcasm)
