Doesn't that just wake the keyboard? And not the screen?
Get a registry editor (Total Commander, Resco, Regedit... whichever you prefer)
Go to
HKLM/Hardware/DeviceMap/Keybd
edit the existing key of SlideWakeup or create the key SlideWakeup as a dword value and set to 1 to enable or 0 to disable this wake up on slide out.
Soft reset and enjoy.
This should work on any device (with a keyboard) any rom. 6.0, 6.1 or 6.5.
Personally, I hate wake up on slide out as it causes the phone to wake up in my pocket and always have to add this key to disable it.

Is there any option / registry hack how to disable keylock in touch pro?
HTC Touch has an icon - keylock - in the settings, but HTC touch pro doesn't.
It is very uncomfortable to activate (not start, but turn the phone on from saving state) phone via power button.
Maybe I have an idea for new useful program.
Once the display is off, make a round with your finger around the main button on the sensitive desk (like if you want to zoom the page in the Opera). This could be great.
Anyone knows how to disable automatic HW keylock?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Milan
you should ask the raph owners in the appropriate thread.
BUT! on the diamond, you can disable the key lock in settings.
Sorry for wrong thread
I know how to do it on diamond, but I don't on raphael.
in registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd
set:
defaultkeylock
from 1 to 0
Then soft reset.
touch pro has it in settings under the system tab for me (was just educated on this earlier)
In standard ROM Keylock for setup wakeup key missing. It is possible set up only password.
Any idea how to get it back? I want traditional keylock back
hi, i can't seem to find keylock application that locks all hardware buttons but power when device is on sleep mode. have you got it on yours? i had it on my old tytn II
do you have a
settings->buttons->lock ?
no. have you? i've got only Program buttons, Up/Down Control and backlight tabs there
hmm...you mean setting up a lock to turn off all keys until you hit Unlock then confirm by tapping the key on the screen?
Press and hold the "End" button and that locks the device.
It is configured under start>setting>Long key press.
MIGHT NOT be the thing you are meaning though.
no, you know when you pres power button phone goes sleep mode? there should be a setting where you can decide if you want to allow other hardware buttons wake phone from sleep or other wise.
currently which ever hw button i press phone wakes up i.e send (green) button, terminate call (red button) or action (round) button.
this is no good when phone in your pocket. a small touch to any of them wakes phone up. i thought it is standart wm option as i had it since wizard
Hmm, when i power off the only thing which will power back on is pressing the power button, opening the keyboard or removing the stylus?
I've just got a touch pro and when I power off, no other buttons will wake up the phone.
That being said, I still have my Tytn II and the Key Lock application is found under Start...Settings...System...Key Lock. The Long Key Press app is not what you're after.
It seems strange that your Touch Pro wakes up on any button push. Maybe you need to change a registry setting instead?
wierd ; on mine apart from those, any button powers it up. only config tool i used is advanced confing and there isint any setting regarding this on that tool

do you know which key i should change?
On touch Pro there is no Keylock option in the settings.
Only way how to activate the device is to:
1. press power button
2. open the keyboard
3. take out the stylus
There is no config like on the HTC Touch/Diamond.
I've contacted Julien Schapman, vendor of advanced config and asked him to add this settings to his application.
this is his answer:
Ok I will look at it when I could get a Touch Pro.
Best regards,
Julien Schapman.
So I hope his new version will have this settings. This is really missing.
But maybe someone is able to export this registry path on the HTC Diamond:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\OEM\KEYBD
there should me something like
"KeyLock"=dword:1
Or maybe another. I don't know.

very cool app to unlock and lock the phone.
Tested and works on touch pro.
I'll be replacing S2U2 with this!

It should be in the \Windows directory:
\Windows\Keylock.lnk
\Windows\Keylock.exe
Create a shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Settings
I don't have this in my HD2 - any ideas if it can be installed seperately?
No idea as I have an at&t Fuze and this is a RAPH/TP/Fuze forum You might have better luck if you posted a link to this thread in the HD2 forum? Also, an alternative to s2u2, check THIS thread (QuickShutdown)

I haven't KeyLock in my ROM by default too, but I found it on another forum after many hours searching in the Internet
Unpack it and put enywhere (in example: "Windows" or "Program Files" and run).
Greetings.
Hello everybody
Today i flashed the new official rom on my topaz.
But i`ve got one little problem. When turning of the display the lockscreen doesnt activate automatically. So i first have to press start and then press lock.
Isn`t there another way? So when you turn of the display it automatically launches the lockscreen.
Thnx

Thnx.
I tried it but it doesnt work...
there is a reg edit to lock the display when the screen dims.
Can't remember where it is but it's lockenable under control/backlight i think..
It will auto lock when you turn off the display as well...
Just use some reg editor and search for "lock", you'll probably spot the key you're looking for.
I use http://montecristoff.webs.com/diamondtweak.htm and there I activated automatic lock, and everytime I press the power button the phone locks and the lockscreen is on. Hope that helps.

no need for any of these 3rd party apps, this was a major niggle of mine with 6.1 and 6.5.
Use RegEdit (if you have it by default with winMo 6.5) or use TotalCommander, navigate to the following registry option:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable
and change the value from 0 to 1, save and exit.
Now when you use the TD2 power button on top of the device to turn of the screen it will automatically lock the device too.
Worked on my TD2 using original 6.1 ROM and the 6.5 Leo cooked ROM's from Dutty I have used in the last month.
this is well documented tip in these forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570757
There is nothing like autodevice lock in official htc 6.5 rom. There is HKCU/controlpanel/backlight/locklevel. I changed the value from 0 to 1, soft reset and nothing happened. I`ll try some of diamond tweaks...
...sorry, double post...
Hi there, does anyone konw why after a period of time the lockscreen will only show upper half instead of full screen? Any solution there ? thanks.
easy solution
found it out the other day myself, but seemed to had lost this post lol
if you hold down the 'end call' key, that will lock the screen for you, save you having to go into start then lock
6.5.1 Build 23504
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable
Toggle from 0 to 1
How can I change that in the register?
Do I need an app for that?

As I mentioned back in post #9 you can use RegEdit in WinMo 6.5 or download and install TotalCommander to edit the registry, there are many other registry editing tools out there as well just, search for them

Works for me Dutty 6.5 Leo HG R1
I just tried a lot of key-combinations and I got one that works (for me...).
If you press the home key (don't release it) and then press the powerbutton. Now it will normally lock the device.
(It works for me, on WM6.5, original HTC rom.)

I tried that. It is OK to lock the mobile when the backlight dims or when putting the mobile to sleep.
But I wouldn't autolock the screen when the backligt dims, only when putting the mobile to sleep (manually or automatically). A solution generally for WM6.5 or particularly for Topaz - Duttys ROM?
Does anyone have a CAB to automatically put a slider lock to keep from phone butt dialing people in its case? I do not want to use the device lock with the passwords .....
Please help!
Mike
HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable-----------> set to 1
Where do i find that?
I am learning slowly
use a registry editor, like total commander.
either that or you can install S2U2 http://ac-s2.com/. click on S2U2, and download the VGA/WVGA cab and install on your phone. it's just like the unlock system on the iPhone

Doesn't work on my TP2
Edit: Ok, if I set a PIN it works - but then I have to slide first and enter the PIN each time I turn on the phone.
Screen Lock
This is something highly desirable to me too, on Touch Pro 2.
I tried a couple locking programs (2EasyLock & Pocket Shield). I didn't like 2Easy. PocketShield worked well with WM6.1 but problematic with WM6.5. I did not pay for either tools so not going to complain to customer support.
I found another Reg entry, LockScreen but after changing it, there was no change to lock. Even after soft reset (shut down, boot), which in this case, the entry went back to 0. I'm not sure what this entry is for or the exact options, but I tried 1/0.
HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\LockScreen
Is it possible to change the left soft key from Phone to Lock Screen?
There exists a hard Phone key already.
Thanks.

I've these 2 apps already, how to do it?
To change the left softkey to lock with S2U2, do this:
Install a registry editor. You can get a free one here: http://freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/HTC/manila/
Change the value for HomeLSKPath, to this: \Program Files\S2U2\s2u2.exe
Change the value for HomeLSKText to this: Lock (or anything you want for the name of the button)
But....is it possible, to make a link to the build-in Lockscreen?
Greeting
Toni
I don't know if it's possible...I don't think the built in lockscreen has an exe file to link to.
Do you know how to set the left soft key to the Tasks? I've tried using a regedit and changing the Path to \Windows\Tasks.exe but get an error when I try and use it. Also tried setting it via BsB Tweaks, afterwich, the name Tasks is on the front screen but when I push it nothing happens.
I really thought changing the regkey (as stated above) to \Windows\tasks.exe would work.
Any help on changing the left softkey to Tasks please?

thanks for your information.
Actually I have already configured like this.
However, the performance of loading lock screen is poor.
In fact, I'm using the latest version of S2U2, which is version 2.30.
It supports a new feature to replace the default wm lock screen.
That is, if press "start" and then press "Lock" button at left softkey, S2U2 lock screen would be called.
I've tried to compare the performance of following 3 approaches:
1. turn on the new S2U2 feature to replace original wm lock screen
2. putting S2U2 icon to the quicklink at Manila home
3. modify left softkey of Manila home by S2U2 using above method
The result shown that 1 is the fastest but 3 is the slowest, even much slower than 2.
So, if it is possible to "copy" the Lock button from Start screen to Manila home screen, then it is perfect.
