Just to let some people know what I had to do was flash down to 5.0.2r5, setup the exchange account then flash back up to 6.0r1. I have also figured out how to port over the Google camera to H build if you would like to know. I do like HTC cam but it was breaking my Ambient Light Sensor and Im not a big person of taking alot of photos with my phone and would rather still be able to us Ambient Light Sensor over the nicer HTC camera. Let me know if you would like those steps as well.
1) Copy Haykuro 5.0.2R5 rom to root of the sd card and rename it update.zip
2) boot up into recovery via Home+Power
3) Alt+s to flash rom (I as comming from JF 1.51 so i had to do a whip after flashing)
4) Reboot
5) After phone boots up (And you go though the setting up Google if you wiped like me)
6) Setup Exchange active sync on the 5.0.2 rom
7) copy haykuro 6.0r1 rom to root of sd card and rename to update.zip and power off phone
8)boot into recovery again and hit alt+s to apply 6.0r1 rom and reboot once done.
after that it should keeps the active sync settings.
ps at work we are running Exchange 2003 with active sync enabled with OWA. You might have to contact your IT dept to have them either enable active sync for you account. Also i dont know if this works for Exchange 2008 as i have no way of testing this.
i just tried that and my exchange still didnt work.
how exactly did you get your to work?
Would be nice to get a step by step on how to get exchange working.
Yes, this doesn't look like a how-to at all. I've never seen Exchange working and I've flashed every single released build onto my handset.
K here is the step by step
1) Copy Haykuro 5.0.2R5 tom to root of the sd card and rename it update.zip
2) boot up into recovery via Home+Power
3) Alt+s to flash rom (I as comming from JF 1.51 so i had to do a whip after flashing)
4) Reboot
5) After phone boots up (And you go though the setting up Google if you wiped like me)
6) Setup Exchange active sync on the 5.0.2 rom
7) copy haykuro 6.0r1 rom to root of sd card and rename to update.zip and power off phone
8)boot into recovery again and hit alt+s to apply 6.0r1 rom and reboot once done.
after that it should keeps the active sync settings that you created in the 5.0.2 rom.
I'm confused as to why this would work.
is this just to get activesync working (to sync via USB) or are you talking about adding the exchange account properly (to get mail via the OWA url)?

Well at least for me exchange worked fine for me when i was on 5.0.2 rom. Then I switched over to H's adp 1.5 and lost exchage but I still get to my work email through IMAP so i wasnt that heart broken.

OWA kinda = Active sync. It provides the gateway into the exchange server for active sync to work. OWA is a modual needed for internet sync unless you want to expose your exchange server to the internet
so essentially you're using the previous rom build to setup/configure the account then flashing to the current firmware without wiping, and it's working?

Much to my delight yes
I could see that being viable. The issue that we're seeing with the 6.0 builds is related to account creation/configuration - perhaps once it's setup it would work. I am running cyanogen's builds of the US image at the moment but I'd be interested in attempting this at some point. I'll try and mess with it tomorrow at work if I have some free time.

Yep i noticed that most of the ppl that were still able to use active sync were coming from 5.0.X builds where it would of already been configured.
meh nothing better to do at work, flashing back to 5.0 now and I'll see how it goes.

I believe it's exchange 2k3 - unconfirmed. and activesync/owa work -- moxier works fine as well. Not a big deal, I'm apathetic about it at this point and pretty reliant on moxier

A: I removed the build.prop file completely in hopes that it will work without it, did for me... you tell me
Q: What took so long?!?!
A: I had H1N1, b|0W me.
Q: Does this work with AOSP?
A: doesn't look like it, at least not so far, I did adjust some build props right from them but never got any feedback to let it out to the masses.
Q: Does this break CM-Updater?
A: No, it shouldn't.
Q: Do i need to reflash this every time?
A: if you want navigation, yes. Every update reverts the build props back to the old ones.

1. First navigate between 2 USA addresses (just enter them in to get the navigate option to show up)
2. Make a shortcut on your home screen with the address you want to navigate to.
3. Make sure turn by turn is checked.
4 click it nub.
5. drive to the location
6. brag "o mai android is wai b3tt3r thian UR ip0ne."

Might have something to do with 32A board.
Didnt work on my 32A Magic, i lost all connectivity after flashing this, no 3g, wifi, or anything. Anyone know how to get it back?
Update: Didnt work on my wife's 32B either, lost all connectivity as well.

New maps but no navigation
I would be careful with this app. Sure it's nice to have it running on your Magic, but remember when Cyanogen relased his ROMs with Google apps included?
Pulling this Google Maps from any other ROM is in clear violation of the license.
I'd prefer that our community stay legal and not attract any negative attention.

good point, but it seems to me that Cyanogen is the only one that is following that rule. Dwang and Amon_Ra have stock ROM's that include the google apps as well, but they don't get any legal action taken against them, but I don't know why this new rule only applies to Cyanogen and not everyone else. All the Hero ROM's also include Google apps as well. It seems that the violation of the license has only affected Cyanogen and it seems unfair to me.
agreed. and if i get one it comes down, thats just life
No service No Maps
I've got a Rogers 32a Sapphire running RAv1.6.2. After installing the update I had No Service, APN setting were Blank and the maps app had a new icon and it Forced closed when opened every time. I did try clearing the maps cache and restarting the phone, but it didn't help.
I made a back up before installing the update, so its all back to normal now. Have any suggestions on what went wrong or anything else i can try to get it working??
Thanks

This probably should be in the first post. TTS needs to be installed.
Just wanted to say thanks man. I used it to get home today. It was nice seeing it resting on my cars instrument window just behind the stiring wheel.
I got this working on my 32A rogers.
I used the CM 4.2.4, and installed "[EBI1/32A] CyanogenMod EBI1/32A Port 4.2.4" - thanks Radix999!
It didnt work at first, so i did the clear map thing, and it still didnt work.
So then I downloaded google voice from market, installed it, then uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, and now the navigate option is available! - thanks xEM1x for the tip! - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4936615&postcount=55

I disagree. I got it working on my 32a. I'd like to share how I got it working, but I honestly don't know what I did. The maps app would launch, but there was no nav. I cleared data in the manage programs menu and it mysteriously started working.
cant get this to work on my mt3g
using amon_ra's 1.6 donut rom, flashed navi afterwards, and has no service (3g, wifi, anything) so can't even dl google voice to try to mend the problem
anyone else with this issue?

alright i see the prob i think. as far as build props anyway. the only thing that needs to be changed is this line
ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.0/ESD20/17572:user/ota-rel-keys,release-keys
the rest can stay the same.
this should play nice with other apps, and allow the new facebook as well.
edit: in this line would need to be modded in build.trout.prop for the dream and build.sapphire.prop for the sapphire
also note that you can mod the line in both and leave them in the update. cyan's roms use all 3 build props. but reads from the trout or sapphire depending on which phone it is installed on, since his roms can work on both.
working great on my wifes G1

[ROM][BETA] Eclr0.2.1b "Bishop" - 2.0 with gapps + semi-working sync ~TESTING ONLY~
Release 0.2b "Bishop", it`s more trustworthy than Ash but still an ugly old coot.
Release Name: Eclr-gZ
Release Version: 0.2b "Bishop"
MD5 Sum: 2606f60d040840316686bac58ac1a271
Credits: Me
Base Firmware: 2.0
Radio Required: 2.22.19.26I
SPL Required: 1.33.2005
Partition Layout: FAT/Ext3/Linux-Swap
Wipe Required: Yes
Special instructions: Disable sync & refresh gmail manually.
Download: http://www.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=goldenarmz/APPS/&file=Eclr.0.2.1b-Bishop.gZ.zip
**IMPORTANT: Automatic sync gets stuck in a loop. Contacts and emails will sync on first boot, but for now you'll have to disable autosync and periodically do it manually to get your emails through. If you can't tolerate that, DON'T FLASH THIS ROM!**
Sync service seems to trip up over a new sync adapter that wasn't in 1.6 - "subscribedfeeds - com.google". It will constantly retry this adapter and ignore all others. I've messed about with swapping in the subscribedfeeds apk from 1.6, this fixed the problem but caused FCs with the calendar and gapps.. a better solution is needed. Manual sync using the dev tools works fine, but it keeps falling back into a loop with this other adapter and I don't know how to stop it... let's see if any of you can come up with anything 8)
Aside from this rather large problem, all google apps are working with no force closes as yet.
NOTES:
Requires the standard 3 partition setup, fat, ext, swap and the deathspl. G1/Dream/ADP1 only.
My update script will erase userdata.. it's easier that way until the rom is stable.
First boot has been cleaned up. Sign-in works normally, but the phone will take a few minutes after boot to settle down and get up to speed. There is still a force close from LatinIME on boot sometimes.. not figured that one out yet.
FEATURES:
root
a2sd (working now, tested on ext3. wipe your ext to be sure)
linux-swap
wifi
bt
gapps
sync (sort of)
added wallpaper set & save app
facebook app from sholes dump
build.prop hack for navigation
NOT WORKING:
Accelerometer
Camera
STILL TO DO:
fix sync
optimization
theme

Removing Keyguard Password Policy due to Exchange (HTC Sense & Milestone & Froyo)
Introduction
Hi Everybody,
when synchronizing your HTC, Motorolla or Froyo Androids with Exchange, it might be that your device needs to be locked by a password. Having to enter this password on every unlock is quite annoying. It would be great to use Androids unlock pattern instead of the cumbersome on-screen keyboard or disable the unlock password at all. To achieve this, I have written a small app.
Unlike other workarounds, this one let's you keep using your stock unlock screen.
Android 2.1 Download (HTC/Milestone)
HTC Sense:
Install the app
Choose which mode you want (password disabled, password enabled or lockpattern enabled)
Click Save
If you have enabled "Lockpattern":
Click "Set lockpattern"
change lockpattern
click "Done setting lockpattern"

Motorola:
Attention: You need to be rooted and you need the sqlite3 binary. If the program won't do anything, the missing sqlite3 binary is most likely the cause. The easiest way is to install another ROM with busybox and sqlite3 binary installed. Otherwise:
get it from somewhere, push it to "/sdcard", open shell with "adb shell" and:
Code:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/system/mtdblock6 /system
cp /sdcard/sqlite3 /system/xbin/sqlite3
chmod 755 /system/xbin/sqlite3
chown root.shell /system/xbin/sqlite3
Then go ahead with my app.
Need help? Have a look here
Choose whether to disable or enable password
Click Save
Please report if it is possible with disabled password to set a lockpattern. If not we can try to work this out together. I don't have a Motorola Droid, so I can't test. Please send me a private message.
Please check as well if there is a popup that your device needs security enabled or whatever.

Android 2.2 - Froyo (Sense & AOSP) - Android 2.3 Gingerbreas AOSP Download
Attention: Root is necessary. You need to replace the original email app with a patched one. The email apps are usually on /system/app, so you definately need root to replace it.
Because I do not want to run into any licensing issues, I have written a toolkit named "FroyoMailUnlocker" which you can use to patch your own email app. I currently support HTC Sense Froyo Mail.apk and Android AOSP (like Cyanogenmod 6 & Cyanogenmod 7) Email.apk. As I do not own a Motorolla, I have no idea if this will work there as well. This toolkit has proven to patch all stock Email apks from Froyo and Gingerbread.
Prerequesites:
You need to have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Make sure that your Java Home is part of the %PATH% variable. You can test this by issuing start -> run -> cmd -> java -version
And this version is for Windows at the moment. I can easily do one for Linux as well if there is a proper need to.
Basic usage instructions common for both brands:
Pull the apk you want to patch from your ROM
Download the "FroyoMailUnlocker" and extract it
Move the apk to the folder "put_apk_here"
Run the file "FroyoMailUnlocker.exe"
Push the new apk from the folder "put_apk_here" to the root of your SDcard
Boot your phone into recovery
Open a shell with "adb shell" and issue the following commands:
Code:
mount /system
mount /sdcard
...continue with instructions below specific for your brand
Instructions for Sense:
Code:
cp /sdcard/Mail.apk /system/app/
reboot
Setup your Exchange account
Accept the policy, set your Pin-Code
Open up Settings -> Security -> Device Administrator
Remove device administrator
Accept every warning that your Exchange account will be wiped
Still in Security, disable screen lock
Enjoy your policy-free HTC Sense on Froyo

Instructions for AOSP:
Code:
cp /sdcard/Email.apk /system/app/
reboot
Setup your Exchange account

Appendix
Note 1:
My solution does not require a background service which runs all the time. It sets the desired configuration persistantly and survives a policy reenforcement without having to run any more. You can safely set your configuration and uninstall the app. But you need to be rooted.
Note 3:
Please take a short rest and think about why your company has applied these restrictions over their mobile users. If you say "I don't care", then this app is probably for you. If not, stick to the password unlock.
Important Note for HTC devices:
If you don't use the lockscreen shipped by HTC, it is possible to disable password lock, but you should not reenable password lock again! The issue appears if the lockscreen is enabled again. HTCs framework will then try to configure the HTC Lockscreen and won't find it which ends up in an error. This could prevent your device from booting up. You can fix it by booting into recovery and issuiing the following commands from an "adb shell" and reboot.
Code:
mount /system
mount /data
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
update system set value='0' where name='lockscreen.lockexchange.enable';
FAQ
Hey, I changed my configuration from X to Y, but it doesn't work
Just reboot. This should fix your issue. Or if lockpattern does not work, just click on "Set lockpattern", go to security settings, set your pattern and click "Done setting lockpattern".
Hey, installation of the apk failed
Please enable USB debugging in the settings, get the Android SDK (adb tool) and execute "adb -d uninstall com.myandroid.keyguardcontroller"
I can't find your app in the market
Absolutely correct. It's not yet upped. Maybe it will in the future, when this app is tested thouroughly enough. I expect that the more technicaly interested guys come here to find a solution for their problems instead of searching the market and those are the best testers.
After pushing the unlocked file to my 2.2 rom, the Mail/Email app does not show up
Better use a deodexed rom or deodex the apk. Instructions can be found here: DeodexInstructions or xUltimate
Make sure you have cleaned the Dalvik Cache

I have quickly put together an app which let's you decide whether lockscreen should ask for password or not, or if it should be disabled at all.
Any testers?

So where's the app?
Does it re-disable the lock screen after the policy has been re-enforced?

Do they reenforce the policy? Didn't noticed that so far. Wrote the app and created this thread. That's why I am asking for testers. If you want to help, send a private message
Cheers
Ok, I have a way to make this setting persistent without having to run any background service, app, script or whatever. I am now iterating the lock-pattern issue. I want to be able to use a lockpattern without having Android Mail ask you to set security policies once a day.
Not sure if this is possible, but we will see.
is this for using the stock exchange app? using activesync?
Just curious because I cannot use the stock exchange app due to security policies set at the server level. So I wondered how this would be affected by that.

It's for the mail app of HTC Sense. They build their own UI on top of stock Android and added support for Exchange policies. With this program, we try to circumvent the Exchange password policy. So you might want to get another ROM with Sense for your mobile, or grab Moxier mail from the market.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Current status: I am able to remove password policy, set an unlock pattern and stick with that right now. The Exchange security popup shows up, but it does not override the settings. Once again, there is no background task/script involved. To remove the security popup at all is the next task on the agenda.
Ok, app is ready and tested by two or three people.
It will now make settings persistent, regardless of policy reenforcement.
Additionally it is able to set Lockpatterns without having the policy enforcement popup every morning.
BTW: API level is 3, so it should work with Android 1.5 as well, but I have only been able to test it with Android 2.1.
Hi,
Where I could get this app?
Is it really works on 2.1?
Thanks

It is in the testing phase. Yes it works on HTC Sense 2.1 Roms. Milestone is in the testing phase. As I don't own a milestone, I can only rely on users feedback.

Are you willing to try out some SQL commands? Is your milestone rooted?
If so, send me a pm with your email address.

Are you experienced enough to help testing? Are you familiar with SQL commands? Are you brave enough to break your system? If so, send me a pm.
Working on Milestone, confirmed. Now need to add that option to the app.

Yes, I know, and additionally for HTC Sense it doesn't support Lockpatterns. Mine does
Hello everbody! I want to know what is the best custom rom. Is Lumiatrix^7 4.1 Or RainbowMod v1.3?
Another thing Lumiatrix^7 4.1 is an update of Lumia^7 v3?
Which of these do you want?
Sorry for my poor english...
Hi there...
I have tried them both on my Lumia 710, and in my opinion RainbowMod v1.3 is the best!
Lumiatrix^7 4.1 rom seems to have a few bugs.
I started out with Lumiatrix^7 4.1 rom but ran into some "strange" things and a few bugs almost right away so I desided to flash the RainbowMod v1.3 rom instead. Now everything is working fine on my phone and I have not found any bugs.
hi. I've had a Rainbow Mod 1.3 installed some time ago. In general it was working pretty fine except: I couldn't configure MMS messages (the problem is very common for Lumias, can be fixed by installing and using the Network Setup app but I failed to install v1.6.0.0 from 4pda (doe to some error) and it is absent in Marketplace). This was critical for me and I decided to update. Moreover the newer core was released but Tolik (RM author) wasn't ready with new update to RainbowMod so I decided to try the Lumiatrix7_v4.1. The update was fast and successful. I had to re-link all my contacts with the facebook and linked-in contact list again (btw, does smb. know how to avoid that?) and reinstall some of the apps. People are saying about better operational speed... being hornest I didn't notice that. I am missing some useful tools in Lumiatrix e.g. ActiveSync, Operation list linked to the Search button BUT I have managed to get my MMS working now! So I am kinda happy

Did network setup app 1.6 come with your rom or did you install it by itself? Also, can you access the mms settings in the network setup 1.6 app?
I can't find it on xda so let me know if you got it off the rainbow rom preinstalled or if you downloaded and installed it from separately
