Help - Treo 800w Won't Boot Up! - General Questions and Answers

Please help!!
My Treo 800w was acting a bit strangely (Bluetooth not working in car, text messages coming through as number instead of name, etc.), so I pulled the battery out to reboot it, and now it won't boot back up. The palm splash screen shows up, and the bar at the bottom gets about 1/4 of the way through and then it just freezes! I don't know what else to try except a hard reset, but really don't want to do that because I have a lot of data on the Treo that I don't want to lose. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any way to dump the data somehow? Any ideas are welcome!!
Thanks!

If you're not able to get past the splash screen, the hard re-set is made by pushing the comm mgr. , volce record button at the same time. Stick stylus in re-set hole on side of phone, phone should change colors with message on screen to send back to mfg. settings. Push the green hardware phone button. Device should come back on shortly after you do this. All data that was stored in your internal memory will be lost. If somehow you do get to the today screen without a hard re-set, go to the start-up folder in windows and remove (delete) Buttonflo from there.

Slow boot up speed

So i have got my HTC Touch Pro for half a year now, as time goes past i find the boot up speed is increasing or sometimes doesn't boot at all stuck at the Windows Mobile 6.1 Boot screen, now it takes about 1 minute to do a boot or sometimes i need to do a few soft resets. Anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance.
You may just be due for a hard reset. You could also try a registry optimization. It might just be worth doing a full backup-hard reset-restore cycle.
I'll second the hard-reset. Use some sort of backup utility for contacts, text messages, etc. I personally use Microsoft My Phone.

KforTouchPro problems.....

Hey guys, i've got a problem. First off, KforTouchPro works fine on my HTC Touch Pro, i can configure buttons fine for Morphgear, PocketGBA, SmartGear etc, it works wonderful. And as everyone that uses this app already knows, you have to switch the setting to MS IME before you launch your game emulator, or else you can't configure the keys. Well, my problem is, after i'm done playing a game, sometimes I forget to switch the setting back to default, and whenever i do a reset or shutoff my phone, it hangs at the screen right before it shows your homescreen and touchflo3d tabs.
Basically, for those that use EnergyROM, it hangs at the screen that shows you the black & blue background with the word EnergyROM 3.0 in the bottom left (or something like that, can't remember). That means you can't do anything at all, since there are no buttons etc for you to press as the home screen is not fully loaded, so basically you got a semi-bricked phone as no matter how many times i try to turn on the phone, it just hangs there, which results in me having to do a hard reset in the end.
To prevent this, you MUST restore the KforTouchPro setting back to the default setting, but sometimes ppl forget and this will cause a semi-bricked phone, which is very risky and quite dangerous.
So, is anyone else having the same problem as me?? Is there a solution to this??
And lastly, what's the difference between KforTouchPro and KforRaphael??

Backup files on non-booting Treo

Hello all,
I'm hoping this can be fixed, for my fiancée's sake, as she has alot of pictures and videos of our little boys when they were born and can't be replace on her Treo 750v, unlocked via code from Voda, it's still running WM5.
It started when she was sending a text, press sent, and randomly, parts of the list of messages starting turning into blanks, around that time it popped up saying low on memory, she deleted a installer cab for facebook, and the little busy circle appeared but did nothing and crashed the phone, so she took the battery out, put it back in and now all it does is boot with the Palm logo, goes onto the Windows Mobile splash screen then blank, pressing red brings the keyboard light on and makes the key sound, but doesn't do anything, all with the blank screen. The orange light flashs for loss of signal constantly, but the red charge light doesn't come on at all, and ActiveSync doesn't pick up anything. I can boot into the bootloader screen, which behaves as it should, getting picked up by windows. I have tried itsutilsbin, but does nothing as ActiveSync isn't initiated to try and pull the files off the device. And Google has only so much information.
So I'm pleading (nicely ) is there anyway to get files off a semi-bricked Treo? I am competent playing and messing around with flashing and upgrading, and willing to try anything to get all the files off it.
Hope someone can help!
how many photos can you fit on a palm without a memory card cant to much can it. Well have you tried ringing palm and ask them if they have data recovery. there is one very very very long shot like 1% chance that it will work and do not do this if you can not find a data recovery program for the palm is hard reset it if you can then run the data recovery software. I do repeat 1%!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say ring palm see what they say.

[Q] Green screen meaning booting trouble

Hello,
I'm using my TP for two months and there were no serious problems with it since now. Today I was looking for some things by Opera browse, when - suddenly - SMS arrived [yeah, that sort of things happens]. Because of my ability to destroy everything connected [bad word..] with electricity, WM [original ROM, version 6.1] froze - after few minutes it was still insensitive to any touch [and button, including 'power off'], so I pulled out a battery and turned device on. And here starts the drama - Windows didn't want to boot, just showed green sreen with WM logo, part of start bar and stayed like this for long. Now, having some more resets done, it freezes on the green screen, not showing anything else.
Ok, I know that probably the best solution would be hard reset now [actually I guess, never did it before, don't even know where to get a 'new ROM' <- don't see it on included CD]. Of course, but I have some important data there! If there's any other way to do it, or - at least - to get back things from main memory [especially messages and contacts], please tell me how. I repeat once again: it's very important for me.
Thanks in advance,
m.
