Greetings to all!
I've searched the forum for like an hour or so but i can't seem to find the anwser to my question...
What is the correct order when flashing new firmware, radio etc...?
I'm already S-OFF, used various custom ROMs in the past but until now there was no need to flash a new radio & firmware.
Do i need to flash 1st the new firmware, then ROM, then radio? Is this the correct order?
I'm about to flash the new 4.03 ICS...
If someone has a link to proper instructions (that i've most likely missed), it would help!
Thanks in advance!!!
Problem solved.
Thanks for looking into it!
PS: for anyone having the same question: 1. SuperCID 2. Flash PG58IMG.zip 3. Flash ROM
Hello
i am trying to up date to the latest modem...i just installed the executioner 2.5 rom, during hobarts review he noted that i needed to update to the VRBLK3.RPM rom.....i downed the the zip and installed it but my radio undre about phone is still showing version i535vrlf2...what am i doing wrong? thanks in advance
The RPM and modem are 2 different files. If you flashed the RPM and not the modem the baseband won't change. Use the modem file linked to in the stickied post in the development section. http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-officialmodems-verizon-sgs3-sch-i535-odin-or-recovery-flashable. You don't have to flash any certain modem with any rom and everyone has different results with them.
Thank you will try
So, I think I have the right idea but I wanted to make sure before I do anything so I don't brick or cause headaches for myself.
Currently on:
Hellkat 4.2.2
Kernel: BMS 3.4.77
Basebad: I535VRBLK1
Download Mode shows the following:
ODIN MODE
Product name: SCH-I535
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable
My understanding is that I should get the MF1 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788313
Flash that through recovery (do I need to wipe anything before/after this?)
Update baseband from that thread as well (do I flash this through recovery as well?)
And then I should be good?
Thanks in advance!

All you need to do is what invisiblek says in this line:
"My recommendation: if you aren't already on MF1 firmware (below), flash that. Then update your baseband with this: http://invisiblek.org/sch-i535/modem..._ML1_modem.zip"
Both are flashed in recovery, you don't need to wipe first, or reboot or anything in between. Just flash this: http://invisiblek.org/sch-i535/firmware/d2vzw_VRBMF1_firmware.zip, and then flash this: http://invisiblek.org/sch-i535/modems/d2vzw_ML1_modem.zip. The first ZIP updates all the phone's firmware to the MF1 version, the second ZIP is just updating the radio portion of the firmware to ML1. If you're sticking with an AOSP ROM, there is no need to update the radio, but feel free to try the ML1 radio if you want, it may improve your reception. Sticking to MF1 won't cause any problems with your ROM though.

Awesome, that's what I figured I had to do, but I just wanted to confirm what I was thinking. Thanks!
1 : when flashing a new rom, do i have to reflash cfroot and then twrp all over and then only flash the designated rom? Im currently on xtreolite
2: how do i check what modem/bootloader/etc version am i on?
Noob Question: Yo, guys, If you update the radio using fastboot then you flash a ROM, does it change the version of the radio?
E.G.
I update the radio to "2.0.50.2.30" using fastboot, then I clean/dirty flash Lineage OS (which according to what I've read, it comes with "2.0.50.2.29"). Will it change the version of the radio?
Based on my personal experience, flashing a ROM should not affect the radio version.
Nope it's not. Some of the ROMs coming with no radio/bootloader or outdated version, you should update your radio/bootloader for once then you are good to go.They survives dirty flash.
