Your best option is to contact Microsoft.

you mean the firewall, that can block activesync as it is a network connection!

You can try as well to uncheck the "Enable faster data synchronisation". That caused some problems to me on my Touch Diamond. On the Diamond 2 I have it checked and no problems.
To be found as well under Settings->Connections->USB to PC

ActiveSync Problem

I am having a problem with ActiveSync on my phone an Orange M700 running the HTC P3600 ROM. It was working with no problems until a few weeks ago when it stopped syncing. I have tested the laptop with another PPC and ActiveSync notices it straight away.
I have installed ActiveSync 4.5 to no avail so I returned to 4.2 and still nothing. I deleted all partnerships in both the phone and the laptop and when I plugged it back in the Windows saw the device as there was a pop up bubble in the bottom right corner but ActiveSync never kicked in.
I have had a look at the ActiveSync settings in the M700 but everything looks fine to me.
I have also been having problems with my 3G connection not connecting and doing the regular syncs it normally does e.g. my personal mail every 5 mins, my yahoo mail every hour and the weather every 2 hours. The only thing that has changed in this time is that I installed Fring, I can't imagine its related but I uninstalled Fring just in case but still no luck.
Anyone got any ideas how to fix it as I have some new appointments (I'm not sure which ones) in my PDA which I want to get synced before messing around with hard resets etc.
Thanks
Did you delete any notifications of any kind, usually replog files? If YES, then you just deleted your notification to activate Active Sync on your computer. You can solve that easily by returning the file. READ this for the solution: http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc/blog/index.php?entry=entry051203-201515

I don't think I did that but I tried the file anyway, still no joy. I think my phone is also vibrating when I plug it into the PC now, very strange.

Have you ever used Check Notifications? It is a free software to clear away JUNK notifications.
Link: http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/cn_overview.html
Sometimes, our PPC just creates duplicates of certain Notifications that can cause conflicts with some softwares. Maybe this is what is happening in your device. You can try and download Check Notifications, even though it says it is only compatible with WM 2003, I use it for my HTC Universal (WM5). Just go to Check Notifications settings and tick the 3 choices, run it and CLEAR those pesky bugs.

Right I ticked the three boxes and cleared the issues but still nothing
Normally I'd just hard reset but I am worried about losing appointments I've forgotten I have made since my last sync.

I don't know what else to suggest.
If you do decide to HARD RESET, take a look at this FREE BABKUP program for contacts and calendar events: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705&highlight=backup
I hate doing hard resets myself, that is why I have SPB Backup configured to do automatic backups everyday at 5AM.
Good Luck...

Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure how I am going to progress this. My major issue is that we use GroupWise at work with a third party app to allow the PocketPCs to sync with it. When you set it up it blanks the device before you can do anything, if I wait and import everything after this it usually can't cope with the levels of changes and kills the system on the server.
Oh joy, why wasn't someone looking at the "bigger picture" when we choose an e-mail system.....

Disable "Pocket PC sync wizard"

This is driving me up the wall. I do not want the stupid "Pocket PC sync wizard" starting up every time my phone is plugged in. I use Direct Push for all my email/contacts/calendar/etc, which is tied to my home mail server for my home domain. On my work PC, even though ActiveSync recognizes that I'm already configured for another Exchange server, it's trying to force my home contacts and stuff to my work account.
This should be a very minor issue, but of course, in typical MS fashion, unticking "Open ActiveSync when my device connects" doesn't do a thing. In the past, I've been able to use Q270136 to disable partnership and set ActiveSync to "Guest Only", which got rid of the stupid sync wizard popup. When I browse to HKLM/Software/Microsoft, there is no "Windows CE Services" key. I tried manually creating the key, and then the DWORD value, but that didn't work, either.
The only thing I need to do is be able to browse the device occasionally, add/remove software, flash ROMs, and send/receive SMS using MyMobiler. I don't want to sync over USB.
Can anyone help me? Could this just be a thing on work PC? I'm running XP-64 Pro, along with ActiveSync 4.5.
Thanks in advance.
Maybe a workaround would be to create a partnership and just disable all 'syncable' items.

Already tried that. The first synchable item is "contacts". When I uncheck it says:
"To proceed, ActiveSync must remove all Contacts on your Pocket PC. Do you wish to continue?"
I hate this stupid POS program...

Sprint Touch Pro OTA Activesync Not Working

Hello,
I just got my Sprint Touch Pro today.. But it will not sucessfully grab my email, calendar, and contacts. The phone can browse the web via the evdo, I was able to configure the settings to point the phone to my works 2003 exchange server (sp2 I believe) when I run activesync on the phone it connects to the server, looks for changes, sees my various emails, calendar, and contact entires and lists them as a number.. but the progress number just jumps to complete not actually transferring the various items.
I do not get any stop errors on my phone.. what do you advise I do? The phone is great, but if it cannot sync up with my server then what is the point... I feel like i have hit a brick wall. Any and all advice is truly appreciated!
~Nrinzema
well i dont know what to say i mean your phone recognizes the sderver but it will not sync the items hmm. . . im lost for word ooo yea microsoft
I was actually quite impressed by the exchange server setup and sync. Just put in my email address and pass, and it automatically configured everything. Went back and tweaked how many messages to bring and such. I thought it was pretty straightforward.
Since I have email going back years, I used my wifi connection to speed things up.
Go to Start-->Settings-->Connection Tab-->"USB to PC"
Then uncheck "Enable Advanced network functionality"
See if that helps.

two issues with my fuze(fixed)

honestly, I tried to fix this myself I searched the forums for a fix but i just cant find something that works.
The first issues is my phone wont use the web. I get this error every time I try to use opera
"ERROR! The remote server refuses to perform the request. The address is available".
this used to happen rarely on my phone before i updated my stock ROM. I was able to fix it with a soft reset, but now I cant do anything to fix it.
Second my phone will not sync with my computer so I can't add/remove files from it. when I connect it I hear a double tone sound from the PC and then nothing happens. my phone used to give me an option on what to do when I connected the usb cable. now nothing happens.

Any more info that you can provide. Such as ROM type version. Radio. This will help us to help you.
oh crap, i forgot.
I'm just using the stock att fuze rom and radio(1.14.25.35) from the official update.
To fix your problem with Opera, open it up and goto the address opera:config
Then go down and click on proxy and clear the fields for http server and https server. Then hit the save button.
As for your syncing problem, what version of windows is on your pc? If it's XP, launch active sync from there and goto the options and make sure the option to allow usb connections is checked.

Okay, i fixed it!
go to your connection settings and then to "USB to PC" uncheck "ask me frist..." save the settings then soft reset your phone and reconnect your usb once it has booted. then it worked(did a bunch of crazy sounds). went back to "USB to PC" and added the check mark and now its acting like it should be.
Thanks for the help guys.

Can't synchronize with Activesync!

Hi all,
It driving me insane that I can't work it out why Activesync is not syncing my phone.
Here is the situation. Got the phone from my brother. With him it synced fine, with USB cable, with Outlook 2003 and WM6.5.
I have the same setup but Outlook 2007.
What happens is that when it connects, it finds the device, I only set it to sync contact, tasks and calender of outlook. It then says "Looking for changes" and soon after it says "Synchronizing". But then it hangs.
I searched the forum and the internet. I tried reconfiguring, soft resets, installing CompanionLink (software that works through Activesync).
No joy!
I simply want to be able to keep my contacts, calender and tasks from outlook synced. Nothing more.
Any help!!?!
I had the same problem when i used Active Sync from XP, but i works when im using Win7.
Try deleting all the Active Sync settings and make the configuration from Win7. When i did that it worked when i connect to the PC with XP - strange but true...
Ok. But what do you mean with "make the setting for win7"?
Yay! Got it to work!
Funny that I had the feeling in the beginning that it might be the amount of to-be-synced items was going to be too big. And somewhere on the net I found someone with the same idea.
I disconnected the device (usb cable). I removed the device from the "file" dropdown menu. And reconnected the usb-cable. When prompted with the wizard, in the settings I deselected ALL the to be synced categories.
Then it found the device and it synced... nothing.
But it said it synced.
Then I opened the option menu in Activesync and added only the contacts. And hurray! It started syncing. Then I added the agenda and hurray again!
The only thing that happened is that I ended up with duplicate contacts and agenda items. But after an hour I had that fixed too.
Note: Although I don't think that it contributed to the solution, I did reinstall and soft-resetted the device before I did all this. Just to let you know...

Try this:
1. At setting | connections | Run the the 'USB to PC'
2. Uncheck "Enable faster data..."
3. Uncheck "Ask me first about USB...."
4. Soft reset phone & PC
5. sync again.
Note: This may enable activesync works but file transfer from PC to Phone/Storage will fall back. may need to swap the setting back.
HOPE it helps.
