[Q] Unlocking Bootloader

So after everything I've read, once the bootloader is unlocked. There's no going back, right? No more software updates? No factory reset? No more warranty?
That is correct no more ota and your warranty is void.

Root and Warranty Question

When you root, you void the warranty correct?
But, if you flash the stock rom and remove the root (am I saying that right), you can send it in for warranty correct?
What is the difference (if there is one) of rooting and unlocking?? What is the relationship to the warranty with the unlocking?

I wouldnt mention either of them in a warranty claim. But in general, root will not void your warranty and you can easily erase it by flashing the stock rom. Unlocking the bootloader MIGHT void your warranty, and there's no undoing it.

Ha, no I did not mean I was going to mention them.
That is exactly what I was looking for though, thanks!
Can someone explain (or point me to a wiki) that shows what unlocking bootloader is. I rooted my epic 4g, but have never heard of unlocking the bootloader. What is the difference and why is it necassary?

new rom without unlockings

Sorry if this has been asked before. I did a search but did not find my answer. I have JB on now but it still is sluggish. I would like to install something like "clean rom" but it looks like any new rom the asus has to be unlocked. Is there any good roms where you dont have to unlock the tablet? I really dont want to void my warranty if I have to. I looked on the ASUS sight and the unlocker states that it voids the warranty? but is it the "software" warranty, support or is the whole device voided? I bought an exteneded warranty also. Would this void because the factory warranty voided?
Thanks
John
Try to do a cold boot first... if not, then a factory reset. . will cure of all sluggishness...

after unlocking root can be locked for warranty issues? as? thank you
No. As soon as you receive the bootloader unlock code from Motorola (even if you don't use it or root), your warranty is void.

Is there any way to unroot note 20 ultra, relock bootloader. Need to revert so that I may use warranty. Any help would be great.

I honestly need to relock the bootloader so that I may get a warranty on my device. Any suggestions?

Warranty is void now regardless, you have tripped KNOX 0x1 which is permanent
There's nothing you can do for warranty. Knox is a physical fuse that's checked for warranty purposes and it cannot be modified as it's physically blown on the motherboard.
