I would like to have no picture or another.

I didn't read everything but most of them say that i have to change the picture in the .nbh file and set up the device again.
I'm not going to do that... It's too complicated.
Thank you anyway

Help after Rom Install

Hi everyone,
I installed a new rom from Helmi's .90 kitchen and everything works great, I strongly recomend it. One thing I have noticed is that I can not change the settings files for the programs that are installed via the kitchen. For instance I am trying to change the english.language.ini file for PocketCM but the file properties show that it is read only and (in ROM). Other programs do the same. I have tried to change the properties but it wont let me. I dont think it has anything to do with it but I do have the ext rom unlocked. Is this normal for ROM programs or am I missing something.
I have tried searching and have not come up with something so I dont know if this is something with me and my device. I have reflashed twice with the same effect.
I have an HTC Apache/XV6700
Thanks everyone, you guys are amazing. Timmay!!!

Why dont you post your cooked ROM here too. Is it English or Vietnamese?
Thanks
p/s
I installed the sdkcerts followed with this cab. I get the response "Sorry, your current display driver doesnt support this display mode!"
What's wrong?
thanks
Change driver from ddi.dll to ddivox.dll, It'll support rotation.
My cooked ROM have Vietnamese font only. It has based on shark's rom and has Landscape background (which is removed in orther rom)

Yes! I changed it to the ddivox.dll. It responded with a soft reset. Now my phone is dead at the splash screen. I am now re-flashing the ROM. ahhhhhh.....
BTW does your pBAR support Tornado?
Thanks
Hello, i have same problem and i resolve to change the driver to ddivox.dll but in this program the action change joystick in Landscape is grey and in Landscpae mode the joystick no change direction.
What's rong ?
thanks
ps : sorry for my english
LOL, we should have fixed the joystick orientation and screen refresh issue before releasing a new tool. Anyway, good job there.
I wish to remind all of u, if u use vox dll, the screen will not refresh itself, unless u press a button. As in, if your phone goes idle at 5pm, it will show 5pm even at 12am, till u press a button to refresh the screen

That's exactly my gripe with trying out new ROMs too. Getting the registry back to it's optimal condition takes longer than anything else in the process. I've gone to using Sprite to do a backup when trying out new software. Problem? Hard reset => run backup => back as new!

Yep, I second that - I have tried varius backup programs before, but they were very limited in case of restoring system databases, or locked files. I have bought Sprite Backup, and I can backup - change ROM - restore - continue working in 15 minutes, leaving everything in!

Never use this software...!!!!!
it makes my 577w crashed

Obviously you did not install the sdk or wntenquan as instructed. . .
Its your own fault
yep, smth wrong with your hands.dll or maybe even brain.dll... update them

Could someone please add WMtequan.cab into my TDM or nncuong's pRot so that no more people would need to HR if they forgot. I must say that I myself had to hard reset lately because I forgot to install the WMtequan.
Sadly, it doesnt fix the screen refresh issue, so its annoying especially when I want to know he call duration or the time

[REF]Dumping the Main Splash -- SOLVED!

Hi guys,
Just wondering if someone out there can help me dump the Main Splash screen straight out of the device (the first screen that shows up on reboot). I've noticed from shipped ROMs that the MainSplash.nb starts with a header that says "This is smartphone signature" in the hex editor. It is then followed by a lot of blank space and a few characters afterwards.
EDIT:
Here's the answer:
pdocread -S BK1G -n 1 -b 0x40000 -G 0x40000 0x00000 0x30000 MainSplash.nb
Unzip the attachment and double-click "splash.bat"
main splash?
do u mean to say the Smart Mobilty screen from unbranded device?
if u want that i can attach the .nb and even the .nbh file i made to flash the 'Smart Mobility' screen

No, I said one with the white background + HTC Logo but *no* 'smart mobility' words. I have seen several different ones and have extracted a few from shipped ROMs, but none that seem to be the same as mine.
BTW I don't think that particular memory location I mentioned is the same across all Elfs. hmmm..
Here's a picture of what the splash screen should look like for the Rogers Elfin.
As I mentioned earlier, it has no Smart Mobility on it.
I found one like this somewhere in another forum but it was in low-res (looked fuzzy on my phone) and the logo was too big.

kudos bro. i will check if any of ma friends have any newer splash screens.
Come on, let's try to dump it instead It would be more worthwhile and educational
Right, I am trying to backup my ROM for warranty purpose. I have download, ROM and ExtROM. I need the 'Splash Screen' I am trying to follow instructions from Wiki:
OPTIONAL: Backing up the IPL, SPL, Radio and Main Splash screen Usually people will prefer to have their existing version of IPL/SPL and Radio untouched when they flash a backup. You can find backups for these already on the forums and they can be flashed by themselves instead of with the OS.
You can also extract them from shipped ROMs with nbhextract.exe, provided that the components have the same version as yours:
e.g. nbhextract RUU_Signed.nbh
00_Unknown.nb is the IPL
_SPL.nb is the SPL
*_GSM.nb is the Radio
*_?MainSplash.nb is the Main Splash Screen
The Main Splash screen is the first screen that shows up on a reset and is rarely overwritten by custom/cooked ROMs. Make sure, though, if you acquire a Splash ROM, that it has the same image as the one in your device! You can find various Splash Screen images (and possibly yours) from the forums if you do a search.
Where do I find the 'Main Splash Screen'? In .nb format.
How do i integrate that picture into the 'HTC ROM Tool' to build the final ROM?
Thanks

We already know that you can covert a BMP to an NB, but the question is how to dump a provider-specific MainSplash that is not found anywhere.
I could probably make it myself but I'd rather figure out how to do it from the source first.
Keeping this thread alive
While flashing a new MainSplash.nbh, I ran SnoopyPro to see what was going on in the USB of the phone.
I noticed one command in the dump of the logfile:
wdata 30329 f42c9d7f
(0x30329 is the start adddress, and the next number is the size)
This was followed by some strange characters and then the contents of the actual NBH file.
I tried to do a pmemdump of some data starting at 0x30329 but it didn't produce anything of significance...
Here's the memory map of an Elfin, if anyone is interested:
v82000000-83000000 -> p00000000-01000000 1000000

vffffc000-ffffd000 -> p103c5000-103c6000 1000
The IPL is at 0x82000000, SPL is at 0x8c000000. The MainSplash should be somewhere after the SPL.

Yes, that's the one!!
But I'm still on the hunt for the memory location ;-)
I'll try to flash it. You are a big help... thank you and salam.
EDIT: Hmm... well the size is a little bit small, compared to my unmodified (other) Rogers Elfin. Where did you get this splash screen?

'unflash' Android NAND back to WM?

Forgive me if this is already solved...search function cannot find proper answer to resolve problem.
I used NAND method to install Android, work good with KaiserDroid, and I can get Bluetooth to work at minimum level, but too dangerous to release as it cause random shutdown while transfer files via transfer apk I make.
I need access to WM again to study related functions, I can't find solution how to reverse flash, since RUU need activesync, and I don't have flashing box with me right now.
Can someone please tell me if I can flash from Android NAND back to WM using only USB cable/RUU? I have HTC Polaris.
Pardon my English, I from Japan, still learning many things.
I may be able to provide help as soon as camera can capture and store image, but need time, as work is in schedule.

Had anyone notice some apks cannot resize properly and result in bottom screen croped by 10-30px?
I try to adjust in many way but fail, is this screen hardware related or more like software script problem?
Please enlighten.
change default.txt - if using haret - to 320x428
or flash 320x428 nbh if nand
it also affects what u can see in market
hi

i need to quit android and get back to WM but the bootloader just doesn't come out and it is pissing me off!!!

New theme installing help

I didnt want to derail the Leo homescreen thread so I decided to just make a thread.
I need help installing a theme specifically this one
"Nordpolcampers Glacier Theme."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920136
The last one with the clouds/mountains.
I've never put a theme before nor do I know how to use CHT2.0 at all. I've installed the "GTX rom," and know I need to change the rom for this to work.
So 2 questions.
1. Can someone help me choose a rom that this would work really well on.
2. Can someone give me step by step instructions on what to do to install and modify the theme to work like how its shown on that pic....as well as the CHT2.0 changes as well.
Thank you...for anyone that helps out and if noone does I'll let the thread die.
You might have better luck asking in the theme thread!
haha ok tahnk you for replying so fast.
I've already asked in the theme thread but didnt want to derail so I will just wait it out I suppose.
thank you.

Ok grifter I think I will answer that here
The rom I can highly recommend is steves elegancia rom. I had it on my HD2 for a long time and it works perfectly. Also it comes with cht2 preinstalled so that you can start right away
For flashing the rom. Well thats quite simply, but you should read some guides first and plz consider the risk. But if you want a quick guide by me. Just look inte the Roms thread and find out what radio is supported and flash that onto your device. Just conntect via Active sync or something similar and rund the radio exe and it will automatically flash your radio. After thats been done, restart your device and download the elegancia rom to your pc. Connect your handy again via active sync and then run the exe in the Rom folder. then the flashing will begin. Steve included a folder in his download with some widgets etc that you might install and which I recommend you you do when the rom works
Then for the Glacier Theme.
If you want the full theme just download and install the full theme cab on your device. Put the wallpapers for the Theme on your phone, too. Thats all. Change the Background via CHTE and then set your screen up as you see it on the screenshots, or as you feel best
Hope that helped you

Yeah I was wrong about the rom.
I put GTX on my touchpro and on my HD2 I put either the Dnick/or elegant because I was looking and the CHT said 2.0.
I havent changed my radio but I dont think that will hurt the rom.
Wi try right now thank you.
How do I get my screen to look like that?
Right now I was able to put everything on the phone and the clock/and notifications have changed I just still have lots of crap on the front screen and when you change pages they still look like the old rom.
I've never used CHT so can you help me out in this dept.
edit-
Seems my page indicator, soft keys, and the top bar dont change at all.
I keep trying to install and override the last one and restart but nothing has changed.

mhmh...well sry, but I really cant find the time
Well you have to make sure, that CHT v2 and the CHTE 2 are installed, before you install my cab. Then just go into the Start Menu and open CHTE and under Softbar check enable CHT Softbar. Then press menu and apply changes and again menu and exit.
Then when you are on your homescreen you can just long press anywhere and select add free link and then select the toggle switches and choose the ones you like.
I am pretty sure, that I wrote a very detailed guide on how to make my themes work on the first post of my thread, plz check back there
